SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1483 | Narrated AlAraj: Abu Huraira said; You people claim that Abu Huraira narrates many narrations of Allah Messenger ﷺ. Anyhow with Allah will be our appointment. I was a poor man; and used to stick to Allah Messenger ﷺ contented with what will fill my stomach; and the Muhajirin emigrants used to be busy trading in the markets; and the Ansar used to be busy looking after their properties. One-day I heard Allah Messenger ﷺ saying; Who will spread his Rida a garment covering the upper part of the body till I finished my speech and then fold it; i.e. wrap it over your body ; in which case he will never forget anything he had heard from me. So I spread my garment which I was wearing; and by Him Who sent Muhammad with the Truth; ever since; I have never forgotten whatever I heard from him the Prophet See; Hadith No. 119; Vol. 1 | The Chapter on Garments Selling And Buying in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Some Companions did not witness certain deeds or did hear certain saying of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2084 | Narrated AlZuhri: I heard Urwa Bin AlZubair; Saeed Bin AlMusaiyab; Alqama Bin Waqqas and Ubaidullah Bin Abdullah Bin Uqba relating from Aisha; the wife of the Prophet ﷺ the narration of the people i.e. the liars who spread the slander against her and they said what they said; and how Allah revealed her innocence. Each of them related to me a portion of that narration. They said that Aisha said ; Then Allah revealed the ten Verses starting with:-Verily! Those who spread the slander.. 24.11-21 All these verses were in proof of my innocence. Abu Bakr AlSiddiq who used to provide for Mistah some financial aid because of his relation to him; said; By Allah; I will never give anything in charity to Mistah; after what he has said about Aisha Then Allah revealed:- And let not those among you who are good and are wealthy swear not to give any sort of help to their kins men.... 24.22 On that; Abu Bakr said; Yes; by Allah; I like that Allah should forgive me. and then resumed giving Mistah the aid he used to give him and said; By Allah! I will never withhold it from him. | The Chapter on Revelation Hardship in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To swear something not in one power to swear to do an act disobedience to take an oath in anger in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3095 | Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: There was a Jew in Medina who used to lend me money up to the season of plucking dates. Jabir had a piece of land which was on the way to Ruma. That year the land was not promising; so the payment of the debt was delayed one year. The Jew came to me at the time of plucking; but gathered nothing from my land. I asked him to give me one year respite; but he refused. This news reached the Prophet ﷺ whereupon he said to his companions; Let us go and ask the Jew for respite for Jabir. All of them came to me in my garden; and the Prophet ﷺ started speaking to the Jew; but he Jew said; O Abu Qasim! I will not grant him respite. When the Prophet ﷺ saw the Jew attitude; he stood up and walked all around the garden and came again and talked to the Jew; but the Jew refused his request. I got up and brought some ripe fresh dates and put it in front of the Prophet. He ate and then said to me; Where is your hut; O Jabir? I informed him; and he said; Spread out a bed for me in it. I spread out a bed; and he entered and slept. When he woke up; I brought some dates to him again and he ate of it and then got up and talked to the Jew again; but the Jew again refused his request. Then the Prophet ﷺ got up for the second time amidst the palm trees loaded with fresh dates; and said; O Jabir! Pluck dates to repay your debt. The Jew remained with me while I was plucking the dates; till I paid him all his right; yet there remained extra quantity of dates. So I went out and proceeded till I reached the Prophet and informed him of the good news; whereupon he said; I testify that I am Allah Messenger ﷺ. | The Chapter on Food And Trees in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The eating of a spadix of the palm tree in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3991 | Narrated Abu Huraira: I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! I hear many narrations from you but I forget them. He said; Spread your covering sheet. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5086 | Narrated Abu Huraira: The people say that Abu Huraira narrates too many narrations. In fact Allah knows whether I say the truth or not. They also ask; Why do the emigrants and the Ansar not narrate as he does? In fact; my emigrant brethren were busy trading in the markets; and my Ansar brethren were busy with their properties. I was a poor man keeping the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ and was satisfied with what filled my stomach. So; I used to be present while they i.e. the emigrants and the Ansar were absent; and I used to remember while they forgot the Hadith. One day the Prophet ﷺ said; Whoever spreads his sheet till I finish this statement of mine and then gathers it on his chest; will never forget anything of my statement. So; I spread my covering sheet which was the only garment I had; till the Prophet ﷺ finished his statement and then I gathered it over my chest. By Him Who had sent him i.e. Allah Apostle with the truth; since then I did not forget even a single word of that statement of his; until this day of mine. By Allah; but for two verses in Allah Book; I would never have related any narration from the Prophet. These two verses are : Verily! Those who conceal the clear signs and the guidance which we have sent down..... up to the Merciful. 