SahihAlBukhari-017-001-592		Narrated Abdullah Bin Masud: The Prophet ﷺ said; The Adhan pronounced by Bilal should not stop you from taking Suhur; for he pronounces the Adhan at night; so that the one offering the late night prayer Tahajjud from among you might hurry up and the sleeping from among you might wake up. It does not mean that dawn or morning has started. So Allah Messenger ﷺ shifted to the upper storey; whereas Abu Ayoub Ansari shifted to the lower storey; and he Abu Ayoub Ansari used to prepare food for Allah Apostle ﷺ ; and when it was brought back to him he asked to locate the part; where his fingers had touched the food ; and he followed his fingers on that part where his fingers those of the Holy Prophet had touched it. One day he prepared food which contained garlic; and when it was returned to him he asked to locate the part which the fingers of Allah Apostle ﷺ had touched. It was said to him that he had not eaten the food. He Abd Ayoub Ansari was distressed and went up to him to the Holy Prophet and said: Is it forbidden? But Allah Messenger ﷺ said: No; it is not forbidden ; but I do not like it. and he Abu Ayoub Ansari said: I also do not like what you do not like or which you did not like. He Abu Ayoub Ansari said: The Prophet did not eat garlic as Allah Apostle ﷺ was visited by angels and brought him the message of Allah. He went and returned and said: No; by Allah; not even an iron ring; but only this lower garment of mine Sahl said that he had no upper garment ; half of which I am prepared to part with for her. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: How can your lower garment serve your purpose; for it you wear it; she would not be able to make any use of it and if she wears it there would not be anything on you? The man sat down and as the sitting prolonged he stood up in disappointment and as he was going back Allah Messenger ﷺ commanded him to be called back; and as he came; he said to him: Do you know any part of the Quran? He said: I know such and such surahs and he counted them ; whereupon he ﷺ said: Can you recite them from heart from your memory ? He said: Yes; whereupon he Allah Messenger said: Go; I have given her to you in marriage for the part of the Quran which you know. So I said: The desire for knowledge. So he said: Indeed; the angels lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge; out of pleasure with what he is seeking. So I said: Indeed there is some doubt in my chest concerning wiping over the Khuff after defecation and urination; and you were a man from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ ; so I came to you to ask you: Have you heard him ﷺ mention anything concerning that? He said: Yes; he ﷺ used to order us; that when we were travelers - or - in travel; to not remove our Khuff for three days and nights except; from sexual impurity; but not from defecation; urination; and sleep. He said: Have you heard him ﷺ mention anything concerning love? He said: Yes. We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey when a Bedouin with a loud voice called upon him saying : O Muhammad! So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ responded to him with a voice similar to him saying : Come. So we said to him: Lower your voice for you are with the Prophet ﷺ ; and you have been prohibited from this. He said: By Allah; I will not lower my voice. The Bedouin said: A man loves a people but he is not with them in terms of deeds ? He ﷺ said: A man is with whomever he loves on the Day Of Judgment. So he did not cease talking with us; until he mentioned a gate in the direction of the west with the width of seventy years journey - or a rider would travel its width - for forty or seventy years. Sufyan one of the narrators said: In the direction of AlSham; Allah created it the Day He created the heavens and the earth; open - that is; for repentance. It shall not be locked until the sun rises through it. I put my garment over my head; covered myself and put on my Izar lower garment ; and I set out after him until he came to AlBaqi; raised his hands three times and stood there for a long time. Then he left and I left; he hurried and I hurried; he ran and I ran; and I got there before him and entered the house. I had only just laid down when he came in and said: O Aisha; why are you out of breath? one of the reporters Sulaiman said: I thought he Ibn Wahb said: short of breath. He said: Either you tell me or the All-Aware; All-Knowing will tell me. I said: O Messenger of Allah; may my father and mother be sacrificed for you; and I told him the story. He said: You were the black shape I saw in front of me? I said: Yes. She said: He gave me a shove in the chest that hurt me and said: You thought that Allah and His Messenger would be unfair to you. She said: Whatever people conceal; Allah; the