Had there not been believing men and believing women whom ye did not know that ye were trampling down and on whose account a crime would have accrued to you without (your) knowledge, (Allah would have allowed you to force your way, but He held back your hands) that He may admit to His Mercy whom He will. If they had been apart, We should certainly have punished the Unbelievers among them with a grievous Punishment.

The Prophet ﷺ said to the messenger ; Go back and tell her that whatever Allah takes is His; and whatever He gives is His; and everything with Him has a limited fixed term in this world. So order her to be patient and hope for Allah reward. But she sent the messenger to the Prophet ﷺ again; swearing that he should come to her. So the Prophet got up; and so did Saad Bin Ubada and Muadh Bin Jabal and went to her. When the child was brought to the Prophet ﷺ his breath was disturbed in his chest as if it were in a water skin. On that the eyes of the Prophet ﷺ became flooded with tears; whereupon Saad said to him; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! What is this? The Prophet ﷺ said; This is mercy which Allah has put in the heart of His slaves; and Allah bestows His mercy only on those of His slaves who are merciful to others. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1080		Narrated Usama: A son of one of the daughters of the Prophet ﷺ was dying; so she sent a person to call the Prophet. He sent her a message ; What ever Allah takes is for Him; and whatever He gives is for Him; and everything has a limited fixed term in this world so she should be patient and hope for Allah reward. She then sent for him again; swearing that he should come. Allah Messenger ﷺ got up; and so did Muadh Bin Jabal; Ubai Bin Kaab and Ubada Bin AlSamit. When he entered the house ; they gave the child to Allah Messenger ﷺ while its breath was disturbed in his chest. The sub-narrator said: I think he said;...as if it was a water skin. Allah Messenger ﷺ started weeping whereupon Saad Bin Ubada said; Do you weep? The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah is merciful only to those of His slaves who are merciful to others. The eyes of Allah Messenger ﷺ started shedding tears. Saad said; What is this; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ? The Prophet ﷺ said; This is the mercy which Allah has lodged in the hearts of whoever He wants of His slaves; and verily Allah is merciful only to those of His slaves who are merciful to others. On that the eyes of the Prophet ﷺ started shedding tears. Saad said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! What is this? He replied; It is mercy which Allah has lodged in the hearts of His slaves; and Allah is merciful only to those of His slaves who are merciful to others. My daughter is dying; please come to us. The Prophet ﷺ sent her his greetings and added It is for Allah what He takes; and what He gives; and everything before His sight has a limited period. So she should hope for Allah reward and remain patient. She again sent a message; beseeching him by Allah; to come. So the Prophet ﷺ got up. and so did we and went there. The child was placed on his lap while his breath was irregular. Tears flowed from the eyes of the Prophet. Saad said to him; What is this; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ? He said. This Is Mercy which Allah has embedded in the hearts of whomever He wished of His slaves. And Allah does not bestow His Mercy; except on the merciful among His slaves. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-7107		Narrated Anas: A banquet of bread and meat was held on the occasion of the marriage of the Prophet ﷺ to Zainab bint Jahsh. I was sent to invite the people to the banquet ; and so the people started coming in groups ; They would eat and then leave. Another batch would come; eat and leave. So I kept on inviting the people till I found nobody to invite. Then I said; O Allah Prophet! I do not find anybody to invite. He said; Carry away the remaining food. Then a batch of three persons stayed in the house chatting. The Prophet ﷺ left and went towards the dwelling place of Aisha and said; Peace and Allah Mercy be on you; O the people of the house! She replied; Peace and the mercy of Allah be on you too. How did you find your wife? May Allah bless you. Then he went to the dwelling places of all his other wives and said to them the same as he said to Aisha and they said to him the same as Aisha had said to him. Then the Prophet ﷺ returned and found a group of three persons still in the house chatting. The Prophet was a very shy person; so he went out for the second time and went towards the dwelling place of Aisha. I do not remember whether I informed him that the people have gone away. So he returned and as soon as he entered the gate; he drew the curtain between me and him; and then the Verse of AlHijab was revealed. Suhail said: As for Bismillah; we do not know what is meant by Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Rahim In the name of Allah most Gracious and most Merciful. But write what we understand; i. e. Bi ismika allahumma in thy name. O Allah. Then; the Prophet ﷺ said: Write: From Muhammad; the Messenger of Allah. They said: If we knew that thou welt the Messenger