2.159-160 | The Chapter on Truth And Hypocrisy And Companions In Almadinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on What is said about planting trees in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5323 | Narrated Abu Huraira: You people say that Abu Huraira tells many narrations from Allah Messenger ﷺ and you also wonder why the emigrants and Ansar do not narrate from Allah Messenger ﷺ as Abu Huraira does. My emigrant brothers were busy in the market while I used to stick to Allah Messenger ﷺ content with what fills my stomach; so I used to be present when they were absent and I used to remember when they used to forget; and my Ansari brothers used to be busy with their properties and I was one of the poor men of Suffa. I used to remember the narrations when they used to forget. No doubt; Allah Messenger ﷺ once said; Whoever spreads his garment till I have finished my present speech and then gathers it to himself; will remember whatever I will say. So; I spread my colored garment which I was wearing till Allah Messenger ﷺ had finished his saying; and then I gathered it to my chest. SahihMuslim-017-001-20806 | AlAraj reported that he heard Abu Huraira as saying: You are under the impression that Abu Huraira transmits so many ahadith from Allah Messenger may peace up upon him ; bear in mind Allah is the great Reckoner. I was a poor man and I served Allah Messenger ﷺ being satisfied with bare subsistence; whereas the immigrants remained busy with transactions in the bazar; while the Ansar had been engaged in looking after their properties. SahihMuslim-017-001-20809 | Ibn Shihab transmitted on the authority of Ibn Mousayib that Abu Huraira said: People say that Abu Huraira transmits so many ahadith; whereas Allah is the Reckoner; and they say: How is it with Muhajirs and the Ansar that they do not narrate ahadith like him like Abu Huraira ? Abu Huraira said: I tell you that my brothers from Ansar remained busy with their lands and my brothers Muhajirs were busy in transactions in the bazars; but I always kept myself attached to Allah Messenger ﷺ with bare subsistence. I remained present in the company of the Holy Prophet ; whereas they had been absent. I retained in my mind what the Prophet said ; whereas they forgot it. One day Allah Messenger ﷺ said: He who amongst you spreads the cloth and listens to my talk and would then press it against his chest would never forget anything heard from me. So I spread my mantle and when he had concluded his talk I then pressed it against my chest and so I never forgot after that day anything that he the Holy Prophet said. Anas said: The sky was like a mirror there was no cloud. Then the wind rose; a cloud appeared in the sky and it spread : the sky poured down the water. We came out from the Masjid after the prayer passing through the water till we reached our homes. The rain continued till the following Friday. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat down and we also sat down around him as if birds were over our heads. He had in his hand a stick with which he was scratching the ground. He then raised his head and said: Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment in the grave. He said it twice or thrice. The version of Jabir adds here: He hears the beat of their sandals when they go back; and at that moment he is asked: O so and so! Who is your Lord; what is your religion; and who is your Prophet? Hannad version says: Two angels will come to him; make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: My Lord is Allah. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: My religion is Islam. They will ask him: What is your opinion about the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: He is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They will ask: Who made you aware of this? He will reply: I read Allah Book; believed in it; and considered it true; which is verified by Allah words: Allah Book; believed in it; and considered it true; which is verified by Allah words: Allah establishes those who believe with the word that stands firm in this world and the next. The agreed version reads: Then a crier will call from Heaven: My servant has spoken the truth; so spread a bed for him from Paradise; clothe him from Paradise; and open a door for him into Paradise. So some of its air and perfume will come to him; and a space will be made for him as far as the eye can see. He also mentioned the death of the infidel; saying: His spirit will be restored to his body; two angels will come to him; make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. They will ask: Who was the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. Then a crier will call from Heaven: He has lied; so spread a bed for him from Hell; clothe him from Hell; and open for him a door into Hell. Then some of its heat and pestilential wind will come to him; and his grave will be compressed; so that his ribs will be crushed together.
