Thereupon Umar said: I do not mean that turmoil on a small scale but that one which would emerge like the mounting waves of the ocean. I said: Commander of the Faithful; you have nothing to do with it; for the door is closed between you and that. He said: Would that door be broken or opened? I said: No; it would be broken. Thereupon he said: Then it would not be closed despite best efforts. We said to Hudhaifa: Did Umar know the door? Thereupon he said: Yes; he knew it for certain just as one knows that night precedes the next day. And I narrated to him something in which there was nothing fabricated. In the meanwhile; Umar regretted his refusal of Abu Bakr excuse and went to Abu Bakr house and asked if Abu Bakr was there. They replied in the negative. So he came to the Prophet ﷺ and greeted him; but signs of displeasure appeared on the face of the Prophet ﷺ till Abu Bakr pitied Umar ; so he knelt and said twice; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Allah! I was more unjust to him than he to me. The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah sent me as a Prophet to you people but you said to me ; You are telling a lie; while Abu Bakr said; He has said the truth; and consoled me with himself and his money. He then said twice; Wont you then give up harming my companion? After that nobody harmed Abu Bakr.

  Ubaid Allah Bin Abdullah Bin Utbah said that his father wrote a letter to Abd Allaah Bin AlArqam AlZuhri asking him to visit Subaiah daughter of AlHarith AlAslamiyah and ask her about her story and what the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said to her when she asked his opinion about her. So; Umar Bin Abdullah wrote in reply to Abdullah Bin Utbah informing him what she told him. She told that she was under i.e.; the wife of Sad Bin Khawlah who belonged to Banu Amir Bin Luway. He was one of those who participated in the battle of Badr. He died at the Farwell Pilgrimage while she was pregnant. Soon after his death she gave birth to a child. When she was purified from her bleeding after child birth she adorned herself for seekers in marriage. Then Abu AlSanabil Bin Bakah a man from Banu Abd AlDar entered upon her and said to her What is the matter seeing you adorned; perhaps you are seeking marriage? I swear by Allah you cannot marry until four months and ten days pass away. Saubaiah said When she said this to me; I gathered my clothes on me when the evening came and I came to the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ and asked him about that. He told me that I became lawful when I had delivered a child. He suggested me to marry if I wished. Ibn Shihab said I do not see any harm if she marries when she gives birth to the child; even though she had the bleeding after the child birth; but her husband should not have sexual intercourse till she is purified.

Her husband also proceeded with him. From there he sent a message to her pronouncing one divorce that had yet remained. He commanded Ayash Bin Abi Rabiah and AlHarith Bin Hisham to provide maintenance to her. They said By Allah there is no sustenance for her except in case she is pregnant. She came to the Prophet ﷺ who said There is no sustenance for you except in case you are pregnant. She then asked permission to shift from her house and he gave her permission. She asked Where should I shift. Apostle of Allaah ﷺ ? The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said to Ibn Umm Maktum. He was blind. She would undress herself and he could not see her. She lived there till her waiting period passed. The Prophet ﷺ married her to Usamah. Qabisah then returned to Marwan and narrated that to him. Marwan said We did not hear this tradition except from a woman; so we shall follow the reliable practice on which we found the people. When this reached Fatimah she said between me and you is the Book of Allah. Allaah the exalted said Divorce them for their waiting period... Thou knowest not it may be that Allaah will afterward bring some new thing to pass. She said What a new thing will emerge after triple divorce.Abu Dawud said A similar tradition has been narrated by Yunus on the authority of AlZuhri. Upon this Abdullab Bin Umar said: So far as the touching of the pillars is concerned; I did not see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ touching them but only those situated on the side of yaman. So far as the wearing of the shoes of tanned leather is concerned; I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wearing shoes without hair on them; and he wore them with wet feet after performing ablution; and I like to wear them. So far as the yellowness is concerned; I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ dyeing head; beard and cloth with this colour and I love to dye my head; beard or cloth with this colour. And so far as the pronouncing of Talbiya is concerned; I did not see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pronouncing it until his camel proceeded on to Dhu AlHulaifa.

And much time had not elapsed that she gave birth to a child after his death and when she was free from the effects of childbirth she embellished herself for those who had to give proposals of marriage. Abd AlSunabil Bin Bakak from Banu Abd AlDar came to her and said: What is this that I see you embellished; perhaps you are inclined to marry; By Allah; you cannot marry unless four months and ten days of Idda are passed. When he said that. I dressed myself; and as it was evening I came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and asked him about it; and he gave me a religious verdict that I was allowed to marry when I had given birth to a child and asked me to marry if I so liked. They said to her: By Allah; there is no maintenance allowance for you; except in case you are pregnant. She came to Allah Apostle may peace he upon him and mentioned their opinion to him; whereupon he said: There is no maintenance allowance for you. Then she sought permission to move to another place ; and he the Holy Prophet permitted her. She said: Allah Messenger; where should I go ? He said: To the house of Ibn Umm Maktum and; as he is blind; she could put off her garmeqts in his presence and he would not see her. And when her Idda was over. Allah Apostle ﷺ married her to Usama Bin Zaid. Marwan the governor of Medina sent Qabisa Bin Dhuwaib in order to ask her about this hadith; and she narrated it to him; whereupon Marwan said: We have not heard this hadith but from a woman. We would adopt a safe path where we found the people. Fatima said that when these words of; Marwan were conveyed to her.   Ubaidullah Bin Abdullah Bin Utbah narrated that Abdullah Bin Amr Bin Uthman divorced the daughter of Saeed Bin Zaid -whose mother was Hamnah bint Qais- irrevocably. Her maternal aunt Fatimah bint Qais told her to move from the house of Abdullah Bin Amr. Marwan heard of that; so he sent word to her; telling her to go back to her home until her Iddah was over. She sent a word to him telling him that her maternal aunt Fatimah had issued a Fatwa to that effect; and she told her that the Messenger of Allah had issued a Fatwa to her; telling her to move when Abu Amr Bin Hafs AlMakhzumi divorced her. Marwan sent Qabisah Bin Dhuaib to Fatimah to ask her about that. She said that she had been married to Abu Amr when the Messenger of Allah appointed Ali Bin Abi Talib as governor of Yemen; and he went out with him; then he sent word to her divorcing her; and that was the final divorce for her. He told her to ask AlHarith Bin Hisham and Ayash for her provisions that her husband had allocated for her. They said: By Allah; she is not entitled to any provision. So; she sent to AlHarith Bin Hisham and Ayash asking them for the provisions from us unless she is pregnant; and she has no right to live in our house unless we permit her. Fatimah said that she went to the Messenger of Allah and told him about that and he said that they had told the truth. She said: I said: Where shall I move to; O Messenger of Allah? He said: Move to the house of Ibn Umm Maktum -who was the blind man; concerning whom Allah rebuked him in His Book. I moved to his house; and I used to take off my outer garments. Then the Messenger of Allah married her to Usamah Bin Zaid.
