SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1529 | Narrated Abu Said: While the Prophet ﷺ was distributing something; Abdullah Bin Dhi AlKhawaisira AlTamimi came and said; Be just; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The Prophet ﷺ said; Woe to you ! Who would be just if I were not? Umar Bin AlKhattab said; Allow me to cut off his neck ! The Prophet ﷺ said; Leave him; for he has companions; and if you compare your prayers with their prayers and your fasting with theirs; you will look down upon your prayers and fasting; in comparison to theirs. Yet they will go out of the religion as an arrow darts through the game body in which case; if the Qudhadh of the arrow is examined; nothing will be found on it; and when its Nasl is examined; nothing will be found on it; and then its Nadiyi is examined; nothing will be found on it. The arrow has been too fast to be smeared by dung and blood. The sign by which these people will be recognized will be a man whose one hand or breast will be like the breast of a woman or like a moving piece of flesh. These people will appear when there will be differences among the people Muslims. Abu Saeed added: I testify that I heard this from the Prophet ﷺ and also testify that Ali killed those people while I was with him. The man with the description given by the Prophet ﷺ was brought to Ali. The following Verses were revealed in connection with that very person i.e.; Abdullah Bin Dhi AlKhawaisira AlTarnimi : And among them are men who accuse you O Muhammad in the matter of the distribution of the alms. 9.58 | The Chapter on Good Manners And Ghira in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Whoever gave up fighting against AlKhawarij in order to create intimacy in Sahih AlBukhari

Act justly. The Prophets said; Woe to you! Who else would act justly if I did not act justly? Umar said to the Prophet ﷺ ; Allow me to chop his neck off. The Prophet said; No; for he has companions who are apparently so pious that if anyone of you compares his prayer with their prayer; he will consider his prayer inferior to theirs; and similarly his fasting inferior to theirs; but they will desert Islam go out of religion as an arrow goes through the victim body games etc. in which case if its Nasl is examined nothing will be seen thereon; and if its Nady is examined; nothing will be seen thereon; and if its Qudhadh is examined; nothing will be seen thereon; for the arrow has gone out too fast even for the excretions and blood to smear over it. Such people will come out at the time of difference among the Muslim people and the sign by which they will be recognized; will be a man whose one of the two hands will look like the breast of a woman or a lump of flesh moving loosely. He said; It has been affirmed to him. I Abu AlAswad asked; O chief of the believers! What has been affirmed? He replied; I said the same as the Prophet ﷺ had said; that is: if four persons testify the piety of a Muslim; Allah will grant him Paradise. We asked; If three persons testify his piety? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3801 | Narrated Anas: When the news of the arrival of the Prophet ﷺ at Medina reached Abdullah Bin Salam; he went to him to ask him about certain things; He said; I am going to ask you about three things which only a Prophet can answer: What is the first sign of The Hour? What is the first food which the people of Paradise will eat? Why does a child attract the similarity to his father or to his mother? The Prophet ﷺ replied; Gabriel has just now informed me of that. Ibn Salam said; He i.e. Gabriel is the enemy of the Jews amongst the angels. The Prophet ﷺ said; As for the first sign of The Hour; it will be a fire that will collect the people from the East to the West. As for the first meal which the people of Paradise will eat; it will be the caudate extra lobe of the fish-liver. As for the child; if the man discharge proceeds the woman discharge; the child attracts the similarity to the man; and if the woman discharge proceeds the mans; then the child attracts the similarity to the woman. On this; Abdullah Bin Salam said; I testify that None has the right to be worshipped except Allah; and that you are the Messenger of Allah. and added; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Jews invent such lies as make one astonished; so please ask them about me before they know about my conversion to I slam. The Jews came; and the Prophet ﷺ said; What kind of man is Abdullah Bin Salam among you? They replied; The best of us and the son of the best of us and the most superior among us; and the son of the most superior among us. The Prophet ﷺ said; What would you think if Abdullah Bin Salam should embrace Islam? They said; May Allah protect him from that. The Prophet ﷺ repeated his question and they gave the same answer. Then Abdullah came out to them and said; I testify that None has the right to be worshipped except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah! SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3957 | Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: While we were with Allah Messenger ﷺ who was distributing i.e. some property ; there came Dhu AlKhuwaisira; a man from the tribe of Bani Tamim and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Do Justice. The Prophet said; Woe to you! Who could do justice if I did not? I would be