He insulted him twice; but Abu Bakr controlled himself. He insulted him thrice and Abu Bakr took revenge on him. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ got up when Abu Bakr took revenge. Abu Bakr said: Were you angry with me; Messenger of Allah? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied: An angel came down from Heaven and he was rejecting what he had said to you. When you took revenge; a devil came down. I was not going to sit when the devil came down.

I bear witness to the nine people that they will go to Paradise. If I testify to the tenth too; I shall not be sinful. I asked: Who are the nine? He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said when he was on Hira: Be still; Hira; for only a Prophet; or an ever-truthful; or a martyr is on you. I asked: Who are those nine? He said: The Messenger of Allah; Abu Bakr; Umar; Uthman; Ali; Talha h; AlZubayr; Saad Ibn Abu Waqqas and Abdulrahman Ibn Awuf. I asked: Who is the tenth? He paused a moment and said: it is I.Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been transmitted by AlAshjai; from Sufyan; from Mansur; from Hilal Bin Yasaf; from Ibn Hayan on the authority of Abdullah Bin Zalim through his different chain of narrators in a a similar manner.

    Narrated Saeed Ibn Zayd: Abdulrahman Ibn AlAkhnas said that when he was in the Masjid; a man mentioned Ali may Allah be pleased with him. So Saeed Ibn Zayd got up and said: I bear witness to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that I heard him say: Ten persons will go to Paradise: The Prophet ﷺ will go to Paradise; Abu Bakr will go to Paradise; Umar will go to Paradise; Uthman will go to Paradise; Ali will go to Paradise; Talha h will go to Paradise: AlZubair Ibn AlAwam will go to paradise; Saad Ibn Malik will go to Paradise; and Abdulrahman Ibn Awuf will go to Paradise.     Narrated Safiya bint Huyai: The wife of the Prophet ﷺ that she went to Allah Messenger ﷺ while he was in Itikaf staying in the Masjid during the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan. She spoke to him for an hour a while at night and then she got up to return home. The Prophet ﷺ got up to accompany her; and when they reached the gate of the Masjid opposite the dwelling place of Umm Salamah ; the wife of the Prophet; two Ansari men passed by; and greeting Allah Messenger ﷺ ; they quickly went ahead. Allah Messenger ﷺ said to them; Do not be in a hurry She is Safiya; the daughter of Huyai. They said; Subhan Allah! O Allah Messenger ﷺ how dare we suspect you. That was a great thing for both of them. The Prophet ﷺ then said; Satan runs in the body of Adam son i.e. man as his blood circulates in it; and I was afraid that he Satan might insert an evil thought in your hearts.

    Narrated Safiya bint Huyay: While Allah Messenger ﷺ was in Itikaf; I called on him at night and having had a talk with him; I got up to depart. He got up also to accompany me to my dwelling place; which was then in the house of Usama Bin Zaid. Two Ansari men passed by; and when they saw the Prophet ﷺ they hastened away. The Prophet said to them. Dont hurry! It is Safiya; the daughter of Huyay i.e. my wife. They said; Glorified be Allah! O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! How dare we suspect you? He said; Satan circulates in the human mind as blood circulates in it; and I was afraid that Satan might throw an evil thought or something into your hearts.

    Narrated Safiyah bint Huyai: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me and some words had reached me from Hafsah and Aishah. So I mentioned it to him. So he said: Why did you not say: And how are you better than me; while my husband is Muhammad and my father is Harun; and my uncle is Mousa? That which had reached her; was that they had said: We are more honored to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than her; and that they said: We are the wives of the Prophet ﷺ and his cousins.

So they went to the Prophet ﷺ to question him about Allah; the Most High; saying: And indeed we gave Mousa nine clear signs 17:101. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to them: Do not associate anything with Allah; nor commit unlawful intercourse; nor take a life which Allah has made prohibited; except for what is required in the law ; nor steal; nor practice magic; nor hasten to damage the reputation of an innocent person in front of a ruler; so that he will be killed; nor consume Riba; nor falsely accuse the chaste woman; nor turn to flee on the day of the march i.e. flee from war. - Shubah was in doubt - and for you Jews particularly; to not violate the Sabbath. He said: So they kissed his hands and his feet and they said: We bear witness that you are a Prophet. So he said: Then what prevents you from accepting Islam? They said: Because Dawud supplicated to his Lord; that his offspring never be devoid of Prophets; and we feared that if we follow you then the Jews will kill us.

