O Allah! All the praises are for you; You are the Holder of the Heavens and the Earth; And whatever is in them. Butter and honey were dropping from it and I saw the people gathering it in their hands; some gathering much and some a little. And behold; there was a rope extending from the earth to the sky; and I saw that you the Prophet held it and went up; and then another man held it and went up and after that another third held it and went up; and then after another fourth man held it; but it broke and then got connected again. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1683 | Narrated Malik Bin Aus: I went and entered upon Umar; his doorman; Yarfa came saying Uthman; Abdulrahman AlZubair and Saad are asking your permission to see you. May I admit them? Umar said; Yes. So he admitted them Then he came again and said; May I admit Ali and Abbas? He said; Yes. Abbas said; O; chief of the believers! Judge between me and this man Ali. Umar said; I beseech you by Allah by Whose permission both the heaven and the earth exist; do you know that Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Our the Apostles property will not be inherited; and whatever we leave after our death is to be spent in charity? And by that Allah Messenger ﷺ meant himself. The group said; No doubt ; he said so. Umar then faced Ali and Abbas and said; Do you both know that Allah Messenger ﷺ said that? They replied; No doubt ; he said so. Umar said; So let me talk to you about this matter. Allah favored His Apostle with something of this Fai i.e. booty won by the Muslims at war without fighting which He did not give to anybody else; Allah said:- And what Allah gave to His Apostle Fai Booty.........to do all things.... 59.6 And so that property was only for Allah Messenger ﷺ. Yet; by Allah; he neither gathered that property for himself nor withheld it from you; but he gave its income to you; and distributed it among you till there remained the present property out of which the Prophet ﷺ used to spend the yearly maintenance for his family; and whatever used to remain; he used to spend it where Allah property is spent i.e. in charity etc.. Allah Messenger ﷺ followed that throughout his life. Now I beseech you by Allah; do you know all that? They said; Yes. Umar then said to Ali and Abbas; I beseech you by Allah; do you know that? Both of them said; Yes. Umar added; And when the Prophet ﷺ died; Abu Bakr said; I am the successor of Allah Messenger ﷺ ; and took charge of that property and managed it in the same way as Allah Messenger ﷺ did. Then I took charge of this property for two years during which I managed it as Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr did. Then you both Ali and Abbas came to talk to me; bearing the same claim and presenting the same case. O Abbas! You came to me asking for your share from the property of your nephew; and this man Ali came to me; asking for the share of h is wife from the property of her father. I said; If you both wish; I will give that to you on that condition i.e. that you would follow the way of the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr and as I Umar have done in man aging it. Now both of you seek of me a verdict other than that? Lo! By Allah; by Whose permission both the heaven and the earth exist; I will not give any verdict other than that till the Hour is established. So he admitted them and they entered; greeted; and sat down. After a short while Yarfa came again and said to Umar Shall I admit Ali and Abbas? Umar said; Yes. Umar then turned towards All and Abbas and said. I beseech you both by Allah; do you know that Allah Messenger ﷺ said that? They said; Yes Umar said; Now; let me talk to you about this matter. And Allah said:- And what Allah has bestowed on His Apostle as Fai Booty from them for which you made no expedition with either cavalry or camelry... Allah is Able to do all things. 59.6 So this property was especially granted to Allah Messenger ﷺ. But by Allah he neither withheld it from you; nor did he keep it for himself and deprive you of it; but he gave it all to you and distributed it among you till only this remained out of it. And out of this property Allah Messenger ﷺ used to provide his family with their yearly needs; and whatever remained; he would spend where Allah Property the revenues of Zakat used to be spent. Allah Messenger ﷺ kept on acting like this throughout his lifetime. Now I beseech you by Allah; do you know that? They said; Yes. Then Umar said to Ali and Abbas; I beseech you by Allah; do you both know that? They said; Yes. Umar added; When Allah had taken His Apostle unto Him; Abu Bakr said; I am the successor of Allah Messenger ﷺ. So he took charge of that property and did with it the same what Allah Messenger ﷺ used to do; and both of you knew all about it then. Then Umar turned towards Ali and Abbas and said; You both claim that Abu Bakr was so-and-so! But Allah knows that he was honest; sincere; pious and right in that matter. Then Allah caused Abu Bakr to die; and I said; I am the successor of Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr. So I kept this property in my possession for the first two years of my rule; and I used to do the same with it as Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr used to do. Later both of you Ali and Abbas came to me with the same claim and the same problem. O Abbas! You came to me demanding your share from the inheritance of the son of your brother; and he Ali came to me demanding his wives share from the inheritance of her