One day; a man among my paternal uncles came and said The Messenger of Allah has forbidden me to do something that was beneficial for us; but obedience to Allah and His Messenger is more beneficial for us. He has forbidden us to lease land on the basis of AlMuhaqalah and to lease it in return for one-third or one-quarter of the yield; and for a specified amount of food produce. And he commanded the landowner to cultivate it himself or to give it to someone else to cultivate. He did not like leasing it or anything else.

    Abu Hazim Bin Dinar narrated that some men came to Sahl Bin Saad AlSaidi. They were wondering what kind of wood the Minbar was made of; so they asked him about that. He said: By Allah; I know what it is made of. I saw it the first day it was set up and the first day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat on it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent word to so-and-so - a woman whose name Sahl mentioned - telling her: Tell your carpenter slave to make me something of wood that I can sit on when I speak to the people. So she told him; and he made it from tamarisk wood from AlGhabah a place near AlMadinah. Then he brought it and it was sent to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; who commanded that it be set up here. Then I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascend it and praying on it; and saying the Takbir while he was on top of it; then he bowed when he was on top of it; then he came down backward and prostrated at the base of the Minbar; then he went back. When he had finished he turned to face the people and said: O people; I only did this so that you can follow me in prayer and learn how I pray.

Thereupon he said: Then it would not be closed despite best efforts. We said to Hudhaifa: Did Umar know the door? Thereupon he said: Yes; he knew it for certain just as one knows that night precedes the next day. And I narrated to him something in which there was nothing fabricated. Shaqiq one of the narrators said: We dared not ask Hudhaifa about that door. So we requested Masruq to ask him. So he asked him and he said: By that door; he meant Umar.

So he came to the Prophet ﷺ and greeted him; but signs of displeasure appeared on the face of the Prophet ﷺ till Abu Bakr pitied Umar ; so he knelt and said twice; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Allah! I was more unjust to him than he to me. The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah sent me as a Prophet to you people but you said to me ; You are telling a lie; while Abu Bakr said; He has said the truth; and consoled me with himself and his money. He then said twice; Wont you then give up harming my companion? After that nobody harmed Abu Bakr.

We the people of the slain then went to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ. He said to them: Bring proof against the one who has slain him. They replied: We have no proof. He said: Then they will take an oath for you. They said: We do not accept the oaths of the Jews. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not like no responsibility should be fixed for his blood. So he himself paid his bloodwit consisting of one hundred camels of sadaqah i.e. camels sent to the Prophet as zakat.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ suddenly saw a man walking in shoes between the graves. He said: O man; wearing the shoes! Woe to thee! Take off thy shoes. So the man looked round ; When he recognized the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; he took them off and threw them away.

He Bilal said: Messenger of Allah; the dawn became fairly bright. He said: If the dawn became brighter than it is now; I would pray them the two rakahs of the sunnah prayer ; offer them well and in a more beautiful manner.

Umm Salamah replied; I heard the Prophet ﷺ forbidding the offering of these two rakat. Once the Prophet ﷺ offered the Asr prayer; and then came to me. And at that time some Ansari women from the Tribe of Banu Haram were with me. Then the Prophet ﷺ offered those two rakat; and I sent my lady servant to him; saying; Stand beside him and say to him : Umm Salamah says; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Didnt I hear you forbidding the offering of these two rakat after the Asr prayer yet I see you offering them? And if he beckons to you with his hand; then wait behind. So the lady slave did that and the Prophet ﷺ beckoned her with his hand; and she stayed behind; and when the Prophet ﷺ finished his prayer; he said; O the daughter of Abu Umaiya i.e. Umm Salamah ; You were asking me about these two rakat after the Asr prayer. In fact; some people from the tribe of Abdul Qais came to me to embrace Islam and busied me so much that I did not offer the two rakat which were offered after Zuhr compulsory prayer; and these two rakat you have seen me offering make up for those.

He said: Your reward became due; and she came back to you in inheritance. She said: She died while a month fasting was due from her. Would it be sufficient or be taken as completed if I fast on her behalf ? He said: Yes. She said: She also did not perform Hajj. Would it be sufficient or be taken completed if I perform Hajj on her behalf ? He said: Yes.

So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: If you have taken an oath; then beat it; and if you have not then do not. So she started to beat the Duff; and Abu Bakr entered while she was beating it. Then Ali entered while she was beating it; then Uthman entered while she was beating it. Then Umar entered; so she put the Duff under her; and sat upon it. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Indeed AlShaitan is afraid of you O Umar! I was sitting while she beat it; and then Abu Bakr entered while she was beating it; then Ali entered while she was beating it; then Uthman entered while she was beating it; then when you entered O Umar and she put away the Duff.
