SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1359 | Narrated Anas: The people started asking the Prophet ﷺ too many questions importunately. So one day he ascended the pulpit and said; You will not ask me any question but I will explain it to you. I looked right and left; and behold; every man was covering his head with his garment and weeping. Then got up a man who; whenever quarreling with somebody; used to be accused of not being the son of his father. He said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Who is my father? The Prophet ﷺ replied; Your father is Hudhaifa. Then Umar got up and said; We accept Allah as our Lord; Islam as our religion and Muhammad as our Apostle and we seek refuge with Allah from the evil of afflictions. The Prophet ﷺ said; I have never seen the good and bad like on this day. No doubt; Paradise and Hell was displayed in front of me till I saw them in front of that wall; Qatada said: This Hadith used to be mentioned as an explanation of this Verse:- O you who believe! Ask not questions about things which; if made plain to you; may cause you trouble. 5.101 | The Chapter on Moses And Prophets Stone And Bani Isreal in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To seek refuge with Allah from AlFitan in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1424 | Narrated Abu Mousa AlAshari: Allah Messenger ﷺ was asked about things which he disliked; and when the people asked too many questions; he became angry and said; Ask me any question. A man got up and said; O Allah Apostle! Who is my father? The Prophet ﷺ replied; Your father is Hudhaifa. Then another man got up and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Who is my father? The Prophet ﷺ said; Your father is Salim; Maula Shaiba. When Umar saw the signs of anger on the face of Allah Messenger ﷺ ; he said; We repent to Allah. | The Chapter on Forgiveness And Mercy in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Asking too many questions and troubling with what does not concern one in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1437 | Narrated Sahl Bin Saad AlSaidi: Uwaimir AlAjlani came to Aasi m Bin Adi and said; If a man found another man with his wife and killed him; would you sentence the husband to death in Qisas; i.e.; equality in punishment ? O Aasi m! Please ask Allah Messenger ﷺ about this matter on my behalf. Aasi m asked the Prophet ﷺ but the Prophet disliked the question and disapproved of it. Aasi m returned and informed Uwaimir that the Prophet disliked that type of question. Uwaimir said; By Allah; I will go personally to the Prophet. Uwaimir came to the Prophet ﷺ when Allah had already revealed Quranic Verses in that respect ; after Aasi m had left the Prophet ﷺ. So the Prophet ﷺ said to Uwaimir; Allah has revealed Quranic Verses regarding you and your wife. The Prophet ﷺ then called for them; and they came and carried out the order of Lian. Then Uwaimir said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Now if I kept her with me; I would be accused of telling a lie. So Uwaimir divorced her although the Prophet ﷺ did not order him to do so. Later on this practice of divorcing became the tradition of couples involved in a case of Lian. The Prophet ﷺ said to the people. Wait for her! If she delivers a red short small child like a Wahra a short red animal. then I will be of the opinion that he Uwaimir has told a lie but if she delivered a black big-eyed one with big buttocks; then I will be of the opinion that he has told the truth about her. Ultimately she gave birth to a child that proved the accusation. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1852 | Narrated Anas: Once the people started asking Allah Messenger ﷺ questions; and they asked so many questions that he became angry and ascended the pulpit and said; I will answer whatever questions you may ask me today. I looked right and left and saw everyone covering his face with his garment and weeping. Behold ! There was a man who; on quarreling with the people; used to be called as a son of a person other than h is father. He said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Who is my father? The Prophet ﷺ replied; Your father is Hudhaifa. And then Umar got up and said; We accept Allah as our Lord; and Islam as our religion; and Muhammad as our Apostle; and we seek refuge with Allah from the afflictions. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; I have never seen a day like today in its good and its evil for Paradise and the Hell Fire were displayed in front of me; till I saw them just beyond this wall. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2128 | Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; The thing I am afraid of most for your sake; is the worldly blessings which Allah will bring forth to you. It was said; What are the blessings of this world? The Prophet ﷺ said; The pleasures of the world. A man said; Can the good bring forth evil? The Prophet ﷺ kept quiet for a while till we thought that he was being inspired divinely. Then he started removing the sweat from his forehead and said; Where is the questioner? That man said; I am present. Abu Saeed added: We thanked the man when the result of his question was such. The Prophet ﷺ said; Good never brings forth but good. This wealth of the world is like green and sweet fruit ; and all the vegetation which grows on the bank of a stream either kills or nearly kills the animal that eats too much of it; except the animal that eats the Khadira a kind of