a desperate loser if I did not do justice. Umar said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Allow me to chop his head off. The Prophet ﷺ said; Leave him; for he has companions who pray and fast in such a way that you will consider your fasting negligible in comparison to theirs. They recite Quran but it does not go beyond their throats i.e. they do not act on it and they will desert Islam as an arrow goes through a victim body; so that the hunter; on looking at the arrow blade; would see nothing on it; he would look at its Risaf and see nothing: he would look at its Na;di and see nothing; and he would look at its Qudhadh 1 and see nothing neither meat nor blood ; for the arrow has been too fast even for the blood and excretions to smear. The sign by which they will be recognized is that among them there will be a black man; one of whose arms will resemble a woman breast or a lump of meat moving loosely. Those people will appear when there will be differences amongst the people. I testify that I heard this narration from Allah Messenger ﷺ and I testify that Ali Bin Abi Talib fought with such people; and I was in his company. SahihMuslim-017-001-18405 | It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas that a delegation of Abdul Qais came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: Messenger of Allah; verily ours is a tribe of Rabia and there stand between you and us the unbelievers of Mudar and we find no freedom to come to you except in the sacred month. Direct us to an act which we should ourselves perform and invite those who live beside us. Upon this the Prophet remarked: I command you to do four things and prohibit you against four acts. The four deeds which you are commanded to do are : Faith in Allah; and then he explained it for them and said: Testifying the fact. that there is no god but Allah; that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; performance of prayer; payment of Zakat; that you pay Khums one-fifth of the booty fallen to your lot; and I prohibit you to use round gourd; wine jars; wooden pots or skins for wine. Khalaf Bin Hisham has made this addition in his narration: Testifying the fact that there is no god but Allah; and then he with his finger pointed out the oneness of the Lord. | The Chapter on Arab Tribes Delegation in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 6 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18431 | It is narrated on the authority of Sunabihi that he went to Ubada Bin Samit when he was about to die. I burst into tears. Upon this he said to me: Allow me some time so that I may talk with you. Why do you weep? By Allah; if I am asked to bear witness; I would certainly testify for you that you are a believer. Should I be asked to intercede; I would certainly intercede for you; and if I have the power; I would certainly do good to you; and then observed: By Allah; never did I hear anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ which could have been a source of benefit to you and then not conveyed it to you except this single hadith. That I intend to narrate to you today; since I am going to breathe my last. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: He who testifies that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; Allah would prohibit the fire of Hell for him. | The Chapter on Good Deeds To Save Oneself From Hell Fire in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 10 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18436 | It is reported on the authority of Abu Huraira: We were sitting around the Messenger of Allah may peace and blessings be upon him. Abu Bakr and Umar were also there among the audience. In the meanwhile the Messenger of Allah got up and left us; He delayed in coming back to us; which caused anxiety that he might be attacked by some enemy when we were not with him; so being alarmed we got up. I was the first to be alarmed. I; therefore; went out to look for the Messenger of Allah may peace and blessings be upon him and came to a garden belonging to the Banu AlNajjar; a section of the Ansar went round it looking for a gate but failed to find one. Seeing a rabi i. e. streamlet flowing into the garden from a well outside; drew myself together; like a fox; and slinked into the place where God Messenger was. He the Holy Prophet said: Is it Abu Huraira? I Abu Huraira replied: Yes; Messenger of Allah. He the Holy Prophet said: What is the matter with you? replied: You were amongst us but got up and went away and delayed for a time; so fearing that you might be attacked by some enemy when we were not with you; we became alarmed. I was the first to be alarmed. So when I came to this garden; I drew myself together as a fox does; and these people are following me. He addressed me as Abu Huraira and gave me his sandals and said: Take away these sandals of mine; and when you meet anyone outside this garden who testifies that there is no god but Allah; being assured of it in his heart; gladden him by announcing that he shall go to Paradise. Now the first one I met was Umar. He asked: What are these sandals; Abu Huraira? I replied: These are the sandals of the Messenger of Allah with which he has sent me to gladden anyone I meet who testifies that there is no god but Allah; being assured of it in his heart; with the announcement that he would go to Paradise. Thereupon Umar struck me on the breast and I fell on my back. He then said: Go back; Abu Huraira; So I returned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; and was about to break into tears. Umar followed me closely and there he was behind me. The Messenger of Allah may peace and blessings be on him said: What is the matter with you; Abu Huraira? I said: I happened to meet Umar and conveyed to him the message with which you sent me. He struck me on my breast which made me fall down upon my back and ordered me to go back. Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: What prompted you to do this; Umar? He said: Messenger of Allah; my mother and father be sacrificed to thee; did you send Abu Huraira with your sandals to gladden anyone he met and who testified that there is no god but Allah; and being assured of it in his heart; with the tidings that he would go to Paradise? He said: Yes. Umar said: Please do it not; for I am afraid that people will trust in it alone; let them go on doing good deeds. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Well; let them. | The Chapter on in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 10 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18438 | It is narrated on the authority of Itban Bin Malik that he came to Medina and said: Something had gone wrong with my eyesight. I; therefore; sent a message to the Holy Prophet : Verily it is my ardent desire that you should kindly grace my house with your presence and observe prayer there so; that I should make that corner a place of worship. He said: The Prophet ﷺ came there; and those amongst the Companions whom Allah willed also accompanied him. He entered my place and offered prayer at my residence and his Companions began to talk amongst themselves and this conversation centered round hypocrites ; and then the conspicuous one; Malik Bin Dukhshum was made the target and they wished that he the Holy Prophet should curse him and he should die or he should meet some calamity. In the meanwhile the Messenger of Allah may peace and blessings be upon him completed his prayer and said: Does Malik Bin Dukhshum not testify the fact that there is no god but Allah and verily I am the messenger of Allah. They replied: He makes a profession of it no doubt but does not do it out of sincere heart. He the Holy Prophet said: He who testifies that there is no god but Allah and I am the messenger of Allah would not enter Hell or its flames would not consume him. SahihMuslim-017-001-18775 | Anas Bin Malik said: The Apostle of Allah ﷺ said: I would be the first intercessor in the Paradise and no apostle amongst the apostles has been testified by such a large number of people as I have been testified. SahihMuslim-017-001-22092 | Abu Said AlKhudri reported: When we were in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was distributing the spoils of war; there came to him Dh AlKhuwasira; one of Banu Tamim. He said: Messenger of Allah; do justice. Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Woe be upon thee! Who would do justice; if I do not do justice? You would be unsuccessful and incurring a loss; if I do not do justice. Upon this Umar Bin AlKhattab Allah be pleased with him said: Messenger of Allah; permit me to strike off his neck. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Leave him; for he has friends who would outwardly look to be so religious and pious that everyone among you would consider his prayer insignificant as compared with their prayer; and his fast as compared with their fasts. They would recite the Quran but it would not go beyond their collar-bones. They would pass through the teachings of Islam so hurriedly just as the arrow passes through the prey. He would look at its Iron head; but would not find anything ticking there. He would then see at the lowest end; but would not find anything sticking there. He would then see at its grip but would not find anything sticking to it. He would then see at its feathers and he would find nothing sticking to them as the arrow would pass so quickly that nothing would stick to it neither excrement nor blood. They would be recognised by the presence of a black man among them whose upper arms would be like a woman breast; or like a piece of meat as it quivers; and they would come forth at the time when there is dissension among the people. Abu Said said: I testify to the fact that I heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; and I testify to the fact that Ali Bin Abu Talib fought against them and I was with him. He gave orders about that man who was sought for; and when he was brought in; and when I looked at him; he was exactly as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had described him. | The Chapter on Almaghazi And Hunain in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 47 in Sahih Muslim

