4. Jabir said We went out along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raising our voices in talbiyah for Hakk alone Ifrad while Aisha raised her voice in talbiyah for an Umrah. When she reached Sarif; she menstruated. When we came to Makkah we circumambulated the Kabah and ran between AlSafa and AlMarwah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then commanded us that those who had not brought sacrificial animals withthem should put off their ihram after Umrah. We asked Which acts are lawful and which not ? He replied All acts are lawful that are permissible usually. We had therefore intercourse with our wives; used perfumes; put on our clothes. There remained only four days to perform Hajj at Arafah. We then raised our voice in talbiyah wearing Ihram for Hajj on the eighth of Dhu AlHijja. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon Aisha and found her weeping. He said What is the matter with you? My problem is that I have menstruated; while the people have put on their ihram but I have not done so; nor did I go round the House the Kabah. Now the people are proceeding for Hajj. He said This is a thing destined by Allah to the daughters of Adam. Take a bath; then raise your voice in talbiyah for Hajj i.e; wear ihram for Hajj. She took a abtah and performed all the rites of the Hajj lit. she stayed at all those places where the pilgrims stay. When she was purified; she circumambulated the House the Kabah ; and ran between AlSafa and AlMarwah. He the Prophet said Now you have performed both your Hajj and your Umrah. She said Messenger of Allah; I have some misgiving in my mind that I did not go round the Kabah when I performed Hajj in the beginning. 5. Narrated Muhammad Bin Abdulrahman Bin Nawfal AlQurashi: I asked Urwa Bin AlZubair regarding the Hajj of the Prophet ﷺ. Urwa replied; Aisha narrated; When the Prophet ﷺ reached Mecca; the first thing he started with was the ablution; then he performed Tawaf of the Kaba and his intention was not Umra alone but Hajj and Umra together. Later Abu Bakr I performed the Hajj and the first thing he started with was Tawaf of the Kaba and it was not Umra alone but Hajj and Umra together. And then Umar did the same. Then Uthman performed the Hajj and the first thing he started with was Tawaf of the Kaba and it was not Umra alone. And then Muawiya and Abdullah Bin Umar did the same. I performed Hajj with Ibn AlZubair and the first thing he started with was Tawaf of the Kaba and it was not Umra alone; but Hajj and Umra together. Then I saw the Muhajirin Emigrants and Ansar doing the same and it was not Umra alone. And the last person I saw doing the same was Ibn Umar; and he did not do another Umra after finishing the first. Now here is Ibn Umar present amongst the people! They neither ask him nor anyone of the previous ones. And all these people; on entering Mecca; would not start with anything unless they had performed Tawaf of the Kaba; and would not finish their Ihram. And no doubt; I saw my mother and my aunt; on entering Mecca doing nothing before performing Tawaf of the Kaba; and they would not finish their lhram. And my mother informed me that she; her sister; AlZubair and such and such persons had assumed lhram for Umra and after passing their hands over the Corner the Black Stone i.e. finishing their Umra they finished their Ihram. 6. Narrated Abu Mousa AlAshari: I came to the Prophet ﷺ at AlBatha while his camel was kneeling down and he asked me; Have you intended to perform the Hajj? I replied in the affirmative. Ibn Umar said; Verily; in Allah Messenger ﷺ you have a good example. And if it happened as you say then I would do the same as Allah Messenger ﷺ had done. I make you witness that I have decided to perform Umra. Then he set out and when he reached AlBaida; he said; The ceremonies of both Hajj and Umra are similar. I make you witness that I have made Hajj compulsory for me along with Umra. He drove to Mecca a Hadi which he had bought from a place called Qudaid and did not do more than that. He did not slaughter the Hadi or finish his Ihram; or shave or cut short his hair till the day of slaughtering the sacrifices 10th Dhu AlHijja. 