I said to Ubaidullah AlKhaulani; Didnt he i.e. Zaid tell us about the prohibition of pictures? He said; But he excepted the embroidery on garments. Didnt you hear him? I said; No. He said; Yes; he did.

He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Hands are not to be cut off during a warlike expedition. Had it not been so; I would have cut it off.

    Narrated Dawud Bin AlHussain: I used to learn the reading of the Quran from Umm Sad; daughter of AlRabi. She was an orphan in the guardianship of Abu Bakr. I read the Quranic verse To those also to whom your right hand was pledged. She said: Do not read the verse; To those also to whom your right hand was pledged. This was revealed about Abu Bakr and his son Abdulrahman when he refused to accept Islam. Abu Bakr took an oath that he would not give him a share from inheritance. When he embraced Islam Allah Most High commanded His Prophet ﷺ to give him the share.The narrator Abd AlAziz added: He did not accept Islam until he was urged on Islam by sword.Abu Dawud said: He who narrated the word aqadat means a pact ; and he who narrated the word aaqadat means the party who made a pact.     Narrated Dihyah: Mansur AlKalbi said: Dihyah Ibn Khalifah once went out from a village of Damascus at as much distance as it measures between Aqabah and AlFustat during Ramadan; and that is three miles. He then broke his fast and the people broke their fast along with him. But some of them disliked to break their fast. When he came back to his village; he said: I swear by Allah; today I witnessed a thing of which I could not even think to see. The people detested the way of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his Companions. He said this to those who fasted. At this moment he said: O Allah; make me die.

    Narrated Dubaah daughter of AlZubair Ibn AbdulMuttalib: AlMiqdad went to Baqi AlKhabkhabah for a certain need. He found a mouse taking out a dinar from a hole. It then continued to take out dinars one by one until it took out seventeen dinars. It then took out a red purse containing a dinar. There were thus eighteen dinars. He took them to the Prophet ﷺ ; informed him and said to him: Take its sadaqah. The Prophet ﷺ asked him: Did you extend your hand toward the hole? He replied: No. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: May Allah bless you in it.

    Narrated Fadl Bin Abbas: I spent a night with the Prophet ﷺ to see how he prayed. He got up; performed ablution and prayed two rakahs. His standing was like his bowing i.e. equal in duration ; and his bowing was like his prostration equal in length. Then he slept. Afterwards he awoke; performed ablution; and used tooth-stick. He then recited five verses from Surah AlImran : In the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of night and day. He went on doing so till he prayed ten rakahs. He then stood up and prayed one rakah observing witr with it. In the meantime the muadhdhin called to prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up after the muadhdhin had kept silent. He prayed two light rakahs and remained sitting till he offered the dawn prayer.Abu Dawud said: A part of the tradition transmitted by Ibn Bashshar remained hidden from me.

    Narrated Farwah Ibn Mousayk AlGhutayfi: I came to the Prophet ﷺ. He then narrated the rest of the tradition. A man from the people said: Messenger of Allah! tell us about Saba; what is it: land or woman? He replied: It is neither land nor woman; it is a man to whom ten children of the Arabs were born: six of them lived in the Yemen and four lived in Syria. The narrator Uthman said AlGhatafani instead of AlGhutayfi. He said: It has been transmitted to us by AlHasan Ibn AlHakam AlNakhai.

    Narrated Fatima bint AlMundhir: Asma bint Abi Bakr AlSiddiq said; I went to Aisha and the people were offering Prayer. I asked her; What is wrong with the people ? She pointed towards the sky with her head. I asked her; Is there a sign ? Aisha nodded with her head meaning Yes. Asma added; Allah Messenger ﷺ prolonged the Prayer to such an extent that I fainted. There was a waterskin by my side and I opened it and poured some water on my head. When Allah Messenger ﷺ finished Prayer; and the solar eclipse had cleared; the Prophet ﷺ addressed the people and praised Allah as He deserves and said; Amma badu. Asma further said; Some Ansari women started talking; so I turned to them in order to make them quiet. I asked Aisha what the Prophet ﷺ had said. Aisha said: He said; I have seen things at this place of mine which were never shown to me before; I have seen even Paradise and Hell. And; no doubt it has been revealed to me that you people will be put in trial in your graves like or nearly like the trial of Masih AlDajjal. The angels will come to everyone of you and ask him; What do you know about this man Prophet Muhammad ﷺ ? The faithful believer or firm believer Hisham was in doubt which word the Prophet ﷺ used ; will say; He is Allah Messenger ﷺ and he is Muhammad ﷺ who came to us with clear evidences and guidance. So we believed him; accepted his teachings and followed and trusted his teaching. Then the angels will tell him to sleep in peace as they have come to know that he was a believer. But the hypocrite or a doubtful person Hisham is not sure as to which word the Prophet ﷺ used ; will be asked what he knew about this man Prophet Muhammed ﷺ. He will say; I do not know but I heard the people saying something about him so I said the same Hisham added; Fatima told me that she remembered that narration completely by heart except that she said about the hypocrite or a doubtful person that he will be punished severely.

