The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent word to so-and-so - a woman whose name Sahl mentioned - telling her: Tell your carpenter slave to make me something of wood that I can sit on when I speak to the people. So she told him; and he made it from tamarisk wood from AlGhabah a place near AlMadinah. Then he brought it and it was sent to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; who commanded that it be set up here. Then I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascend it and praying on it; and saying the Takbir while he was on top of it; then he bowed when he was on top of it; then he came down backward and prostrated at the base of the Minbar; then he went back. When he had finished he turned to face the people and said: O people; I only did this so that you can follow me in prayer and learn how I pray.

If Allah gives me the opportunity to participate in another battle along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; then Allah will see what I will do! He said: He did not want to say more than that. A year later; he attended the battle of Uhud; where he saw Saad Bin Muadh and said: O Abu Amr where are you going? He said: I long for the fragrance of Paradise and I have found it near the mountains of Uhud. He fought them until he was killed. They found more than eighty wounds on his body; be they from blows of a sword; puncture wounds; or arrows. My paternal aunt AlRubai Bin AlNadr said: I could not recognize my brother except by his finger tips. And this Ayah was revealed: Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah; of them some have fulfilled their vow; and some of them are still waiting; but they have never changed in the least 33:23.

By the Lord of AlNadr; Paradise! I am smelling its aroma coming from before the mountain of Uhud; Later on Saad said; O Allah Apostle! I cannot achieve or do what he i.e. Anas Bin AlNadr did. We found more than eighty wounds by swords and arrows on his body. We found him dead and his body was mutilated so badly that none except his sister could recognize him by his fingers. We used to think that the following Verse was revealed concerning him and other men of his sort: Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah.......... 33.23 His sister AlRubbaya broke a front tooth of a woman and Allah Messenger ﷺ ordered for retaliation. On that Anas bin AlNadr said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Him Who has sent you with the Truth; my sister tooth shall not be broken. Then the opponents of Anas sister accepted the compensation and gave up the claim of retaliation. So Allah Messenger ﷺ said; There are some people amongst Allah slaves whose oaths are fulfilled by Allah when they take them.

The Prophet ﷺ ordered the people to spread them in the Masjid -it was the biggest amount of goods Allah Messenger ﷺ had ever received. He left for prayer and did not even look at it. After finishing the prayer; he sat by those goods and gave from those to everybody he saw. AlAbbas came to him and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! give me something too; because I gave ransom for myself and Aqil. Allah Messenger ﷺ told him to take. So he stuffed his garment with it and tried to carry it away but he failed to do so. He said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Order someone to help me in lifting it. The Prophet ﷺ refused. He then said to the Prophet: Will you please help me to lift it? Allah Messenger ﷺ refused. Then AlAbbas threw some of it and tried to lift it but failed. He again said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ Order someone to help me to lift it. He refused. AlAbbas then said to the Prophet: Will you please help me to lift it? He again refused. Then AlAbbas threw some of it; and lifted it on his shoulders and went away. Allah Messenger ﷺ kept on watching him till he disappeared from his sight and was astonished at his greediness. Allah Messenger ﷺ did not get up till the last coin was distributed.

The Prophet ﷺ go said to her ; Return those trees and I will give you so much instead of them. But she kept on refusing; saying; No; by Allah; till he gave her ten times the number of her date palms.