Mighty and Sublime; knows it. He said: Yes. He said: Jibril came to me when you saw me leave but he did not enter upon you because you have taken off your garments. So he called me but he concealed himself from you; and I answered him but I concealed it from you. I thought that you had gone to sleep and I did not want to wake you and I was afraid that you would feel lonely. He told me to go to AlBaqi and pray for forgiveness for them. AlHajjaj Bin Muhammad contradicted him Ibn Wahb ; he said: From Ibn Juraij; from Ibn Abi Mulaikah; from Muhammad Bin Qais. I thought that you had gone to sleep and I did not want to wake you; and I was afraid that you would feel lonely. He told me to go to AlBaqi and pray for forgiveness for them. SunanAlNasai-017-001-14544		It was narrated from Sahl Bin Saad that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah and said: O Messenger of Allah; I have come to offer myself to you in marriage. The Messenger of Allah looked her up and down then lowered his head. When the woman saw that he was not saying anything about her; she sat down. A man among his Companions stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah; if you do not want to marry her; then marry me to her. He said: Do you have anything? He said: No; by Allah; I do not have anything. He said: Look; even if it is only an iron ring. He went; then he came back and said: No; by Allah; O Messenger of Allah; not even an iron ring; but this is my Izar lower garment - Sahl said: He did not have a Rida upper garment - she can have half of it. The Messenger of Allah said: What could she do with your Izar? If you wear it; she will not have any of it; and if she wears it; you will not have any of it. The man sat down for a long time; then he got up; and the Messenger of Allah saw him leaving; so he ordered that he be called back. When he came; he said: What do you know of the Quran? He said: I know Surah such-and-such; and Surah such-and-such; and listed them. He said: Can you recite them by heart? He said: Yes. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25175		Suwayd Ibn Ghaflah said: I went myself or someone who accompanied the collector of the Prophet ﷺ told me: It was recorded in the document written by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not to accept a milking goat or camel or a suckling baby as zakat on animals ; and those which are in separate flocks are not to be brought together; and those which are in one flock are not to be separated. The collector used to visit the water-hole when the sheep went there and say: Pay the sadaqah zakat on your property. The narrator said: A man wanted to give him his high-humped camel kawma. The narrator Hilal asked: What is kawma; Abu Salih? He said: A camel a high hump. The narrator continued: He the collector refused to accept it. He said: I wish you could take the best of my camels. He refused to accept it. He then brought another camel lower in quality than the previous one. He refused to accept it too. He then brought another camel lower in quality than the previous one. He accepted it; saying: I shall take it; but I am afraid the Messenger of Allah ﷺ might be angry with me; saying to me: You have purposely taken from a man a camel of your choice.Abu Dawud said: This tradition has also been narrated by Hushaim from Hilal Bin Khabbab to the same effect. He then gave him a long wrapper dyed with saffron or wars and he wrapped himself in it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then raised his hands and said: O Allah; bestow Thy blessings and mercy on the family of Saad Ibn Ubadah! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then shared their meals. When he intended to return; Saad brought near him an ass which was covered with a blanket. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mounted it. Saad said: O Qays; accompany the Messenger of Allah. Qays said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: Ride. But I refused. He again said: Either ride or go away. He said: So I went away. Hisham said: Abu Marwan transmitted from Muhammad Ibn Abdulrahman Ibn Asad Ibn Zurarah.Abu Dawud said: Umar Bin Abd AlWahid and Ibn Samaah transmitted it from AlAwzai in mursal form the ling of the Companion being missing ; and they did not mention Qais Bin Sad. He said: Do not say On you be peace; for On you be peace is a greeting for the dead; but say Peace be upon you. I asked: You are the Messenger of Allah may peace be upon you ? He said: I am the Messenger of Allah Whom you call when a calamity befalls you and He removes it; when you suffer from drought and you call Him; He grows food for you; and when you are in a desolate land or in a desert and your camel strays and you call Him; He returns it to you. I said: Give me some advice. He said: Do not abuse anyone. He said that he did not abuse a freeman; or a slave; or a camel or a sheep thenceforth. He said: Do not look down upon any good work; and when you speak to your brother; show him a cheerful face. This is a good work. Have your lower garment halfway down your shin; if you cannot do it; have it up to the ankles. Beware of trailing the lower garment; for it is conceit and Allah does not like conceit. And if a man abuses and shames you for something which he finds in you; then do not shame him for something which you find in him; he will bear the evil consequences for it. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27298		Narrated Qays Ibn Bishr AlTaghlibi: My father told me that he was a companion of Abu AlDarda. There was in Damascus a man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ ; called Ibn AlHanzaliyah. He was a recluse and rarely met the people. He remained engaged in prayer. When he was not praying he was occupied in glorifying Allah and exalting Him until he went to his family. Once he passed us when we were with AbudDarda. AbudDarda said to him: Tell us a word which benefits us and does not harm you. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent out a contingent and it came back. One of the men came and sat in the place where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to sit; and he said to a man beside him: Would that you saw us when we met the enemy and so-and-so attacked and cut through a lance. He said: Take it from me and I am a boy of the tribe Ghifar. What do you think about his statement? He replied: I think his reward was lost. Another man heard it and said: I do not think that there is any harm in it. They quarrelled until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard it; and he said: Glory be to Allah! There is no harm if he is rewarded and praised. I saw that AbudDarda was pleased with it and began to raise his hand to him and say: Did you hear it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? He said: Yes. He continued to repeat it to him so often that I thought he was going to kneel down. He said: On another day he again passed us. AbudDarda said to him: Tell us a word which benefits us and does not harm you. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us: One who spends on the maintenance of horses for jihad is like the one who spreads his hand to give alms sadaqah and does not withhold it. He then passed us on another day. AbudDarda said to him: Tell us a word which benefits us and does no harm to you. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Khuraym AlAsadi would be a fine man were it not for the length of his hair; which reaches the shoulders; and the way he lets his lower garment hang down. When Khuraym heard that; he hurriedly; took a knife; cut his hair in line with his ears and raised his lower garment half way up his legs. He then passed us on another day. AbudDarda said to him: tell us a word which benefits us and does not harm you. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: You are coming to your brethren; so tidy your mounts and tidy your dress; until you are like a mole among the people. Allah does not like obscene words or deeds; or do intentional committing of obscenity.Abu Dawud said: Similarly; Abu Nuaim narrated from Hisham. He said: Until you will be like a mole among the people. He did not give him the land which involved the right of a Muslim. The Prophet ﷺ wrote a document for him. It goes: In the name of Allah; the Compassionate; the Merciful. This is what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ assigned to Bilal Ibn Harith AlMuzani. He gave him the mines of AlQabaliyah; both which lay on the upper side and which lay on the lower side; and the land which is suitable for cultivation at Quds. He did not give him the right of any Muslim.Abu Uwais said: A similar tradition has been narrated to me by Thawr Bin Zaid; client of Banu AlDail Bin Bakr Bin Kinahah from Ikrimah on the authority of Ibn Abbas. He gave him the mines of AlQabaliyah both those which lay on the upper and lower side; and that which is fit for cultivation at Quds. He did not give him the right of any Muslim. The narrator Abu Uways said: A similar tradition has been transmitted to me by Thawr Ibn Zayd from Ikrimah on the authority of Ibn Abbas from the Prophet ﷺ. Ibn AlNadr added: Ubay Ibn Kaab wrote it. Malik said; concerning someone who forgot and raised his head before the imam in ruku or sujud; The sunna of that is to return to bowing or prostrating and not to wait for the imam to come up. What he has done is a mistake; because the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; The imam is appointed to be followed as a leader; so do not oppose him. Abu Huraira said; The one who raises his head and lowers it before the imam - his forelock is in the hand of a shaytan.
