He said: By Allah; I know what it is made of. I saw it the first day it was set up and the first day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat on it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent word to so-and-so - a woman whose name Sahl mentioned - telling her: Tell your carpenter slave to make me something of wood that I can sit on when I speak to the people. So she told him; and he made it from tamarisk wood from AlGhabah a place near AlMadinah. Then he brought it and it was sent to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; who commanded that it be set up here. Then I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascend it and praying on it; and saying the Takbir while he was on top of it; then he bowed when he was on top of it; then he came down backward and prostrated at the base of the Minbar; then he went back. When he had finished he turned to face the people and said: O people; I only did this so that you can follow me in prayer and learn how I pray.

Ibn Abbas said; No; that was another lady who used to behave in such a suspicious way among the Muslims that one might accuse her of committing illegal sexual intercourse.

Allah Messenger ﷺ went up to him with Thabit Bin Qais Bin Shams; and Allah Messenger ﷺ was carrying a piece of a datepalm leaf in his hand. He stood before Mousailama and his companions and said; If you asked me even this piece of a leaf ; I would not give it to you. You cannot avoid the fate you are destined to; by Allah. If you reject Islam; Allah will destroy you. I think that you are most probably the same person whom I have seen in the dream. Abu Huraira told me that Allah Messenger ﷺ ; said; While I was sleeping; I saw in a dream two gold bracelets round my arm; and that worried me too much. Then I was instructed divinely in my dream; to blow them off and so I blew them off; and they flew away. I interpreted the two bracelets as symbols of two liars who would appear after me. And so one of them was AlAnsi and the other was Mousailama AlKadhdhab from AlYamama.

When he i.e. the Prophet ﷺ stopped near Mousailima while the latter was amidst his companions; he said to him; If you ask me for this piece of stick ; I will not give it to you; and Allah Order you cannot avoid; but you will be destroyed ; and if you turn your back from this religion; then Allah will destroy you. And I think you are the same person who was shown to me in my dream; and this is Thabit Bin Qais who will answer your questions on my behalf. Then the Prophet ﷺ went away from him. I asked about the statement of Allah Messenger ﷺ : You seem to be the same person who was shown to me in my dream; and Abu Huraira informed me that Allah Messenger ﷺ said; When I was sleeping; I saw in a dream two bangles of gold on my hands and that worried me. And then I was inspired Divinely in the dream that I should blow on them; so I blew on them and both the bangles flew away.