father. So I said to you; If you wish I will hand over this property to you; on condition that you both promise me before Allah that you will manage it in the same way as Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr did; and as I have done since the beginning of my rule; otherwise you should not speak to me about it. So you both said; Hand over this property to us on this condition. And on this condition I handed it over to you. I beseech you by Allah; did I hand it over to them on that condition? The group said; Yes. Umar then faced Ali and Abbas and said; I beseech you both by Allah; did I hand it over to you both on that condition? They both said; Yes. Umar added; Do you want me now to give a decision other than that? By Him with Whose permission order both the Heaven and the Earth stand fast; I will never give any decision other than that till the Hour is established! SahihMuslim-017-001-17895 | It has been reported on the authority of Anas Bin Malik who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Busaisah as a scout to see what the caravan of Abu Sufyan was doing. He came back and met the Prophet in his house where there was nobody except myself and the Messenger of Allah. I do not remember whether he Hadrat Anas made an exception of some wives of the Prophet ﷺ or not and told him the news of the caravan. Having heard the news ; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out hurriedly ; spoke to the people and said: We are in need of men ; whoever has an animal to ride upon ready with him should ride with us. People began to ask him permission for bringing their riding animals which were grazing on the hillocks near Medina. He said: No. I want only those who have their riding animals ready. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his Companions proceeded towards Badr and reached there forestalling the polytheists of Mecca. When the polytheists also reached there; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: None of you should step forward to do anything unless I am ahead of him. The polytheists now advanced towards us ; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said. Get up to enter Paradise which is equal in width to the heavens and the earth. Umair Bin AlHumam AlAnsari said: Messenger of Allah; is Paradise equal in extent to the heavens and the earth? He said: Yes. Umair said: My goodness! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him: What prompted you to utter these words i. e. my goodness! ? He said: Messenger of Allah; nothing but the desire that I be among its residents. He said: Thou art surely amona its residents. He took out dates from his bag and began to eat them. Then he said: If I were to live until I have eaten all these dates of mine; it would be a long life. The narrator said : He threw away all the dates he had with him. SahihMuslim-017-001-18040 | It is reported by Zuhri that this tradition was narrated to him by Malik Bin Aus who said: Umar Bin AlKhattab sent for me and I came to him when the day had advanced. I found him in his house sitting on his bare bed-stead; reclining on a leather pillow. He said to me : Malik; some people of your tribe have hastened to me with a request for help. I have ordered a little money for them. Take it and distribute it among them. I said: I wish you had ordered somebody else to do this job. He said: Malik; take it and do what you have been told. At this moment his man-servant Yarfa came in and said: Commander of the Faithful; what do you say about Uthman; Abd AlRabman Bin Auf; AlZubair and Saad who have come to seek an audience with you ? He said: Yes; and permitted them. so they entered. Then he Yarfa came again and said: What do you say about Ali and Abbas who are present at the door ? He said: Yes; and permitted them to enter. Abbas said: Commander of the Faithful; decide the dispute between me and this sinful; treacherous; dishonest liar. The people who were present also said: Yes. Commander of the Faithful; do decide the dispute and have mercy on them. Malik Bin Aus said: I could well imagine that they had sent them in advance for this purpose by Ali and Abbas. Umar said: Wait and be patient. I adjure you by Allah by Whose order the heavens and the earth are sustained; dont you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: We prophets do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is to be given in charity? They said: Yes. Then he turned to Abbas and Ali and said: I adjure you both by Allah by Whose order the heavens and earth are sustained; dont you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: We do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is to be given in charity? They too said: Yes. Then Umar said: Allah; the Glorious and Exalted; had done to His Messenger ﷺ a special favour that He has not done to anyone else except him. He quoted the Quranic verse: What Allah has bestowed upon His Apostle from the properties of the people of township is for Allah and His Messenger. The narrator said: I do not know whether he also recited the previous verse or not. Umar continued: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distrbuted among you the properties abandoned by Banu Nadir. By Allah; he never preferred himself over you and never appropriated anything to your exclusion. After a fair distribution in this way this property was left over. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would meet from its income his annual expenditure; and what remained would be deposited in the Bait AlMal. Continuing further he said: I adjure you by Allah by Whose order the heavens and the earth are sustained. Do you know this? They said: Yes. Then he adjured Abbas and All as he had adjured the other persons and asked: Do you both know this? They said: Yes. He said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away; Abu Bakr said: I am the successor of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Both of you came to demand your shares from the property left behind by the Messenger of Allah. Referring to Hadrat Abbas ; he said: You demanded your share from the property of your nephew; and he referring to Ali demanded a share on behalf of his wife from the property of her father. Abu Bakr Allah be pleased with him said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had said: We do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is to be given in charity. So both of you thought him to be a liar; sinful; treacherous and dishonest. And Allah knows that he was true; virtuous; well-guided and a follower of truth. When Abu Bakr passed away and I have become the successor of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Abu Bakr Allah be pleased with him ; you thought me to be a liar; sinful; treacherous and dishonest. And Allah knows that I am true; virtuous; well-guided and a follower of truth. I became the guardian of this property. Then you as well as he came to me. Both of you have come and your purpose is identical. You said: Entrust the property to us. I said: If you wish that I should entrust it to you; it will be on the condition that both of you will undertake to abide by a pledge made with Allah that you will use it in the same way as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used it. So both of you got it. He said: Wasnt it like this? They said: Yes. He said: Then you have again come to me with the request that I should adjudge between you. No; by Allah. I will not give any other judgment except this until the arrival of the Doomsday. SahihMuslim-017-001-18085 | It has been narrated on the authority of Anas that when the news of the advance of Abu Sufyan at the head of a force reached him. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ held consultations with his Companions. The narrator said: Abu Bakr spoke expressing his own views ; but he the Holy Prophet did not pay heed to him. Then spoke Umar expressing his views ; but he the Holy Prophet did not pay heed to him too. Then Saad Bin Ubada stood up and said: Messenger of Allah; you want us to speak. By God in Whose control is my life; if you order us to plunge our horses into the sea; we would do so. If you order us to goad our horses to the most distant place like Bark AlGhimad; we would do so. The narrator said: Now the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called upon the people for the encounter. So they set out and encamped at Badr. Soon the water-carriers of the Quraish arrived. Among them was a black slave belonging to Banu AlHajjaj. The Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ caught him and interrogated him about Abu Sufyan and his companions. He said: I know nothing about Abu Sufyan; but Abu Jahl; Utba; Shaiba and Umaya Bin Khalaf are there. When he said this; they beat him. Then he said: All right; I will tell you about Abu Sufyan. They would stop beating him and then ask him again about Abu Sufyan. He would again say; I know nothing about Abu Sufyan; but Abu Jahl. Utba; Shaiba and Umaya Bin Khalaf are there. When he said this; they beat him likewise. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was standing in prayer. When he saw this he finished his prayer and said: By Allah in Whose control is my life; you beat him when he is telling you the truth; and you let him go when he tells you a lie. SahihMuslim-017-001-18392 | It is reported on the authority of Anas Bin Malik that he said: We were forbidden that we should ask anything without the genuine need from the Holy Prophet. It; therefore; pleased us that an intelligent person from the dwellers of the desert should come and asked him the Holy Prophet and we should listen to it. A man from the dwellers of the desert came to the Holy Prophet and said: Muhammad; your messenger came to us and told us your assertion that verily Allah had sent you as a prophet. He the Holy Prophet remarked: He told the truth. He the bedouin said: Who created the heaven? He the Holy Prophet replied: Allah. He the bedouin again said: Who created the earth? He the Holy Prophet replied: Allah. He the bedouin again said: Who raised these mountains and who created in them whatever is created there? He the Holy Prophet replied: Allah. Upon this he the bedouin remarked: By Him Who created the heaven and created the earth and raised mountains thereupon; has Allah in fact sent you? He the Holy Prophet said: Yes. He the bedouin said: Your messenger also told us that five prayers had been made obligatory for us during the day and the night. He the Holy Prophet remarked: He told you the truth. He the bedouin said: By Him Who sent you; is it Allah Who ordered you about this i. e. prayers ? He the Holy Prophet said: Yes. He the bedouin said: Your messenger told us that Zakat had been made obligatory in our riches. He the Holy Prophet said. He has told the truth. He the bedouin said: By Him Who sent you as a prophet ; is it Allah Who ordered you about it Zakat ? He the Holy Prophet said: Yes. He the bedouin said: Your messenger told us that it had been made obligatory for us to fast every year during the month of