I said: Commander of the Faithful; you have nothing to do with it; for the door is closed between you and that. He said: Would that door be broken or opened? I said: No; it would be broken. Thereupon he said: Then it would not be closed despite best efforts. We said to Hudhaifa: Did Umar know the door? Thereupon he said: Yes; he knew it for certain just as one knows that night precedes the next day. And I narrated to him something in which there was nothing fabricated. Shaqiq one of the narrators said: We dared not ask Hudhaifa about that door. So we requested Masruq to ask him. So he asked him and he said: By that door; he meant Umar.

Thereupon Allah Apostle ﷺ said: Muawiya is destitute and in poor condition and Ab AlJahm is very harsh with women or he beats women; or like that ; you should take Usama Bin Zaid as your husband.

In the meanwhile; Umar regretted his refusal of Abu Bakr excuse and went to Abu Bakr house and asked if Abu Bakr was there. They replied in the negative. So he came to the Prophet ﷺ and greeted him; but signs of displeasure appeared on the face of the Prophet ﷺ till Abu Bakr pitied Umar ; so he knelt and said twice; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Allah! I was more unjust to him than he to me. The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah sent me as a Prophet to you people but you said to me ; You are telling a lie; while Abu Bakr said; He has said the truth; and consoled me with himself and his money. He then said twice; Wont you then give up harming my companion? After that nobody harmed Abu Bakr.

I said: O Prophet of Allah; why should I not weep? This mat has made marks on your side; and this is all you have accumulated; I cannot see anything other than what I see here ; while Chosroes and Caesar live among fruits and rivers. You are the Prophet of Allah and His Chosen One; and this is what you have accumulated. He said: O son of AlKhattab; does it not please you to know that these things are for us in the Hereafter and for them in this world? He said: Yes.

So I was about to jump over him during his Prayer prayer but I waited till he finished his Prayer prayer whereupon I put; either his upper garment or my upper garment around his neck and seized him by it and asked him; Who has taught you this Surah? He replied: Allah Messenger ﷺ has taught it to me. I said to him ; You have told a lie! By Allah; Allah Messenger ﷺ has taught me this Surah which I have heard you reciting. So I dragged him to the Allah Messenger ﷺ. I said: O Allah Messenger I have heard this man reciting Surat AlFurqan in a way in which you have not taught me; and you did teach me Surah AlFurqan. On that Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Umar; release him! Recite; O Hisham. So Hisham recited before him in the way as I heard him reciting. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; It has been revealed like this. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Recite; O Umar So recited it. The Prophet ﷺ said; It has been revealed like this. And then he added; This Quran has been revealed to be recited in seven different ways; so recite it whichever way is easier for you.

    Umar Bin AlKhattab; may Allah be pleased with him; narrated: Hafsah bint Umar became single when her husband Khunais Bin Hudhafah AlSahmi died. He was one of the Companions of the Prophet; and he died in AlMadinah. Umar said: I went to Uthman Bin Affan and offered Hafsah in marriage to him. I said: If you wish; I will marry you to Hafsah bint Umar. He said: I will think about it. A few days passed; then I met him and he said: It seems that I do not want to get married at the moment. Umar said: Then I met Abu Bakr AlSiddiq; may Allah be pleased with him; and said: If you wish; I will marry Hafsah bint Umar to you. Abu Bakr remained silent; and did not give me any answer; and I felt more upset with him than I had with Uthman. Several days passed; then the Messenger of Allah proposed marriage to her and I married her to him. Abu Bakr met me and said: Perhaps you felt upset with me when you offered Hafsah in marriage to me; and I did not give you any answer? I said: Yes. He said: Nothing prevented me from giving you an answer when you made the offer to me; except the fact that I had heard the Messenger of Allah speak of her; and I did not want to disclose the secret of the Messenger of Allah. If he had left her; then I would have married her.

He said: I offered the Friday prayer along with him in enclosure. When I uttered the salutation I stood up in my place and prayed. When he went in; he sent me a message saying: Never again do what you have done. When you pray the Friday prayer; you must not join another prayer to it till you have engaged in conversation or gone out; for the Prophet of Allah ﷺ gave the precise command not to join on prayer till you have engaged in conversation or gone out.

He said: Yes; I observed the Jumua prayer along with him in MaqSurat and when the Imam pronounced salutation I stood up at my place and observed Sunan rakahs. As he entered the apartment he sent for me and said: Do not repeat what you have done. Whenever you have observed the Jumua prayer; do not observe Sunan prayer till you; have talked or gone out; for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had ordered us to do this and not to combine two types of prayers without talking or going out.
