The Prophet ﷺ ordered us to perform the Tawaf around the Kaba and Sai between AlSafa and AlMarwa and use our lhram just for Umra; and finish the state of Ihram unless we had our Hadi with us. None of us had the Hadi with him except the Prophet ﷺ and Talha. Ali came from Yemen and brought the Hadi with him. Ali said; I had assumed the state of Ihram with the same intention as that with which Allah Messenger ﷺ had assumed it. The people said; How can we proceed to Mina and our male organs are dribbling? Allah Messenger ﷺ said; If I had formerly known what I came to know latterly; I would not have brought the Hadi; and had there been no Hadi with me; I would have finished my Ihram. Suraqa bin Malik met the Prophet ﷺ while he was throwing pebbles at the Jamrat AlAqaba; and asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Is this permitted for us only? The Prophet ﷺ replied. No; it is forever Aisha had arrived at Mecca while she was menstruating; therefore the Prophet ﷺ ordered her to perform all the ceremonies of Hajj except the Tawaf around the Kaba; and not to perform her prayers unless and until she became clean. When they encamped at AlBatha; Aisha said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! You are proceeding after performing both Hajj and Umra while I am proceeding with Hajj only? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1288Narrated Zaid Bin Thabit: Abu Bakr sent for me owing to the large number of casualties in the battle of AlYamama; while Umar was sitting with him. Abu Bakr said to me ; Umar has come to my and said; A great number of Qaris of the Holy Quran were killed on the day of the battle of AlYamama; and I am afraid that the casualties among the Qaris of the Quran may increase on other battle-fields whereby a large part of the Quran may be lost. Therefore I consider it advisable that you Abu Bakr should have the Quran collected. I said; How dare I do something which Allah Messenger ﷺ did not do? Umar said; By Allah; it is something beneficial. Umar kept on pressing me for that till Allah opened my chest for that for which He had opened the chest of Umar and I had in that matter; the same opinion as Umar had. Abu Bakr then said to me Zaid ; You are a wise young man and we do not have any suspicion about you; and you used to write the Divine Inspiration for Allah Messenger ﷺ. So you should search for the fragmentary scripts of the Quran and collect it in one Book. Zaid further said: By Allah; if Abu Bakr had ordered me to shift a mountain among the mountains from one place to another it would not have been heavier for me than this ordering me to collect the Quran. Then I said to Umar and Abu Bakr ; How can you do something which Allah Messenger ﷺ did not do? Abu Bakr said; By Allah; it is something beneficial. Zaid added: So he Abu Bakr kept on pressing me for that until Allah opened my chest for that for which He had opened the chests of Abu Bakr and Umar; and I had in that matter; the same opinion as theirs. So I started compiling the Quran by collecting it from the leafless stalks of the date-palm tree and from the pieces of leather and hides and from the stones; and from the chests of men who had memorized the Quran. I found the last verses of Surat AlTauba: Verily there has come unto you an Apostle Muhammad from amongst yourselves- 9.128-129 from Khuzaima or Abi Khuzaima and I added to it the rest of the Sura. The manuscripts of the Quran remained with Abu Bakr till Allah took him unto Him. O Aasi m! Please ask Allah Messenger ﷺ about this matter on my behalf. Aasi m asked the Prophet ﷺ but the Prophet disliked the question and disapproved of it. Aasi m returned and informed Uwaimir that the Prophet disliked that type of question. Uwaimir said; By Allah; I will go personally to the Prophet. Uwaimir came to the Prophet ﷺ when Allah had already revealed Quranic Verses in that respect ; after Aasi m had left the Prophet ﷺ. So the Prophet ﷺ said to Uwaimir; Allah has revealed Quranic Verses regarding you and your wife. The Prophet ﷺ then called for them; and they came and carried out the order of Lian. Then Uwaimir said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Now if I kept her with me; I would be accused of telling a lie. So Uwaimir divorced her although the Prophet ﷺ did not order him to do so. Later on this practice of divorcing became the tradition of couples involved in a case of Lian. The Prophet ﷺ said to the people. Wait for her! If she delivers a red short small child like a Wahra a short red animal. then I will be of the opinion that he Uwaimir has told a lie but if she delivered a black big-eyed one with big buttocks; then I will be of the opinion that he has told the truth about her. Ultimately she gave birth to a child that proved the accusation. Then he heard that we were saying; When there remains only five days between us and the Day of Arafat he orders us to finish our Ihram by sleeping with our wives in which case we will proceed to Arafat with our male organs dribbling with semen? Jabir pointed out with his hand illustrating what he was saying. Allah Messenger ﷺ stood up and said; You People know that I am the most Allah-fearing; the most truthful and the best doer of good deeds pious from among you. If they