    Abu Hazim Bin Dinar narrated that some men came to Sahl Bin Saad AlSaidi. They were wondering what kind of wood the Minbar was made of; so they asked him about that. He said: By Allah; I know what it is made of. I saw it the first day it was set up and the first day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat on it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent word to so-and-so - a woman whose name Sahl mentioned - telling her: Tell your carpenter slave to make me something of wood that I can sit on when I speak to the people. So she told him; and he made it from tamarisk wood from AlGhabah a place near AlMadinah. Then he brought it and it was sent to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; who commanded that it be set up here. Then I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascend it and praying on it; and saying the Takbir while he was on top of it; then he bowed when he was on top of it; then he came down backward and prostrated at the base of the Minbar; then he went back. When he had finished he turned to face the people and said: O people; I only did this so that you can follow me in prayer and learn how I pray.

Thereupon he said: Then it would not be closed despite best efforts. We said to Hudhaifa: Did Umar know the door? In the meanwhile; Umar regretted his refusal of Abu Bakr excuse and went to Abu Bakr house and asked if Abu Bakr was there. They replied in the negative. So he came to the Prophet ﷺ and greeted him; but signs of displeasure appeared on the face of the Prophet ﷺ till Abu Bakr pitied Umar ; so he knelt and said twice; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Allah! I was more unjust to him than he to me. The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah sent me as a Prophet to you people but you said to me ; You are telling a lie; while Abu Bakr said; He has said the truth; and consoled me with himself and his money. He then said twice; Wont you then give up harming my companion? After that nobody harmed Abu Bakr.

By Him in Whose Hand my life is; there is nobody poorer than me in the whole city of Medina. The Prophet ﷺ smiled till his premolar teeth became visible; and said; Take it. In the morning the Ansari man went to Allah Messenger ﷺ who said; Allah was pleased with or He bestowed His Mercy on so-and-so and his wife because of their good deed.     Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to the Prophet. The Prophet ﷺ sent a messenger to his wives to bring something for that man to eat but they said that they had nothing except water. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Who will take this person or entertain him as a guest? An Ansar man said; I. So he took him to his wife and said to her; Entertain generously the guest of Allah Messenger ﷺ She said; We have got nothing except the meals of my children. He said; Prepare your meal; light your lamp and let your children sleep if they ask for supper. So she prepared her meal; lighted her lamp and made her children sleep; and then stood up pretending to mend her lamp; but she put it off. Then both of them pretended to be eating; but they really went to bed hungry. In the morning the Ansari went to Allah Messenger ﷺ who said; Tonight Allah laughed or wondered at your action. Then Allah revealed: But give them emigrants preference over themselves even though they were in need of that And whosoever is saved from the covetousness Such are they who will be successful. 59.9

He replied in the negative. The Prophet ﷺ asked him; Can you fast for two successive months? He replied in the negative. He asked him; Can you afford to feed sixty poor persons? He replied in the negative. Abu Huraira added : Then a basket full of dates was brought to the Prophet ﷺ and he said to that man ; Feed poor people with this by way of atonement. He said; Should I feed it to poorer people than we? There is no poorer house than ours between its Medinas mountains. The Prophet ﷺ said; Then feed your family with it.

He said: No. He said: Sit down. Then a huge basket containing dates araq was brought to the Prophet ﷺ. He then said to him: Give it as sadaqah i.e. alms. He said: Messenger of Allah; there is no poorer family than mine between the two lave plains of it Medina. Buy a camel and give it to him. They said; The camel that is available is older than the camel he demands. The Prophet ﷺ said; Buy it and give it to him; for the best among you are those who repay their debts handsomely.
