SahihAlBukhari-017-001-022Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; When the call for prayer is made; Satan takes to his heels passing wind so that he may not hear the Adhan and when the call is finished he comes back; and when the Iqama is pronounced; Satan again takes to his heels; and when the Iqama is finished he comes back again and tries to interfere with the person and his thoughts and say; Remember this and that which he has not thought of before the prayer ; till the praying person forgets how much he has prayed. If anyone of you does not remember whether he has offered three or four rakat then he should perform two prostrations of Sahu while sitting. The Chapter on Adhan And Iqama At Dawn in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on When a person forgets whether he has offered three or four Raka in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-089Narrated Mahmud Bin AlRabi AlAnsari: that he remembered Allah Messenger ﷺ and he also remembered a mouthful of water which he had thrown on his face; after taking it from a well that was in their house. Mahmud said that he had heard Itban Bin Malik; who was present with Allah Messenger ﷺ in the battle of Badr saying; I used to lead my people at Bani Salim in the prayer and there was a valley between me and those people. Whenever it rained it used to be difficult for me to cross it to go to their Masjid. So I went to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said; I have weak eyesight and the valley between me and my people flows during the rainy season and it becomes difficult for me to cross it; I wish you would come to my house and pray at a place so that I could take that place as a praying place. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; I will do so. So Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr came to my house in the next morning after the sun had risen high. Allah Messenger ﷺ asked my permission to let him in and I admitted him. He did not sit before saying; Where do you want us to offer the prayer in your house? I pointed to the place where I wanted him to pray. So Allah Messenger ﷺ stood up for the prayer and started the prayer with Takbir and we aligned in rows behind him; and he offered two rakat; and finished them with Taslim; and we also performed Taslim with him. I detained him for a meal called KhaZirr which I had prepared for him.- KhaZirr is a special type of dish prepared from barley flour and meat soup - When the neighbors got the news that Allah Messenger ﷺ was in my house; they poured it till there were a great number of men in the house. One of them said; What is wrong with Malik; for I do not see him? One of them replied; He is a hypocrite and does not love Allah and His Apostle. On that Allah Apostle said; Dont say this. Havent you seen that he said; None has the right to be worshipped but Allah for Allah sake only. The man replied; Allah and His Apostle know better; but by Allah; we never saw him but helping and talking with the hypocrites. Allah Messenger ﷺ replied; No doubt; whoever says. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah; and by that he wants the pleasures of Allah; then Allah will save him from Hell. Mahmud added; I told the above narration to some people; one of whom was Abu Ayoub ; the companion of Allah Messenger ﷺ in the battle in which he Abu Ayoub died and Yazid Bin Muawiya was their leader in Roman Territory. Abu Ayoub denounced the narration and said; I doubt that Allah Messenger ﷺ ever said what you have said. I felt that too much; and I vowed to Allah that if I remained alive in that holy battle; I would go to Medina and ask Itban Bin Malik if he was still living in the Masjid of his people. So when he returned; I assumed Ihram for Hajj or Umra and then I proceeded on till I reached Medina. I went to Bani Salim and Itban Bin Malik; who was by then an old blind man; was leading his people in the prayer. When he finished the prayer; I greeted him and introduced myself to him and then asked him about that narration. He told that narration again in the same manner as he had narrated it the first time. The Chapter on Leave in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To offer Nawafil in congregation in Sahih AlBukhari

If he remembers Me in himself; I too; remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people; I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one span nearer to Me; I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me; I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking; I go to him running. The Chapter on Angeles And Good Deeds And Remembrance in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on And Allah warns you against Himself in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1941Narrated Abu Dhar: While I was walking with the Prophet ﷺ at the Hurra of Medina in the evening; the mountain of Uhud appeared before us. The Prophet ﷺ said; O Abu Dhar! I would not like to have gold equal to Uhud mountain for me; unless nothing of it; not even a single Dinar remains of it with me; for more than one day or three days; except that single Dinar which I will keep for repaying debts. I will spend all of it the whole amount among Allah slaves like this and like this and like this. The Prophet ﷺ pointed out with his hand to illustrate it and then said; O Abu Dhar! I replied; Labbaik wa Sadaik; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; Those who have much wealth in this world will be the least rewarded in the Hereafter except those who do like this and like this i.e.; spend their money in charity. Then he ordered me; Remain at your place and do not leave it; O Abu Dhar; till I come back. He went away till he disappeared from me. Then I heard a voice and feared that something might have happened to Allah Messenger ﷺ ; and I intended to go to find out but I remembered the statement of Allah Messenger