refused to pay me even a kid they used to pay to Allah Messenger ﷺ ; I would fight with them for withholding it. SahihMuslim-017-001-18040It is reported by Zuhri that this tradition was narrated to him by Malik Bin Aus who said: Umar Bin AlKhattab sent for me and I came to him when the day had advanced. I found him in his house sitting on his bare bed-stead; reclining on a leather pillow. He said to me : Malik; some people of your tribe have hastened to me with a request for help. I have ordered a little money for them. Take it and distribute it among them. I said: I wish you had ordered somebody else to do this job. He said: Malik; take it and do what you have been told. At this moment his man-servant Yarfa came in and said: Commander of the Faithful; what do you say about Uthman; Abd AlRabman Bin Auf; AlZubair and Saad who have come to seek an audience with you ? He said: Yes; and permitted them. so they entered. Then he Yarfa came again and said: What do you say about Ali and Abbas who are present at the door ? He said: Yes; and permitted them to enter. Abbas said: Commander of the Faithful; decide the dispute between me and this sinful; treacherous; dishonest liar. The people who were present also said: Yes. Commander of the Faithful; do decide the dispute and have mercy on them. Malik Bin Aus said: I could well imagine that they had sent them in advance for this purpose by Ali and Abbas. Umar said: Wait and be patient. I adjure you by Allah by Whose order the heavens and the earth are sustained; dont you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: We prophets do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is to be given in charity? They said: Yes. Then he turned to Abbas and Ali and said: I adjure you both by Allah by Whose order the heavens and earth are sustained; dont you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: We do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is to be given in charity? They too said: Yes. Then Umar said: Allah; the Glorious and Exalted; had done to His Messenger ﷺ a special favour that He has not done to anyone else except him. He quoted the Quranic verse: What Allah has bestowed upon His Apostle from the properties of the people of township is for Allah and His Messenger. The narrator said: I do not know whether he also recited the previous verse or not. Umar continued: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distrbuted among you the properties abandoned by Banu Nadir. By Allah; he never preferred himself over you and never appropriated anything to your exclusion. After a fair distribution in this way this property was left over. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would meet from its income his annual expenditure; and what remained would be deposited in the Bait AlMal. Continuing further he said: I adjure you by Allah by Whose order the heavens and the earth are sustained. Do you know this? They said: Yes. Then he adjured Abbas and All as he had adjured the other persons and asked: Do you both know this? They said: Yes. He said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away; Abu Bakr said: I am the successor of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Both of you came to demand your shares from the property left behind by the Messenger of Allah. Referring to Hadrat Abbas ; he said: You demanded your share from the property of your nephew; and he referring to Ali demanded a share on behalf of his wife from the property of her father. Abu Bakr Allah be pleased with him said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had said: We do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is to be given in charity. So both of you thought him to be a liar; sinful; treacherous and dishonest. And Allah knows that he was true; virtuous; well-guided and a follower of truth. When Abu Bakr passed away and I have become the successor of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Abu Bakr Allah be pleased with him ; you thought me to be a liar; sinful; treacherous and dishonest. And Allah knows that I am true; virtuous; well-guided and a follower of truth. I became the guardian of this property. Then you as well as he came to me. Both of you have come and your purpose is identical. You said: Entrust the property to us. I said: If you wish that I should entrust it to you; it will be on the condition that both of you will undertake to abide by a pledge made with Allah that you will use it in the same way as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used it. So both of you got it. He said: Wasnt it like this? They said: Yes. He said: Then you have again come to me with the request that I should adjudge between you. No; by Allah. I will not give any other judgment except this until the arrival of the Doomsday. If you are unable to hold the property on this condition; return it to me.The Chapter on Contracts And Disputes Management in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 15 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18085It has been narrated on the authority of Anas that when the news of the advance of Abu Sufyan at the head of a force reached him. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ held consultations with his Companions. The narrator said: Abu Bakr spoke expressing his own views ; but he the Holy Prophet did not pay heed to him. Then spoke Umar expressing his views ; but he the Holy Prophet did not pay heed to him too. Then Saad Bin Ubada stood up and said: Messenger of Allah; you want us to speak. By God in Whose control is my life; if you order us to plunge our horses into the sea; we would do so. If you order us to goad our horses to the most distant place like Bark AlGhimad; we would do so. The narrator said: Now the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called upon the people for the encounter. So they set out and encamped at Badr. Soon the water-carriers of the Quraish arrived. Among them was a black slave belonging to Banu AlHajjaj. The Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ caught him and interrogated him about Abu Sufyan and his companions. He said: I know nothing about Abu Sufyan; but Abu Jahl; Utba; Shaiba and Umaya Bin Khalaf are there. When he said this; they beat him. Then he said: All right; I will tell you about Abu Sufyan. They would stop beating him and then ask him again about Abu Sufyan. He would again say; I know nothing about Abu Sufyan; but Abu Jahl. Utba; Shaiba and Umaya Bin Khalaf are there. When he said this; they beat him likewise. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was standing in prayer. When he saw this he finished his prayer and said: By Allah in Whose control is my life; you beat him when he is telling you the truth; and you let him go when he tells you a lie. The narrator said: Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: This is the place where so and so would be killed. He placed his hand on the earth saying here and here; and none of them fell away from the place which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had indicated by placing his hand on the earth. The Chapter on Hand Gestures Swords in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 30 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18117It has been narrated on the authority of Aisha; the wife of the Prophet ﷺ ; who said to the Messenger of Allah may peace he upon him : Messenger of Allah; has there come upon you a day more terrible than the day of Uhud. He said: I have experienced from thy people and the hardest treatment I met from them was what I received from them on the day of Aqaba. I betook myself to Ibn Abd Yalil Bin Abd Kulal with the purpose of inviting him to Islam; but he did not respond to me as I desired. So I departed with signs of deep distress on my face. I did not recover until I reached Qarn AlThaalib. Where I raised my head; lo! near me was a cloud which had cast its shadow on me. I looked and lo! there was in it the angel Jibril who called out to me and said: God; the Honoured and Glorious; has heard what thy people have said to thee; and how they have reacted to thy call. And He has sent to thee the angel in charge of the mountains so that thou mayest order him what thou wishest him to do with regard to them. The angel in charge of the mountains then called out to me; greeted me and said: Muhammad; God has listened to what thy people have said to thee. I am the angel in charge of the mountains; and thy Lord has sent me to thee so that thou mayest order me what thou wishest. If thou wishest that I should bring together the two mountains that stand opposite to each other at the extremities of Mecca to crush them in between; I would do that. It; therefore; pleased us that an intelligent person from the dwellers of the desert should come and asked him the Holy Prophet and we should listen to it. A man from the dwellers of the desert came to the Holy Prophet and said: Muhammad; your messenger came to us and told us your assertion that verily Allah had sent you as a prophet. He the Holy Prophet remarked: He told the truth. He the bedouin said: Who created the heaven? He the Holy Prophet replied: Allah. He the bedouin again said: Who created the earth? He the Holy Prophet replied: Allah. He the bedouin again said: Who raised these mountains and who created in them whatever is created there? He the Holy Prophet replied: Allah. SahihMuslim-017-001-19244Abu Saeed AlKhudri reported Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying: The Dajjal would come forth and a person from amongst the believers would go towards him and the armed men of the Dajjal would meet him and they would say to him: Where do you intend to go? He would say: I intend to go to this one who is coming forth. They would say to him: Dont you believe in our Lord? He would say: There is nothing hidden about our Lord. They would say: Kill him. Then some amongst them would say: Has your master Dajjal not forbidden you to kill anyone without his consent ? And so they would take him to the Dajjal and when the believer would see him; he would say: O people. he is the Dajjil about whom Allah Messenger ﷺ has informed us. The Dajjal would then order for breaking his head and utter these words : Catch hold of him and break his head. He would be struck even on his back and on his stomach. Then the Dajjal would ask him: Dont you believe in me? He would say: You are a false Masih. He would then order him to be torn into pieces with a saw from the