of Allah; we would follow you. Therefore; write your name and the name of your father. So the Prophet ﷺ said: Write From Muhammad Bin Abdullah. They laid the condition on the Prophet ﷺ that anyone who joined them from the Muslims; the Meccans would not return him; and anyone who joined you the Muslims from them; you would send him back to them. The Companions said: Messenger of Allah; should we write this? He said: Yes. One who goes away from us to join them-may Allah keep him away! and one who comes to join us from them and is sent back Allah will provide him relief and a way of escape. SahihMuslim-017-001-18133		It has been reported on the authority of Salama Bin Akwa who said: On the day of the Battle of Khaibar my brother fought a fierce fight by the side of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. His sword rebounded and killed him. The Companions of the Messenger of Allah may peace be upon hill talked about his death and doubted whether it was martyrdom. They said : He is a man killed by his own weapon; and expressed doubt about his affair. Salama said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from Khaibar; I said: Messenger of Allah; permit me that I may recite to you some rajaz verses. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ permitted him. Umar Bin AlKhattab said: I know what you will recite. I recited: By God; if God had guided us not; We would hive neither been guided aright nor practised charity; Nor offered prayers. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: What you have said is true; I continued : And descend on us peace and tranquillity And keep us steadfast if we encounter with our enemies And the polytheists have rebelled against us. When I finished my rajaz; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Who composed these verses? I said: They were composed by my brother. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: May God show mercy to him! I said: By God; some people are reluctant to invoke God mercy on him because they say he is a man who died by his own sword. Hearing this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He died as God devotee and warrior. Ibn Shihab has said: I asked one of the sons of Salama Bin Akwa about the death of Amir. He related to me a similar tradition except that he said: When I said some people were reluctant invoke God blessings on him; the Messenger of Allah may peace be; upon him said: They lied. Amir died as God devotee and warrior in the cause of Allah. For him there is a double reward; and he pointed out this by putting his two fingers together. SahihMuslim-017-001-18611		It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas that some persons amongst the polytheist had committed a large number of murders and had excessively indulged in fornication. Then they came to Muhammad ﷺ and said: Whatever you assert and whatever you call to is indeed good. But if you inform us that there is atonement of our past deeds then we would embrace Islam. Then it was revealed: And those who call not unto another god along with Allah and slay not any soul which Allah has forbidden except in the cause of justice; nor commit fornication; and he who does this shall meet the requital of sin. Multiplied for him shall be the torment on the Day of Resurrection; and he shall therein abide disgraced; except him who repents a believes and does good deeds. Then these! for the Allah shall change their vices into virtues. Verily Allah is Ever Forgiving; Merciful xxv. 68-70. Say thou: O my bondsmen woo have committed extravagance against themselves despair not of the Mercy of Allah I Verily Allah will forgive the sins altogether. Both of you will be full. The Hell will riot be filled up until Allah puts down His foot in it. The Hell would say: Enough; enough; enough; and at that time it will be filled up; all its parts integrated together. SahihMuslim-017-001-18867		Hammam Bin Munabbih reported that Abu Huraira narrated to them some ahadith of Allah Messenger ﷺ and one of them is this that Allah Messenger ﷺ said: The Paradise and the Hell fell into dispute and the Hell said: 1 have been distinguished for accommodating the haughty and proud in me ; and the Paradise said: What is the matter that the meek and the humble and the downtrodden and simple would find an abode in me? And lie said to the Hell: You are a sign of My chastisement and I shall chastise through you anyone whom I will from amongst My servants and both of you; would be full. And as regards the Hell it would not be full until Allah; the Exalted and Glorious; places His foot therein; and it would say: Enough; enough; enough; and it would be then full and the one part would draw very close to the other one and Allah would not treat unjustly anyone amongst His creation and He would create another creation for the Paradise to accommodate it. He was directed to a monk. He came to him and told him that he had killed ninety-nine persons and asked him whether there was any scope for his repentance to be accepted. He said: No. He killed him also and thus completed one hundred. He then asked about the learned persons of the earth and he was directed to a scholar; and he told him that he had killed one hundred persons and asked him whether there was any