SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1433Narrated Ibrahim At Taimi father: Ali addressed us while he was standing on a brick pulpit and carrying a sword from which was hanging a scroll He said By Allah; we have no book to read except Allah Book and whatever is on this scroll; And then he unrolled it; and behold; in it was written what sort of camels were to be given as blood money; and there was also written in it: Medina is a sanctuary form Air mountain to such and such place so whoever innovates in it an heresy or commits a sin therein; he will incur the curse of Allah; the angels; and all the people and Allah will not accept his compulsory or optional good deeds. There was also written in it: The asylum pledge of protection granted by any Muslims is one and the same; even a Muslim of the lowest status is to be secured and respected by all the other Muslims; and whoever betrays a Muslim in this respect by violating the pledge will incur the curse of Allah; the angels; and all the people; and Allah will not accept his compulsory or optional good deeds. There was also written in it: Whoever freed slave befriends takes as masters other than his real masters manumitters without their permission will incur the curse of Allah; the angels; and all the people; and Allah will not accept his compulsory or optional good deeds. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6415Narrated Uthman Bin Mauhab: A man came to perform the Hajj to Allahs House. Seeing some people sitting; he said; Who are these sitting people? Somebody said; They are the people of Quraish. He said; Who is the old man? They said; Ibn Umar. He went to him and said; I want to ask you about something; will you tell me about it? I ask you with the respect due to the sanctity of this Sacred House; do you know that Uthman Bin Affan fled on the day of Uhud? Ibn Umar said; Yes. He said; Do you know that he i.e. Uthman was absent from the Badr battle and did not join it? Ibn Umar said; Yes. He said; Do you know that he failed to be present at the Ridwan Pledge of allegiance i.e. Pledge of allegiance at Hudaibiya and did not witness it? Ibn Umar replied; Yes; He then said; Allahu- Akbar! Ibn Umar said; Come along; I will inform you and explain to you what you have asked. As for the flight of Uthman on the day of Uhud; I testify that Allah forgave him. As regards his absence from the Badr battle ; he was married to the daughter of Allah Messenger ﷺ and she was ill; so the Prophet ﷺ said to him; You will have such reward as a man who has fought the Badr battle will get; and will also have the same share of the booty. As for his absence from the Ridwan Pledge of allegiance if there had been anybody more respected by the Meccans than Uthman Bin Affan; the Prophet would surely have sent that man instead of Uthman. So the Prophet ﷺ sent him i.e. Uthman to Mecca and the Ridwan Pledge of allegiance took place after Uthman had gone to Mecca. The Prophet raised his right hand saying. This is the hand of Uthman; and clapped it over his other hand and said; This is for Uthman. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-7224Narrated Ibn Abbas: For the whole year I had the desire to ask Umar Bin AlKhattab regarding the explanation of a Verse in Surat AlTahrim but I could not ask him because I respected him very much. When he went to perform the Hajj; I too went along with him. On our return; while we were still on the way home. Umar went Aasi de to answer the call of nature by the Arak trees. I waited till he finished and then I proceeded with him and asked him. O chief of the Believers! Who were the two wives of the Prophet ﷺ who aided one another against him? He said; They were Hafsa and Aisha. Then I said to him; By Allah; I wanted to ask you about this a year ago; but I could not do so owing to my respect for you. Umar said; Do not refrain from asking me. If you think that I have knowledge about a certain matter ; ask me; and if I know something about it ; I will tell you. Then Umar added; By Allah; in the Pre-lslamic Period of Ignorance we did not pay attention to women until Allah revealed regarding them what He revealed regarding them and assigned for them what He has assigned. Once while I was thinking over a certain matter; my wife said; I recommend that you do so-and-so. I said to her; What have you got to do with the is matter? Why do you poke your nose in a matter which I want to see fulfilled.? She said; How strange you are; O son of AlKhattab! You dont want to be argued with whereas your daughter; Hafsa surely; argues with Allah Messenger ﷺ so much that he remains angry for a full day! Umar then reported; how he at once put on his outer garment and went to Hafsa and said to her; O my daughter! Do you argue with Allah Messenger ﷺ so that he remains angry the whole day? H. afsa said; By Allah; we argue with him. Umar said; Know that I warn you of Allah punishment and the anger of Allah Messenger ﷺ... O my daughter! Dont be betrayed by the one who is proud of her beauty because of the love of Allah Messenger ﷺ for her i.e. Aisha. Umar addled; Then I went out to Umm Salamah house who was one of my relatives; and I talked to her. She said; O son of AlKhattab! It is rather astonishing that you interfere in everything; you even want to interfere between Allah Apostle and his wives! By Allah; by her talk she influenced me so much that I lost some of my anger. I left her and went home. At that time I had a friend from the Ansar who used to bring news from the Prophet in case of my absence; and I used to bring him the news if he was absent. In those days we were afraid of one of the kings of Ghassan tribe. We heard that he intended to move and attack us; so fear filled our hearts because of that. One day my Ansari friend unexpectedly knocked at my door; and said; Open Open! I said; Has the king of Ghassan come? He said; No; but something worse; Allah Messenger ﷺ has isolated himself from his wives. I said; Let the nose of Aisha and Hafsa be stuck to dust i.e. humiliated ! Then I put on my clothes and went to Allah Messenger ﷺ residence; and behold; he was staying in an upper room of his to which he ascended by a ladder; and a black slave of Allah Messenger ﷺ was sitting on the first step. I