SunanAlTermithi-017-001-8504		Narrated Umar Bin AlKhattab: I passed by Hisham Bin Hakim Bin Hizam while he was reciting Surat AlFurqan during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I listened to his recitation and noticed that he recited it in several different ways; which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had not taught me. I was about to jump over him during his Prayer; but waited until he said the Salam. When he had said the Salam; I strangled him with his upper-garment and said: Who taught you this Surah which I heard you reciting? He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught it to me. I said to him: You lie! By Allah! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught me this Surah which you were reciting. I dragged him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah! I heard this one reciting Surat AlFurqan in a manner different from how you taught me; and you taught me Surat AlFurqan. The Prophet ﷺ said: Release him O Umar! Recite O Hisham. So he recited it for him as I had heard him reciting. Then the Prophet ﷺ said to me: This is how it was revealed. Then the Prophet ﷺ said to me; Recite O Umar. So I recited the recitation which the Prophet ﷺ taught me. The Prophet ﷺ said: This is how it was revealed. Then the Prophet ﷺ said Indeed this Quran was revealed in seven modes; so recite of it what is easier for you. SunanAlNasai-017-001-16610		It was narrated from Abu Huraira that: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the Masjid; then a man entered and prayed; then he came and greeted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with Salam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned his greeting and said: Go back and pray; for you have not prayed. So he went back and prayed as he has prayed before; then he came to the Prophet ﷺ and greeted him with Salam; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: Wa alaika AlSalam and upon you be peace. SunanAlNasai-017-001-16664		Urwah Bin AlZubair narrated that AlMiswar Bin Makhramah and Abdulrahman Bin Abd AlQari told him that: They heard Umar Bin AlKhattab say: I heard Hisham Bin Hakim Bin Hizam reciting Surat AlFurqan during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; so I listened to his recitation and he was reciting it in a way that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had not taught me. I was about to jump on him while he was praying; but I waited patiently until he said the Salam at the end of the prayer. When he had said the Salam I grabbed him by his garment and said: Who taught you this Surah that I heard you reciting? He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught me it. I said: You are lying; by Allah! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ is the one who taught me this Surah that I heard you reciting. I took him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah; I heard this man reciting Surat AlFurqan in a way that you did not teach me; but you taught me Surat AlFurqan. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Let him go; O Umar. Recite; O Hisham. So I recited it to him in the way that I had heard him recite. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: It was revealed like this. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Recite; O Umar. So I recited it in the way that he had taught me. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: It was revealed like this. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: This Quran has been revealed to be recited in seven different modes; so recite as much of the Quran as may be easy for you. SunanAlNasai-017-001-16779		It was narrated that Rifaah Bin Rafi- who had been present at Badr- said: We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a man entered the Masjid and prayed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ watched him without him realizing; then he finished; came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and greeted him with salam. He returned the salam and said: Go back and pray; for you have not prayed. He the narrator said: I do not know if it was the second or third time;- the man said: By the One Who revealed the Book to you; I have tried my best. Teach me and show me. If you do that then you will have done your prayer properly; and whatever you failed to do properly is going to detract from your prayer. SunanAlNasai-017-001-16862		It was narrated that Rifaah Bin Rafi said: While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting with us around him; a man came in; turned towards the Qiblah and prayed. When he had finished his prayer; he came and greeted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the people with Salam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: And also to you. Go and pray; for you have not prayed. So he went and prayed; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ started watching him; and he the man did not know what was wrong with it. When he had finished the prayer; he came and greeted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the people with salam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: And also to you. Go and pray; for you have not prayed. He repeated it two or three times; then the man said: O Messenger of Allah; what is wrong with my prayer? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The prayer of any of you is not complete unless he performs Ablution properly as enjoined by Allah; the Mighty and Sublime. So he should wash his face; his arms up to the elbows; and wipe his head; and wash his feet up to the ankles. Then he should magnify Allah SWT and praise Him and glorify Him. - One of the narrators Hammam said: I heard him say: He should praise Allah and glorify Him and magnify Him. He said: I heard both of them. -He the Prophet ﷺ said: He should recite whatever is easy for him of the Quran that Allah has taught him and permitted him in it the prayer. Then he should say the Takbir and bow until his joints settle and he is relaxed. Then he should say: Sami Allahu liman hamidah Allah hears the one who praises Him and stand up straight until his backbone is straight and at ease. Then he should say Takbir and prostrate until he has placed his face firmly on the ground. I heard him say: his forehead; until his joints settle and