So once he stood up for prayer and performed a perfect Qiyam standing and reciting from the Holy Quran and then bowed and performed bowing perfectly; then he raised his head and stood straight for a while. She said; The husband of my sister took part in twelve holy battles along with the Prophet ﷺ and my sister was with her husband in six of them. My sister said that they used to nurse the sick and treat the wounded. Once she asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! If a woman has no veil; is there any harm if she does not come out on Id day ? The Prophet ﷺ said; Her companion should let her share her veil with her; and the women should participate in the good deeds and in the religious gatherings of the believers. Hafsa added; When Um-Atiya came; I went to her and asked her; Did you hear anything about so-and-so? Um-Atiya said; Yes; let my father be sacrificed for the Prophet ﷺ. And whenever she mentioned the name of the Prophet ﷺ she always used to say; Let my father be sacrificed for him. He said; Virgin mature girls staying often screened or said; Mature girls and virgins staying often screened-Aiyub is not sure as which was right and menstruating women should come out on the Id day. But the menstruating women should keep away from the Mousalla. And all the women should participate in the good deeds and in the religious gatherings of the believers. Hafsa said; On that I said to Um-Atiya; Also those who are menstruating? Um-Atiya replied; Yes. Do they not present themselves at Arafat and elsewhere?.

A woman came and stayed at the palace of Bani Khalaf and she narrated about her sister whose husband took part in twelve holy battles along with the Prophet ﷺ and her sister was with her husband in six out of these twelve. She the woman sister said; We used to treat the wounded; look after the patients and once I asked the Prophet; Is there any harm for any of us to stay at home if she doesnt have a veil? He said; She should cover herself with the veil of her companion and should participate in the good deeds and in the religious gathering of the Muslims. When Um Atiya came I asked her whether she had heard it from the Prophet. She replied; Yes. May my father be sacrificed for him the Prophet ! Whenever she mentioned the Prophet ﷺ she used to say; May my father be sacrificed for him I have heard the Prophet ﷺ saying; The unmarried young virgins and the mature girl who stay often screened or the young unmarried virgins who often stay screened and the menstruating women should come out and participate in the good deeds as well as the religious gathering of the faithful believers but the menstruating women should keep away from the Mousalla praying place. When he came out; he led the people in prayer and he Bilal informed him that Aisha had kept him engaged in a matter which she asked him till it became fairly light; hence he became late in reaching him in time. He Bilal said: Messenger of Allah; the dawn became fairly bright. He said: If the dawn became brighter than it is now; I would pray them the two rakahs of the sunnah prayer ; offer them well and in a more beautiful manner.

And at that time some Ansari women from the Tribe of Banu Haram were with me. Then the Prophet ﷺ offered those two rakat; and I sent my lady servant to him; saying; Stand beside him and say to him : Umm Salamah says; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Didnt I hear you forbidding the offering of these two rakat after the Asr prayer yet I see you offering them? And if he beckons to you with his hand; then wait behind. So the lady slave did that and the Prophet ﷺ beckoned her with his hand; and she stayed behind; and when the Prophet ﷺ finished his prayer; he said; O the daughter of Abu Umaiya i.e. Umm Salamah ; You were asking me about these two rakat after the Asr prayer. In fact; some people from the tribe of Abdul Qais came to me to embrace Islam and busied me so much that I did not offer the two rakat which were offered after Zuhr compulsory prayer; and these two rakat you have seen me offering make up for those.