said to him; Say to the Prophet ﷺ Umar Bin AlKhattab is here. Then the Prophet ﷺ admitted me and I narrated the story to Allah Messenger ﷺ. When I reached the story of Umm Salamah ; Allah Messenger ﷺ smiled while he was lying on a mat made of palm tree leaves with nothing between him and the mat. Underneath his head there was a leather pillow stuffed with palm fibres; and leaves of a saut tree were piled at his feet; and above his head hung a few water skins. On seeing the marks of the mat imprinted on his side; I wept. He said. Why are you weeping? I replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Caesar and Khosrau are leading the life i.e. Luxurious life while you; Allah Messenger ﷺ though you are; is living in destitute. The Prophet ﷺ then replied. SahihMuslim-017-001-19413Jarir Bin Abdullah reported that some desert Arabs clad in woollen clothes came to Allah Messenger ﷺ. He saw them in sad plight as they had been hard pressed by need. He the Holy Prophet exhorted people to give charity; but they showed some reluctance until signs of anger could be seen on his face. Then a person from the Ansar came with a purse containing silver. Then came another person and then other persons followed them in succession until signs of happiness could be seen on his sacred face. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: He who introduced some good practice in Islam which was followed after him by people he would be assured of reward like one who followed it; without their rewards being diminished in any respect. SahihMuslim-017-001-23239Ibrahim AlTaimi reported on the authority of his father: Ali Bin Abi Talib Allah be pleased with him addressed us and said: He who thought that we have besides the Holy Quran anything else that we recite; he told a lie. And this document which is hanging by the sheath of the sword contains but the ages of the camels; and the nature of the wounds. He Hadrat Ali reported Allah Apostle ﷺ as saying: Medina is sacred from Air to Thaur; So if anyone makes an innovation or accommodates an innovator; the curse of Allah; the angels; and all persons will fall upon him; and Allah will not accept any obligatory or supererogatory act as recompense from them. And the protection granted by the Muslims is one and must be respected by the humblest of them. If anyone makes a false claim to paternity; or being a client of other than his own masters; there is upon him the curse of Allah; the angels; and all the people. Allah will not accept from him any recompense in the form of obligatory acts or supererogatory acts. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25035Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas: Abd Yazid; the father of Rukanah and his brothers; divorced Umm Rukanah and married a woman of the tribe of Muzaynah. She went to the Prophet ﷺ and said: He is of no use to me except that he is as useful to me as a hair; and she took a hair from her head. So separate me from him. The Prophet ﷺ became furious. He called on Rukanah and his brothers. He then said to those who were sitting beside him. Do you see so-and-so who resembles Abdu Yazid in respect of so-and-so; and so-and-so who resembles him in respect of so-and-so? They replied: Yes. The Prophet ﷺ said to Abdu Yazid: Divorce her. Then he did so. He said: Take your wife; the mother of Rukanah and his brothers; back in marriage. He said: I have divorced her by three pronouncements; Messenger of Allah. He said: I know: take her back. He then recited the verse: O Prophet; when you divorce women; divorce them at their appointed periods.Abu Dawud said: The tradition narrated by Nafi Bin Ujair and Abdullah Bin Yazid Bin Rukanah from his father on the authority of his grandfather reads: Rukanah divorced his wife absolutely i.e. irrevocable divorce. The Prophet ﷺ restored her to him. This version is sounder than other versions ; for they i.e. these narrators are the children of his man; and the members of the family are more aware of his case. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25180Narrated Ibn Abbas: said When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Muadh to Yemen; he said to him You are going to a people who are people of the book. So call them to bear witness that there is no diety but Allah; and that I am the Messenger of Allah. If they obey you in this respect; tell them that Allah has prescribed five prayers on them every day and night. If they obey you in this regard tell them that Allah has prescribed sadaqah zakat on their property and returned it to their poor. If they obey you in this respect; do not take the best of their property. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25737Narrated Sahl Bin Abi Hathmah and Rafi Bin Khadeej: Muhayasah Bin Masud and Abdullah Bin Sahl came to Khaibar and parted from each other among palm trees. Abdullah Bin Sahl was killed. The Jews were blamed for the murder. Abdulrahman Bin Sahl and Huwayasah and Muhayasah; the sons of his uncle Masud came to the Prophet ﷺ. Abdulrahman who was the youngest; spoke about his brother; but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: Respect the elder; respect the elder or he said: Let the eldest begin. They then spoke about their friend and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Fifty of you should take oaths regarding a man from them the Jews and he should be entrusted to him with his rope in his neck. They said: It is a matter which we did not see. How can we take oaths ? He said: The Jews exonerate themselves by the oaths of fifty of them. They said: Messenger of Allah! they are a people who are infidels. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ paid them bloodwit himself. Sahl said: Once I entered the resting place of their camels; and the camel struck me with her lef. Hammad said this or something similar to it.Abu Dawud said: Another version transmitted by Yahya Bin Saeed has: Would you swear fifty oaths and make you claim regarding your friend or your slain man ? Bishr; the transmitter; did mention blood. Abdah transmitted it from Yahya as transmitted by Hammad. Ibn Uyainah has also transmitted it from Yahya; and began with his words: The Jew will exonerate themselves by fifty oaths which they will swear.