    Narrated Safwan Bin Muhriz AlMazini: While I was walking with Ibn Umar holding his hand; a man came in front of us and asked; What have you heard from Allah Messenger ﷺ about AlNajwa? Ibn Umar said; I heard Allah Messenger ﷺ saying; Allah will bring a believer near Him and shelter him with His Screen and ask him: Did you commit such-and-such sins? He will say: Yes; my Lord. Allah will keep on asking him till he will confess all his sins and will think that he is ruined. Allah will say: I did screen your sins in the world and I forgive them for you today; and then he will be given the book of his good deeds. Regarding infidels and hypocrites their evil acts will be exposed publicly and the witnesses will say: These are the people who lied against their Lord. Behold! The Curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers. 11.18

He said; Everyone of you will come close to His Lord Who will screen him from the people and say to him; Did you do so-and-so? He will reply; Yes. Then Allah will say; Did you do so-and-so? He will reply; Yes. So Allah will question him and make him confess; and then Allah will say; I screened your sins in the world and forgive them for you today.

    Narrated Safwan Bin Muhriz: A man asked Ibn Umar; What did you hear Allah Messenger ﷺ saying regarding AlNajwa secret talk between Allah and His believing worshipper on the Day of Judgment ? He said; The Prophet ﷺ said ; One of you will come close to his Lord till He will shelter him in His screen and say: Did you commit such-and-such sin? He will say; Yes. Then Allah will say: Did you commit such and such sin? He will say; Yes. So Allah will make him confess all his sins and He will say; I screened them your sins for you in the world; and today I forgive them for you.

    Narrated Safwan Bin Muhriz: While Ibn Umar was performing the Tawaf around the Kaba ; a man came up to him and said; O Abu Abdulrahman or said; O Ibn Umar! Did you hear anything from the Prophet ﷺ about An35 Najwa? Ibn Umar said; I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying; The Believer will be brought near his Lord. Hisham; a sub-narrator said; reporting the Prophet words ; The believer will come near his Lord till his Lord covers him with His screen and makes him confess his sins. Allah will ask him ; Do you know that you did such-and-such sin? He will say twice; Yes; I do. Then Allah will say; I concealed it in the world and I forgive it for you today. Then the record of his good deeds will be folded up. As for the others; or the disbelievers; it will be announced publicly before the witnesses: These are ones who lied against their Lord.

    Narrated Safwan Bin Umayah: I was sleeping in the Masjid on a cloak mine whose price was thirty dirhams. A man came and pinched it away from me. The man was seized and brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He ordered that his hand should be cut off. I came to him and said: Do you cut off only for thirty dirhams ? I sell it to him and make the payment of its price a loan ? He said: Why did you not do so before bringing him to me ?Abu Dawud said: Zaidah has also transmitted it from Simak from Juayd Ibn Hujayr. He said: Safwan slept. Mujahid and Tawus said: While he was sleeping a thief came and stole the cloak from beneath his head. The version of Abu Salamah Ibn Abdulrahman has: He snatched it away from beneath his head and he awoke. He cried and he the thief was seized. AlZuhri narrated from Safwan Ibn Abdullah. His version has: He slept in the Masjid and used his cloak as pillow. A thief came and took his cloak. The thief was seized and brought to the Prophet ﷺ.

    Narrated Safwan Bin Yala Bin Umaiya from his father who said: A man came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was at Jirana. The man was wearing a cloak which had traces of Khaluq or Sufra a kind of perfume. The man asked the Prophet ﷺ ; What do you order me to perform in my Umra? So; Allah inspired the Prophet ﷺ divinely and he was screened by a place of cloth. I wished to see the Prophet ﷺ being divinely inspired. Umar said to me; Come! Will you be pleased to look at the Prophet ﷺ while Allah is inspiring him? I replied in the affirmative. Umar lifted one corner of the cloth and I looked at the Prophet ﷺ who was snoring. The sub-narrator thought that he said: The snoring was like that of a camel. When that state was over; the Prophet ﷺ asked; Where is the questioner who asked about Umra? Put off your cloak and wash away the traces of Khaluq from your body and clean the Sufra yellow color and perform in your Umra what you perform in your Hajj i.e. the Tawaf round the Kaba and the Sai between Safa and Marwa.