he is relaxed. Then he should say the Takbir and sit up until his backbone is straight and at ease. Then he should prostrate until he has placed his face firmly on the ground and he is relaxed. If he does not do that then he has not completed his prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Do not say peace salam be upon Allah SWT ; for Allah SWT is AlSalam the Source of peace; the One free from all faults. Rather say: AlTahiyatu lillahi wasalawatu wat-tayibaat; AlSalamu alaika ayah-Nabiyu wa rahmatAllahi wa baraktuhu. AlSalamu alaina a ala ibad illahis-salihin All compliments; prayers and pure words are due to Allah. Peace be upon you O Prophet; and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah. If you say that; it will be for every righteous slave in the heavens and on earth; ashadu an la ilaha ill Allah; wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu I bear witness that that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah; and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and messenger. Then let him choose any supplication that he likes to say after that. The Prophet ﷺ had been watching him as he prayed; so he returned his salam; then he said: Go back and pray; for you have not prayed. So he went back and prayed; then he came back and greeted the Prophet ﷺ with salam. He returned the salam; then he said: Go back and pray; for you have not prayed. The third or fourth time this happened; then the man said: By the One Who revealed the Book to you; I have done my best and have tried hard; show me and teach me. He said: When you want to pray; perform Ablution and do it well; then turn to face the Qiblah and say the takbir. Then recite the Quran; then bow until you are at ease in bowing. Then stand up until you are standing straight; then prostrate until you are at ease prostrating; then sit up until you are at ease sitting; then prostrate until you are at ease prostrating; then get up. If you complete the prayer in this manner you wil hve done it properly; and whatever you do less than this is lacking from you prayer. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29586		Narrated Abu Salam: Abu Salam reported on the authority of a man from the companion of the Prophet ﷺ. He said: We attacked a tribe of Juhaynah. A man from the Muslims pursued a man of them; and struck him but missed him. He struck himself with the sword. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Your brother; O group of Muslims. The people hastened towards him; but found him dead. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrapped him with his clothes and his blood; and offered funeral prayer for him and buried him. They said: Messenger of Allah; is he a martyr? He said: Yes; and I am witness to him. MuwataMalik-017-001-34767		Malik related to me from Nafi that Abdullah Ibn Umar said; The Jews came to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and mentioned to him that a man and woman from among them had committed adultery. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; asked them; What do you find in the Torah about stoning? They said; We make their wrong action known and flog them. Abdullah Ibn Salam said; You have lied! It has stoning for it; so bring the Torah. They spread it out and one of them placed his hand over the ayat of stoning. Then he read what was before it and what was after it. Abdullah Ibn Salam told him to lift his hand. He lifted his hand and there was the ayat of stoning. They said; He has spoken the truth; Muhammad. The ayat of stoning is in it. So the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; gave the order and they were stoned. Abdullah Ibn Umar added; I saw the man leaning over the woman to protect her from the stones. Malik commented; By leaning he meant throwing himself over her so that the stones fell on him. MuwataMalik-017-001-35725		Yahya related to me from Malik from Yazid Ibn Abdullah Ibn AlHad from Muhammad Ibn Ibrahim Ibn AlHarith AlTaymi from Abu Salama Ibn Abdulrahman Ibn Awuf that Abu Huraira said; I went out to AlTur Mount Sinai and met Kaab AlAhbar and sat with him. He related to me things from the Tawrah and I related to him things from the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Among the things I related to him was that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; The best of days on which the sun rises is the day of jumua. In it Adam was created; and in it he fell from the Garden. In it he was forgiven; and in it he died. In it the Hour occurs; and every moving thing listens from morning till sunset in apprehension of the Hour except jinn and men. In it is a time when Allah gives toa muslim slave standing in prayer whatever he asks for. Kaab said; That is one day in every year. I said; No; in every jumua. Then Kaab recited the Tawrah and said; The Messenger of Allah has spoken the truth. Abu Huraira continued; I met Basra Ibn Abi Basra AlGhiffari and he said; Where have you come from? I said; From AlTur. He said; If I had seen you before you left; you would not have gone. I heard the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; say; Only make a special journey to three Masjids: the Masjid of the Haram Makka ; this Masjid Madina ; and the Masjid of Ilya or the Bait AlMaqdis two names of Jerusalem. He was not sure which expression was used. Abu Huraira continued; Then I met Abdullah Ibn Salam and I told him that I had sat with Kabal-Ahbar; and I mentioned what I had related to him about the day of jumua; and told him that Kaab had said; That is one day in every year. Abdullah Ibn Salam said; Kaab lied; and I added; Kaab then recited the Tawrah and said; No; it is in every jumua. Abdullah Ibn Salam said; Kaab spoke the truth. Then Abdullah Ibn Salam said; I know what time that is. Abu Huraira continued; I said to him; Let me know it - dont keep it from me. Abdullah Ibn Salam said; It is the last period of time in the dayof jumua. Abu Huraira continued; I said; How can it be the last period of time in the day of jumua; when the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; a muslim slave standing in prayer; and that is a time when there is no prayer? Abdullah Ibn Salam replied; Didnt the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; say; Whoever sits waiting for the prayer is in prayer until he prays?
