That is the similitude of those who reject Our signs; So relate the story; perchance they may reflect.

I said: Even if they the trained dogs kill that the game ? He the Holy Prophet said: Even if these kill; but on the condition that no other dog; which you did not set off along with your dogs ; participates in catching the game. I said to him: I throw Mirad; a heavy featherless blunt arrow; for hunting and killing the game. Thereupon he said: When you throw Mirad; and it pierces; then eat; but if it falls flatly and beats the game to death ; then do not eat that. SahihMuslim-017-001-17424		Adi Bin Hatim reported: I asked Allah Messenger ﷺ saying: We are a people who hunt with these trained dogs; then what should we do ? SahihMuslim-017-001-17425		Adi Bin Hatim reported that he asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about hunting with the help of an arrow having a stub end. He said: If it strikes the game with its point; then eat; but if it strikes flatly and it dies; that is Waqidh beaten into death ; do not eat that. I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about hunting with the help of dogs; whereupon he said. When you send your dog for hunting reciting the name of Allah; then eat the game ; but if some part of it is eaten by the dogs; then do not eat that; for it your dog has caught that the-game for itself. I again said: If I find along with my dog another dog; and do not know which of the dogs has caught the game. then what should I do ? Thereupon he Allah Messenger said: Then dont eat that; for you recited the name of Allah on your dog and not on the other one. But if you find another dog besides it; and you fear that that dog the second one had caught it the game along with that your dog and killed it. then dont eat; for you recited the name of Allah on your dog and did not recite that on the other one which joined your dog incidentally. SahihMuslim-017-001-17434		Abu Thalaba AlKhushani reported: I came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said: Allah Messenger; we are in the land of the People of the Book; so we eat in their utensils; and live in a hunting region. where I hunt with; the help of my bow; and hunt with my trained dog; or with my dog which is not trained. So inform me what is lawful Halal for us out of that. He the Holy Prophet said: Regarding what you have mentioned of the fact that you live in the land belonging to the People of the Book and so you eat in their utensils; but if you can get utensils other than theirs; then dont eat in them; but if you do not find any; then wash them and eat in them. And regarding what you have mentioned about your living in a hunting region; what you hunt; strike with the help of your bow; recite the name of Allah while shooting an arrow and then eat; and what you catch with the help of your trained dog; recite the name of Allah while letting oil the dog and then eat it; and what you get with the help of your untrained dog; if you find it alive and slaughter it according to the law of the Shariah ; eat it. SahihMuslim-017-001-20514		Maimuna reported that one morning Allah Messenger ﷺ was silent with grief. Maimuna said: Allah Messenger; I find a change in your mood today. It was said to Abu Dharr: What is the problem with the black dog rather than the red or white one? He said: O my nephew! I asked Allah Messenger just as you have asked me. He said: The black dog is a Shaitan devil. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29597		Abu Huraira reported the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ as saying While a man was going on his way; he felt himself thirsty severely. He found a well and e went down in it. He drank water and came out. Suddenly he saw a dog panting and eating soil due to thirst. The man said to himself This dog must have reached the same condition due to thirst as I had reached. So he went down into the well; filled his sock with water; held it with his mouth and came up. He supplied water to the dog. Allaah appreciated this and forgave him. They asked Apostle of Allaah ﷺ ; Is there any reward for us for these beasts? He replied; For every cool liver there is a reward. MuwataMalik-017-001-34721		Yahya related to me from Malik from Sumay; the mawla of Abu Bakr from Abu Salih AlSamman from Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; A man was walking on a road when he became very thirsty. He found a well and went into it and drank and came out. There was a dog panting and eating earth out of thirst. The man said; This dog has become as thirsty as I was. He went down into the well and filled his shoe and then held it in his mouth until he climbed out and gave the dog water to drink. Allah thanked him for it and forgave him. They said; Messenger of Allah; do we have a reward for taking care of beasts? He said; There is a reward for every one with a moist liver. By the earnings of a prostitute he meant what a woman was given for fornication. The earnings of a fortune teller were what he was given to tell a fortune. Malik said; I disapprove of the price of a dog; whether it is a hunting dog or otherwise because the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; forbade the price of a dog. MuwataMalik-017-001-35169		Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard the people of knowledge say that when a man hit game and something else might have contributed to death; like water or an untrained dog; that game was not to be eaten unless it was beyond doubt that it was the arrow of the hunter that had killed it by reaching a vital organ; so that it did not have any life after that. Yahya said that he heard Malik say that there was no harm in eating game when you did not see it die if you found the mark of your dog on it or your arrow in it as long as it had not remained overnight. MuwataMalik-017-001-35173		Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard some of the people of knowledge say that when falcons; eagles; and hawks and their like; understood as trained dogs understood; there was no harm in eating what they had killed in the course of hunting; if the name of Allah had been mentioned when they were sent out. Malik said; The best of what I have heard about retrieving game from the falcon talons or from the dog fangs and then waiting until it dies; is that it is not halal to eat it. Malik said; The same applies to anything which could have been slaughtered by the hunter when it was in the talons of the falcon or the fangs of the dog. If the hunter leaves it until the falcon or dog has killed it; it is not halal to eat it either. He continued; The same thing applies to any game hit by a hunter and caught while still alive; which he neglects to slaughter before it dies. Malik said; It is generally agreed among us that it is halal to eat the game that a hunting-dog belonging to magians hunts or kills; if it is sent out by a muslim and the animal is trained. There is no harm in it even if the muslim does not actually slaughter it. It is the same as a muslim using a magian knife to slaughter with or using his bow and arrows to shoot and kill with. The game he shot and the animal he slaughters are halal. There is no harm in eating them. If a magian sends out a muslim hunting dog for game; and it catches it; the game is not to be eaten unless it is slaughtered by a muslim. That is like a magian using a muslim bow and arrow to hunt game with; or like his using a muslim knife to slaughter with. It is not halal to eat anything killed like that. MuwataMalik-017-001-35819		Malik said; It is not halal to eat any game that has been hunted in the Haram; or has had a dog set after it in the Haram and then been killed outside the Haram. Anyone that does that has to pay a forfeit for what has been hunted. However; some one that sets his dog after game outside the Haram and then follows it until it is hunted down in the Haram does not have to pay any forfeit; unless he set the dog after the game near to the Haram. The game should not be eaten; however. If he set the dog loose near the Haram then he has to pay a forfeit for the game. MuwataMalik-017-001-35824		Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that Umar Ibn AlKhattab told people to kill snakes in the Haram. Malik said; about the wild dogs which people were told to kill in the Haram; that any animals that wounded; attacked; or terrorised men; such as lions; leopards; Iynxes and wolves; were counted aswild dogs. However; someone who was in ihram should not kill beasts of prey that did not attack people ; such as hyenas; foxes; cats and anything else like them; and if he did then he had to pay a forfeit for it. Similarly; someone in ihram should not kill any predatory birds except the kinds that the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; specified; namely crows and kites.
