One day; a man among my paternal uncles came and said The Messenger of Allah has forbidden me to do something that was beneficial for us; but obedience to Allah and His Messenger is more beneficial for us. He has forbidden us to lease land on the basis of AlMuhaqalah and to lease it in return for one-third or one-quarter of the yield; and for a specified amount of food produce. And he commanded the landowner to cultivate it himself or to give it to someone else to cultivate. He did not like leasing it or anything else.

    Abu Hazim Bin Dinar narrated that some men came to Sahl Bin Saad AlSaidi. They were wondering what kind of wood the Minbar was made of; so they asked him about that. He said: By Allah; I know what it is made of. I saw it the first day it was set up and the first day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat on it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent word to so-and-so - a woman whose name Sahl mentioned - telling her: Tell your carpenter slave to make me something of wood that I can sit on when I speak to the people. So she told him; and he made it from tamarisk wood from AlGhabah a place near AlMadinah. Then he brought it and it was sent to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; who commanded that it be set up here. Then I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascend it and praying on it; and saying the Takbir while he was on top of it; then he bowed when he was on top of it; then he came down backward and prostrated at the base of the Minbar; then he went back. When he had finished he turned to face the people and said: O people; I only did this so that you can follow me in prayer and learn how I pray.

I said: Commander of the Faithful; you have nothing to do with it; for the door is closed between you and that. He said: Would that door be broken or opened? I said: No; it would be broken. Thereupon he said: Then it would not be closed despite best efforts. We said to Hudhaifa: Did Umar know the door? Thereupon he said: Yes; he knew it for certain just as one knows that night precedes the next day. And I narrated to him something in which there was nothing fabricated. Shaqiq one of the narrators said: We dared not ask Hudhaifa about that door. So we requested Masruq to ask him. So he asked him and he said: By that door; he meant Umar.

In the meanwhile; Umar regretted his refusal of Abu Bakr excuse and went to Abu Bakr house and asked if Abu Bakr was there. They replied in the negative. So he came to the Prophet ﷺ and greeted him; but signs of displeasure appeared on the face of the Prophet ﷺ till Abu Bakr pitied Umar ; so he knelt and said twice; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Allah! I was more unjust to him than he to me. The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah sent me as a Prophet to you people but you said to me ; You are telling a lie; while Abu Bakr said; He has said the truth; and consoled me with himself and his money. He then said twice; Wont you then give up harming my companion? After that nobody harmed Abu Bakr.

When a man among his Companions narrates to me I ask him to swear an oath to me; about it; and when he swears an oath to me I trust him. And Abu Bakr narrated to me - and Abu Bakr told the truth - he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: There is no man who commits a sin; then stands for purification; then performs Prayer; then seeks forgiveness from Allah; except that Allah forgives him. So I; too; stood for the prayer till I fell unconscious and later on I poured water on my head. After the prayer; Allah Messenger ﷺ praised and glorified Allah and said; Just now I have seen something which I never saw before at this place of mine; including Paradise and Hell. I have been inspired and have understood that you will be put to trials in your graves and these trials will be like the trials of AlDajjal; or nearly like it the sub narrator is not sure of what Asma said. Angels will come to every one of you and ask; What do you know about this man? A believer will reply; He is Muhammad; Allah Messenger ﷺ ; and he came to us with self-evident truth and guidance. So we accepted his teaching; believed and followed him. Then the angels will say to him to sleep in peace as they have come to know that he was a believer. On the other hand a hypocrite or a doubtful person will reply; I do not know but heard the people saying something and so I said the same.

It has been revealed to me that you people will be put to trial nearly like the trial of AlDajjal; in your graves. As for the true believer or a Muslim the sub-narrator is not sure as to which of the two words Asma had said he will say; Muhammad came with clear signs from Allah; and we responded to him accepted his teachings and believed what he said It will be said to him Sleep in peace; we have known that you were a true believer who believed with certainty. As for a hypocrite or a doubtful person; the sub-narrator is not sure as to which word Asma said he will say; I do not know; but I heard the people saying something and so I said the same.

Then I brought the child to Allah Messenger ﷺ and placed it on his lap. He asked for a date; chewed it; and put his saliva in the mouth of the child. So the first thing to enter its stomach was the saliva of Allah Messenger ﷺ. Then he did its Tahnik with a date; and invoked Allah to bless him. It was the first child born in the Islamic era; therefore they Muslims were very happy with its birth; for it had been said to them that the Jews had bewitched them; and so they would not produce any offspring.

    Narrated Asma bint Abu Bakr: We came out for performing hajj along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When we reached AlAraj; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ alighted and we also alighted. Aisha sat beside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I sat beside my father Abu Bakr. The equipment and personal effects of Abu Bakr and of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were placed with Abu Bakr slave on a camel. Abu Bakr was sitting and waiting for his arrival. He arrived but he had no camel with him. He asked: Where is your camel? He replied: I lost it last night. Abu Bakr said: There was only one camel; even that you have lost. He then began to beat him while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was smiling and saying: Look at this man who is in the sacred state putting on ihram ; what is he doing? Ibn Abu Rizmah said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke nothing except the words: Look at this man who is in the sacred state wearing ihram ; what is he doing? He was smiling when he uttered these words.

    Narrated Asma bint Abu Bakr: When AlZubair married me; he had no real property or any slave or anything else except a camel which drew water from the well; and his horse. I used to feed his horse with fodder and drew water and sew the bucket for drawing it; and prepare the dough; but I did not know how to bake bread. So our Ansari neighbors used to bake bread for me; and they were honorable ladies. I used to carry the date stones on my head from AlZubair land given to him by Allah Messenger ﷺ and this land was two third Farsakh about two miles from my house. One day; while I was coming with the date stones on my head; I met Allah Messenger ﷺ along with some Ansari people. He called me and then; directing his camel to kneel down said; Ikh! Ikh! so as to make me ride behind him on his camel. I felt shy to travel with the men and remembered AlZubair and his sense of Ghira; as he was one of those people who had the greatest sense of Ghira. Allah Messenger ﷺ noticed that I felt shy; so he proceeded. I came to AlZubair and said; I met Allah Messenger ﷺ while I was carrying a load of date stones on my head; and he had some companions with him. He made his camel kneel down so that I might ride; but I felt shy in his presence and remembered your sense of Ghira See the glossary. On that AlZubair said; By Allah; your carrying the date stones and you being seen by the Prophet ﷺ in such a state is more shameful to me than your riding with him. I continued serving in this way till Abu Bakr sent me a servant to look after the horse; whereupon I felt as if he had set me free.