When he the Muadhdhin says: Come to prayer; one should make a response: There is no might and no power except with Allah. When he the Muadhdhin says: Come to salvation; one should respond: There is no might and no power except with Allah; and when he the Muadhdhin says: Allah is the Greatest; Allah is the Greatest; then make a response: Allah is the Greatest; Allah is the Greatest. When any one of you sits during the prayer; he should say: All services rendered by words; by acts of worship; and all good things are due to Allah. Peace be upon you; O Prophet; and Allah mercy and blessings. Peace be upon us and upon Allah upright servants; for when he says this it reaches every upright servant in the heavens and the earth. He the narrator said: When Abu Mousa had finished the prayer after salutation he turned towards the people and said: Who amongst you said such and such a thing? A hush fell on the people. He again said: Who amongst you has said such and such a thing? A hush fell on the people. He Abu Mousa said: Hattan; it is perhaps you that have uttered it. He Hattan said No. I have not uttered it. I was afraid that you might be annoyed with me on account of this. A person amongst the people said: It was I who said it; and in this I intended nothing but good. Abu Mousa said: Dont you know what you have to recite in your prayers? Verily the Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us and explained to us all its aspects and taught us how to observe prayer properly. He the Holy Prophet said: When you pray make your rows straight and let anyone amongst you act as your Imam. Recite the takbir when he recites it and when he recites: Not of those with whom Thou art angry; nor of those who go astray; say: Amin. Allah would respond you. And when he the Imam recites the takbir; you may also recite the takbir; for the Imam bows before you and raises himself before you. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The one is equivalent to the other. And when he says: Allah listens to him who praises Him; you should say: O Allah; our Lord; to Thee be the praise; for Allah; the Exalted and Glorious; has vouchsafed us through the tongue of His Apostle ﷺ that Allah listens to him who praises Him. And when he the Imam recites the takbir and prostrates; you should also recite the takbir and prostrate; for the Imam prostrates before you and raises himself before you. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The one is equivalent to the other. And when he the Imam sits for Qada for tashahhud the first words of every one amongst you should be: All services rendered by words; acts of worship and all good things are due to Allah. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10055 | Narrated Saeed Bin Jubair: I was asked about those who were involved in the case of Lian and if they are to be separated; during the leadership of mousab Bin AlZubair. I did not know what to say. So I went to the house of Abdullah Bin Umar and I sought permission to enter. I was told he was taking a nap; but he heard me taking and he said: Is it Ibn Jubair? Enter. You would not have come except for a need. He said: So I entered and found him laying on a saddlecloth from his mount. I said: O Abu Abdulrahman Are those involved in Lian separated? He said: Glorious is Allah! Yes. The first who asked about hat was so-and-so the son of so-and-so. He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said O Messenger of Allah! If one of us saw his wife committing adultery; what should he do? If he were to say anything; his statement would be a horrible matter; and if he were to remain silent; his silence about the matter would be horrible. He said: So the Prophet ﷺ remained silent and did not answer him. Afterwards he came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: The one who asked you about it has been tried by it. So Allah revealed these Ayat from Surat AlNur: And those who accuse their wives and have no witnesses except themselves; let the testimony of one of them be four testimonies by Allah 24:6-10 - until the end of those Ayat. He said: So he called for the man and recited the Ayat to him and admonished him; reminded him; and he told him: Indeed the punishment of the world is less than the punishment of the Hereafter. So he said: Nay! By the One Who sent you with the Truth! I did not lie about her. Then he ﷺ did the same with the woman; admonishing her and reminding her and he told her: Indeed the punishment of the world is less than the punishment of the Hereafter. She said: Nay! By the One Who sent you with the Truth! He is not telling the truth. He said: So he started with the man: He testified four times; by Allah that he is one of the truthful; and the fifth time that the curse of Allah be upon him if he was one of the liars. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-9952 | Narrated Muslim Bin Yasar AlJuhani: that Umar Bin AlKhattab was asked about this Ayah: And when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam; from their loins; their seed and made them testify as to themselves: Am I not your Lord? They said: Yes! We testify; lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: Verily; we have been unaware of this 7:172. So Umar Bin AlKhattab said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ being asked about it. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Indeed Allah created Adam; then He wiped his back with His Right Hand; and his offspring came out of him. So he said: I created these for Paradise; and they will do the deeds of the people of Paradise. Then He wiped his back; and his offspring came out of him. So He said: I created these for the Fire; and they will do the deeds of the people of the Fire. A man said: Then of what good is doing deeds O Messenger of Allah! