    Abu Hazim Bin Dinar narrated that some men came to Sahl Bin Saad AlSaidi. They were wondering what kind of wood the Minbar was made of; so they asked him about that. He said: By Allah; I know what it is made of. I saw it the first day it was set up and the first day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat on it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent word to so-and-so - a woman whose name Sahl mentioned - telling her: Tell your carpenter slave to make me something of wood that I can sit on when I speak to the people. So she told him; and he made it from tamarisk wood from AlGhabah a place near AlMadinah. Then he brought it and it was sent to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; who commanded that it be set up here. Then I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascend it and praying on it; and saying the Takbir while he was on top of it; then he bowed when he was on top of it; then he came down backward and prostrated at the base of the Minbar; then he went back. When he had finished he turned to face the people and said: O people; I only did this so that you can follow me in prayer and learn how I pray.

Thereupon he said: Then it would not be closed despite best efforts. We said to Hudhaifa: Did Umar know the door? Thereupon he said: Yes; he knew it for certain just as one knows that night precedes the next day. And I narrated to him something in which there was nothing fabricated. In the meanwhile; Umar regretted his refusal of Abu Bakr excuse and went to Abu Bakr house and asked if Abu Bakr was there. They replied in the negative. So he came to the Prophet ﷺ and greeted him; but signs of displeasure appeared on the face of the Prophet ﷺ till Abu Bakr pitied Umar ; so he knelt and said twice; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Allah! I was more unjust to him than he to me. The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah sent me as a Prophet to you people but you said to me ; You are telling a lie; while Abu Bakr said; He has said the truth; and consoled me with himself and his money. He then said twice; Wont you then give up harming my companion? After that nobody harmed Abu Bakr.

By Allah; Allah willing; if I ever take an oath to do something and then I find something else than the first; I will make expiation for my oath and do the thing which is better or do something which is better and give the expiation for my oath.

So I returned to my companions and informed them of what the Prophet ﷺ had said. Only a short while had passed when I heard Bilal calling; O Abdullah Bin Qais! I replied to his call. Bilal said; Respond to Allah Messenger ﷺ who is calling you. When I went to him i.e. the Prophet ; he said; Take these two camels tied together and also these two camels tied together; referring to six camels he had brought them from Saad at that time. The Prophet ﷺ added; Take them to your companions and say; Allah or Allah Messenger ﷺ allows you to ride on these; so ride on them. So I took those camels to them and said; The Prophet ﷺ allows you to ride on these camels but by Allah; I will not leave you till some of you proceed with me to somebody who heard the statement of Allah Messenger ﷺ. Do not think that I narrate to you a thing which Allah Messenger ﷺ has not said. They said to me; We consider you truthful; and we will do what you like. The sub-narrator added: So Abu Mousa proceeded along with some of them till they came to those who have heard the statement of Allah Messenger ﷺ wherein he denied them some animals to ride on and his statement whereby he gave them the same. So these people told them the same information as Abu Mousa had told them.

    Narrated Abu Mousa: That he was in the company of the Prophet ﷺ in one of the gardens of Medina and in the hand of the Prophet there was a stick; and he was striking slowly the water and the mud with it. A man came at the gate of the garden and asked permission to enter. The Prophet ﷺ said; Open the gate for him and give him the glad tidings of entering Paradise. I went; and behold! It was Abu Bakr. So I opened the gate for him and informed him of the glad tidings of entering Paradise. Then another man came and asked permission to enter. The Prophet ﷺ said; Open the gate for him and give him the glad tidings of entering Paradise. Behold! It was Umar. So I opened the gate for him and gave him the glad tidings of entering Paradise. Then another man came and asked permission to enter. The Prophet ﷺ was sitting in a leaning posture; so he sat up and said; Open the gate for him and give him the glad tidings of entering Paradise with a calamity which will befall him or which will take place. I went; and behold ! It was Uthman. So I opened the gate for him and gave him the glad tidings of entering Paradise and also informed him of what the Prophet ﷺ had said about a calamity. Uthman said; Allah Alone Whose Help I seek against that calamity.