4. Narrated Ibn Umar: During the last Hajj Hajj AlWada of Allah Messenger ﷺ he performed Umra and Hajj. He drove a Hadi along with him from Dhu AlHulaifa. Allah Messenger ﷺ started by assuming Ihram for Umra and Hajj. And the people; too; performed the Umra and Hajj along with the Prophet. Some of them brought the Hadi and drove it along with them; while the others did not. So; when the Prophet ﷺ arrived at Mecca. he said to the people; Whoever among you has driven the Hadi; should not finish his Ihram till he completes his Hajj. And whoever among you has not driven the Hadi with him; should perform Tawaf of the Kaba and the Tawaf between Safa and Marwa; then cut short his hair and finish his Ihram; and should later assume Ihram for Hajj; but he must offer a Hadi sacrifice ; and if anyone cannot afford a Hadi; he should fast for three days during the Hajj and seven days when he returns home. The Prophet ﷺ performed Tawaf of the Kaba on his arrival at Mecca ; he touched the Black Stone corner first of all and then did Ramal fast walking with moving of the shoulders during the first three rounds round the Kaba; and during the last four rounds he walked. After finishing Tawaf of the Kaba; he offered a two rakat prayer at Maqam Ibrahim; and after finishing the prayer he went to Safa and Marwa and performed seven rounds of Tawaf between them and did not do any deed forbidden because of Ihram; till he finished all the ceremonies of his Hajj and sacrificed his Hadi on the day of Nahr 10th day of Dhu AlHijja. Some people said to him; It is very likely that there will be a fight among the people; and we are afraid that they might prevent you from performing Hajj. He replied; Verily; in Allah Messenger ﷺ there is a good example for you to follow. In this case I would do the same as he had done. I make you witness that I have intended to perform Umra. When he reached AlBaida; he said; The conditions for both Hajj and Umra are the same. I make you witness that I have intended to perform Hajj along with Umra. After that he took a garlanded Hadi to Mecca which he bought on the way. When he reached Mecca ; he performed Tawaf of the Kaba and of Safa and Marwa and did not do more than that. He did not make legal for himself the things which were illegal for a Muhrim till it was the Day of Nahr sacrifice ; when he had his head shaved and slaughtered the sacrifice and considered sufficient his first Tawaf between Safa and Marwa ; as a Sai for his Hajj and Umra both. 6. Jabir said We went out along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raising our voices in talbiyah for Hakk alone Ifrad while Aisha raised her voice in talbiyah for an Umrah. When she reached Sarif; she menstruated. When we came to Makkah we circumambulated the Kabah and ran between AlSafa and AlMarwah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then commanded us that those who had not brought sacrificial animals withthem should put off their ihram after Umrah. We asked Which acts are lawful and which not ? He replied All acts are lawful that are permissible usually. We had therefore intercourse with our wives; used perfumes; put on our clothes. There remained only four days to perform Hajj at Arafah. We then raised our voice in talbiyah wearing Ihram for Hajj on the eighth of Dhu AlHijja. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon Aisha and found her weeping. He said What is the matter with you? My problem is that I have menstruated; while the people have put on their ihram but I have not done so; nor did I go round the House the Kabah. Now the people are proceeding for Hajj. He said This is a thing destined by Allah to the daughters of Adam. Take a bath; then raise your voice in talbiyah for Hajj i.e; wear ihram for Hajj. She took a abtah and performed all the rites of the Hajj lit. she stayed at all those places where the pilgrims stay. When she was purified; she circumambulated the House the Kabah ; and ran between AlSafa and AlMarwah. He the Prophet said Now you have performed both your Hajj and your Umrah. She said Messenger of Allah; I have some misgiving in my mind that I did not go round the Kabah when I performed Hajj in the beginning. He said Abdulrahman her brother ; take her and have her perform Umrah from AlTanim. This happened on the night of AlHasbah i.e.; the fourteenth of Dhu AlHijja. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25450