    Narrated Safwan Bin Yala Bin Umaiya: Yala used to say; I wish I could see Allah Messenger ﷺ at the time he is being inspired Divinely. When the Prophet ﷺ was at AlJarana and was shaded by a garment hanging over him and some of his companions were with him; a man perfumed with scent came and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! What is your opinion regarding a man who assumes Ihram and puts on a cloak after perfuming his body with scent? The Prophet ﷺ waited for a while; and then the Divine Inspiration descended upon him. Umar pointed out to Yala; telling him to come. Yala came and pushed his head underneath the screen which was covering the Prophet ﷺ and behold! The Prophet face was red and he kept on breathing heavily for a while and then he was relieved. Thereupon he said; Where is the questioner who asked me about Umra a while ago? The man was sought and then was brought before the Prophet ﷺ who said to him ; As regards the scent which you perfumed your body with; you must wash it off thrice; and as for your cloak; you must take it off; and then perform in your Umra all those things which you perform in Hajj.

    Narrated Safwan Bin Yala Bin Umaiya: Yala used to say; I wish I could see Allah Messenger ﷺ at the time when he is being inspired divinely. Yala added While the Prophet ﷺ was at AlJarana; shaded with a cloth sheet in the form of a tent and there were staying with him; some of his companions under it; suddenly there came to him a bedouin wearing a cloak and perfumed extravagantly. He said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! What is your opinion regarding a man who assumes the state of Ihram for Umra wearing a cloak after applying perfume to his body? Umar signalled with his hand to Yala to come near. Yala came and put his head underneath that cloth sheet and saw the Prophet ﷺ red-faced and when that state of the Prophet ﷺ was over; he said; Where is he who as already asked me about the Umra? The man was looked for and brought to the Prophet ﷺ The Prophet ﷺ said to him ; As for the perfume you have applied to your body; wash it off your body thrice; and take off your cloak; and then do in your Umra the rites you do in your Hajj.

    Narrated Safwan Bin Yala Bin Umaiya: that his father said; I participated in AlUsra i.e. Tabuk along with the Prophet. Yala added; My participation in that Ghazwa was the best of my deeds to me. Yala said; I had a laborer who quarrelled with somebody; and one of the two bit the hand of the other Ata; the sub-narrator; said; Safwan told me who bit whom but I forgot it ; and the one who was bitten; pulled his hand out of the mouth of the biter; so one of the incisors of the biter was broken. So we came to the Prophet ﷺ and he considered the biter claim as invalid i.e. the biter did not get a recompense for his broken incisor. The Prophet ﷺ said; Should he leave his hand in your mouth so that you might snap it as if it were in the mouth of a male camel to snap it?

    Narrated Safwan Bin Yala: On this father authority; said: A servant of mine fought with a man and bit his hand and he drew away his hand. One of his front teeth fell out. So he came to the Prophet ﷺ who imposed no retaliation for his tooth; saying: Do you intend that he leaves his hand in your mouth so that you crunch it like a male camel ? He said: Ibn Abi Mulaikah told me on the authority of his grandfather that Abu Bakr ra imposed no retaliation on him for it; saying: May his tooth go away!

So he came; and the Allah Messenger ﷺ was shaded with sheet. Yala put his head in and saw that the face of Allah Messenger was red and he was snoring. When the state of the Prophet ﷺ was over; he ﷺ asked; Where is the person who asked about Umra? Then that person was brought and the Prophet ﷺ said; Wash the perfume off your body thrice and take off the cloak and do the same in Umra as you do in Hajj.

They parted and later on Muhaiyisa came upon Abdullah Bin Sah! and found him murdered agitating in his blood. He buried him and returned to Medina. Abdulrahman Bin Sahl; Muhaiyisa and Huwaiuisa; the sons of Masud came to the Prophet ﷺ and Abdulrahman intended to talk; but the Prophet ﷺ said to him ; Let the eldest of you speak. as Abdulrahman was the youngest:. Abdulrahman kept silent and the other two spoke. The Prophet ﷺ said; If you swear as to who has committed the murder; you will have the right to take your right from the murderer. They said; How should we swear if we did not witness the murder or see the murderer? The Prophet ﷺ said; Then the Jews can clear themselves from the charge by taking Alaska an oath taken by men that it was not they who committed the murder. The!y said; How should we believe in the oaths of infidels? So; the Prophet ﷺ himself paid the blood money of Abdullah. See Hadith No. 36 Vol. 9.