vegetation. Such an animal eats till its stomach is full and then it faces the sun and starts ruminating and then it passes out dung and urine and goes to eat again. This worldly wealth is like sweet fruit ; and if a person earns it the wealth in a legal way and spends it properly; then it is an excellent helper; and whoever earns it in an illegal way; he will be like the one who eats but is never satisfied. | The Chapter on Wealth And Satisfaction in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The warning regarding worldly pleasures amusements and competing against each other in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3127 | Narrated Sahl Bin Saad AlSaidi: Uwaimir AlAjlani came to Aasi m Bin Adi AlAnsari and asked; O Aasi m! Tell me; if a man sees his wife with another man; should he kill him; whereupon you would kill him in Qisas; or what should he do? O Aasi m! Please ask Allah Messenger ﷺ about that. Aasi m asked Allah Messenger ﷺ about that. Allah Apostle disliked that question and considered it disgraceful. What Aasi m heard from Allah Messenger ﷺ was hard on him. When he returned to his family; Uwaimir came to him and said O Aasi m! What did Allah Messenger ﷺ say to you? Aasi m said; You never bring me any good. Allah Messenger ﷺ disliked to hear the problem which I asked him about. Uwaimir said; By Allah; I will not leave the matter till I ask him about it. So Uwaimir proceeded till he came to Allah Messenger ﷺ who was in the midst of the people and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! If a man finds with his wife another man; should he kill him; whereupon you would kill him in Qisas : or otherwise; what should he do? Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Allah has revealed something concerning the question of you and your wife. Go and bring her here. So they both carried out the judgment of Lian; while I was present among the people as a witness. When both of them had finished; Uwaimir said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! If I should now keep my wife with me; then I have told a lie. Then he pronounced his decision to divorce her thrice before Allah Apostle ordered him to do so. Ibn Shihab said; That was the tradition for all those who are involved in a case of Lian. | The Chapter on Wives And Relationship General Topics in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To divorce one wife thrice at a time in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3387 | Narrated Saad Bin Ubaida: A man came to Ibn Umar and asked about Uthman and Ibn Umar mentioned his good deeds and said to the questioner. Perhaps these facts annoy you? The other said; Yes. Ibn Umar said; May Allah stick your nose in the dust i.e. degrade you ! Then the man asked him about Ali. Ibn Umar mentioned his good deeds and said; It is all true; and that is his house in the midst of the houses of the Prophet. Perhaps these facts have hurt you? The questioner said; Yes. Ibn Umar said; May Allah stick your nose in the dust i.e. degrade you or make you do things which you hate ! Go away and do whatever you can against me. | The Chapter on Assignments As A Commander in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The merits of Ali Bin Abi Talib in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3468 | Narrated Abu Huraira: I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! I am a young man and I am afraid that I may commit illegal sexual intercourse and I cannot afford to marry. He kept silent; and then repeated my question once again; but he kept silent. I said the same for the third time and he remained silent. Then repeated my question for the fourth time ; and only then the Prophet said; O Abu Huraira! The pen has dried after writing what you are going to confront. So it does not matter whether you get yourself castrated or not. | The Chapter on Communication And Silence in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on What is disliked of not marrying and of getting castrated in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3821 | Narrated Abu Huraira: When Khaibar was conquered; a roasted poisoned sheep was presented to the Prophet ﷺ as a gift by the Jews. The Prophet ﷺ ordered; Let all the Jews who have been here; be assembled before me. The Jews were collected and the Prophet ﷺ said to them ; I am going to ask you a question. Will you tell the truth? They said; Yes. The Prophet ﷺ asked; Who is your father? They replied; So-and-so. He said; You have told a lie; your father is so-and-so. They said; You are right. He said; Will you now tell me the truth; if I ask you about something? They replied; Yes; O Abu AlQasim; and if we should tell a lie; you can realize our lie as you have done regarding our father. On that he asked; Who are the people of the Hell Fire? They said; We shall remain in the Hell Fire for a short period; and after that you will replace us. The Prophet ﷺ said; You may be cursed and humiliated in it! By Allah; we shall never replace you in it. Then he asked; Will you now tell me the truth if I ask you a question? They said; Yes; O Abu AlQasim. He asked; Have you poisoned this sheep? They said; Yes. He asked; What made you do so? They said; We wanted to know if you were a liar in which case we would get rid of you; and if you are a prophet then the poison would not harm you. | The Chapter on Hell Fire And Suicide in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on If AlMushrikun prove tracherous to the Muslims may they be forgiven