Allah has ordered you to supplicate Him has and promised that He will answer your prayer. Then he said: Praise be to Allah; the Lord of the Universe; the Compassionate; the Merciful; the Master of the Day of Judgment. There is no god but Allah Who does what He wishes. O Allah; Thou art Allah; there is no deity but Thou; the Rich; while we are the poor. Send down the rain upon us and make what Thou sendest down a strength and satisfaction for a time. He then raised his hands; and kept raising them till the whiteness under his armpits was visible. He then turned his back to the people and inverted or turned round his cloak while keeping his hands aloft. He then faced the people; descended and prayed two rakahs. Allah then produced a cloud; and the storm of thunder and lightning came on. Then the rain fell by Allah permission; and before he reached his Masjid streams were flowing. When he saw the speed with which the people were seeking shelter; he ﷺ laughed till his back teeth were visible. Then he said: I testify that Allah is Omnipotent and that I am Allah servant and apostle.Abu Dawud said: This is a ghraib rate tradition; but its chain is sound. The people of Medina recite maliki instead of maaliki yawm Aldin the master of the Day Of Judgment. But this tradition in which the word maalik occurs is an evidence for them.

He asked: What is this? She replied: My dolls. Among them he saw a horse with wings made of rags; and asked: What is this I see among them? She replied: A horse. He asked: What is this that it has on it? She replied: Two wings. He asked: A horse with two wings? She replied: Have you not heard that Solomon had horses with wings? She said: Thereupon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed so heartily that I could see his molar teeth.

    Narrated Aisha; Ummul Muminin: Zurarah Ibn Awuf a said that Aisha was asked about the midnight prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said: He used to offer his night prayer in congregation and then return to his family in his house and pray four rakahs. Then he would go to his bed and sleep; but the water for his ablution was placed covered near his head and his tooth-stick was also kept there until Allah awakened him at night. He then used the tooth-stick; performed ablution perfectly then came to the place of prayer and would pray eight rakahs; in which he would recite Surah AlFatihah; and a surah from the Quran as Allah willed. He would not sit during any of them but sit after the eighth rakah; and would not utter the salutation; but recite the Quran during the ninth rakah. Then he would sit and supplicate as long as Allah willed; and beg Him and devote his attention to Him; He would utter the salutation once in such a loud voice that the inmates of the house were almost awakened by his loud salutation. He would then recite Surah AlFatihah while sitting; bow while sitting; and then recite the Quran during the second rakah; and would bow and prostrate while sitting. He would supplicate Allah as long as He willed; then utter the salutation and turn away. This amount of prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ continued till he put a weight. During that period he retrenched two rakahs from nine and began to pray six and seven rakahs standing and two rakahs sitting. This continued till he died.

While he was waiting; a man came forward driving his donkey loaded with food. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Where is the man who was burnt just now ? Thereupon the man stood up. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Give it as sadaqah alms. He asked: Messenger of Allah; to others than us ? By Allah. we are hungry; we have nothing to eat. He said: Eat it yourselves.

    Narrated Aisha; wife of Prophet ﷺ : A man said to Messenger of Allah ﷺ : Messenger of Allah; I was overtaken by dawn while I was sexually defiled; and I want to keep fast. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I am also overtaken by dawn while I am in the state of sexual defilement ; I also want to keep fast. I take a bath and I keep fast. The man said: Messenger of Allah; you are not like us ; Allah has forgiven you your past and future sins. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ became angry and said: I swear by Allah; I hope I shall be the most fearful of you of Allah; and most familiar of you with what I follow.

    Narrated Aisha; wife of Prophet ﷺ : Fatimah daughter of Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a messenger to Abu Bakr demanding from him in inheritance of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from what Allah bestowed on him at Medina and Fadak; and what remained of the fifth of Khaibar. Abu Bakr said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has said: We are not inherited. Whatever we leave is sadaqah. The family of Muhammad will eat from this property. I swear by Allah I shall not change it from the former condition of its being sadaqah as it was in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I shall deal with it as the Messenger of Allah dealt with it. Abu Bakr; therefore; refused to give anything to Fatimah from it.

Abu Dawud said: I am not quite confident about the word anan. He asked: Do you know the distance between Heaven and Earth? They replied: We do not know. He then said: The distance between them is seventy-one; seventy-two; or seventy-three years. The heaven which is above it is at a similar distance going on till he counted seven heavens. Above the seventh heaven there is a sea; the distance between whose surface and bottom is like that between one heaven and the next. Above that there are eight mountain goats the distance between whose hoofs and haunches is like the distance between one heaven and the next. Then Allah; the Blessed and the Exalted; is above that.

    Narrated AlAhnaf Bin Qais: I went to help that man i.e.; Ali ; and on the way I met Abu Bakra who asked me; Where are you going? I replied; I am going to help that man. He said; Go back; for I heard Allah Messenger ﷺ saying; If two Muslims meet each other with their swords then both the killer and the killed one are in the Hell Fire. I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! It is alright for the killer; but what about the killed one? He said; The killed one was eager to kill his opponent.

