SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1086Narrated Abdullah Bin Masud: Allah Messenger ﷺ the true and truly inspired; narrated to us; The creation of everyone of you starts with the process of collecting the material for his body within forty days and forty nights in the womb of his mother. Then he becomes a clot of thick blood for a similar period 40 days and then he becomes like a piece of flesh for a similar period. Then an angel is sent to him by Allah and the angel is allowed ordered to write four things; his livelihood; his date of death; his deeds; and whether he will be a wretched one or a blessed one in the Hereafter and then the soul is breathed into him. So one of you may do good deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise so much that there is nothing except a cubit between him and Paradise but then what has been written for him decides his behavior and he starts doing evil deeds characteristic of the people of Hell Fire and ultimately enters Hell Fire ; and one of you may do evil deeds characteristic of the people of Hell Fire so much so that there is nothing except a cubit between him and Hell Fire ; then what has been written for him decides his behavior and he starts doing good deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise and ultimately enters Paradise. It was said; What are the blessings of this world? The Prophet ﷺ said; The pleasures of the world. A man said; Can the good bring forth evil? The Prophet ﷺ kept quiet for a while till we thought that he was being inspired divinely. Then he started removing the sweat from his forehead and said; Where is the questioner? That man said; I am present. Abu Saeed added: We thanked the man when the result of his question was such. The Prophet ﷺ said; Good never brings forth but good. This wealth of the world is like green and sweet fruit ; and all the vegetation which grows on the bank of a stream either kills or nearly kills the animal that eats too much of it; except the animal that eats the Khadira a kind of vegetation. Such an animal eats till its stomach is full and then it faces the sun and starts ruminating and then it passes out dung and urine and goes to eat again. Our leader has been bitten by a snake or stung by a scorpion and we have treated him with everything but nothing benefited him Has anyone of you anything useful? One of them replied; Yes; by Allah; I know how to treat with a Ruqya. But. by Allah; we wanted you to receive us as your guests but you refused. I will not treat your patient with a Ruqya till you fix for us something as wages. Consequently they agreed to give those travellers a flock of sheep. The man went with them the people of the tribe and started spitting on the bite and reciting Surat AlFatiha till the patient was healed and started walking as if he had not been sick. When the tribe people paid them their wages they had agreed upon; some of them the Prophet companions said; Distribute the sheep. But the one who treated with the Ruqya said; Do not do that till we go to Allah Apostle and mention to him what has happened; and see what he will order us. They said; All of us? She said; Yes; come in all of you; not knowing that Ibn AlZubair was also with them. So when they entered; Ibn AlZubair entered the screened place and got hold of Aisha and started requesting her to excuse him; and wept. So when they increased their reminding her of the superiority of having good relation with Kith and kin; and of excusing others sins ; and brought her down to a critical situation; she started reminding them; and wept; saying; I have made a vow; and the question of vow is a difficult one. They AlMiswar and Abdulrahman persisted in their appeal till she spoke with Abdullah Bin AlZubair and she manumitted forty slaves as an expiation for her vow. Then he said to Bilal: O Bilal; if the time for Asr comes and I have not come back; then tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer. When the time for Asr came; Bilal called the Adhan; then the Iqamah; then he said to Abu Bakr: Go forward. So Abu Bakr went forward and started to pray. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and started passing through the rows of people until he stood behind Abu Bakr; and the people clapped. Abu Bakr was such that whenever he started praying; he would never glance sideways; but when he noticed that the clapping persisted he turned around. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gestured to him to carry on praying. Abu Bakr praised Allah the Mighty and Sublime for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ having told him to continue. Then Abu Bakr moved backward on his heels; and when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw that; he came forward and led the people in prayer. When he completed the prayer he said: O Abu Bakr; when I gestured to you; what kept you from continuing to lead the people ? He said: It does not befit the son of Abu Quhafah to lead the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in prayer. Then the Bedouin called out to the Prophet and said; Are you going to buy this horse or shall I sell it? The Prophet stood up when he heard him calling and said: Have I not bought it from you? He said: No; by Allah; I have not sold it to you; and the Prophet said I bought it from you. The people started to gaiter around the Prophet and the Bedouion as they were talking; and the Bedouin started to say: Bring a witness who will testify that you bought it. They told her to say: Your wives -and he the narrator said something to the effect that they are urging you to be equitable with regard to the matter of the daughter of Abu Quhafah. She said: So she entered upon the Prophet when he was with Aisha under her cover. She said to him: Your wives have sent me and they are urging you to be equitable with regard to the matter of the daughter of Abu Quhafah. The Prophet said to her: Do you love me? She said: Yes. He said: Then love her. So she went back to them and told them what he said. They said to her: You did not do anything; go back to him. She said: By Allah; I will never go back and speak to him about her again. She was truly the daughter of the Messenger of Allah. So they sent Zainab bint Jahsh. Aisha said: She was somewhat my equal among the wives of the Prophet. She said: Your wives have sent me to urge you to be equitable with regard to the matter of the daughter of Abu Quhafa. Then she swooped on me and abused me; and I started watching the Prophet to see if he would give me permission to respond to her. She insulted me and I started to think that he would not disapprove if I responded to her. So I insulted her and I soon silenced her. Then the Prophet said to her: She is the daughter of Abu Bakr. Aisha said: And I never saw any woman who was better; more generous in giving charity; more keen to uphold the ties of kinship; and more generous in giving of herself in everything by means of which she could draw closer to Allah than Zainab. SunanAlNasai-017-001-14973Abd AlMalik Bin Abi Sulaiman said: I heard Saeed Bin Jubair say: I was asked about the two who engage in Lian during the governorship of Ibn AlZubair - should they be separated? I did not know what to say; so I got up and went to the house of Ibn Umar and said: O Abu Abdulrahman should the two who engage in Lian