The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent word to so-and-so - a woman whose name Sahl mentioned - telling her: Tell your carpenter slave to make me something of wood that I can sit on when I speak to the people. So she told him; and he made it from tamarisk wood from AlGhabah a place near AlMadinah. Then he brought it and it was sent to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; who commanded that it be set up here. Then I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascend it and praying on it; and saying the Takbir while he was on top of it; then he bowed when he was on top of it; then he came down backward and prostrated at the base of the Minbar; then he went back. When he had finished he turned to face the people and said: O people; I only did this so that you can follow me in prayer and learn how I pray.

They asked for water; and nobody provided them with water till they died Abu Qilaba; a sub-narrator said; They committed murder and theft and fought against Allah and His Apostle; and spread evil in the land.

He ordered to cut off their hands and legs and their eyes to be branded with heated iron pieces and they were thrown at AlHarra; and when they asked for water to drink; they were not given water. Abu Qilaba said; Those were the people who committed theft and murder and reverted to disbelief after being believers Muslims ; and fought against Allah and His Apostle.

He glorified and praised Allah and then said; I request you to take care of the Ansar as they are my near companions to whom I confided my private secrets. So; accept the good of the good-doers amongst them and excuse the wrongdoers amongst them.

  Narrated Anas Bin Malik: Abu Talha h said to Umm Sulaim: I heard the voice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sounding weak and I sensed some hunger in it. Do you have anything? She said: Yes. So she got some loaves of wheat bread; then she took out a Khimar of hers; and put the bread in it. Then she put it under my arm; and wrapped my upper body with part of it; and she sent me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: So I brought it to him; and I found the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sitting in the Masjid; and there were people with him. So I stood among them; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Has Abu Talha h sent you? I said: Yes. He said: With food? I said: Yes. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to those with him: Stand up. So they left; and I left in front of them; until I came to Abu Talha h; and I told him that they were coming. Abu Talha h said: O Umm Sulaim! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ is coming with people; and we dont have anything to feed them. Umm Sulaim said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: So Abu Talha h departed until he met up with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah came; while Abu Talha h was with him; until they entered; when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Come O Umm Sulaim! What do you have? So she brought him that bread; and he ﷺ ordered that it be broken into pieces. Umm Sulaim poured some butter from an oil-skin upon them; then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited whatever Allah willed for him to say over it. Then he said: Let ten come. So ten were admitted; and they ate until they were full; and then they left. Then he said: Let ten come. So ten were admitted; and they ate until they were full; and they left.   Narrated Anas Bin Malik: Abu Talha had a child who was sick. Once; while Abu Talha was out; the child died. When Abu Talha returned home; he asked; How does my son fare? Um Salaim his wife replied; He is quieter than he has ever been. Then she brought supper for him and he took his supper and slept with her. When he had finished; she said to him ; Bury the child as he dead. Next morning Abu Talha came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and told him about that. The Prophet ﷺ said to him ; Did you sleep with your wife last night? Abu Talha said; Yes. The Prophet ﷺ said; O Allah! Bestow your blessing on them as regards that night of theirs. Um Sulaim gave birth to a boy. Abu Talha told me to take care of the child till it was taken to the Prophet. Then Abu Talha took the child to the Prophet ﷺ and Um Sulaim sent some dates along with the child. The Prophet ﷺ took the child on his lap and asked if there was something with him. The people replied; Yes; a few dates. The Prophet took a date; chewed it; took some of it out of his mouth; put it into the child mouth and did Tahnik for him with that; and named him Abdullah.
