Thou wilt see them bow and prostrate themselves (in prayer), seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure. On their faces are their marks, (being) the traces of their prostration. This is their similitude in the Taurat; and their similitude in the Gospel is: like a seed which sends forth its blade, then makes it strong; it then becomes thick, and it stands on its own stem, (filling) the sowers with wonder and delight. As a result, it fills the Unbelievers with rage at them. Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous deeds forgiveness, and a great Reward. |

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1356 | Narrated Hudhaifa: Allah Messenger ﷺ related to us; two prophetic narrations one of which I have seen fulfilled and I am waiting for the fulfillment of the other. The Prophet ﷺ told us that the virtue of honesty descended in the roots of men hearts from Allah and then they learned it from the Quran and then they learned it from the Sunna the Prophet traditions. The Prophet ﷺ further told us how that honesty will be taken away: He said: Man will go to sleep during which honesty will be taken away from his heart and only its trace will remain in his heart like the trace of a dark spot; then man will go to sleep; during which honesty will decrease further still; so that its trace will resemble the trace of blister as when an ember is dropped on one foot which would make it swell; and one would see it swollen but there would be nothing inside. People would be carrying out their trade but hardly will there be a trustworthy person. It will be said; in such-and-such tribe there is an honest man; and later it will be said about some man; What a wise; polite and strong man he is! Though he will not have faith equal even to a mustard seed in his heart. No doubt; there came upon me a time when I did not mind dealing bargaining with anyone of you; for if he was a Muslim his Islam would compel him to pay me what is due to me; and if he was a Christian; the Muslim official would compel him to pay me what is due to me; but today I do not deal except with such-and-such person. | The Chapter on Pulpit And Khutba And Preaching Morals in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on If a Muslim stays among the bad people in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2198 | Narrated Hudhaifa: Allah Messenger ﷺ narrated to us two narrations; one of which I have seen happening and I am waiting for the other. He narrated that honesty was preserved in the roots of the hearts of men in the beginning and then they learnt it honesty from the Quran; and then they learnt it from the Prophets Sunna tradition. He also told us about its disappearance; saying; A man will go to sleep whereupon honesty will be taken away from his heart; and only its trace will remain; resembling the traces of fire. He then will sleep whereupon the remainder of the honesty will also be taken away from his heart and its trace will resemble a blister which is raised over the surface of skin; when an ember touches one foot; and in fact; this blister does not contain anything. So there will come a day when people will deal in business with each other but there will hardly be any trustworthy persons among them. Then it will be said that in such-and-such a tribe there is such-and-such person who is honest; and a man will be admired for his intelligence; good manners and strength; though indeed he will not have belief equal to a mustard seed in his heart. The narrator added: There came upon me a time when I did not mind dealing with anyone of you; for if he was a Muslim; his religion would prevent him from cheating; and if he was a Christian; his Muslim ruler would prevent him from cheating; but today I cannot deal except with so-and-so and so-and-so. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5584 | Narrated Safwan Bin Yala Bin Umaiya from his father who said: A man came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was at Jirana. The man was wearing a cloak which had traces of Khaluq or Sufra a kind of perfume. The man asked the Prophet ﷺ ; What do you order me to perform in my Umra? So; Allah inspired the Prophet ﷺ divinely and he was screened by a place of cloth. I wished to see the Prophet ﷺ being divinely inspired. Umar said to me; Come! Will you be pleased to look at the Prophet ﷺ while Allah is inspiring him? I replied in the affirmative. Umar lifted one corner of the cloth and I looked at the Prophet ﷺ who was snoring. The sub-narrator thought that he said: The snoring was like that of a camel. When that state was over; the Prophet ﷺ asked; Where is the questioner who asked about Umra? Put off your cloak and wash away the traces of Khaluq from your body and clean the Sufra yellow color and perform in your Umra what you perform in your Hajj i.e. the Tawaf round the Kaba and the Sai between Safa and Marwa. | The Chapter on Revelation And Quraish in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The same ceremonies in Umra as in Hajj in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-623 | Narrated Humaid: Anas said; The Prophet ﷺ said; O Bani Salima! Dont you think that for every step of yours that you take towards the Masjid there is a reward while coming for prayer ? Mujahid said: Regarding Allah Statement: We record that which they have sent before them ; and their traces 36.12. Their traces means their steps. And Anas said that the people of Bani Salima wanted to shift to a place near the Prophet ﷺ but Allah Messenger ﷺ disliked the idea of leaving their houses uninhabited and said; Dont you think that you will get the reward for your footprints. Mujahid said; Their foot prints mean their foot steps and their going on foot. | The Chapter on Knowledge And Mujahid in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Every