parting of his hair up to his legs. After that the Dajjal would walk between the two pieces. He would then say to him: Stand; and he would stand erect. He would then say to him: Dont you believe in me? And the person would say: It has only added to my insight concerning you that you are really the Dajjal. He would then say: O people; he would not behave with anyone amongst people in such a manner after me. The Dajjal would try to catch hold of him so that he should kill him again. The space between his neck and collar bone would be turned into copper and he would find no means to kill him. So he would catch hold of him by his hand and feet and throw him into the air and the people would think as if he had been thrown in the Hell-Fire whereas he would be thrown in Paradise. I looked towards it and found a snake. I jumped up in order to kill it; but he Abu Saeed Khudri made a gesture that I should sit down. So I sat down and as he finished the prayer he pointed to a room in the house and said: Do you see this room? I said: Yes. He said: There was a young man amongst us who had been newly wedded. We went with Allah Messenger ﷺ to participate in the Battle of Trench when a young man in the midday used to seek permission from Allah Messenger ﷺ to return to his family. One day he sought permission from him and Allah Messenger ﷺ after granting him the permission said to him: Carry your weapons with you for I fear the tribe of Quraidha may harm you. The man carried the weapons and then came back and found his wife standing between the two doors. He bent towards her smitten by jealousy and made a dash towards her with a spear in order to stab her. She said: Keep your spear away and enter the house until you see that which has made me come out. He entered and found a big snake coiled on the bedding. He darted with the spear and pierced it and then went out having fixed it in the house; but the snake quivered and attacked him and no one knew which of them died first; the snake or the young man. We came to Allah Apostle ﷺ and made a mention to him and said: Supplicate to Allah that that man may be brought back to life. Thereupon he said: Ask forgiveness for your companion and then said: There are in Medina jinns who have accepted Islam; so when you see any one of them; pronounce a warning to it for three days; and if they appear before you after that; then kill it for that is a devil. The Chapter on Premises in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 37 in Sahih Muslim

SunanAlTermithi-017-001-7417Hamnah bint Jahsh narrated: I had a case of blood flow that was severe and excessive. So I went to the Prophet to inform him and ask him about it. I found him in the house of my sister Zainab bint Jahsh. I said; O Messenger of Allah! I suffer from a case of severe and excessive blood flow. So what do you order me to do for it; and does this prevent me from fasting and performing Prayer? He said: Tie a cotton rag around yourself and the bIood will go away. I said; It is more than that. He said: Make it tight. I said; It is more than that. He said: Then use a cloth to bind it. I said; it is more than that. It flows too much. So the Prophet said: I will order you to do one of two things; which ever of them you do; it will be acceptable for you. You should know which of them you are able to do. Then he said: This is only a blow from Shaitan. Menstruate for six or seven days; which Allah knows; then perform Ghusl. When you see that you have become pure and clean; then perform Prayer for twenty-three or twenty-four nights and their days. Perform Prayer and fast; and that will be acceptable for you. So do this if you can just as other women who menstruate and become pure during their periods of menstruation and purity. If not; and you are able to delay Zuhr and hasten Asr then perform Ghusl when you have become pure; and pray Zuhr and Asr together. Then delay Maghrib and hasten Isha; then perform Ghusl and combine the two prayers. So do this if you are able. Then perform Ghusl with the dawn and pray. Do this; and fast if you are able to do so. Then he sent for the chiefs of Banu AlNajjar; and they came with their swords by their sides. It is as if I can see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on his camel with Abu Bakr riding behind him on the same camel and the chiefs of Banu AlNajjar around him; until he dismounted in the courtyard of Abu Ayoub. The Prophet ﷺ used to offer the prayer wherever he was when the time for prayer came; and he would pray even in sheepfolds. Then he ordered that the Masjid be built. He sent for the chiefs of Banu AlNajjar; and when they came; he said: O Banu AlNajjar; name me a price for this grove of yours. They said: By Allah; we will not ask for its price except from Allah. Anas said: In that grove there were graves of idolators; ruins and date-palm trees. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that the graves of the idolators be dug up; the ruins be leveled and the date-palm trees be cut down. The trunks of the trees were arranged so as to form the walls facing the Qiblah. The stone pillars were built at the sides of its gate. Aisha said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; when the rim of the sun appeared; sat down on the pulpit; and having pronounced the greatness of Allah and expressed His praise; he said: You have complained of drought in your homes; and of the delay in receiving rain at the beginning of its season. Allah has ordered you to supplicate Him has and promised that He will answer your prayer. Then he said: Praise be to Allah; the Lord of the Universe; the Compassionate; the Merciful; the Master of the Day of Judgment. There is no god but Allah Who does what He wishes. O Allah; Thou art Allah; there is no deity but Thou; the Rich; while we are the poor. Send down the rain upon us and make what Thou sendest down a strength and satisfaction for a time. He then raised his hands; and kept raising them till the whiteness under his armpits was visible. He then turned his back to the people and inverted or turned round his cloak while keeping his hands aloft. He then faced the people; descended and prayed two rakahs. Allah then produced a cloud; and the storm of thunder and lightning came on. Then the rain fell by Allah permission; and before he reached his Masjid streams were flowing. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-28058Abu Hazim Bin Dinar said: People came to Sahl Bin Saad AlSaidi; when they were doubtful about the kind of wood of the pulpit in the Masjid of the Prophet. They asked him about it. He said: By Allah; I know the wood of which it was made; I saw it the first day when it was placed there; and the first day when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat on it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent for a woman whom Sahl named and asked her: Order your boy; the carpenter; to construct for me a wooden pulpit so that I sit on it when I deliver a speech to the people. So she ordered him and he made a pulpit of a wood called tarfa taken from AlGhabah a place at a distance of nine miles from Medina. He brought it to her. She sent it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He ordered and that was placed here. I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying on it: he said: Allah is most great; he then bowed while he was on it; then he returned and prostrated in the root of the pulpit; he then returned to the pulpit. When he finished the prayer ; he addressed himself to the people and said: O people; I did this so that you may follow me and know my prayer. The Chapter on Pulpit And Khutba And Commands in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on On Taking Minbars in Sunan Abu Dawoud

We entered upon him and said: Messenger of Allah; we have visited you; so pray Allah what is good for us. He ordered to give us some dates. The Muslims in those days were weak. We stayed there for several days and offered the Friday prayer along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He stood leaning on a staff or a bow. He praised Allah and exalted Him in light; pure and blessed words. Then he said: O people; you have no power to obey or you cannot obey what you are ordered. MuwataMalik-017-001-34708Yahya related to me from Malik from Suhayl Ibn Abi Salih from his father from Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; gave hospitality to a kafir guest. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered a sheep to be brought for him and it was milked. He drank its milk. Then another came; and he drank it. Then another came and he drank it until he had drunk the milk of seven sheep. In the morning he became muslim; and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered a sheep for him. It was milked and he drank its milk. MuwataMalik-017-001-34722Yahya related to me from Malik from Wahb Ibn Kaysan that Jabir Ibn Abdullah said; The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; sent a delegation to the coast. Abu Ubayda Ibn AlJarrah was in command of them. There were 300 people and I was among them. We went out until we had gone part of the way and our provisions were finished. Abu Ubayda ordered that the provisions of the army be gathered up and they amounted to two containers of dates. He used to give us a little provision from it each day until it was finished; and we used to have only a single date each. I said; What use is one date? He said; We will certainly feel its loss when they are finished. Jabir continued; Then we reached the sea and there was a fish like a small mountain. The army ate from it for eighteen nights. Then Abu Ubayda ordered two ribs from it to be set up. Then he commanded that a camel be ridden underneath them and it did not touch them. The Chapter on Throwing And Satan Knots in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Purity in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-34919Yahya said that he heard Malik say; What is done in our community about a man who rents an animal for a journey to a specified place and then he goes beyond that place and further; is that the owner of the animal has a choice. If he wants to take extra rent for his animal to cover the distance overstepped; he is given that on top of the first rent and the animal is returned. If the owner of the animal likes to sell the animal from the place where he over-steps; he has the price of the animal on top of the rent. If; however; the hirer rented the animal to go and