SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1913		Narrated Aisha: the wife of the Prophet Umar Bin AlKhattab used to say to Allah Messenger ﷺ Let your wives be veiled But he did not do so. The wives of the Prophet ﷺ used to go out to answer the call of nature at night only at AlManasi. Once Sauda; the daughter of Zama went out and she was a tall woman. Umar Bin AlKhattab saw her while he was in a gathering; and said; I have recognized you; O Sauda! He Umar said so as he was anxious for some Divine orders regarding the veil the veiling of women. So Allah revealed the Verse of veiling. AlHijab; a complete body cover excluding the eyes. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1993		Narrated Aisha: Allah Messenger ﷺ used to like sweets and also used to like honey; and whenever he finished the Asr prayer; he used to visit his wives and stay with them. Once he visited Hafsa and remained with her longer than the period he used to stay; so I enquired about it. It was said to me; A woman from her tribe gave her a leather skin containing honey as a present; and she gave some of it to Allah Messenger ﷺ to drink. I said; By Allah; we will play a trick on him. So I mentioned the story to Sauda the wife of the Prophet and said to her; When he enters upon you; he will come near to you whereupon you should say to him; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Have you eaten Maghafir? He will say; No. Then you say to him; What is this bad smell? And it would be very hard on Allah Messenger ﷺ that a bad smell should be found on his body. He will say; Hafsa has given me a drink of honey. Then you should say to him; Its bees must have sucked from the AlUrfut a foul smelling flower. I too; will tell him the same. And you; O Saifya; say the same. So when the Prophet ﷺ entered upon Sauda the following happened. Sauda said; By Him except Whom none has the right to be worshipped; I was about to say to him what you had told me to say while he was still at the gate because of fear from you. But when Allah Apostle came near to me; I said to him; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Have you eaten Maghafir? He replied; No. I said; What about this smell? He said; Hafsa has given me a drink of honey. I said; Its bees must have sucked AlUrfut. When he entered upon me; I told him the same as that; and when he entered upon Safiya; she too told him the same. So when he visited Hafsa again; she said to him; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Shall I give you a drink of it honey ? He said; I have no desire for it. Sauda said; Subhan Allah! SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5812		Narrated Aisha: We got down at AlMuzdalifa and Sauda asked the permission of the Prophet ﷺ to leave early before the rush of the people. She was a slow woman and he gave her permission; so she departed from AlMuzdalifa before the rush of the people. We kept on staying at AlMuzdalifa till dawn; and set out with the Prophet ﷺ but I suffered so much that I wished I had taken the permission of Allah Messenger ﷺ as Sauda had done; and that would have been dearer to me than any other happiness. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5922		Narrated Aisha: Some of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ asked him; Who amongst us will be the first to follow you i.e. die after you ? He said; Whoever has the longest hand. So they started measuring their hands with a stick and Sauda hand turned out to be the longest. When Zainab bint Jahsh died first of all in the caliphate of Umar ; we came to know that the long hand was a symbol of practicing charity; so she was the first to follow the Prophet ﷺ and she used to love to practice charity. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6640		Narrated Aisha: Utba Bin Abi Waqqas authorized his brother Saad to take the son of the slave-girl of Zama into his custody. Utba said to him. He is my son. When Allah Messenger ﷺ arrived in Mecca during the Conquest of Mecca ; Saad Bin Abi Waqqas took the son of the slave-girl of Zama and took him to the Prophet ﷺ Abd Bin Zama too came along with him. Saad said. This is the son of my brother and the latter has informed me that he is his son. Abd Bin Zama said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! This is my brother who is the son of the slave-girl of Zama and was born on his i.e. Zamas bed. Allah Apostle looked at the son of the slave-girl of Zama and noticed that he; of all the people had the greatest resemblance to Utba Bin Abi Waqqas. Allah Messenger ﷺ then said to Abd ; He is yours; he is your brother; O Abd Bin Zama; he was born on the bed of your father. At the same time Allah Messenger ﷺ said to his wife Sauda ; Veil yourself before him i.e. the son of the slave-girl O Sauda; because of the resemblance he noticed between him and Utba Bin Abi Waqqas. Allah Apostle added; The boy is for the bed i.e. for the owner of the bed where he was born ; and stone is for the adulterer. Ibn Shihab said; Abu Huraira used to say that i.e. the last statement of the Prophet in the above Hadith 596; publicly. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-7109		Narrated Aisha: Sauda the wife of the Prophet went out to answer the call of nature after it was made obligatory for all the Muslims ladies to observe the veil. She was a fat huge lady; and everybody who knew her before could recognize her. So Umar Bin AlKhattab saw her and said; O Sauda! By Allah; you cannot hide yourself from us; so think of a way by which you should not be recognized on going out. Sauda returned while Allah Messenger ﷺ was in my house taking his supper and a bone covered with meat was in his hand. She entered and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! I went out to answer the call of nature and Umar said to me so-and-so. Then Allah inspired him the Prophet and when the state of inspiration was over and the bone was still in his hand as he had not put in down; he said to Sauda ; You women have been allowed to go out for your needs. She had been a bulky lady; significant in height amongst the women; and she could not conceal herself from him who had known her. Umar Bin AlKhattab saw her and said: Sauda; by Allah; you cannot conceal from us. Therefore; be careful when you go out. She Aisha said: She turned back. Allah Messenger ﷺ was at that time in my house having his evening meal and there was a bone in his hand. She Sauda cline and said: Allah Messenger. I went out and Umar said to me so and so. She Aisha reported: There came the revelation to him and then it was over; the bone was then in his hand and he had not thrown it and he said: Permission has been granted to you that you may go out for your needs. SahihMuslim-017-001-20199		Aisha reported that the wives of Allah Messenger ﷺ used to go out in the cover of night when they went to open fields in the outskirts of Medina for easing themselves. Umar b AlKhattab used to say: Allah Messenger; ask your ladies to observe veil; but Allah Messenger ﷺ did not do that. So there went out Sauda; daughter of Zarna; the wife of Allah Messenger ﷺ ; during one of the nights when it was dark. She was a tall statured lady. Umar called her saying: Sauda; we recognise you. He did this with the hope that the verses pertaining to veil would be revealed. Aisha said: Allah; the Exalted and Glorious; then revealed the verses pertaining to veil. SahihMuslim-017-001-21504		Aisha Allah be pleased with her reported Allah Messenger ﷺ liked sweet dish and honey. After saying the afternoon prayer he used to visit his wives going close to them. So he went to Hafsa and stayed with her more than what was his usual stay. I Aisha asked about that. It was said to me: A woman of her family had sent her a small vessel of honey as a gift; and she gave to Allah Messenger ﷺ from that a drink. I said: By Allah; we would also contrive a device for him. I mentioned that to Sauda; and said: When he Allah Apostle would visit you and draw close to you; say to him: Allah Messenger; have you taken maghafir? And he wouldsay to you: No. Then say to him: What is this odour? And Allah Messenger ﷺ felt it very much that unpleasant odour should emit from him. So he would say to you: Hafsa has given me a drink of honey. Then you should say to him: The honey-bees might have sucked Urfut; and I would also say the same to him and. Safiya; you should also say this. So when he the Holy Prophet came to Sauda; she said: By Him besides whom there is no god; it was under compulsion that I had decided to state that which you told me when he would be at a little distance at the door. So when Allah Messenger ﷺ came near; she said: Messenger of Allah; did you eat Maghafir? He said: No. She again said: Then what is this odour? He said: Hafsa gave me honey to drink. She said: The honey-bee might have sucked Urfut. When he came to me I told him like this. He then visited Safiya and she also said to him like this. When he again visited Hafsa; she said: Messenger of Allah; should I not give you that drink ? He said: I do not need that. Sauda said: Hallowed be Allah; by Him we have contrived to make that honey unlawful for him. I said to her: Keep quiet. SahihMuslim-017-001-23030		Aisha Allah be pleased with her reported: Sauda the wife of the Holy Prophet who was bulky sought the permission of Allah Messenger ﷺ on the night of Muzdalifa to move from that place ahead of him and before the multitude set forth. He Allah Apostle gave her the permission. So she set forth before his Holy Prophets departure. But we stayed there until it was dawn and we moved on; when he departed. And if I were to seek the permission of Allah Messenger. ﷺ as Sauda had sought permission; I could have also gone with his permission and it would have been better for me than that for which I was happy. SahihMuslim-017-001-23031		Aisha Allah be pleased with her reported that hadrat Sauda was a bulky lady; so she sought permission from Allah Messenger ﷺ to proceed from Muzdalifa to Mina in the latter part of the night. He granted her permission. Aisha said: I wish I had also sought permission from Allah Messenger ﷺ as Sauda had. sought permission from him. Aisha did not proceed but with the Imam. SahihMuslim-017-001-23032		Aisha said: I wish I had sought permission from Allah Messenger ﷺ as Sauda had sought; and observed the dawn prayer at Mina and stoned at AlJamra before the people had come there. It was said to Aisha Allah be pleased with her : Did Sauda seek permission from him the Holy Prophet ? She said: Yes. She was a bulky lady and so she sought permission from Allah Messenger ﷺ to proceed to mina from Muzdalifa ahead of him ; and he granted her permission.