in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5966 | Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: Once the Prophet ﷺ sat on a pulpit and we sat around him. Then he said; The things I am afraid of most for your sake concerning what will befall you after me is the pleasures and splendors of the world and its beauties which will be disclosed to you. Somebody said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Can the good bring forth evil? The Prophet ﷺ remained silent for a while. It was said to that person; What is wrong with you? You are talking to the Prophet ﷺ while he is not talking to you. Then we noticed that he was being inspired divinely. Then the Prophet ﷺ wiped off his sweat and said; Where is the questioner? It seemed as if the Prophet ﷺ liked his question. Then he said; Good never brings forth evil. Indeed it is like what grows on the banks of a water-stream which either kill or make the animals sick; except if an animal eats its fill the Khadira a kind of vegetable and then faces the sun; and then defecates and urinates and grazes again. No doubt this wealth is sweet and green. Blessed is the wealth of a Muslim from which he gives to the poor; the orphans and to needy travelers. Or the Prophet said something similar to it No doubt; whoever takes it illegally will be like the one who eats but is never satisfied; and his wealth will be a witness against him on the Day of Resurrection. | The Chapter on Communication Asking A Question About Deeds in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Giving in charity to orphans in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5978 | Narrated Saad bin Abi Waqqas : Allah Messenger ﷺ distributed something from the resources of Zakat amongst a group of people while I was sitting amongst them; but he left a man whom I considered the best of the lot. So; I went up to Allah Messenger ﷺ and asked him secretly; Why have you left that person? By Allah! I consider him a believer. The Prophet ﷺ said; Or merely a Muslim Who surrender to Allah. I remained quiet for a while but could not help repeating my question because of what I knew about him. I said; O Allah Apostle! Why have you left that person? By Allah! I consider him a believer. The Prophet ﷺ said; Or merely a Muslim. I remained quiet for a while but could not help repeating my question because of what I knew about him. I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Why have you left that person? By Allah! I consider him a believer. The Prophet ﷺ said; Or merely a Muslim. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ said; I give to a person while another is dearer to me; for fear that he may be thrown in the Hell-fire on his face by reneging from Islam. | The Chapter on Communication Talking In Prayers in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Statement of Allah AlZa wa Jall in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6063 | Narrated Abdullah Bin Abbas: Abu Sufyan Bin Harb informed me that Heraclius had sent a messenger to him while he had been accompanying a caravan from Quraish. They were merchants doing business in Sham Syria; Palestine; Lebanon and Jordan ; at the time when Allah Messenger ﷺ had truce with Abu Sufyan and Quraish infidels. So Abu Sufyan and his companions went to Heraclius at Ilya Jerusalem. Heraclius called them in the court and he had all the senior Roman dignitaries around him. He called for his translator who; translating Heraclius question said to them; Who amongst you is closely related to that man who claims to be a Prophet? Abu Sufyan replied; I am the nearest relative to him amongst the group. Heraclius said; Bring him Abu Sufyan close to me and make his companions stand behind him. Abu Sufyan added; Heraclius told his translator to tell my companions that he wanted to put some questions to me regarding that man The Prophet and that if I told a lie they my companions should contradict me. Abu Sufyan added; By Allah! Had I not been afraid of my companions labeling me a liar; I would not have spoken the truth about the Prophet. The first question he asked me about him was: What is his family status amongst you? I replied; He belongs to a good noble family amongst us. Heraclius further asked; Has anybody amongst you ever claimed the same i.e. to be a Prophet before him? I replied; No. He said; Was anybody amongst his ancestors a king? I replied; No. Heraclius asked; Do the nobles or the poor follow him? I replied; It is the poor who follow him. He said; Are his followers increasing decreasing day by day ? I replied; They are increasing. He then asked; Does anybody amongst those who embrace his religion become displeased and renounce the religion afterwards? I replied; No. Heraclius said; Have you ever accused him of telling lies before his claim to be a Prophet ? I replied; No. Heraclius said; Does he break his promises? I replied; No. We are at truce with him but we do not know what he will do in it. I could not find opportunity to say anything against him except that. Heraclius asked; Have you ever had a war with him? I replied; Yes. Then he said; What was the outcome of the battles? I replied; Sometimes he was victorious and sometimes we. Heraclius said; What does he order you to do? I said; He tells us to worship Allah and Allah alone and not to worship anything along with Him; and to renounce all that our ancestors had said. He orders us to pray; to speak the truth; to be chaste and to keep good relations with our Kith and kin. Heraclius asked the translator to convey to