ﷺ that I should not leave; my place; so I kept on waiting and after a while the Prophet ﷺ came ; and I said to him; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; I heard a voice and I was afraid that something might have happened to you; but then I remembered your statement and stayed there. The Prophet ﷺ said; That was Gabriel who came to me and informed me that whoever among my followers died without joining others in worship with Allah; would enter Paradise. Then they will go to Adam and say; You are the one whom Allah created with His Own Hands; and breathed in you of His soul; and ordered the angels to prostrate to you; so please intercede for us with our Lord. Adam will reply; I am not fit for this undertaking; and will remember his sin; and will say; Go to Noah; the first Apostle sent by Allah They will go to him and he will say; I am not fit for this undertaking; and will remember his sin and say; Go to Abraham whom Allah took as a Khalil. They will go to him and request similarly. He will reply; I am not fit for this undertaking; and will remember his sin and say; Go to Moses to whom Allah spoke directly. They will go to Moses and he will say; I am not fit for this undertaking; and will remember his sin and say; Go to Jesus. They will go to him; and he will say; I am not fit for this undertaking; go to Muhammad as Allah has forgiven his past and future sins. They will come to me and I will ask my Lord permission; and when I see Him; I will fall down in prostration to Him; and He will leave me in that state as long as He Allah will; and then I will be addressed. Raise up your head O Muhammad ! Ask; and your request will be granted; and say; and your saying will be listened to; intercede; and your intercession will be accepted. Then I will raise my head; and I will glorify and praise my Lord with a saying i.e. invocation He will teach me; and then I will intercede; Allah will fix a limit for me i.e.; certain type of people for whom I may intercede ; and I will take them out of the Hell Fire and let them enter Paradise. Then I will come back to Allah and fall in prostration; and will do the same for the third and fourth times till no-one remains in the Hell Fire except those whom the Quran has imprisoned therein. Umar said; I dont mean these afflictions but the afflictions that will be heaving up and down like waves of the sea. Hudhaifa replied; O chief of the believers! You need not fear those afflictions as there is a closed door between you and them. Umar asked; Will that door be opened or broken? Hudhaifa replied; No; it will be broken. Umar said; Then it is very likely that the door will not be closed again. Later on the people asked Hudhaifa; Did Umar know what that door meant? He said. Yes; Umar knew it as everyone knows that there will be night before the tomorrow morning. I narrated to Umar an authentic narration; not lies. He said; I heard him saying; When AlDajjal appears; he will have fire and water along with him. What the people will consider as cold water; will be fire that will burn things. So; if anyone of you comes across this; he should fall in the thing which will appear to him as fire; for in reality; it will be fresh cold water. Hudhaifa added; I also heard him saying; From among the people preceding your generation; there was a man whom the angel of death visited to capture his soul. So his soul was captured and he was asked if he had done any good deed. He replied; I dont remember any good deed. He was asked to think it over. He said; I do not remember; except that I used to trade with the people in the world and I used to give a respite to the rich and forgive the poor among my debtors. So Allah made him enter Paradise. Hudhaifa further said; I also heard him saying; Once there was a man on his death-bed; who; losing every hope of surviving said to his family: When I die; gather for me a large heap of wood and make a fire to burn me. When the fire eats my meat and reaches my bones; and when the bones burn; take and crush them into powder and wait for a windy day to throw it i.e. the powder over the sea. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5323Narrated Abu Huraira: You people say that Abu Huraira tells many narrations from Allah Messenger ﷺ and you also wonder why the emigrants and Ansar do not narrate from Allah Messenger ﷺ as Abu Huraira does. Those who had to remember them preserved them in their minds and those who could not remember them forgot them. So continue to recite it. But bear in mind that your reciting for a long time may not harden your hearts as were hardened the hearts of those before you. We used to recite a surah which resembled in length and severity to Surah Baraat. I have; however; forgotten it with the exception of this which I remember out of it: If there were two valleys full of riches; for the son of Adam; he would long for a third valley; and nothing would fill the stomach of the son of Adam but dust. When the call to prayer is finished; he comes back. And when the Iqamah is said; he again takes to his heels; and after it is completed; he returns again to interfere between the praying person and his heart; saying to him: Remember such and such; remember such and such; - things that he had not remembered - until he does not know how many Rakahs he has prayed. The Chapter on Prayers And Bowing in HodHood Indexing, The Book of the Adhan The Call to Prayer in Sunan AlNasai