scope for his repentance to be accepted. He said: Yes; what stands between you and the repentance? You better go to such and such land; there are people devoted to prayer and worship and you also worship along with them and do not come to the land of yours since it was an evil land for you. So he went away and he had hardly covered half the distance when death came to him and there was a dispute between the angels of mercy and the angels of punishment. The angels of mercy said: This man has come as a penitant and remorseful to Allah and the angels of punishment said: He has done no good at all. Then there came another angel in the form of a human being in order to decide between them. He said: You measure the land to which he has drawn near. They measured it and found him nearer to the land where he intended to go the land of piety ; and so the angels of mercy took possession of it. Qatada said thatHassan told him that it was said to them that as death approached him; he crawled upon his chest and managed to slip in the land of mercy. Uthman replied: When the verses of the Quran were revealed to the Prophet ﷺ ; he called someone to write them down for him and said to him: Put this verse in the surah in which such and such has been mentioned; and when one or two verses were revealed; he used to say similarly regarding them. Surah AlAnfal is the first surah that was revealed at Medina; and Surah AlBaraah was revealed last in the Quran; and its contents were similar to those of AlAnfal. I; therefore; thought that it was a part of AlAnfal. Hence I put them in the category of AlSabu AlTiwal the seven lengthy surahs ; and I did not write In the name of Allah; the Compassionate; the Merciful between them. When you sneeze; praise Allah I;e; say praise be to Allah ; and when someone sneezes and praises Allah; say May Allah have mercy on you. Meanwhile I was standing along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during prayer; all of a sudden a man sneezed; and he praised Allah. So I said; may Allah have mercy on you; in a loud voice. The people gave me disapproving looks so much so that I took ill of it. So I said : what do you mean by looking at me with furtive glances. Then they glorified Allah. When the prophet ﷺ finished his prayer; he asked; who was the speaker? The Prophet told him; this Bedouin. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called me and said to me: Prayer is meant for the recitation of the Quran; and making mention of Allah. When you are in it prayer ; this should be your work therein. This is what Allah servant Umar has written about Thamgh. He narrated the tradition like the one transmitted by Nafi. He added: provided he is not storing up goods for himself. The surplus fruit will be devoted to the beggar and the deprived. He then went on with the tradition; saying: If the man in charge of Thamgh wishes to buy a slave for his work for its fruits by selling them ; he may do so. Muiqib penned it and Abdullah Bin AlArqam witnessed it : In the name of Allah; the Compassionate; the Merciful. This is what Allah servant Umar ; Commander of Faithful; directed; in case of some incident happens to him i.e. he dies ; that Thamg; Sirmah Bin AlAkwa; the servant who is there; the hundred shares in the land of Khaibr; the servant who is there and the hundred sahres which Muhammad ﷺ had donated to me in the valley nearly will remain in the custody of Hafsah during her life; then the men of opinion from her family will be in charge of these endowments ; that these will neither be sold not purchased; spending its produce where they think necessary on the beggar; deprived and relatives. There is no harm to the one in charge of this endowment if he eats himself; or feeds; or buys slaves with it. MuwataMalik-017-001-36058		Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah Ibn Umar used to say the tashahhud saying; In the name of Allah. Greetings belong to Allah. Prayers belong to Allah. Pure actions belong to Allah. Peace be on the Prophet and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be on us and on the slaves of Allah who are salihun. I testify that there is no god except Allah. I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Bismillah; AlTahiyatu lillah; AlSalawatu lillah; AlZakiyatu lillah. AlSalamu alan-nabiyi wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. AlSalamu alayna wa ala ibadillahis-salihin. Shahidtu an la ilaha illallah. Shahidtu anna Muhammad AlRasulullah. He used to say this after the first two rakas and he would make supplication with whatever seemed fit to him when the tashahhud was completed. When he sat at the end of the prayer; he did the tashahhud in a similar manner; except that after the tashahhud he made supplication with whatever seemed fit to him. When he had completed the tashahhud and intended to say the taslim; he said; Peace be on the Prophet and His mercy and blessings. Peace be upon us and on the slaves of Allah who are salihun. Alsalamu alan-nabiyi wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. AlSalamu alayna wa ala ibadillahissalihin. He then said; Peace be upon you to his right; and would return the greeting to the imam; and if anyone said Peace be upon you from his left he would return the greeting to him.
