Narrated Kuraib: Ibn Abbas said; The Prophet ﷺ slept till he snored and then prayed or probably lay till his breath sounds were heard and then got up and prayed. Ibn Abbas added: I stayed overnight in the house of my aunt; Maimuna; the Prophet ﷺ slept for a part of the night; See Fath AlBari page 249; Vol. 1 ; and late in the night; he got up and performed ablution from a hanging water skin; a light perfect ablution and stood up for the prayer. I; too; performed a similar ablution; then I went and stood on his left. He drew me to his right and prayed as much as Allah wished; and again lay and slept till his breath sounds were heard. Later on the Muadh-dhin call maker for the prayer came to him and informed him that it was time for Prayer. The Prophet ﷺ went with him for the prayer without performing a new ablution. Sufyan said to Amr that some people said; The eyes of Allah Messenger ﷺ sleep but his heart does not sleep. Amr replied; I heard Ubaid Bin Umar saying that the dreams of Prophets were Divine Inspiration; and then he recited the verse: I Abraham see in a dream; O my son that I offer you in sacrifice to Allah. 37.102 See Hadith No. 183

He said: But we sighted it on the night of saturday. Since then we have been fasting until we complete thirty days or we sight it. Then I said: Are the sighting of the moon by Muawiyah and his fasts not sufficient for us? He replied: No. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to do so.

Narrated Kuraib; the client of Ibn Abbas: That Abdullah Bin Abbas; Abdulrahman Bin Azhar and AlMiswar Bin Makhramah sent him to Aisha; wife of the Prophet ﷺ. They said: Convey our regards to her from all of us and ask her about the two rakahs after the Asr prayer; and tell her that we have been informed that she prays them; and we are told that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited them. I entered upon her and told her that for which they had sent me to her. She said: Ask Umm Salamah. I returned to them Ibn Abbas and others and informed them about her opinion. They sent me back to Umm Salamah with the same mission for which they had sent me to Aishah. Umm Salamah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibiting them; but later on I saw him praying them. When he prayed them; he had offered the Asr prayer. He then came to me while a number of women from Banu Haram from the Ansar were sitting with me. He prayed these two rakahs. I sent a slave girl to him and I told her: Stand beside him and tell him that Umm Salamah has asked: Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; I heard you prohibiting these two rakahs after the afternoon prayer but I see you praying them yourself. If he makes a sign with his hand; step backward from him. The slave girl did so. When he finished prayer; he said: O daughter of Abu Umayah; you asked about the praying of two rakahs after the Asr prayer; in fact; some people of Abd AlQais has come to me with the news that their people had embraced Islam. They hindered me from praying the two rakahs after Zuhr prayer. It is those two rakahs which I offered after the Asr prayer