Ramadan. He the Holy Prophet said: He has told the truth. I asked that they were. She said: He who presumed that Muhammad ﷺ saw his Lord with his ocular vision fabricated the greatest lie against Allah. I was reclining but then sat up and said: Mother of the Faithful; wait a bit and do not be in a haste. And it is carried by the angels to its Lord; the Exalted and Glorious. He would say: Take it to its destined end. And if he is a nonbeliever and as it the soul leaves the body-Hammad made a mention of its foul smell and of its being cursed-the dwellers of the sky say: There comes a dirty soul from the side of the earth; and it would be said: Take it to its destined end. SahihMuslim-017-001-19151 | Yusair Bin Jabir reported: Once there blew a red storm in Kufah that there came a person who had nothing to say but these words : Abdullah Bin Masud; the Last Hour has come. He Abdullah Bin Masud was sitting reclining against something; and he said: The Last Hour would not come until shares of inheritance are not distributed and there is no rejoicing over spoils of war. Then he said pointing towards Syria; with the gesture of his hand like this: The enemy shall muster strength against Muslims and the Muslims will muster strength against them Syrians. I said: You mean Rome? And he said: Yes; and there would be a terrible fight and the Muslims would prepare a detachment for fighting unto death which would not return but victorious. They will fight until night will intervene them; both the sides will return without being victorious and both will be wiped out. The Muslims will again prepare a detachment for fighting unto death so that they may not return but victorious. When it would be the fourth day; a new detachment out of the remnant of the Muslims would be prepared and Allah will decree that the enemy should be routed. And they would fight such a fight the like of which would not be seen; so much so that even if a bird were to pass their flanks; it would fall down dead before reaching the end of them. There would be such a large scale massacre that when counting would be done; only one out of a hundred men related to one another would be found alive. So what can be the joy at the spoils of such war and what inheritance would be divided! They would be in this very state that they would hear of a calamity more horrible than this. And a cry would reach them: The Dajjal has taken your place among your offspring. They will; therefore; throw away what would be in their hands and go forward sending ten horsemen; as a scouting party. SahihMuslim-017-001-19240 | AlNawas Bin Saman reported that Allah Messenger ﷺ made a mention of the Dajjal one day in the morning. He ﷺ sometimes described him to be insignificant and sometimes described his turmoil as very significant and we felt as if he were in the cluster of the date-palm trees. When we went to him to the Holy Prophet in the evening and he read the signs of fear in our faces; he ﷺ said: What is the matter with you? We said: Allah Messenger; you made a mention of the Dajjal in the morning sometimes describing him to be insignificant and sometimes very important; until we began to think as if he were present in some near part of the cluster of the date-palm trees. Thereupon he ﷺ said: I harbor fear in regard to you in so many other things besides the Dajjal. If he comes forth while I am among you; I shall contend with him on your behalf; but if he comes forth while I am not amongst you; a man must contend on his own behalf and Allah would take care of every Muslim on my behalf and safeguard him against his evil. He Dajjal would be a young man with twisted; contracted hair; and a blind eye. I compare him to Abd AlUzza Bin Qatan. He who amongst you would survive to see him should recite over him the opening verses of Surat Kahf xviii. He would appear on the way between Syria and Iraq and would spread mischief right and left. O servant of Allah! adhere to the path of Truth. We said: Allah Messenger; how long would he stay on the earth? He ﷺ said: For forty days; one day like a year and one day like a month and one day like a week and the rest of the days would be like your days. We said: Allah Messenger; would one day prayer suffice for the prayers of day equal to one year? Thereupon he ﷺ said: No; but you must make an estimate of time and then observe prayer. We said: Allah Messenger; how quickly would he walk upon the earth? Thereupon he ﷺ said: Like cloud driven by the wind. He would come to the people and invite them to a wrong religion and they would affirm their faith in him and respond to him. He would then give command to the sky and there would be rainfall upon the earth and it would grow crops. Then in the evening; their pasturing animals would come to them with their humps very high and their udders full of milk and their flanks stretched. He would then come to another people and invite them. But they would reject him and he would go away from them and there would be drought for them and nothing would be left with them in the form of wealth. He would then walk through the waste land and say to it: Bring forth your treasures; and the treasures would come out and collect themselves before him like the swarm of bees. He would then call a person brimming with youth and strike him with the sword and cut him into two pieces and make these pieces lie at a distance which is generally between the archer and his target. He would then call that young man and he will come forward laughing with his face gleaming with happiness and it would