step towards good deeds is rewarded in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6344 | Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Messenger ﷺ sent out ten spies under the command of Aasi m Bin Thabit AlAnsari; the grand-father of Aasi m Bin Umar AlKhattab. When they reached a place called AlHadah between Usfan and Mecca; their presence was made known to a sub-tribe of Hudhail called Banu Lihyan. So they sent about one hundred archers after them. The archers traced the footsteps of the Muslims till they found the traces of dates which they had eaten at one of their camping places. The archers said; These dates are of Yathrib i.e. Medina ; and went on tracing the Muslims footsteps. When Aasi m and his companions became aware of them; they took refuge in a high place. But the enemy encircled them and said; Come down and surrender. We give you a solemn promise and covenant that we will not kill anyone of you. Aasi m Bin Thabit said; O people! As for myself; I will never get down to be under the protection of an infidel. O Allah! Inform your Prophet about us. So the archers threw their arrows at them and martyred Aasi m. Three of them came down and surrendered to them; accepting their promise and covenant and they were Khubaib; Zaid Bin AlDathina and another man. When the archers got hold of them; they untied the strings of the arrow bows and tied their captives with them. The third man said; This is the first proof of treachery! By Allah; I will not go with you for I follow the example of these. He meant the martyred companions. The archers dragged him and struggled with him till they martyred him. Then Khubaib and Zaid Bin AlDathina were taken away by them and later on they sold them as slaves in Mecca after the event of the Badr battle. The sons of AlHarit Bin Amr Bin Nawfal bought Khubaib for he was a person who had killed their father AlHari Bin Amr on the day of the battle of Badr. Khubaib remained imprisoned by them till they decided unanimously to kill him. One day Khubaib borrowed from a daughter of AlHarith; a razor for shaving his pubic hair; and she lent it to him. By chance; while she was inattentive; a little son of hers went to him i.e. Khubaib and she saw that Khubaib had seated him on his thigh while the razor was in his hand. She was so much terrified that Khubaib noticed her fear and said; Are you afraid that I will kill him? Never would I do such a thing. Later on while narrating the story she said; By Allah; I had never seen a better captive than Khubaib. By Allah; one day I saw him eating from a bunch of grapes in his hand while he was fettered with iron chains and at that time there was no fruit in Mecca. She used to say; It was food Allah had provided Khubaib with. When they took him to AlHil out of Mecca sanctuary to martyr him; Khubaib requested them. Allow me to offer a two-rakat prayer. They allowed him and he prayed two rakat and then said; By Allah! Had I not been afraid that you would think I was worried; I would have prayed more. Then he invoked evil upon them saying; O Allah! Count them and kill them one by one; and do not leave anyone of them Then he recited: As I am martyred as a Muslim; I do not care in what way I receive my death for Allah Sake; for this is for the Cause of Allah. If He wishes; He will bless the cut limbs of my body. Then Abu Sarva; Ubqa Bin AlHarith went up to him and killed him. It was Khubaib who set the tradition of praying for any Muslim to be martyred in captivity before he is executed. The Prophet ﷺ told his companions of what had happened to those ten spies on the same day they were martyred. Some Quraish people; being informed of Aasi m Bin Thabit death; sent some messengers to bring a part of his body so that his death might be known for certain; for he had previously killed one of their leaders in the battle of Badr. But Allah sent a swarm of wasps to protect the dead body of Aasi m; and they shielded him from the messengers who could not cut anything from his body. | The Chapter on Military Expedition Martyrs in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Military Expeditions led by the Prophet AlMaghaazi in Sahih AlBukhari |

SahihMuslim-017-001-22716 | Yala Bin Umaya reported on the authority of his father Allah be pleased with them that a person came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as he was at Jirana and he the person had been putting on a cloak which was perfumed; or he the narrator said: There was a trace of yellowness on it. He said to the Holy Prophet : What do you command me to do during my Umra? It was at this juncture that the revelation came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was covered with a cloth; and Yala said: Would that I see revelation coming to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He Hadrat Umar said: Would it please you to see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ receiving the revelations Umar lifted a corner of the cloth and I looked at him and he was emitting a sound of snorting. He the narrator said: I thought it was the sound of a camel. When he was relieved of this he said: Where is he who asked about Umra? When the person came; the Prophet ﷺ said: Wash out the trace of yellowness; or he said: the trace of perfume and put off the cloak and do in your Umra what you do in your Hajj. | The Chapter on Revelation Hardship in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 1 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-22720 | Yala reported: We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that a person came to him with a cloak on him having the traces of scent. He said; Messenger of Allah; I put on Ihram for Umra: what should I do? He the Holy Prophet kept quiet and did not make him any reply. And Umar screened him and it was usual with Umar