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Verily; when Allah created a man for Paradise; He makes him perform the deeds of the people of Paradise; until he dies doing one of the deeds of the people of Paradise. So Allah will admit him into Paradise. And when He created a man for the Fire; He makes him perform the deeds of the people of the Fire until he dies doing the deeds of the people of the Fire. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25093 | Ibn Abbas said Hilal Bin Umayah accused his wife in the presence of Prophet ﷺ of having committed adultery with Sharik Bin Sahma. The Prophet ﷺ said Produce evidence or you must receive punishment on your back. He said Apostle of Allaah ﷺ when one of us sees a man having intercourse with his wife should he go and seek evidence? But the Prophet ﷺ merely said You must produce evidence or you must receive punishment on your back. Hilal then said By Him Who sent you with the Truth; I am speaking Truly. May Allaah send down something which will free my back from punishment. Then the following Quranic verses were revealed And those who make charges against their spouses but have no witnesses except themselves reciting till he reached one of those who speak the truth. The Prophet ﷺ then returned and sent for them and they came to him. Hilal Bin Umayah stood up and testified and the Prophet ﷺ was saying Allaah knows that one of you is lying. Will one of you repent? Then the woman got up and testified; but when she was about to do it a fifth time saying that Allaahs anger be upon her if he was one of those who spoke the truth; they said to her this is the deciding one. Ibn Abbas said She then hesitated and drew back so that we thought the she would withdraw what she said Look and see whether she gives birth to a child with eyes looking as if they have antimony in them; wide buttocks and fat legs; if she did. Sharik Bin Sahma will be its father. She then gave birth to a child of a similar description. The Prophet ﷺ thereupon said If it were not for what has already been stated in Allaahs book I would have dealt severely with her.Abu Dawud said This tradition has been transmitted by the people of Medina alone. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25095 | Ibn Abbas said Hilal Bin Umayah was one of the three persons whose repentance was accepted by Allaah. One night he returned from his land and found a man along with his wife. He witnessed with his eyes and heard with his ears. He did not threaten him till the morning. Next day he went to the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ in the morning and said Apostle of Allaah ﷺ I came to my wife in the night and found a man along with her. I saw with my own eyes and heard with my own ears. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ disliked what he described and he took it seriously. There upon the following Quranic verse came down And those who make charges against their spouses but have no witnesses except themselves; let the testimony of one of them.... When the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ came to himself after the revelation ended he said Glad tidings to you Hilal; Allaah the exalted has made ease and a way out for you. Hilal said I expected that from my Lord. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said Send for her. She then came. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ recited the verses to them and he reminded them and told them that the punishment in the next world was more severe than that in n this world. Hilal said I swear by Allah I spoke the truth against her. She said He told a lie. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said Apply the method of invoking curses on one another. Hilal was told Bear witness. So he bore witness before Allaah four times that he spoke the truth. When he was about to utter the fifth time he was told Hilal fear Allah; for the punishment in this world is easier than that in the next world and this is the deciding one; that will surely cause punishment to you. He said I swear by Allaah. Allah will not punish me for this act ; as He did not cause me to be flogged for this act. So he bore witness a fifth time invoking the curse of Allah on him if he was of those who tell a lie. Then the people said to her; Testify. So she gave testimony before Allaah that he was a liar. When she was going to testify the fifth time she was told Fear Allah; for the punishment in this world is easier than that in the next world. This is the deciding one that will surely cause punishment to you. She hesitated for a moment. And then said By Allah; I will not disgrace my people. So she testified a fifth time invoking the curse of Allah on her if he spoke the truth. Apostle of Allaah ﷺ separated them from each other and decided that the child will not be attributed to its father. Neither she nor her child will be accused of adultery. He who accuses her or her child will be liable to punishment. He also decided that there will be no dwelling and maintenance for her from the husband as they were separated without divorce and death. He then said If she gives birth to a child with reddish hair; light buttocks; wide belly and light shins he will be the child of Hilal. If she bears a dusky child with curly hair; fat limbs; fat shins and fat buttocks he will be the child of the one who was accused of adultery. She gave birth to a child with curly hair; fat limbs; fat shins and fat buttocks. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25320 | Narrated Samurah Ibn Jundub: When; a boy from the Ansar and I were shooting arrows towards two of our targets; the sun was sighted by the people at the height of two or three lances above the horizon. It became black like the black herb called tannumah. One of us said to his companion: Let us go to the Masjid; by Allah; this incident of the sun will surely bring something new in the community of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. As we reached it; we suddenly saw that he the Prophet had already come out of his house. He stepped forward for a long time as much as he could do so in the prayer. But we did not hear his voice. He then performed a bowing and prolonged it as much as he could do in the prayer. But we did not hear his voice. He then prostrated himself with us and prolonged it which he never did in the prayer before. But we did not hear his voice. He then did similarly in the second rakah. The sun became bright when he sat after the second rakah. Then he uttered the salutation. Salman said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sometimes would be angry; and said in anger something to some of his Companions; he would be sometimes pleased and said in pleasure something to some of his Companions. Would you not stop until you create love of some people in the hearts of some people; and hatred of some people in the hearts of some people; and until you generate disagreement and dissension? SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27484 | Narrated Muadh Ibn Jabal: Prayer passed through three stages and fasting also passed through three stages. The narrator Nasr reported the rest of the tradition completely. The narrator; Ibn AlMuthanna; narrated the story of saying prayer facing in the direction of Jerusalem. He said: The third stage is that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Medina and prayed; i.e. facing Jerusalem; for thirteen months. Then Allah; the Exalted; revealed the verse: We have seen thee turning thy face to Heaven for guidance; O Muhammad. And now verily We shall make thee turn in prayer toward a qiblah which is dear to thee. So turn thy face toward the Inviolable Place of Worship; and ye O Muslims ; wherever ye may be; turn your face when ye pray toward it ii.144. And Allah; the Reverend and the Majestic; turned them towards the Kabah. He the narrator completed his tradition. The narrator; Nasr; mentioned the name of the person who had the dream; saying: And Abdullah Ibn Zayd; a man from the Ansar; came. The same version reads: And he turned his face towards the qiblah and said: Allah is most great; Allah is most great; I testify that there is no god but Allah; I testify that there is no god but Allah; I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; come to prayer he pronounced it twice ; come to salvation he pronounced it twice ; Allah is Most Great; Allah is most great. He then paused for a while; and then got up and pronounced in a similar way; except that after the phrase Come to salvation he added. The time for prayer has come; the time for prayer has come. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Teach it to Bilal; then pronounce the adhan call to prayer with the same words. As regards fasting; he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast for three days every month; and would fast on the tenth of Muharram. Then Allah; the Exalted; revealed the verse:.......Fasting was prescribed for those before you; that ye may ward off evil......and for those who can afford it there is a ransom: the feeding of a man in need ii.183-84. If someone wished to keep the fast; he would keep the fast; if someone wished to abandon the fast; he would feed an indigent every day; it would do for him. But this was changed. Allah; the Exalted; revealed: The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran.......... let him fast the same number of other days ii.185. Hence the fast was prescribed for the one who was present in the month of Ramadan and the traveller was required to atone for them ; feeding the indigent was prescribed for the old man and woman who were unable to fast. MuwataMalik-017-001-34931 | Yahya said that he heard Malik say; The way of doing things generally agreed upon in our community in the case of a man who dies and has sons and one of them claims; My father confirmed that so-and- so was his son; is that the relationship is not established by the testimony of one man; and the confirmation of the one who confirmed it is only permitted as regards his own share in the division of his father property. The one testified for is only given his due from the share of the testifier. Malik said; An example of this is that a man dies leaving two sons; and 600 dinars. Each of them takes 300 dinars. Then one of them testifies that his deceased father confirmed that so-and-so was his son. The one who testifies is obliged to give 100 dinars to the one thus connected. This is half of the inheritance of the one thought to be related; had he been related. If the other confirms him; he takes the other 100 and so he completes his right and his relationship is established. His position is similar to that of a woman who confirms a debt against her father or her husband and the other heirs deny it. She must pay to the person whose debt she confirms; the amount according to her share of the full debt; had it been confirmed