me the following; I asked you about his family and your reply was that he belonged to a very noble family. In fact all the Apostles come from noble families amongst their respective peoples. I questioned you whether anybody else amongst you claimed such a thing; your reply was in the negative. If the answer had been in the affirmative; I would have thought that this man was following the previous man statement. Then I asked you whether anyone of his ancestors was a king. Your reply was in the negative; and if it had been in the affirmative; I would have thought that this man wanted to take back his ancestral kingdom. I further asked whether he was ever accused of telling lies before he said what he said; and your reply was in the negative. So I wondered how a person who does not tell a lie about others could ever tell a lie about Allah. I; then asked you whether the rich people followed him or the poor. You replied that it was the poor who followed him. And in fact all the Apostle have been followed by this very class of people. Then I asked you whether his followers were increasing or decreasing. You replied that they were increasing; and in fact this is the way of true faith; till it is complete in all respects. I further asked you whether there was anybody; who; after embracing his religion; became displeased and discarded his religion. Your reply was in the negative; and in fact this is the sign of true faith; when its delight enters the hearts and mixes with them completely. I asked you whether he had ever betrayed. You replied in the negative and likewise the Apostles never betray. Then I asked you what he ordered you to do. You replied that he ordered you to worship Allah and Allah alone and not to worship any thing along with Him and forbade you to worship idols and ordered you to pray; to speak the truth and to be chaste. If what you have said is true; he will very soon occupy this place underneath my feet and I knew it from the scriptures that he was going to appear but I did not know that he would be from you; and if I could reach him definitely; I would go immediately to meet him and if I were with him; I would certainly wash his feet. Heraclius then asked for the letter addressed by Allah Apostle which was delivered by Dihya to the Governor of Busra; who forwarded it to Heraclius to read. The contents of the letter were as follows: In the name of Allah the Beneficent; the Merciful This letter is from Muhammad the slave of Allah and His Apostle to Heraclius the ruler of Byzantine. ﷺ ; who follows the right path. Furthermore I invite you to Islam; and if you become a Muslim you will be safe; and Allah will double your reward; and if you reject this invitation of Islam you will be committing a sin by misguiding your Arisiyin peasants. And I recite to you Allah Statement: O people of the scripture! Come to a word common to you and us that we worship none but Allah and that we associate nothing in worship with Him; and that none of us shall take others as Lords beside Allah. Then; if they turn away; say: Bear witness that we are Muslims those who have surrendered to Allah. 3:64. Abu Sufyan then added; When Heraclius had finished his speech and had read the letter; there was a great hue and cry in the Royal Court. So we were turned out of the court. I told my companions that the question of Ibn Abi Kabsha the Prophet ﷺ Muhammad has become so prominent that even the King of Bani AlAsfar Byzantine is afraid of him. Then I started to become sure that he the Prophet would be the conqueror in the near future till I embraced Islam i.e. Allah guided me to it. The sub narrator adds; Ibn AlNatur was the Governor of llya Jerusalem and Heraclius was the head of the Christians of Sham. Ibn AlNatur narrates that once while Heraclius was visiting ilya Jerusalem ; he got up in the morning with a sad mood. Some of his priests asked him why he was in that mood? Heraclius was a foreteller and an astrologer. He replied; At night when I looked at the stars; I saw that the leader of those who practice circumcision had appeared become the conqueror. Who are they who practice circumcision? The people replied; Except the Jews nobody practices circumcision; so you should not be afraid of them Jews. Just Issue orders to kill every Jew present in the country. While they were discussing it; a messenger sent by the king of Ghassan to convey the news of Allah Messenger ﷺ to Heraclius was brought in. Having heard the news; he Heraclius ordered the people to go and see whether the messenger of Ghassan was circumcised. The people; after seeing him; told Heraclius that he was circumcised. Heraclius then asked him about the Arabs. The messenger replied; Arabs also practice circumcision. After hearing that Heraclius remarked that sovereignty of the Arabs had appeared. Heraclius then wrote a letter to his friend in Rome who was as good as Heraclius in knowledge. Heraclius then left for Homs. a town in Syrian and stayed there till he received the reply of his letter from his friend who agreed with him in his opinion about the emergence of the Prophet ﷺ and the fact that he was a Prophet. On that Heraclius invited all the heads of the Byzantines to assemble in his palace at Homs. When they assembled; he ordered that all the doors of his palace be closed. Then he came out and said; O Byzantines! If success is your desire and if you seek right guidance and want your empire to remain then give a pledge of allegiance to this Prophet i.e. embrace Islam. On hearing the views of Heraclius the people ran towards the gates of the palace like onagers but found the doors closed. Heraclius realized their hatred towards Islam and when he lost the hope of their embracing Islam; he ordered that they should be brought back in audience. When they returned he said; What already said was just to test the strength of your conviction and I have seen it. The people prostrated before him and became pleased with him; and this was the end of Heraclius story in connection with his faith. | The Chapter on Pre-Islam And Heracluis in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Revelation in Sahih AlBukhari