return and then he overstepped when he reached the city to which he rented him; the owner of the animal only has half the first rent. That is because half of the rent is going; and half of it is returning. If he oversteps with the animal; only half of the first rent is obliged for him. Had the animal died when he reached the city to which it was rented; the hirer would not be liable and the renter would only have half the rent. Malik said; That is what is done with people who overstep and dispute about what they took the animal for. Malik said; It is also like that with some one who takes qirad-money from his companion. The owner of the property says to him; Do not buy such-and-such animals or such- and-such goods. He names them and forbids them and disapproves of his money being invested in them. The one who takes the money then buys what he was forbidden. By that; he intends to be liable for the money and take the profit of his companion. When he does that; the owner of the money has an option. If he wants to enter with him in the goods according to the original stipulations between them about the profit; he does so. If he likes; he has his capital guaranteed against the one who took the capital and over stepped the mark. Malik said; It is also like that with a man with whom another man invests some goods. The owner of the property orders him to buy certain goods for him which he names. He differs; and buys with the goods something other than what he was ordered to buy. He exceeded his orders. The owner of the goods has an option. If he wants to take what was bought with his property; he takes it. If he wants the partner to be liable for his capital he has that. The Chapter on Forbidden Financial Transaction in HodHood Indexing, The Book of The Evil Eye in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-34941Malik related to me from Amr Ibn Yahya AlMazini from his father that AlDahhak Ibn Khalifa watered his irrigation ditch from a large source of water. He wanted to have it pass through the land of Muhammad Ibn Maslama; and Muhammad refused. AlDahhak said to him; Why do you prevent me? It will benefit you. You can drink from it first and last and it will not harm you. Muhammed refused so AlDahhak spoke about it to Umar Ibn AlKhattab; and Umar Ibn AlKhattab summoned Muhammad Ibn Maslama and ordered him to clear the way. Muhammad said; No. Umar said; Why do you prevent your brother from what will benefit him and is also useful for you? You will take water from it first and last and it will not harm you. Muhammad said; No; by Allah! Umar said; By Allah; he will pass it through; even if it is over your belly! MuwataMalik-017-001-35026Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that he was asked about the suckling of an older person. He said; Urwa Ibn AlZubair informed me that Abu Hudhayfa Ibn Utba Ibn Rabia; one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; who was present at Badr; adopted Salim who is called Salim; the mawla of Abu Hudhayfa as the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; adopted Zayd Ibn Haritha. He thought of him as his son; and Abu Hudhayfa married him to his brother sister; Fatima bint AlWalid Ibn Utba Ibn Rabia; who was at that time among the first emigrants. She was one of the best unmarried women of the Quraysh. When Allah the Exalted sent down in His Book what He sent down about Zayd Ibn Haritha; Call them after their true fathers. That is more equitable in the sight of Allah. If you do not know who their fathers were then they are your brothers in the deen and your mawali; Surat 33 ayat 5 people in this position were traced back to their fathers. When the father was not known; they were traced to their mawla. Sahla bint Suhayl who was the wife of Abu Hudhayfa; and one of the tribe of Amr Ibn Luay; came to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and said; Messenger of Allah! We think of Salim as a son and he comes in to see me while I am uncovered. We only have one room; so what do you think about the situation? The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Give him five drinks of your milk and he will be mahram by it. She then saw him as a foster son. Aisha umm Almuminin took that as a precedent for whatever men she wanted to be able to come to see her. She ordered her sister; Umm Kulthum bint Abi Bakr AlSiddiq and the daughters of her brother to give milk to whichever men she wanted to be able to come in to see her. The rest of the wives of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; refused to let anyone come in to them by such nursing. They said; No! By Allah! We think that what the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered Sahla bint Suhayl to do was only an indulgence concerning the nursing of Salim alone. No! By Allah! No one will come in upon us by such nursing! This is what the wives of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; thought about the suckling of an older person. The Chapter on Permission To Enter The House in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Setting Free and Wala in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35189Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Umar Ibn AlKhattab had heard in a letter from Iraq that