that when the revelation descended upon him; he provided him shade with the help of a piece of cloth. I the person who came to the Holy Prophet said: I said to Umar I wish to project my head into the cloth to see how the Prophet receives revelation. So when the revelation began to descend upon him Umar wrapped him the Holy Prophet with cloth I came to him and projected my head with him into the cloth; and saw him the Holy Prophet receiving the revelation. When he the Holy Prophet was relieved of its burden ; he said: Where is the inquirer who was just inquiring about Umra? That man came to him. He Ibn Masuad said: No; but we were in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one night and we missed him. We searched for him in the valleys and the hills and said. He has either been taken away by jinn or has been secretly killed. He the narrator said. We spent the worst night which people could ever spend. When it was dawn we saw him coming from the side of Hiri. He the narrator reported. We said: Messenger of Allah; we missed you and searched for you; but we could not find you and we spent the worst night which people could ever spend. He the Holy Prophet said: There came to me an inviter on behalf of the Jinn and I went along with him and recited to them the Quran. He the narrator said: He then went along with us and showed us their traces and traces of their embers. They the Jinn asked him the Holy Prophet about their provision and he said: Every bone on which the name of Allah is recited is your provision. The time it will fall in your hand it would be covered with flesh; and the dung of the camels is fodder for your animals. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27718 | Nafi said on the authority of Ibn Umar that when he began prayer; he uttered the takbir Allah is most great and raised his hands; and when he bowed he raised his hands ; and when he said: Allah listens to him who praises Him; he raised his hands ; and when he stood up at the end of two rakahs; he raised his hands. He Ibn Umar traced that back to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.Abu Dawud said: What is correct is that the tradition reported by Ibn Umar does not go back to the Prophet may peace beupon him.Abu Dawud said: The narrator Baqiyah reported the first part of this tradition from Ubaid Allah and traced it back to the Prophet ﷺ ; and the narrator AlThaqafi reported it from Ubaid Allah as a statement of Ibn Umar himself not from the Porphet. In this version he said: When he stood at the end of two rakahs he raised them up to his breasts. And this is the correct version.Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been transmitted as a statement of Ibn Umar and not of the Prophet by AlLaith Bin Sad; Malik; Ayoub ; and Ibn Juraij; and this has been narrated as a statement of the Prophet ﷺ by Hammad Bin Salamah alone on the authority of Ayoub. Ayoub and Malik did not mention his raising of hands when he stood after two prostrations; but AlLaith mentioned it in his version. Ibn Juraij said in this version: I asked Nafi: Did Ibn Umar raise his hands higher for the first time? He said: No; I said: Point out to me. He then pointed to the breasts or lower than that. | The Chapter on The Format Of Prostration in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Beginning Of The Prayer in Sunan Abu Dawoud |

MuwataMalik-017-001-35026 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that he was asked about the suckling of an older person. He said; Urwa Ibn AlZubair informed me that Abu Hudhayfa Ibn Utba Ibn Rabia; one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; who was present at Badr; adopted Salim who is called Salim; the mawla of Abu Hudhayfa as the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; adopted Zayd Ibn Haritha. He thought of him as his son; and Abu Hudhayfa married him to his brother sister; Fatima bint AlWalid Ibn Utba Ibn Rabia; who was at that time among the first emigrants. She was one of the best unmarried women of the Quraysh. When Allah the Exalted sent down in His Book what He sent down about Zayd Ibn Haritha; Call them after their true fathers. That is more equitable in the sight of Allah. If you do not know who their fathers were then they are your brothers in the deen and your mawali; Surat 33 ayat 5 people in this position were traced back to their fathers. When the father was not known; they were traced to their mawla. Sahla bint Suhayl who was the wife of Abu Hudhayfa; and one of the tribe of Amr Ibn Luay; came to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and said; Messenger of Allah! We think of Salim as a son and he comes in to see me while I am uncovered. We only have one room; so what do you think about the situation? The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Give him five drinks of your milk and he will be mahram by it. She then saw him as a foster son. Aisha umm Almuminin took that as a precedent for whatever men she wanted to be able to come to see her. She ordered her sister; Umm Kulthum bint Abi Bakr AlSiddiq and the daughters of her brother to give milk to whichever men she wanted to be able to come in to see her. The rest of the wives of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; refused to let anyone come in to them by such nursing. They said; No! By Allah! We think that what the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered Sahla bint Suhayl to do was only an indulgence concerning the nursing of Salim alone. No! By Allah! No one will come in upon us by such nursing! This is what the wives of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; thought about the suckling of an older person. | The Chapter on Permission To Enter The House in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Setting Free and Wala in Muwata Malik |
