He said: By Allah; I know what it is made of. I saw it the first day it was set up and the first day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat on it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent word to so-and-so - a woman whose name Sahl mentioned - telling her: Tell your carpenter slave to make me something of wood that I can sit on when I speak to the people. So she told him; and he made it from tamarisk wood from AlGhabah a place near AlMadinah. Then he brought it and it was sent to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; who commanded that it be set up here. Then I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascend it and praying on it; and saying the Takbir while he was on top of it; then he bowed when he was on top of it; then he came down backward and prostrated at the base of the Minbar; then he went back. When he had finished he turned to face the people and said: O people; I only did this so that you can follow me in prayer and learn how I pray.

Thereupon he said: Then it would not be closed despite best efforts. We said to Hudhaifa: Did Umar know the door? Aisha added; I got my menses and could not perform Tawaf round the Kaba. So when it was the night of Hasba i.e. when we stopped at AlMuhassab ; I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Everyone is returning after performing Hajj and Umra but I am returning after performing Hajj only. He said; Didnt you perform Tawaf round the Kaba the night we reached Mecca? I replied in the negative. He said; Go with your brother to Tanim and assume the Ihram for Umra; and after performing it come back to such and such a place. On that Safiya said; I feel that I will detain you all. The Prophet ﷺ said; O Aqra Halqa! Didnt you perform Tawaf of the Kaba on the day of sacrifice? i.e. Tawaf Alifada Safiya replied in the affirmative. He said; to Safiya. There is no harm for you to proceed on with us. Aisha added; after returning from Umra ; the Prophet ﷺ met me while he was ascending from Mecca and I was descending to it; or I was ascending and he was descending.

Abu Bakr wanted to retreat but the Prophet ﷺ beckoned him to remain at his place and the Prophet ﷺ was brought till he sat beside Abu Bakr. AlAmash was asked; Was the Prophet ﷺ praying and Abu Bakr following him; and were the people following Abu Bakr in that prayer? AlAmash replied in the affirmative with a nod of his head. Abu Muawiya said; The Prophet ﷺ was sitting on the left side of Abu Bakr who was praying while standing.

There was a man amongst us who was from the Khawari having a different opinion. He came saying. Look at this old man! He left his prayer because of a horse. On that Abu Barza came to us and said; Since the time I left Allah Messenger ﷺ ; nobody has admonished me; My house is very far from this place; and if I had carried on praying and left my horse; I could not have reached my house till night. Then Abu Barza mentioned that he had been in the company of the Prophet; and that he had seen his leniency.

  Narrated AlAzraq Ibn Qays: An imam of ours; whose kunyah surname was Abu Rimthah; led us in prayer and said: I prayed this prayer; or one like it; with the Prophet ﷺ. Abu Bakr and Umar were standing in the front row on his right and there was a man who had been present at the first takbir in the prayer. The Prophet of Allah ﷺ offered the prayer; then gave the salutation to his right and his left so that we saw the whiteness of his cheeks; then turned away as Abu Rimthah meaning himself had done. The man who has been present with him at the first takbir in the prayer then got up to pray another prayer; whereupon Umar leaped up and; seizing him by the shoulders; shook him and said: Sit down; for the People of the Book perished for no other reason than that there was no interval between their prayers. The Prophet ﷺ raised his eyes and said: Allah has made you say what is right; son of AlKhattab.Abu Dawud said: Sometimes the name of Abu Umayah is narrated instead of Abu Rimthah.