I saw one of the pagans over-powering one of the Muslims; so I struck the pagan from behind his neck causing his armor to be cut off. The pagan headed towards me and pressed me so forcibly that I felt as if I was dying. Then death took him over and he released me. Afterwards I followed Umar and said to him; What is wrong with the people? He said; It is the Order of Allah. Then the Muslims returned to the battle after the flight and after overcoming the enemy the Prophet sat and said; Whoever had killed an Infidel and has an evidence to this issue; will have the Salb i.e. the belonging of the deceased e.g. clothes; arms; horse; etc. I stood up and said; Who will be my witness? and then sat down. Then the Prophet ﷺ repeated his question. Then the Prophet ﷺ said the same for the third time. I got up and said; Who will be my witness? and then sat down. The Prophet ﷺ asked his former question again. So I got up. The Prophet ﷺ said; What is the matter; O Abu Qatada? So I narrated the whole story; A man said; Abu Qatada has spoken the truth; and the Salb of the deceased is with me; so please compensate Abu Qatada on my behalf. Abu Bakr said; No! By Allah; it will never happen that the Prophet ﷺ will leave a Lion of Allah who fights for the Sake of Allah and His Apostle and give his spoils to you. So Allah helped us to meet Abdullah Bin Umar who was entering the Masjid. So I and my companion surrounded him; and I thought that my companion would entrust me the task of speaking to him. Then I said : Abu Abdulrahman there appeared on our side some people who recite the Quran and are engaged in the hair-splitting of knowledge. They conceive that there is no Divine decree and everything happens freely without predestination. He said : When you meet those people; tell them that I am free from them; and they are free from me. By Him by Whom swears Abdullah Bin Umar; if one of them has gold equivalent to Uhud and he spends it; Allah will not accept it from him until he believes in Divine decree. No mark of travel was visible on him; and we did not recognize him. Sitting down beside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; leaning his knees against his and placing his hands on his thighs; he said : tell me; Muhammad; about Islam. He said : You have spoken the truth. We were surprised at his questioning him and then declaring that he spoke the truth. He said : Now tell me about faith. He replied : It means that you should believe in Allah; his angels; his Books; his Apostles and the last day; and that you should believe in the decreeing both of good and evil. He said : You have spoken the truth. He said : now tell me about doing good ihsan. He replied: It means that you should worship Allah as though you are seeing him; if you are not seeing him; he is seeing you. He said: Now tell me about the hour. He replied : The one who is asked about it is no better informed than the one who is asking. He said : Then tell me about its signs. He replied : That a maidservant should beget her mistress; and that you should see barefooted; naked; poor men and shepherds exalting themselves in buildings. Another grandmother came to Umar Ibn AlKhattab asking him for her share of inheritance. He said: Nothing has been prescribed for you in Allah Book. The decision made before you was made for a grandmother other than you. I am not going to add in the shares of inheritance; but it is that sixth. If there are two of you; it is shared between you; but whichever of you is the only one left gets it all. | The Chapter on Inheritance And Grandmothers in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding The Grandmother in Sunan Abu Dawoud |

MuwataMalik-017-001-35144 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Uthman Ibn Ishaq Ibn Kharasha that Qabisa Ibn Dhuayb said; A grandmother came to Abu Bakr AlSiddiq and asked him for her inheritance. Abu Bakr said to her; You have nothing in the Book of Allah; and I do not know that you have anything in the sunna of the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Go away therefore; until I have questioned the people. i.e.the Companions. He questioned the people; and AlMughira Ibn Shuba said; I was present with the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; when he gave the grandmother a sixth. Abu Bakr said; Was there anybody else with you? Muhammad Ibn Maslama AlAnsari stood up and said the like of what AlMughira said. Abu Bakr AlSiddiq gave it to her. Then the other grandmother came to Umar Ibn AlKhattab and asked him for her inheritance. He said to her; You have nothing in the Book of Allah; and what has been decided is only for other than you; and I am not one to add to the fixed shares; other than that sixth. If there are two of you together; it is between you. If eitherof you is left alone with it; it is hers. | The Chapter on Inheritance And Grandmothers in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Hudud in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35222 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that Sahl Ibn Sad AlSaidi told him that Uwaymir AlAjlani came to Aasi m Ibn Adi AlAnsari and said to him; Aasi m! What do you think a man who finds another man with his wife should do? Should he kill him and then be killed himself; or what should.he do? Aasi m! ask the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; about that for me. Aasi m asked the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; about it. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; was revolted by the questions and reproved them until what he heard from the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace. was intolerable for Aasi m. When Aasi m returned to his people; Uwaymir came to him and said; Aasi m! what did the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; say to you? Aasi m said to Uwaymir; You didnt bring me any good. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; was revolted by the question which I asked him. Uwaymir said; By Allah! I will not stop until I ask him about it! Uwaymir stood up and went to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; in the middle of the people and said; Messenger of Allah! What do you think a man who finds another man with his wife should do? Should he kill him and then be killed himself; or what should he do? The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Something has been sent down about you and your wife; so go and bring her. Sahl continued; They mutually cursed one another in the presence of the Messenger; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and I was present with the people. When they finished cursing each other; Uwaymir said; I shall have lied about her; Messenger of Allah; if I keep her; and pronounced the divorce three times before the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered him to do it. Malik said that Ibn Shihab said; That was how the sunna of a couple mutually cursing each other was established lian. | The Chapter on Peace And Ablution in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Marriage in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35393 | Yahya related to me from Malik that Yahya Ibn Said said; I vowed to walk; but I was struck by a pain in the kidney; so I rode until I came to Makka. I questioned Ata Ibn Abi Rabah and others; and they said; You must sacrifice an animal. When I came to Madina I questioned the ulama there; and they ordered me to walk again from the place from which I was unable to go on. So I walked. Yahya said that he had heard Malik say; What is done among us regarding someone who makes a vow to walk to the House of Allah; and then cannot do it and so rides; is that he must return and walk from the place from which he was unable to go on. If he cannot walk; he should walk what he can and then ride; and he must sacrifice a camel; a cow; or a sheep if that is all that he can find. Malik; when asked about a man who said to another; I will carry you to the House of Allah; answered; If he intended to carry him on his shoulder; by that he meant hardship and exhaustion to himself; and he does not have to do that. Let him walk by foot and make sacrifice. If he did not intend anything; let him do hajj and ride; and take the man on hajj with him. That is because he said; I will carry you to the house of Allah. If the man refuses to do hajj with him; then there is nothing against him; and what is demanded of him is cancelled. Yahya said that Malik was asked whether it was enough for a man who had made a vow that he would walk to the House of Allah a certain large number of times; or who had forbidden himself from talking to his father and brother; if he did not fulfil a certain vow; and he had taken upon himself; by the oath; something which he was incapable of fulfilling in his lifetime; even though he were to try every year; to fulfil only one or a smaller number of vows by Allah? Malik said; The only satisfaction for that that I know is fulfilling what he has obliged himself to do. Let him walk for as long as he is able and draw near Allah the Exalted by what he can of good. | The Chapter on Hands And Obligations in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Jihad in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35428 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that AlQasim Ibn Muhammad said that he had heard a man asking Ibn Abbas about booty. Ibn Abbas said; Horses are part of the booty and personal effects are as well. Then the man repeated his question; and Ibn Abbas repeated his answer. Then the man said; What are the spoils which He; the Blessed; the Exalted; mentioned in His Book? He kept on asking until Ibn Abbas was on the verge of being annoyed; then Ibn Abbas said; Do you know who this man is like? Ibn Sabigh; who was beaten by Umar Ibn AlKhattab because he was notorious for asking foolish questions. Yahya said that Malik was asked whether someone who killed one of the enemy could keep the man effects without the permission of the Imam. He said; No one can do that without the permission of the Imam. Only the Imam can make ijtihad. I have not heard that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ever said; Whoever kills someone can have his effects; on any other day than the day of Hunayn. 3 | The Chapter on Communication And Being Quiet In Friday Prayers in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Divorce in Muwata Malik |