7. Ibn Abbas said that he has been asked regarding Hajj AlTamattu on which he said; The Muhajirin and the Ansar and the wives of the Prophet ﷺ and we did the same. When we reached Makkah; Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Give up your intention of doing the Hajj at this moment and perform Umra; except the one who had garlanded the Hady. So; we performed Tawaf round the Kabah and [Say] between AlSafa and AlMArwa; slept with our wives and wore ordinary stitched clothes. The Prophet ﷺ added; Whoever has garlanded his Hady is not allowed to finish the Ihram till the Hady has reached its destination has been sacrificed. Then on the night of Tarwiya 8th Dhul Hijjah; in the afternoon he ordered us to assume Ihram for Hajj and when we have performed all the ceremonies of Hajj; we came and performed Tawaf round the Kabah and Say between AlSafa and AlMarwa; and then our Hajj was complete; and we had to sacrifice a Hady according to the statement of Allah:... He must slaughter a Hady such as he can afford; but if he cannot afford it; he should observer Saum fasts three days during the Hajj and seven days after his return to his home. V. 2:196.And the sacrifice of the sheep is sufficient. So; the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions honied the two religious deeds; i.e. Hajj and Umra in one year; for Allah revealed the permissibility of such practice in His book and in the Sunna legal ways of His Prophet ﷺ and rendered it permissible for all the people except those living in Makkah. Allah says: This is for him whose family is not present at the AlMasjid AlHaram; i.e. non resident of Makkah. The months of Hajj which Allah mentioned in His book are: Shawal; Dh AlQada and Dhu AlHijja. Whoever performed Hajj AlTamattu in those months; then slaughtering or fasting is compulsory for him.The words: 1. AlRafatha means sexual intercourse. 2. AlFasuq means all kinds of sin; and 3. 8. Jabir Allah be pleased with him said: We; in the state of lhram; came with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for Hajj Mufrad with the aim of Hajj only ; and Aisha set out for Umra; and when we reached Sarif; she Hadrat Aisha entered in the state of monthly period; we proceeded on till we reached Mecca and circumambulated the Kaba and ran between AlSafa and AlMarwa; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded that one who amongst us had no sacrificial animal with him should put off Ihram. We said: What does this putting off imply? He said: Getting out completely from the state of lhram; so we put off Ihram ; and we turned to our wives and applied perfume and put on our clothes. and we were at a four night distance from Arafa. And we again put on Ihram on the day of Tarwiya 8th of Dhu AlHijja. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Aisha Allah be pleased with her and found her weeping; and said: What is the matter with you? She said: The matter is that I have entered in the monthly period; and the people had put off lhram; but I did not and I did not circumambulate the House; and the people are going for Hajj now but I cant go ; whereupon he said: It is the matter which Allah has ordained for the daughters of Adam; so now take a bath and put on Ihram for Hajj. She Aisha did accordingly; and stayed at the places of staying till the monthly period was over. She then circumambulated the House; and ran between AlSafa and AlMarwa. He the Holy Prophet then said: Now both your Hajj and Umra are complete; whereupon she said: I feel in my mind that I did not circumambulate the House till I performed Hajj I missed the circumambulation of Umra. Thereupon he Allah Apostle said: Abdulrahman take her to Tanim so as to enable her to perform Umra separately ; and it was the night at Hasba. SahihMuslim-017-001-22854
9. Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas: The sister of Uqbah Ibn Amir took a vow that she would perform hajj on foot; and she was unable to do so. The Prophet ﷺ said: Allah is not in need of the walking of your sister. She must ride and offer a sacrificial camel. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-28568
10. Narrated Aisha: that the Prophet ﷺ entered upon her when she had her menses at Sarif before entering Mecca; and she was weeping because she was afraid that she would not be able to perform the Hajj. The Prophet ﷺ said; What is wrong with you? Have you got your period? She said; Yes. He said; This is a matter Allah has decreed for all the daughters of Adam; so perform all the ceremonies of Hajj like the others; but do not perform the Tawaf around the Kaba. Aisha added: When we were at Mina; beef was brought to me and I asked; What is this? They the people said; Allah Messenger ﷺ has slaughtered some cows as sacrifices on behalf of his wives.
