Thereupon Umar said: I do not mean that turmoil on a small scale but that one which would emerge like the mounting waves of the ocean. I said: Commander of the Faithful; you have nothing to do with it; for the door is closed between you and that. He said: Would that door be broken or opened? I said: No; it would be broken. Thereupon he said: Then it would not be closed despite best efforts. We said to Hudhaifa: Did Umar know the door? Thereupon he said: Yes; he knew it for certain just as one knows that night precedes the next day. And I narrated to him something in which there was nothing fabricated. So he came to the Prophet ﷺ and greeted him; but signs of displeasure appeared on the face of the Prophet ﷺ till Abu Bakr pitied Umar ; so he knelt and said twice; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Allah! I was more unjust to him than he to me. The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah sent me as a Prophet to you people but you said to me ; You are telling a lie; while Abu Bakr said; He has said the truth; and consoled me with himself and his money. He then said twice; Wont you then give up harming my companion? After that nobody harmed Abu Bakr.

In that situation their statement was not allowed and the owner of the garment had to take an oath. If he rejected it and refused to swear; then the dyer was made to take an oath. Yahya said; I heard Malik speak about a dyer who was given a garment and he made a mistake and gave it to another man and the one to whom he gave it wore it. He said; The one who wore it has no damages against him; and the washer pays damages to the owner of the garment. That is when the man wears the garment which was given him without recognizing that it is not his. If he wears it knowing that it is not his garment; he is responsible for it.

She said; I did so; and when we had completed the hajj; the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; sent me with Abdulrahman Ibn Abi Bakr AlSiddiq to AlTanim and I performed an umra and he said; This is in place of your umra. Those who had entered ihram for the umra did tawaf of the House and say between Safa and Marwa; then left ihram. Then they did another tawaf after returning from Mina for their hajj; whereas those who entered ihram for the hajj or combined the hajj and the umra; only did one tawaf. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said to him; Are all the dates of Khaybar like this? He said;No. By Allah; Messenger of Allah! We take a sa of this kind for two sa or two sa for three. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Do not do that. Sell the assorted ones for dirhams and then buy the good ones with the dirhams.

  Yahya related to me from Malik from Abd arRahman Ibn Harmala that a man asked Said Ibn AlMusayab about what a man who was junub and had done tayammum should do when he came across water. Said said; When he comes across water he must do ghusl for what comes after. Malik said about some one who had a wet dream while he was on a journey and there was only enough water for Ablution and he was not thirsty and so he did not need to use it for that; Let him wash his genitals; and whatever the semen has fallen on; with the water and then he does tayammum with good earth as Allah has ordered him. Malik was asked whether a man who was junub and wished to do tayammum but could only find salty earth could do tayammum with that earth; and whether it was disapproved of to pray on salty earth. He said; There is no harm in praying on salty earth or in using it to do tayammum; because Allah the Blessed and Exalted has said;...and do tayammum with good earth. One is purified by tayammum with everything that is earth; whether it is salty or otherwise.