against all the heirs. If the woman inherits an eighth; she pays the creditor an eighth of his debt. If a daughter inherits a half; she pays the creditor half of his debt. Whichever women confirm him; pay him according to this. Malik said; If a man testimony is in agreement with what the woman testified to; that so- and-so had a debt against his father; the creditor is made to take an oath with one witness and he is given all his due. This is not the position with women because a man testimony is allowed and the creditor must take an oath with the testimony of his witness; and take all his due. If he does not take an oath; he only takes from the inheritance of the one who confirmed him according to his share of the debt; because he confirmed his right and the other heirs denied it. It is permitted for him to confirm it. | The Chapter on Debt And Creditors And Property Inheritance in HodHood Indexing, The Book of The Description of the Prophet may Allah Bless Him and Grant Him Peace in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35427 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya Ibn Said from Amr Ibn Kathir Ibn Aflah from Abu Muhammad; the mawla of Abu Qatada that Abu Qatada Ibn Ribi said; We went out with the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; in the year of Hunayn. When the armies met; the Muslims were put in disarray. I saw a man from the idol worshippers who had got the better of one of the Muslims; so I circled round and came up behind him; and struck him with a sword on his shoulder-blade. He turned to me and grabbed me so hard that I felt the smell of death in it. Then death overcame him; and he let go of me. He continued; I met Umar Ibn AlKhattab and said to him; What going on with the people? He replied; The Command of Allah. Then the people took hold of the battle and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Whoever has killed one of the dead and can prove it; can strip him of his personal effects. I stood up and said; Who will testify for me? and then I sat down. The Messenger of Allah repeated; Whoever has killed one of the dead and can prove it; can strip him of his personal effects. I stood up and said; Who will testify for me? then I sat down. Then he repeated his statement a third time; so I stood up; and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; What the matter with you; Abu Qatada? So I related my story to him. A man said; He has spoken the truth; Messenger of Allah. I have the effects of that slain person with me; so give him compensation for it; Messenger of Allah. Abu Bakr said; No; by Allah! He did not intend that one of the lions of Allah should fight for Allah and His Messenger and then give you his spoils. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; He has spoken the truth; hand it over to him. He gave it to me; and I sold the breast-plate and I bought a garden in the area of the Banu Salima with the money. It was my first property; and I acquired it in Islam. | The Chapter on Truth And Hypocrisy Punishment in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Divorce in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-36057 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Urwa Ibn AlZubair from Abdulrahman Ibn Abd AlQari that he heard Umar Ibn AlKhattab say; while he was teaching people the tashahhud from the mimbar; Say; Greetings belong to Allah. Pure actions belong to Allah. Good words and prayers belong to Allah. Peace on you; Prophet; and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and on the slaves of Allah who are salihun. I testify that there is no god except Allah. And I testify that Muhammad is His slave and His messenger. AlTahiyatu lillah; AlZakiyatu lillah; AlTayibatu was-salawatu lillah. MuwataMalik-017-001-36058 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah Ibn Umar used to say the tashahhud saying; In the name of Allah. Greetings belong to Allah. Prayers belong to Allah. Pure actions belong to Allah. Peace be on the Prophet and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be on us and on the slaves of Allah who are salihun. I testify that there is no god except Allah. I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Bismillah; AlTahiyatu lillah; AlSalawatu lillah; AlZakiyatu lillah. AlSalamu alan-nabiyi wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. AlSalamu alayna wa ala ibadillahis-salihin. Shahidtu an la ilaha illallah. Shahidtu anna Muhammad AlRasulullah. He used to say this after the first two rakas and he would make supplication with whatever seemed fit to him when the tashahhud was completed. When he sat at the end of the prayer; he did the tashahhud in a similar manner; except that after the tashahhud he made supplication with whatever seemed fit to him. When he had completed the tashahhud and intended to say the taslim; he said; Peace be on the Prophet and His mercy and blessings. Peace be upon us and on the slaves of Allah who are salihun. Alsalamu alan-nabiyi wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. AlSalamu alayna wa ala ibadillahissalihin. He then said; Peace be upon you to his right; and would return the greeting to the imam; and if anyone said Peace be upon you from his left he would return the greeting to him. | The Chapter on Worship And Tashahhud in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Zakat in Muwata Malik
