Thereupon he said: Then it would not be closed despite best efforts. We said to Hudhaifa: Did Umar know the door? So he came to the Prophet ﷺ and greeted him; but signs of displeasure appeared on the face of the Prophet ﷺ till Abu Bakr pitied Umar ; so he knelt and said twice; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Allah! I was more unjust to him than he to me. The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah sent me as a Prophet to you people but you said to me ; You are telling a lie; while Abu Bakr said; He has said the truth; and consoled me with himself and his money. He then said twice; Wont you then give up harming my companion? After that nobody harmed Abu Bakr.

I said to him: You lie! By Allah! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught me this Surah which you were reciting. I dragged him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah! I heard this one reciting Surat AlFurqan in a manner different from how you taught me; and you taught me Surat AlFurqan. The Prophet ﷺ said: Release him O Umar! Recite O Hisham. So he recited it for him as I had heard him reciting. Then the Prophet ﷺ said to me: This is how it was revealed. Then the Prophet ﷺ said to me; Recite O Umar.   Narrated Umar Bin AlKhattab: When Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul died; Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ was called upon to offer his funeral prayer. When Allah Messenger ﷺ stood up to offer the prayer; I got up quickly and said; O Allah Apostle! Are you going to pray for Ibn Ubai and he said so and so on such and such occasions? And started mentioning all that he had said. Allah Messenger ﷺ smiled and said; O Umar! Go away from me. When I talked too much he said; I have been given the choice and so I have chosen to offer the prayer. Had I known that he would be forgiven by asking for Allah forgiveness for more than seventy times; surely I would have done so. Umar added : Allah Messenger ﷺ offered his funeral prayer and returned and after a short while the two verses of Surat Bara were revealed: i.e. And never O Muhammad pray for any of them who dies... to the end of the verse rebellion 9.84 - Umar added ; Later I astonished at my daring before Allah Messenger ﷺ on that day.   Narrated Umar Bin AlKhattab: When Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul died; Allah Messenger ﷺ was called in order to offer the funeral prayer for him. When Allah Messenger ﷺ got up to offer the prayer I jumped towards him and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Do you offer the prayer for Ibn Ubai although he said so-and-so on such-and-such day? I went on mentioning his sayings. Allah Messenger ﷺ smiled and said; Keep away from me; O Umar! But when I spoke too much to him; he said; I have been given the choice; and I have chosen this ; and if I knew that if I asked forgiveness for him more than seventy times; he would be for given; I would ask it for more times than that. So Allah Messenger ﷺ offered the funeral prayer for him and then left; but he did not stay long before the two Verses of Surat Baraa were revealed; i.e.:- And never O Muhammad pray for anyone of them that dies.... and died in a state of rebellion. 9.84 Later I was astonished at my daring to speak like that to Allah Messenger ﷺ and Allah and His Apostle know best.

  Narrated Umar Ibn Abd AlAziz: AlMughirah Ibn Shubah said: Umar Ibn Abd AlAziz gathered the family of Marwan when he was made caliph; and he said: Fadak belonged to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; and he made contributions from it; showing repeated kindness to the poor of the Banu Hashim from it; and supplying from it the cost of marriage for those who were unmarried. Fatimah asked him to give it to her; but he refused. That is how matters stood during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ till he passed on i.e. died. When Abu Bakr was made ruler he administered it as the Prophet ﷺ had done in his lifetime till he passed on. Then when Umar Ibn AlKhattab was made ruler he administered it as they had done till he passed on. Then it was given to Marwan as a fief; and it afterwards came to Umar Ibn Abd AlAziz. Umar Ibn Abd AlAziz said: I consider I have no right to something which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ refused to Fatimah; and I call you to witness that I have restored it to its former condition; meaning in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.Abu Dawud said: When Umar Bin Abd AlAziz was made caliph its revenue was forty thousand dinars; and when he died its revenue was four hundred dinars.   Narrated Umar Ibn AlKhattab: AbulBakhtari said: I heard from a man a tradition which I liked. I said to him: Write it down for me. So he brought it clearly written to me. It says : AlAbbas and Ali entered upon Umar when Talha h; AlZubayr; Abdulrahman and Saad were with him. They Abbas and Ali were disputing. Umar said to Talha h; AlZubayr; Abdulrahman and Sad: Do you not know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: All the property of the Prophet ﷺ is sadaqah alms ; except what he provided for his family for their sustenance and their clothing. We are not to be inherited. They said: Yes; indeed. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to spend from his property on his family; and give the residue as sadaqah alms. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then died; and Abu Bakr ruled for two years. He would deal with it in the same manner as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did.