I do not think that there is anyone among you who does not have a place where he prays in his house. But if you were to pray in your houses and forsake the Masjids; you would be forsaking the Sunnah of your Prophet; and if you were to forsake the Sunnah of yourProphet you would go astray. There is no Muslim slave who performs Ablution and does it well; then walks to the prayer; but Allah will record one Hasanah gooddeed for each step he takes; or raise him one level by it or erase one sin from him. He said: Yes; the closest that the Lord is to His slave is in the last part of the night; so if you can be among those who remember Allah at that time; then do so. For prayer is attended and witnessed by the angels until the sun rises; then it rises between the two horns of the Shaitan; that is the time when the disbelievers pray; so do not pray until the sun had risen to the height of a spear and its rays have disappeared. Then prayer is attended and witness by the angels until the sun is directly overhead at midday; and that is the time when the gates of Hell are opened and it is stoked up. Samurah then said that he remembered two periods of silence from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; one when he uttered the takbir and the other when he finished reciting: Not of those with whom Thou art angry; nor of those who go astray i.7. MuwataMalik-017-001-34244Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham Ibn Urwa from his father from Aisha; the wife of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; that AlHarith Ibn Hisham asked the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; How does the revelation come to you? and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Sometimes it comes to me like the ringing of a bell; and that is the hardest for me; and when it leaves me I remember what it has said. And sometimes the angel appears to me in the likeness of a man and talks to me and I remember what he says. Aisha added; I saw it coming down on him on an intensely cold day; and when it had left him his forehead was dripping with sweat. The Chapter on Peace And Entering Almadinah in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prayer in Congregation in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35865Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham Ibn Urwa that Sawda bint Abdullah Ibn Umar; who was in the household of Urwa Ibn AlZubayr; set off walking between Safa and Marwa when doing either hajj or an umra. She was a heavy woman and she began when everybody was leaving after the isha prayer; and she still had not completed her circuits when the first call was given for subh; but finished them between the two calls to prayer. If Urwa saw people doing circuits on riding beasts he would tell them in very strong terms not to do so; and they would pretend to be ill; out of awe of him. Hisham added; He used to say to us about them These are unsuccessful and have lost. Malik said; Someone who forgets say between Safa and Marwa in an umra; and does not remember until he is far from Makka; should return and do say. If; in the meantime; he has had intercourse with a woman; he should return and do say between Safa and Marwa so as to complete what remains of that umra; and then after that he has to do another umra and offer a sacrificial animal. Malik was asked about someone who met another man when doing say between Safa and Marwa and stopped to talk with him; and he said; I do not like anyone to do that. Malik said; If anyone forgets some of his tawaf or is uncertain about it and remembers only when he is doing say between Safa and Marwa; he should stop the say and complete his tawaf of the House apart from that about which he is certain. After that he prays the two rakas of the tawaf; and then begins his say between Safa and Marwa. The Chapter on The Tawaf And Saei in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Business Transactions in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35963Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu Bakr Ibn Nafi from his father that the daughter of one of Safiya bint Abi Ubayd brothers was bleeding after she had given birth to a child at Muzdalifa. She and Safiya were delayed and did not arrive at Mina until after the sun had set on the day of sacrifice. Abdullah Ibn Umar told them both to stone the jamra at the time they arrived and he did not think that they owed anything. Yahya said that Malik was asked about some one who forgot to stone one of the jamras on one of the days of Mina until it was evening and he said; He should throw the stones at whatever time of day or night he remembers; just as he would pray the prayer if he forgot it and then remembered it at any time of day or night. If he remembers that he has not done the stoning after he has returned to Makka; or after he has left; he must sacrifice an animal. The Chapter on Special Days Of Fasting in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Fasting in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-36216Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Said Ibn AlMusayab that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; travelled by night on the way back from Khaybar.Towards the end of the night he stopped for a rest and told Bilal to stay awake to keep watch for the subh prayer. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and his companions slept. Bilal stayed on guard as long as was decreed for him and then he leant against his riding camel facing the direction of the dawn and sleep overcame him and neither he nor the Messenger of Allah nor any of the party woke up until the sun rays had struck them. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; was alarmed. Bilal excused himself; saying; Messenger of Allah! The One who took your self was the One who took myself. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered the party to move on and so they roused thei r mounts and rode on a short distance. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered Bilal to give the iqama and then led them in the subh prayer. When he had finished he said; Anyone who forgets a prayer should pray it when he remembers. Allah theBlessed and Exalted says in His book; Establish the prayer to remember Me.The Chapter on Journeys And Travel And Camels in HodHood Indexing, The Book of The Qibla in Muwata Malik
