    Abu Hazim Bin Dinar narrated that some men came to Sahl Bin Saad AlSaidi. They were wondering what kind of wood the Minbar was made of; so they asked him about that. He said: By Allah; I know what it is made of. I saw it the first day it was set up and the first day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat on it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent word to so-and-so - a woman whose name Sahl mentioned - telling her: Tell your carpenter slave to make me something of wood that I can sit on when I speak to the people. So she told him; and he made it from tamarisk wood from AlGhabah a place near AlMadinah. Then he brought it and it was sent to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; who commanded that it be set up here. Then I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascend it and praying on it; and saying the Takbir while he was on top of it; then he bowed when he was on top of it; then he came down backward and prostrated at the base of the Minbar; then he went back. When he had finished he turned to face the people and said: O people; I only did this so that you can follow me in prayer and learn how I pray.

I said: Commander of the Faithful; you have nothing to do with it; for the door is closed between you and that. He said: Would that door be broken or opened? I said: No; it would be broken. Thereupon he said: Then it would not be closed despite best efforts. We said to Hudhaifa: Did Umar know the door? Thereupon he said: Yes; he knew it for certain just as one knows that night precedes the next day. And I narrated to him something in which there was nothing fabricated. Shaqiq one of the narrators said: We dared not ask Hudhaifa about that door. So we requested Masruq to ask him. So he asked him and he said: By that door; he meant Umar.

In the meanwhile; Umar regretted his refusal of Abu Bakr excuse and went to Abu Bakr house and asked if Abu Bakr was there. They replied in the negative. So he came to the Prophet ﷺ and greeted him; but signs of displeasure appeared on the face of the Prophet ﷺ till Abu Bakr pitied Umar ; so he knelt and said twice; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Allah! I was more unjust to him than he to me. The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah sent me as a Prophet to you people but you said to me ; You are telling a lie; while Abu Bakr said; He has said the truth; and consoled me with himself and his money. He then said twice; Wont you then give up harming my companion? After that nobody harmed Abu Bakr.

    Narrated Anas: My paternal uncle Anas Bin AlNadr - after whom I was named - did not participate in the battle of Badr with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. This distressed him and he said: I was absent from the first battle which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ attended. By Allah! If Allah gives me the opportunity to participate in another battle along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; then Allah will see what I will do! He said: He did not want to say more than that. A year later; he attended the battle of Uhud; where he saw Saad Bin Muadh and said: O Abu Amr where are you going? He said: I long for the fragrance of Paradise and I have found it near the mountains of Uhud. He fought them until he was killed. They found more than eighty wounds on his body; be they from blows of a sword; puncture wounds; or arrows. My paternal aunt AlRubai Bin AlNadr said: I could not recognize my brother except by his finger tips. And this Ayah was revealed: Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah; of them some have fulfilled their vow; and some of them are still waiting; but they have never changed in the least 33:23.

By Allah if Allah gives me a chance to fight the pagans; no doubt. Allah will see how bravely I will fight. On the day of Uhud when the Muslims turned their backs and fled; he said; O Allah! I apologize to You for what these i.e. his companions have done; and I denounce what these i.e. the pagans have done. Then he advanced and Saad Bin Muadh met him. He said O Saad Bin Muadh ! By the Lord of AlNadr; Paradise! I am smelling its aroma coming from before the mountain of Uhud; Later on Saad said; O Allah Apostle! I cannot achieve or do what he i.e. Anas Bin AlNadr did. We found more than eighty wounds by swords and arrows on his body. We found him dead and his body was mutilated so badly that none except his sister could recognize him by his fingers. We used to think that the following Verse was revealed concerning him and other men of his sort: Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah.......... 33.23 His sister AlRubbaya broke a front tooth of a woman and Allah Messenger ﷺ ordered for retaliation. On that Anas bin AlNadr said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Him Who has sent you with the Truth; my sister tooth shall not be broken. Then the opponents of Anas sister accepted the compensation and gave up the claim of retaliation. So Allah Messenger ﷺ said; There are some people amongst Allah slaves whose oaths are fulfilled by Allah when they take them.

When the Prophet ﷺ stated looking at the enemy by raising his head; Abu Talha said; O Allah Prophet! Let my parents be sacrificed for your sake! Please dont raise your head and make it visible; lest an arrow of the enemy should hit you. Let my neck and chest be wounded instead of yours. On that day I saw Aisha; the daughter of Abu Bakr and Um Sulaim both lifting their dresses up so that I was able to see the ornaments of their legs; and they were carrying the water skins of their arms to pour the water into the mouths of the thirsty people and then go back and fill them and come to pour the water into the mouths of the people again. On that day Abu Talha sword fell from his hand twice or thrice.

It went on raining till the next Friday; when the same man or some other man stood up and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The houses have collapsed; please invoke Allah to withhold the rain. On that the Prophet ﷺ smiled and said; O Allah; let it rain around us and not on us. I then looked at the clouds to see them separating forming a sort of a crown round Medina.

There was a man who; on quarreling with the people; used to be called as a son of a person other than h is father. He said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Who is my father? The Prophet ﷺ replied; Your father is Hudhaifa. And then Umar got up and said; We accept Allah as our Lord; and Islam as our religion; and Muhammad as our Apostle; and we seek refuge with Allah from the afflictions. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; I have never seen a day like today in its good and its evil for Paradise and the Hell Fire were displayed in front of me; till I saw them just beyond this wall. Qatada; when relating this Hadith; used to mention the following Verse:- O you who believe! Ask not questions about things which; If made plain to you; May cause you trouble. 5.101

After finishing the prayer; he sat by those goods and gave from those to everybody he saw. AlAbbas came to him and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! give me something too; because I gave ransom for myself and Aqil. Allah Messenger ﷺ told him to take. So he stuffed his garment with it and tried to carry it away but he failed to do so. He said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Order someone to help me in lifting it. The Prophet ﷺ refused. He then said to the Prophet: Will you please help me to lift it? Allah Messenger ﷺ refused. Then AlAbbas threw some of it and tried to lift it but failed. He again said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ Order someone to help me to lift it. He refused. AlAbbas then said to the Prophet: Will you please help me to lift it? He again refused. Then AlAbbas threw some of it; and lifted it on his shoulders and went away. Allah Messenger ﷺ kept on watching him till he disappeared from his sight and was astonished at his greediness. Allah Messenger ﷺ did not get up till the last coin was distributed.

The Prophet ﷺ go said to her ; Return those trees and I will give you so much instead of them. But she kept on refusing; saying; No; by Allah; till he gave her ten times the number of her date palms.
