The Prophet ﷺ then asked us; Which month is this? We said; Allah and His Apostle know it better. He kept quiet so long that we thought he might call it by another name. Then he said; Isnt it Dhu AlHijja? We said; Yes. He asked What town is this? We said; Allah and His Apostle know it better. Then he kept quiet so long that we thought he might call it by another name. He then said; Isnt it the forbidden town Mecca ? We said; Yes. He asked; What is the day today? We said; Allah and His Apostle know it better. Then he kept quiet so long that we thought that he might call it by another name. Then he said; Isnt it the Day of AlNahr slaughtering of sacrifices ? It is incumbent upon those who are present to inform it to those who are absent for perhaps the informed one might comprehend it understand it better than some of the present audience. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6732 | Narrated Abu Bakra: The Prophet ﷺ said; Time has taken its original shape which it had when Allah created the Heavens and the Earth. The year is of twelve months; four of which are sacred; and out of these four three are in succession; i.e. Dh AlQada; Dhu AlHijja and AlMuharram; and the fourth is Rajab which is named after the Mudar tribe; between the month of Jumaida ath-thania and Shaban. Then the Prophet ﷺ asked; Which is this month? We said; Allah and His Apostle know better. On that the Prophet ﷺ kept quiet so long that we thought that he might name it with another name. Then the Prophet ﷺ said; Isnt it the month of Dhu AlHijja? We replied; Yes. Then he said; Which town is this? We replied; Allah and His Apostle know better. On that he kept quiet so long that we thought that he might name it with another name. Then he said; Isnt it the town of Mecca? We replied; Yes; Then he said; Which day is today? We replied; Allah and His Apostle know better. He kept quiet so long that we thought that he might name it with another name. Then he said; Isnt it the day of AlNahr i.e. sacrifice ? We replied; Yes. He said; So your blood; your properties; The sub-narrator Muhammad said; I think the Prophet ﷺ also said: And your honor.. are sacred to one another like the sanctity of this day of yours; in this city of yours; in this month of yours; and surely; you will meet your Lord; and He will ask you about your deeds. Beware! Do not become infidels after me; cutting the throats of one another. It is incumbent on those who are present to convey this message of mine to those who are absent. May be that some of those to whom it will be conveyed will understand it better than those who have actually heard it. The sub-narrator; Muhammad; on remembering that narration; used to say; Muhammad spoke the truth! He i.e. Prophet then added twice; No doubt! SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6806 | Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Noah will be called on the Day of Resurrection and he will say; Labbaik and Sadaik; O my Lord! Allah will say; Did you convey the Message? Noah will say; Yes. His nation will then be asked; Did he convey the Message to you? They will say; No Warner came to us. Then Allah will say to Noah ; Who will bear witness in your favor? He will say; Muhammad and his followers. So they i.e. Muslims will testify that he conveyed the Message. And the Apostle Muhammad will be a witness over yourselves; and that is what is meant by the Statement of Allah Thus We have made of you a just and the best nation that you may be witnesses over mankind and the Apostle Muhammad will be a witness over yourselves. 2.143 | The Chapter on Worship Wealth And Charity in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari |

SahihMuslim-017-001-17336 | Abu Bakra reported that in the Farewell Address Allah Apostle ﷺ said: Time has completed a cycle and come to the state of the day when Allah created the heavens and the earth. The year is constituted of twelve months; of which four are sacred; three of them consecutive; viz. Dh AlQada; Dhu AlHijja and Muharram; and also Rajab the month of Mudar which comes between Jumada and Shaban. He the Holy Prophet then said: which month is this? We said Allah and His Messenger know best. He the narrator said: He the Holy Prophet remained silent for some time until we thought that he would give it a name other than that by which it was known. He said: Is it not Dhal-Hijja? We said: Yes. He the Holy Prophet said: Which city is this? We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He the Holy Prophety remained silent until we thought that he would give it another name. He the Holy Prophet said: Is it not the Balda the city of Mecca ? We said: Yes. He said: What day is this? We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He the Holy Prophet remained silent until we thought that he would give it another name. He said: Is it not the Day of Sacrifice? We said: Allah Messenger. yes. Thereupon he said: Your blood; your property Muhammad; one of the narrators; said: I think; he also said this and your honour are sacred to you like the sacredness of this day of yours; in this city of yours; and in this month of yours. You will soon meet your Lord and He will ask you about your deeds. So do not turn after me unbelievers or misguided ; some of you striking the necks of the others. Behold I let him who is present convey to him who is absent; for many a one whom a message is conveyed has a more retentive memory than one who hears. He again said: Behold! have I not delivered the message to you? They said: Ab AlQisim; you have communicated Allah Message. Behold! there would be turmoil in which the one who would be seated would be better than one who would stand and the one who would stand would be better than one who would run. Behold! when the turmoil comes or it appears; the one who has camel should stick to his camel and he who has sheep or goat should stick to his sheep and goat and he who has land should stick to the land. A person said: Allah Messenger; what is your opinion about one who has neither camel nor sheep nor land? Thereupon; he said: He should take hold of his sword and beat its edge with the help of stone and then try to find a way of escape. O Allah; I have conveyed Thy Message ; O Allah; I have conveyed Thy Message ; O Allah; I have conveyed Thy Message. A person said: Allah Messenger; what is your opinion if I am drawn to a rank in spite of myself; or in one of the groups and made to march and a man strikes with his sword or there comes an arrow and kills me? Thereupon he said: He will bear the punishment of his sin and that of yours and he would be one amongst the denizens of Hell. | The Chapter on Live Stock And Charity in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 3 in Sahih Muslim | |

SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-28822 | Asim Ibn Kulayb quoted his father authority for the following statement by one of the Ansar: We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to a funeral; and I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at the grave giving this instruction to the grave-digger: Make it wide on the side of his feet; and make it wide on the side of his head. When he came back; he was received by a man who conveyed an invitation from a woman. So he came to her ; to it food was brought; and he put his hand i.e. took a morsel in his hand ; the people did the same and they ate. Our fathers noticed that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was moving a morsel around his mouth. He then said: I find the flesh of a sheep which has been taken without its owner permission. The woman sent a message to say: Messenger of Allah; I sent someone to AlNaqi to have a sheep bought for me; but there was none; so I sent a message to my neighbour who had bought a sheep; asking him to send it to me for the price he had paid ; but he could not be found. I; therefore; sent a message to his wife and she sent it to me.