    Narrated Fatima bint AlMundhir: Asma bint AlBakr said; I came to Aisha the wife of the Prophet ﷺ during the solar eclipse. The people were standing and offering the prayer and she was also praying too. I asked her; What has happened to the people? She pointed out with her hand towards the sky and said; Subhan-Allah. I said; Is there a sign? She pointed out in the affirmative. Asma further said; I too then stood up for the prayer till I fainted and then poured water on my head. When Allah Messenger ﷺ had finished his prayer; he thanked and praised Allah and said; I have seen at this place of mine what I have never seen even Paradise and Hell. No doubt; it has been inspired to me that you will be put to trial in the graves like or nearly like the trial of Masih AlDajjal. I do not know which one of the two Asma said. The angels will come to everyone of you and will ask what do you know about this man i.e. Muhammad. The believer or a firm believer I do not know which word Asma said will reply; He is Muhammad; Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ who came to us with clear evidences and guidance; so we accepted his teachings; believed and followed him. The angels will then say to him; Sleep peacefully as we knew surely that you were a firm believer. The hypocrite or doubtful person I do not know which word Asma said will say; I do not know. I heard the people saying something so I said it the same.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: That is only due to a vein: look; when your menstruation comes; do not pray; and when your menstruation ends; wash yourself and then offer prayer during the period from one menstruation to another.

Later on he transmitted it to us from his memory: Muhammad Bin Amr reported to us from AlZuhri from Urwah on the authority of Aisha who said: Fatimah used to have her blood flowing. He then reported the tradition conveying the same meaning.Abu Dawud said: Anas Bin Seereen reported from Ibn Abbas about the woman who has a prolonged flow of blood. He said: If she sees thick blood; she should not pray; if she finds herself purified even for a moment; she should was an pray.Makhul said: Menses are not hidden from women. Their blood is black and thick. When it blackness and thickness goes away and there appears yellowness and liquidness; that is the flow of blood from vein. She should wash and pray.Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been transmitted by Saeed Bin AlMusayab through a different chain of narrators; saying: The woman who has a prolonged flow of blood should abandon prayer when the menstruation begins; when it is finished; she should wash and pray.Sumay and others have also reported it from Saeed Bin AlMusayab. This version adds: She should refrain from prayer during her menstrual period.Hammad Bin Salamah has reported it similarly from Yahya Bin Saeed on the authority of Saeed Bin AlMusayab.Abu Dawud said: Yunus has reported from AlHasan: When the bleeding of a menstruating woman extends beyond the normal period ; she should refrain from prayer ; after her menses are over; for one or two days. Now she becomes the woman who has a prolonged flow of blood AlTaimi reported from Qatadah: If her menstrual period is prolonged by five days; she should pray. AlTaimi said: I kept on reducing the number of days until I reached two days. He said: If the period extends by two days; they will be counted from the menstrual period. When Ibn Seereen was questioned about it; he said: Women have better knowledge of that.

He transmitted it to me from a man who was on of of the islands of the sea. All of a sudden he found a woman who was trailing her hair. He asked: Who are you? She said: I am the Jassasah. Go to that castle. So I came to it and found a man who was trailing his hair; chained in iron collars; and leaping between Heaven and Earth. I asked: Who are you? He replied: I am the Dajjal Antichrist. Has the Prophet of the unlettered people come forth now? I replied: Yes. He said: Have they obeyed him or disobeyed him? I said: No; they have obeyed him. He said: That is better for them.

I separated them and found that its worth was more than twelve dinars. So I mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ who said: It must not be sold till the contents are considered separately.

    Narrated Fudalah Bin Ubaid: We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at the battle of Khaibar. We were selling to the Jews one uqiyah of gold for one dinar. The narrators other than Qutaibah said: for two or three dinars. Then both the versions agreed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Do not sell gold except with equal weight.

The narrator Ibn Asa said: By this I intended trade.Abu Dawud said: The word hijarah stone was recorded in his note-book before; but he changed it and narrated tijarah trade.

    Narrated Fudalah Ibn Ubayd;: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard a person supplicating during prayer. He did not mention the greatness of Allah; nor did he invoke blessings on the Prophet ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He made haste. He then called him and said either to him or to any other person: If any of you prays; he should mention the exaltation of his Lord in the beginning and praise Him; he should then invoke blessings on the Prophet ﷺ ; thereafter he should supplicate Allah for anything he wishes.

    Narrated Fudalah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught me and what he taught me is this: Observe the five prayers regularly. He said: I told him : I have many works at these times; so give me a comprehensive advice which; if I follow; should be enough for me. He said: Observe the two afternoon prayers Alasrayn. But the term Alasrayn two afternoon prayers was not used in our language. Hence I said: What is Alasrayn? He said: A prayer before the sunrise and a prayer before the sunset i.e. the dawn and the afternoon prayers.