be at this very time that Allah would send Christ; son of Mary; and he will descend at the white minaret in the eastern side of Damascus wearing two garments lightly dyed with saffron and placing his hands on the wings of two Angels. When he would lower his head; there would fall beads of perspiration from his head; and when he would raise it up; beads like pearls would scatter from it. Every non-believer who would smell the odor of his self would die and his breath would reach as far as he would be able to see. He would then search for him Dajjal until he would catch hold of him at the gate of Ludd and would kill him. Then a people whom Allah had protected would come to Jesus; son of Mary; and he would wipe their faces and would inform them of their ranks in Paradise and it would be under such conditions that Allah would reveal to Jesus these words: I have brought forth from amongst My servants such people against whom none would be able to fight; you take these people safely to Tur. And then Allah would send Gog and Magog and they would swarm down from every slope. The first of them would pass the lake of Tiberias and drink out of it. And when the last of them would pass; he would say: There was once water there. Jesus and his companions would then be besieged here at Tur; and they would be so much hard pressed that the head of the ox would be dearer to them than one hundred dinars and Allah Apostle; Jesus; and his companions would supplicate Allah; Who would send to them insects which would attack their necks and in the morning they would perish like one single person. Allah Apostle; Jesus; and his companions would then come down to the earth and they would not find in the earth as much space as a single span which is not filled with their putrefaction and stench. Allah Apostle; Jesus; and his companions would then again beseech Allah; Who would send birds whose necks would be like those of Bactrian camels and they would carry them and throw them where God would will. Then Allah would send rain which no house of clay or the tent of camels hairs would keep out and it would wash away the earth until it could appear to be a mirror. Then the earth would be told to bring forth its fruit and restore its blessing and; as a result thereof; there would grow such a big pomegranate that a group of persons would be able to eat that; and seek shelter under its skin and milch cow would give so much milk that a whole party would be able to drink it. So they will come to Adam saying: You are our father Adam; so intercede for us with your Lord. So he says: I committed a sin for which I was expelled to the earth; so go to Nuh. So they will come to Nuh and he will say: I supplicated against the people of the earth; so they were destroyed. So go to Ibrahim. So they will go to Ibrahim; and he says: I lied three times. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He did not lie except defending Allah religion. So go to Mousa. So they will come to Mousa; and he will say: I took a life. So go to Eisa. So they go to Eisa and he says: I was worshiped besides Allah. So go to Muhammad ﷺ. He said: So they will come to me; and I will go to them. One of the narrators Ibn Judan said: Anas said: It is as if I am looking at the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; and he is saying: So I will take hold of a ring of a gate of Paradise to rattle it; and it will be said: Who is there? It will be said: Muhammad. They will open it for me; and welcome me saying; Welcome. I will fall prostrate and Allah will inspire me with statements of gratitude and praise and it will be said to me: Raise your head; ask and you shall be given; intercede; and your intercession shall be accepted; speak; and your saying shall be heard. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10339 | It was narrated from AlNawas Bin Saman; who said: The Messenger of Allah s.a.w mentioned the Dajjal one morning; he belittled him and mentioned his importance until we thought that he might be amidst a cluster of date-palms. He said: We departed from the presence of the Messenger of Allah s.a.w ; then we returned to him; and he noticed that concern in us. So he said: What is wrong with you? We said: O Messenger of Allah! You mentioned the Dajjal this morning; belittling him; and mentioning his importance until we thought that he might be amidst a cluster of the date-palms. He said: It is not the Dajjal that I fear for you. If he were to appear while I am among you; then I will be his adversary on your behalf. How fast will he move through the earth. He said: Like a rain storm driven by the wind. He will come upon a people and call them; and they will deny him; and reject his claims. Then he will leave them; and their wealth will follow him. They will awaken in the morning with nothing left. Then he will come upon a people and call them; and they will respond to him; believing in him. So he will order the Heavens to bring rain; and it shall rain; and he will order the land to sprout; and it will sprout. Their cattle will return to them with their coats the longest; their udders the fullest and their stomachs the fattest. He said: Then he will come upon some ruins; saying to it: Bring me your treasures! He will turn to leave it; and it will follow him; like drone bees. Then he will call a young man; full of youth; and he will strike him with the sword cutting him into two pieces. Then he will call him; and he will come forward with his face beaming and laughing. So while he is doing that; Eisa Bin Mariam; ﷺ ; will descend in eastern Damascus at the white minaret; between two Mahrud; with his hands on the wings of two angels. When he lowers his head; drops fall; and when raises it; gems like pearls drop from him. He said: His the Dajjals breath does not reach anyone but he dies; and his breath reaches as far as his sight. He said: So he pursues him the Dajjal and he catches up with him at the gate of Ludd where he kills him. He said: So he remains there as long as Allah wills. He said: Then Allah reveals to him: Take my slaves to AlTur; for I have sent down some creatures of Mine which no one shall be able to kill. He said: Allah dispatches Yajuj and Majuj; and they are as Allah said: They swoop down from every mount.He said: The first of them pass by the lake of Tiberias; drinking what is in it. Then the last of them pass by it saying: There was water here at one time. They travel until they reach a mountain at Bait AlMaqdis. They will say: We have killed whoever was in the earth. Come! Let us kill whoever is in the skies. They will shoot their arrows into the Heavens; so Allah will return their arrows to them red with blood. Eisa Bin Mariam and his Companions be surrounded; until the head of a bull on that day would be better to them than a hundred Dinar to one of you today. He s.a.w said: Eisa will beseech Allah; as will his companions. He said: So Allah will send AlNaghaf down upon their necks. In the morning they will find that they have all died like the death of a single soul. He said: Eisa and his companions will come down; and no spot nor hand-span can be found; except that it is filled with their stench; decay and blood. So Eisa will beseech Allah; as will his companions. So Allah will send upon them birds like the necks of Bukht milch camels. They will carry them off and cast them into an abyss. The Muslims will burn their bows; arrows and quivers for seventy years. He s.a.w said: Allah will send upon them a rain which no house of hide nor mud will bear. The earth will be washed; leaving it like a mirror. Then it will be said to the earth: bring forth your fruits and return your blessings. So on that day; a whole troop would eat a pomegranate and seek shade under its skin. Milk will be so blessed that a large group of people will be sufficed by one milking of a camel. And that a tribe will be sufficed by one milking of a cow; and that a group will be sufficed by the milking of sheep. While it is like that; Allah will send a wind which grabs the soul of every believer; leaving the remainder of the people copulating publicly like the copulation of donkeys. Therefore Abu Bakr became angry with her and said: You detained the people and they have no water with them. Thereupon Allah; the Exalted; sent down revelation about it to His Apostle ﷺ granting concession to purify themselves with pure earth. Then the Muslims stood up with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and struck the ground with their hands and then they raised their hands; and did not take any earth in their hands. Then they wiped with them their faces and hands up to the shoulders; and from their palms up to the armpits Ibn Yahya added in his version: Ibn Shihab said in his tradition: The people do not take this tradition into account.Abu Dawud said: Ibn Ishaq also reported it in a similar way. In this version he said on the authority of Ibn Abbas. He mentioned the words two strikes i.e. striking the earth twice as mentioned by Yunus. And Mamar also narrated on the authority of AlZuhri two strikes. And Malik said: From AlZuhri from Ubaid Allah Bin Abdullah from his father on the authority of Ammar. Abu Uwais also reported it in a similar way on the authority of AlZuhri. But Ibn Uyainah doubted it; he sometimes said: from his father; and sometimes he said: from Ibn Abbas. Ibn Uyainah was confused in it and in his hearing from AlZuhri. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27946 | Abdullah Bin Masud said: when we prayed and sat up during prayer along the Messenger of Allah may peach be upon him ; we said: Peace be to Allah before it is supplicated for His servants; peace be to so and so. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Do not say Peace be to Allah ;for Allah Himself is peace. When one of you sits during the prayer ; he should say: The adoration of the tongue are due to Allah; and acts of worship and all good things. Peace be upon you; O Prophet; and Allahs mercy and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon Allahs upright servants. When you say that; it reaches every upright servant in heavens and earth or between heavens and earth. I testify that there is no god but Allah; and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and apostle. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29234 | Narrated Malik Bin Aws Bin AlHadathan: Umar sent for me when the day rose high. I found him sitting on a couch without cover. When I entered upon him; he said: Malik; some people of you tribe gradually came here; and I have ordered to give them something; so distribute it among them. I said: If you assigned this work to some other person; it would be better. He said: Take it. Then Yarfa came to him and said: Commander of the Faithful; will you permit Uthman Bin Affan; Abdulrahman Bin Awuf ; AlZubair Bin AlAwam; and Saad b; Abi Waqqas to enter ? He said: Yes. So he permitted them and they entered. Yarfa again came to him and said: Commander of the Faithful; would you permit AlAbbas and Ali ? He said: Yes. He then permitted them and they entered. AlAbbas said: Commander of Faithful; decide between me and this; referring to Ali. Some of them said: Yes; Commander of the Faithful; decide between them and give them comfort. Malik Bin Aws said: It occurred to me that both of them brought the other people for this. Umar said: Show patience do not make haste. He then turned towards those people and said: I adjure you by Allah by Whose order the heaven and earth stand. Do you know that Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: We are not inherited whatever we leave is sadaqah alms. They said: Yes. He then turned towards Ali and AlAbbas and said: I adjure you by Allah by Whose order the heaven and earth stand. Do you know that Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: We are not inherited whatever we leave is sadaqah alms. They said: Yes. He then said: Allah has appointed for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a special portion in the booty which he did not do for anyone. Allah; Most High; said: What Allah has bestowed on His Apostle and taken away from them - for this ye made no expedition with either cavalry or camelry. But Allah gives power to His apostles over any He pleases ; and Allah has power over all things. Allah bestowed the property of Banu AlNadir on His Apostle. I swear by Allah; he did not reserve it for himself; nor did he take it over and above you. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to his share for his maintenance annually; or used to take his contribution and give his family their annual contribution from this property ; then take what remained and deal with it as he did with Allah property. He then turned towards those people and said: I adjure you by Allah by Whose order the heaven and earth stand. Do you know that ? They said: Yes. He then turned towards Ali and AlAbbas and said: I adjure you by Allah by Whose order the heaven and earth stand. Do you know that ? They said: Yes. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ died; Abu Bakr said: I am the protector of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Then you and this Ali came to Abu Bakr; demanding a share from the inheritance of your cousin; and this Ali demanding the share of his wife from the property of her father. Abu Bakr then said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: We are not inherited. Whatever we leave is sadaqah. Allah knows that he Abu Bakr was true; faithful; rightly-guided; and the follower of Triuth. Abu Bakr then administered it property of the Prophet. When Abu Bakr died; I said: I am the protector of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Abu Bakr. So I administered whatever Allah wished. Then you and this Ali came. Both of you are at one; and your matter is the same. So they asked me for it property ; and I said: If you wish I give it to you on condition that you are bound by the covenant of Allah; meaning that you will administer it as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to administer. So you took it from me on that condition. Then again you have come to me so that I decide between you other than that. I swear by Allah; I shall not decide between you other than that till the Last Hour comes. If you helpless; return it to me.Abu Dawud said: They asked him for making it half between them; and not that they were ignorant of the fact the Prophet ﷺ said: We are not inherited. Whatever we leave is sadaqah alms. They were also seeking the truth. You are the light of the heavens and the earth and praise belongs toYou.You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and praise belongs to You. You are the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them. You are the Truth; and Your words are true. Your promise is true; and the meeting with You is true. The Garden is true and the Fire is true and the Hour is true. O Allah; I submit toYou and I accept You and I trust in You and I turn to You and I argue by You and I summon toYou for judgement. MuwataMalik-017-001-35612 | Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard people of knowledge say; When a woman dies and there are no women with her to wash her and no man who has the right by blood ties to take charge of that for her and no husband to take charge of it for her; she should be purified by tayammum ;that is; by wiping her face and hands with earth. Malik said; When a man dies and there are only women with him; they also should purify him with earth. Malik said; There is no particular way with us for washing the dead nor any recognised way to do it. MuwataMalik-017-001-36169 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Abd arRahman Ibn Harmala that a man asked Said Ibn AlMusayab about what a man who was junub and had done tayammum should do when he came across water. Said said; When he comes across water he must do ghusl for what comes after. Malik said about some one who had a wet dream while he was on a journey and there was only enough water for Ablution and he was not thirsty and so he did not need to use it for that; Let him wash his genitals; and whatever the semen has fallen on; with the water and then he does tayammum with good earth as Allah has ordered him. Malik was asked whether a man who was junub and wished to do tayammum but could only find salty earth could do tayammum with that earth; and whether it was disapproved of to pray on salty earth. He said; There is no harm in praying on salty earth or in using it to do tayammum; because Allah the Blessed and Exalted has said;...and do tayammum with good earth.