    Narrated AlAhnaf Bin Qais: While I was going to help this man Ali Ibn Abi Talib ; Abu Bakra met me and asked; Where are you going? I replied; I am going to help that person. He said; Go back for I have heard Allah Messenger ﷺ saying; When two Muslims fight meet each other with their swords; both the murderer as well as the murdered will go to the Hell-fire. I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! It is all right for the murderer but what about the murdered one? Allah Messenger ﷺ replied; He surely had the intention to kill his companion.

    Narrated AlAhnaf Bin Qais: While I was sitting with some people from Quraish; a man with very rough hair; clothes; and appearance came and stood in front of us; greeted us and said; Inform those who hoard wealth; that a stone will be heated in the Hell-fire and will be put on the nipples of their breasts till it comes out from the bones of their shoulders and then put on the bones of their shoulders till it comes through the nipples of their breasts the stone will be moving and hitting. After saying that; the person retreated and sat by the side of the pillar; I followed him and sat beside him; and I did not know who he was. I said to him; I think the people disliked what you had said. He said; These people do not understand anything; although my friend told me. I asked; Who is your friend? He said; The Prophet ﷺ said to me ; O Abu Dhar! Do you see the mountain of Uhud? And on that I Abu Dhar started looking towards the sun to judge how much remained of the day as I thought that Allah Messenger ﷺ wanted to send me to do something for him and I said; Yes! He said; I do not love to have gold equal to the mountain of Uhud unless I spend it all in Allah cause except three Dinars pounds. These people do not understand and collect worldly wealth. No; by Allah; Neither I ask them for worldly benefits nor am I in need of their religious advice till I meet Allah; The Honorable; The Majestic.

He Said: I said: O Abu Huraira! Sometimes I am behind an Imam. He said: O Ibn AlFarisi! Then recite it to yourself. For indeed I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: Allah; the Most High said: I have divided the Prayer between Myself and My slaves into two halves. Half of it is for Me; and half of it for My slave; and My slave shall have what he asks for. My slave stands and says: All praise is due to Allah; the Lord of All that exists. So Allah; Blessed is He and Most High says: My slave has expressed his gratitude to Me. He says: The Merciful; the Beneficent. So he says: My slave has praised Me. He says: Owner of the Day of Reckoning. He says: My slave has glorified Me. And this is for Me; and between Me and My slave is: It is You alone whom we worship and it is You alone from whom we seek aid until the end of the Surah This is for My slave and My slave shall have what he asks for. So he says: Guide us to the straight path. The path of those upon whom You have bestowed your favor; not those with whom is Your wrath; now those who are astray.

He said; Yes; and I heard Sahl Bin Hunaif when he was blamed for lack of zeal for fighting saying; Youd better blame your wrong opinions. I wish you had seen me on the day of Abu Jandal. If I had the courage to disobey the Prophet orders; I would have done so. We had kept out swords on our necks and shoulders; for a thing which frightened us. And we did so; we found it easier for us; except in the case of the above battle of ours.

We have never put our swords on our shoulders to get involved in a situation that might have been horrible for us; but those swords brought us to victory and peace; except this present situation. Abu Wail said; I witnessed the battle of Siffin; and how nasty Siffin was!

    Narrated AlAmash: I heard AlAlHajjaj saying on the pulpit; The Surat in which AlBaqara the cow is mentioned and the Surat in which the family of Imran is mentioned and the Surat in which the women AlNisa is mentioned. I mentioned this to Ibrahim; and he said; Abdulrahman Bin Yazid told me; I was with Ibn Masud; when he did the Rami of the Jamrat AlAqaba. He went down the middle of the valley; and when he came near the tree which was near the Jamra he stood opposite to it and threw seven small pebbles and said: Allahu-Akbar on throwing every pebble. Then he said; By Him; except Whom none has the right to be worshipped; here at this place stood the one on whom Surat AlBaqra was revealed i.e. Allah Messenger ﷺ.

He applied in the negative. Abu Mousa said; What do you say about this verse from Surat AlMaida: When you do not find water then perform Tayammum with clean earth? Abdullah replied; If we allowed it then they would probably perform Tayammum with clean earth even if water were available but cold. I said to Shaqiq; You then disliked to perform Tayammum because of this? Shaqiq said; Yes. Shaqiq added ; Abu Mousa said; Havent you heard the statement of Ammar to Umar? He said: I was sent out by Allah Messenger ﷺ for some job and I became Junub and could not find water so I rolled myself over the dust clean earth like an animal does; and when I told the Prophet ﷺ of that he said; Like this would have been sufficient. The Prophet ﷺ saying so lightly stroked the earth with his hand once and blew it off; then passed his left hand over the back of his right hand or his right hand over the back of his left hand and then passed them over his face. So Abdullah said to Abu Mousa; Dont you know that Umar was not satisfied with Ammar statement? Narrated Shaqiq: While I was with Abdullah and Abu Mousa; the latter said to the former; Havent you heard the statement of Ammar to Umar? He said; Allah Messenger ﷺ sent you and me out and I became Junub and rolled myself in the dust clean earth for Tayammum. When we came to Allah Apostle I told him about it and he said; This would have been sufficient; passing his hands over his face and the backs of his hands once only.
