SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2601Narrated Aisha: Rifaa AlQurazi divorced his wife irrevocably i.e. that divorce was the final. Later on Abdulrahman Bin AlZubair married her after him. She came to the Prophet ﷺ and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! I was Rifaa wife and he divorced me thrice; and then I was married to Abdulrahman Bin AlZubair; who; by Allah has nothing with him except something like this fringe; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; showing a fringe she had taken from her covering sheet. Abu Bakr was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ while Khalid Ibn Saeed Bin AlAs was sitting at the gate of the room waiting for admission. Khalid started calling Abu Bakr; O Abu Bakr! Why dont you reprove this lady from what she is openly saying before Allah Apostle? Allah Messenger ﷺ did nothing except smiling; and then said to the lady ; Perhaps you want to go back to Rifaa? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2848Narrated Aisha: the wife of the Prophet The wife of Rifaa AlQurazi came to Allah Messenger ﷺ while I was sitting; and Abu Bakr was also there. She said; O Allah s Apostle! I was the wife of Rifaa and he divorced me irrevocably. Then I married Abdulrahman Bin AlZubair who; by Allah; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; has only something like a fringe of a garment; Showing the fringe of her veil. Khalid Bin Said; who was standing at the door; for he had not been admitted; heard her statement and said; O Abu Bakr! Why do you not stop this lady from saying such things openly before Allah Messenger ﷺ ? No; by Allah; Allah Messenger ﷺ did nothing but smiled. Then he said to the lady; Perhaps you want to return to Rifaa? That is impossible unless Abdulrahman consummates his marriage with you. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2880Narrated Ikrima: Rifaa divorced his wife whereupon Abdulrahman Bin AlZubair AlQurazi married her. Aisha said that the lady came ; wearing a green veil and complained to her Aisha of her husband and showed her a green spot on her skin caused by beating. It was the habit of ladies to support each other; so when Allah Messenger ﷺ came; Aisha said; I have not seen any woman suffering as much as the believing women. Look! Her skin is greener than her clothes! When Abdulrahman heard that his wife had gone to the Prophet; he came with his two sons from another wife. She said; By Allah! I have done no wrong to him but he is impotent and is as useless to me as this; holding and showing the fringe of her garment; Abdulrahman said; By Allah; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! She has told a lie! I am very strong and can satisfy her but she is disobedient and wants to go back to Rifaa. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; to her; If that is your intention; then know that it is unlawful for you to remarry Rifaa unless Abdulrahman has had sexual intercourse with you. Then the Prophet ﷺ saw two boys with Abdulrahman and asked him ; Are these your sons? On that Abdulrahman said; Yes. The Prophet ﷺ said; You claim what you claim i.e.. that he is impotent ? SahihMuslim-017-001-21689Aisha Allah he pleased with her reported: There came the wife of Rifaa to Allah Apostle ﷺ and said: I was married to Rifaa but he divorced me; making may divorce irrevocable. Afterwards I married Abdulrahman Bin AlZubair; but all he possesses is like the fringe of a garment i. e. he is sexually weak. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ smiled; and said: Do you wish to return to Rifaa. You cannot do it until you have tasted his sweetness and he Abdulrahman has tasted your sweetness. MuwataMalik-017-001-35322Yahya related to me from Malik from AlMiswar Ibn Rifaa AlQuradhi from AlZubair Ibn Abdulrahman Ibn AlZubair that Rifaa Ibn Simwal divorced his wife; Tamima bint Wahb; in the time of the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; three times. Then she married Abdulrahman Ibn AlZubair and he turned from her and could not consummate the marriage and so he parted from her. Rifaa wanted to marry her again and it was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and he forbade him to marry her.