be separated? He said: Yes; Subhan Allah! The first one who asked about that was so-and-so the son of so-and-so who said: O Messenger of Allah; what do you think if a man among us sees his wife committing immoral actions; and if he speaks of it; he will be speaking of a grave matter; but if he keeps quiet; he will be keeping quiet about a grave matter? He did not answer him; then after that; he came to him and said: I was tried with the matter that I asked you about; so Allah; the Mighty and Sublime; revealed these Verses in Surat AlNur.: And for those who accuse their wives until he reached: And the fifth testimony should be that the Wrath of Allah be upon her if he her husband speaks the truth. So he started with the man; exhorting him; reminding him; and telling him that the punishment in this world was less severe than the punishment in the Hereafter. He said: By the One Who sent you with the truth; I am not lying. Then he turned to the woman and exhorted her and reminded her. She said: By the One Who sent you with the truth; he is lying. So he started with the man; and he bore witness four times by Allah that he was telling the truth; and the fifth time he invoked the curse of Allah upon himself if he was lying. SunanAlNasai-017-001-15452It was narrated that Jabir Bin Abdullah said: The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a very hot day. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led his companions in prayer; and he stood for so long that they started to fall over. Then he bowed for a long time; then he stood up and remained standing for a long time. Then he bowed again for a long time; then he stood up again and remained standing for a long time. Then he prostrated twice; then he stood up and did the same again. He started to move forward; then he started to step back. He bowed four times and prostrated four times. They used to say that eclipses of the sun and moon only happened when one of their great men died; but they are two of the signs of Allah SWT that He shows to you; so when an eclipse happens; pray until it is over. The Chapter on Prostration And Eclipse Of The Sun in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Another version in Sunan AlNasai
SunanAlNasai-017-001-15470It was narrated that Abdullah Bin Amr said: The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed and stood for a long time; then he bowed for a long time; then he stood up and remained standing for a long time. One of the narrators Shubh said: I think he said something similar concerning prostration.- He started weeping and blowing during his prostration and said: Lord; You did not tell me that You would do that while I am asking You for forgiveness; You did not tell me that You would do that while I was still among them. When he finished praying he said: Paradise was shown to me; and if I had stretched forth my hand I could have taken some of its fruits. And Hell was shown to me; so I started blowing for fear that its heat might overwhelm you. I saw therein the thief who stole the two camels of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; and I saw therein the brother of Banu As-Dudu; the thief who stole from the pilgrims; and when he was caught he said: The crooked stick did it; and I saw therein a tall black woman who was being punished because of a cat she tied up and did not feed or give it water; and she did not let it eat of the vermin of the earth; until it died. Then sun and the moon do not become eclipsed for the death or birth of anyone; but they are two of the signs of Allah. He started with the prayer before the Khutbah; with no Adhan and no Iqamah. When he finished the prayer; he stood leaning on Bilal; and he praised and glorified Allah SWT and exhorted the people; reminding them and urging them to obey Allah SWT. Then he moved away and went to the women; and Bilal was with him. He commanded them to fear Allah SWT and exhorted them and reminded them. He praised and glorified Allah; then he urged them to obey Allah; then he said: Give charity; for most of you are the fuel of Hell. A lowly woman with dark cheeks said: Why; O Messenger of Allah? MuwataMalik-017-001-34956Yahya said that he heard Malik say; The way of doing things in our community about which there is no dispute; is that if a man gives sadaqa to his son - sadaqa which the son takes possession of or which is in the father keeping and the father has had his sadaqa witnessed; he cannot take back any of it because he cannot reclaim any sadaqa. Yahya said that he heard Malik say; The generally agreed-on way of doing things in our community in the case of someone who gives his son a gift or grants him a gift which is not sadaqa is that he can take it back as long as the child does not start a debt; which people claim from him; and which they trust him for on the strength of the gift his father has given him. The father cannot take back anything from the gift after debts are started against it. If a man gives his son or daughter something and a woman marries the man; and she only marries him for the wealth and the property which his father has given him and so the father wants to take that back; or; if a man marries a woman whose father has given her a gift and he marries her with an increased bride-price because of the wealth and property that her father has given; then the father says; I will take that back; then the father cannot take back any of that from the son or daughter if it is as I have described to you.The Chapter on Charity To Brothers And Mother in HodHood Indexing, The Book of The Description of the Prophet may Allah Bless Him and Grant Him Peace in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35859Yahya related to me from Malik from Abuz AlZubair AlMakki that Abu Maiz AlAslami Abdullah Ibn Sufyan told him that once; when he was sitting with Abdullah Ibn Umar; a woman came to ask him for an opinion. She said; I set out intending to do tawaf of the House; but then; when I got to the gate of the Masjid; I started bleeding; so I went back until it had left me. Then I set out again; and then; when I got to the gate of the Masjid; I started bleeding; so I went back until it had left me. MuwataMalik-017-001-35972Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah Ibn Abi Bakr from his father that Abu Salama Ibn Abdulrahman told him that Umm Sulaym bint Milhan asked the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; for advice one time when she had begun menstruating; or had given birth to a child after she had done tawaf Alifada on the Day of Sacrifice. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; gave her permission to leave. Malik said; A woman menstruating at Mina stays until she has done tawaf of the House. There is no escape from that for her. If she has already done the tawaf Alifada and she starts to menstruate afterwards; she may leave for her country; since permission for the menstruating women to leave has been transmitted to us from the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He added; If a woman starts her period at Mina before she does the tawaf Alifada; and the period lasts longer than usual; she has to stay longer than the time that bleeding would usually detain women. The Chapter on Menstruation And Tawaf in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Fasting in Muwata Malik