a man said to his wife; Your rein is on your withers i.e. you have free rein. Umar Ibn AlKhattab wrote to his governor to order the man to come to him at Makka at the time of hajj. While Umar was doing tawaf around the House; a man met him and greeted him. Umar asked him who he was; and he replied that he was the man that he had ordered to be brought to him. Umar said to him; I ask you by the Lord of this building; what did you mean by your statement; Your rein is on your withers.? MuwataMalik-017-001-35395Yahya related to me from Malik that Humayd Ibn Qays and Thawr Ibn Zayd adDili both informed him that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and one of them gave more detail than the other ;saw a man standing in the sun. The Messenger asked; What wrong with him? The people said; He has vowed not to speak or to seek shade from the sun or to sit and to fast. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Go and tell him to speak; seek shade; and sit; but let him complete his fast. Malik said; I have not heard that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered the man in question to do any kaffara. MuwataMalik-017-001-35565Yahya related to me from Malik from Ayoub Ibn Abi Tamima AlSakhtayani that Umar Ibn Abd AlAziz; when writing about wealth that one of his governors had collected unjustly; ordered it to be returned to its owner and zakat to be taken from it for the years that had passed. MuwataMalik-017-001-35593Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd Ibn Aslam from his father that he said to Umar Ibn AlKhattab; There is a blind camel behind the house; soUmar said; Hand it over to a household so that they can make some use of it. He said; But she is blind. Umar replied; Then put it in a line with other camels. He said; How will it be able to eat from the ground? Umar asked; Is it from the livestock of the jizya or the zakat? and Aslam replied; From the livestock of the jizya. Umar said; By AIIah; you wish to eat it. Aslam said; It has the brand of the jizya on it. So Umar ordered it to be slaughtered. He had nine platters; and on each of the platters he put some of every fruit and delicacy that there was and then sent them to the wives of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and the one he sent to his daughter Hafsa was the last of them all; and if there was any deficiency in any of them it was in Hafsa portion. He put meat from the slaughtered animal on the platters and sent them to the wives of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and he ordered what was left of the meat of the slaughtered animal to be prepared. Then he invited the Muhajirun and the Ansar to eat it. MuwataMalik-017-001-36216Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Said Ibn AlMusayab that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; travelled by night on the way back from Khaybar.Towards the end of the night he stopped for a rest and told Bilal to stay awake to keep watch for the subh prayer. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and his companions slept. Bilal stayed on guard as long as was decreed for him and then he leant against his riding camel facing the direction of the dawn and sleep overcame him and neither he nor the Messenger of Allah nor any of the party woke up until the sun rays had struck them. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; was alarmed. Bilal excused himself; saying; Messenger of Allah! The One who took your self was the One who took myself. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered the party to move on and so they roused thei r mounts and rode on a short distance. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered Bilal to give the iqama and then led them in the subh prayer. When he had finished he said; Anyone who forgets a prayer should pray it when he remembers. MuwataMalik-017-001-36217Yahya related to me from Malik that Zayd Ibn Aslam said; The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; stopped for a rest one night on the way to Makka and appointed Bilal to wake them up for the prayer. Bilal slept and everyone else slept and none of them woke up until the sun had risen. When they did wake up they were all alarmed. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered them to ride out of the valley; saying that there was a shaytan in it. So they rode out of the valley and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered them to dismount and do Ablution and he told Bilal either to call the prayer or to give the iqama. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; then led them in the prayer. Noticing their uneasiness; he went to them and said; O people! Allah seized our spirits arwah and if He had wished He would have returned them to us at a time other than this. So if you sleep through the time for a prayer or forget it and then are anxious about it; pray it as if you were praying it in its time. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; turned to Abu Bakr and said; Shaytan came to Bilal when he was standing in prayer and made him lie down and lulled him to sleep like a small boy. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; then called Bilal and told him the same as he had told Abu Bakr.
