Thereupon he said: Then it would not be closed despite best efforts. We said to Hudhaifa: Did Umar know the door? So he came to the Prophet ﷺ and greeted him; but signs of displeasure appeared on the face of the Prophet ﷺ till Abu Bakr pitied Umar ; so he knelt and said twice; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Allah! I was more unjust to him than he to me. The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah sent me as a Prophet to you people but you said to me ; You are telling a lie; while Abu Bakr said; He has said the truth; and consoled me with himself and his money. He then said twice; Wont you then give up harming my companion? After that nobody harmed Abu Bakr.

Uwaimir then said; By Allah; I will not give up asking unless I ask Allah Messenger ﷺ about it. Uwaimir came to the Prophet and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! A man has found another man with his wife! Should he kill him whereupon you would kill him the husband; in Qisas or what should he do? Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Allah has revealed regarding you and your wife case in the Quran So Allah Messenger ﷺ ordered them to perform the measures of Mulaana according to what Allah had mentioned in His Book. So Uwaimir did Mulaana with her and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! If I kept her I would oppress her. So Uwaimir divorced her and so divorce became a tradition after them for those who happened to be involved in a case of Mulaana. Allah Messenger ﷺ then said; Look! If she Uwaimir wife delivers a black child with deep black large eyes; big hips and fat legs; then I will be of the opinion that Uwaimir has spoken the truth; but if she delivers a red child looking like a Wahra then we will consider that Uwaimir has told a lie against her. Later on she delivered a child carrying the qualities which Allah Messenger ﷺ had mentioned as a proof for Uwaimir claim; therefore the child was ascribed to its mother henceforth.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled and said: That will be the booty of the Muslims tomorrow if Allah wills. He then asked: Who will be on guard tonight? Anas Ibn Abu Marthad AlGhanawi said: I shall ; Messenger of Allah. He said: Then mount your horse. He then mounted his horse; and came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah said to him: Go forward to this ravine till you get to the top of it. We should not be exposed to danger from your side. In the morning the Apostle of of Allah ﷺ came out to his place of prayer; and offered two rakahs. He then said: Have you seen any sign of your horseman? They said: We have not; Messenger of Allah. The announcement of the time for prayer was then made; and while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was saying the prayer; he began to glance towards the ravine. When he finished his prayer and uttered salutation; he said: Cheer up; for your horseman has come. We therefore began to look between the trees in the ravine; and sure enough he had come. He stood beside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; saluted him and said: I continued till I reached the top of this ravine where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me; and in the morning I looked down into both ravines but saw no one. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him: Did you dismount during the night? He replied: No; except to pray or to relieve myself. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: You have ensured your entry to Paradise. No blame will be attached to you supposing you do not work after it.

I am taking a document to my people; but I do not know what it contains; just like the document of AlMutalammis. Muawiyah informed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ of his statement. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who begs from people when he has sufficient is simply asking for a large amount of Hell-fire. AlNufayl a transmitter said elsewhere: embers of Hell. They asked: Messenger of Allah; what is a sufficiency? Elsewhere AlNufayl said: What is a sufficiency which makes begging unfitting? He replied: It is that which would provide a morning and an evening meal. Elsewhere AlNufayl said: It is when one has enough for a day and night; or for a night and a day. He AlNufayl narrated to us this tradition briefly in the words that I have mentioned.

Allah Messenger ﷺ kept silent; and then a man from among the poor Muslims passed by; an Allah Apostle asked them What do you say about this man? They replied; If he asks for a lady hand in marriage he does not deserve to be married; and he intercedes for someone ; his intercession should not be accepted; And if he speaks; he should not be listened to. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; This poor man is better than so many of the first as filling the earth.

Then the woman said; I have woven it with my own hands and I have brought it so that you may wear it. The Prophet ﷺ accepted it; and at that time he was in need of it. So he came out wearing it as his waist-sheet. A man praised it and said; Will you give it to me? How nice it is! The other people said; You have not done the right thing as the Prophet ﷺ is in need of it and you have asked for it when you know that he never turns down anybody request. The man replied; By Allah; I have not asked for it to wear it but to make it my shroud. Later it was his shroud.

The man said; No. The Prophet said; Go to your house and search for something. The man went and came back to say; By Allah; I could not find anything. The Prophet ﷺ said; Go again and search for something; even if it be an iron ring. He went again and came back saying; No; by Allah; I could not get even an iron ring. The man had only an Izar and had no Rida upper garment. He said; I will give her my Izar as Mahr. On that the Prophet ﷺ said; Your Izar? If she wears it; nothing of it will remain on you; and if you wear it nothing of it will be on her The man went Aasi de and sat down When the Prophet ﷺ saw him leaving after a while ; he called back and asked. How much Quran do you know by heart ? He said; I know such and such Suras; naming some Suras. The Prophet ﷺ said; I marry her to you for the amount of Quran you know by heart.