    Narrated Sahl Bin Abi Hathma: a man from the Ansar that a number of people from his tribe went to Khaibar and dispersed; and then they found one of them murdered. They said to the people with whom the corpse had been found; You have killed our companion! Those people said; Neither have we killed him; nor do we know his killer. The bereaved group went to the Prophet ﷺ and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! We went to Khaibar and found one of us murdered. The Prophet ﷺ said; Let the older among you come forward and speak. Then the Prophet ﷺ said; to them; Bring your proof against the killer. They said We have no proof. The Prophet ﷺ said; Then they the defendants will take an oath. They said; We do not accept the oaths of the Jews. Allah Messenger ﷺ did not like that the Blood-money of the killed one be lost without compensation; so he paid one-hundred camels out of the camels of Zakat to the relatives of the deceased as Diya Blood-money.

    Narrated Sahl Bin Abi Hathma: describing the Fear prayer : The Imam stands up facing the Qibla and one batch of them i.e. the army out of the two prays along with him and the other batch faces the enemy. The Imam offers one raka with the first batch they themselves stand up alone and offer one bowing and two prostrations while they are still in their place; and then go away to relieve the second batch; and the second batch comes and takes the place of the first batch in the prayer behind the Imam and he offers the second raka with them. So he completes his two-rakat and then the second batch bows and prostrates two prostrations i.e. complete their second raka and thus all complete their prayer.     Narrated Sahl Bin Abi Hathmah AlAnsari: The prayer time of danger should be offered in the following way: The imam should stand for prayer and a section of the people should stand along with him. The other section should stand facing the enemy. The imam should perform bowing and prostrate himself along with those who are with him. He then should stand after prostration and; when he stands straight; he should remain standing. They the people should in the meantime complete their remaining rakah i.e. the second one. They they should utter the salutation; and turn away while the imam should remain standing. They should go before the enemy. Thereafter those who did not pray should come forward and utter the takbir Allah is most great behind imam. He should bow and prostrate along with them and utter the salutation. Then they should stand and completed their remaining rakah; and utter the salutation.Abu Dawud said: The tradition reported by Yahya Bin Saeed from AlQasim is similar to the one transmitted by Yazid Bin Ruman except that he differed with him in salutation. The tradition reported by Ubaid Allah is like the one reported by Yahya Bin Said; saying: He the Prophet remained standing.

    Narrated Sahl Bin Abi Hathmah and Rafi Bin Khadeej: Muhayasah Bin Masud and Abdullah Bin Sahl came to Khaibar and parted from each other among palm trees. Abdullah Bin Sahl was killed. The Jews were blamed for the murder. Abdulrahman Bin Sahl and Huwayasah and Muhayasah; the sons of his uncle Masud came to the Prophet ﷺ. Abdulrahman who was the youngest; spoke about his brother; but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: Respect the elder; respect the elder or he said: Let the eldest begin. They then spoke about their friend and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Fifty of you should take oaths regarding a man from them the Jews and he should be entrusted to him with his rope in his neck. They said: It is a matter which we did not see. How can we take oaths ? He said: The Jews exonerate themselves by the oaths of fifty of them. They said: Messenger of Allah! they are a people who are infidels. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ paid them bloodwit himself. Sahl said: Once I entered the resting place of their camels; and the camel struck me with her lef. Hammad said this or something similar to it.Abu Dawud said: Another version transmitted by Yahya Bin Saeed has: Would you swear fifty oaths and make you claim regarding your friend or your slain man ? Bishr; the transmitter; did mention blood. Abdah transmitted it from Yahya as transmitted by Hammad. Ibn Uyainah has also transmitted it from Yahya; and began with his words: The Jew will exonerate themselves by fifty oaths which they will swear. He did not mention the claim.Abu Dawud said: This is a misunderstanding on the part of Ibn Uyainah.

    Narrated Sahl Bin Abi Hathmah: The Prophet ﷺ prayed in time of danger and divided them the people behind him in two rows. He then led those who were near him in one rakah. Then he stood and remained standing till those who were in second row offered one rakah. Thereafter they came forward and those who were in front of them in the first row stepped backward. The Prophet ﷺ led them in one rakah of prayer. He sat down till those who were in the second row completed on rakah. He then uttered the salutation.

    Narrated Sahl Bin Abu Hathma: Allah Messenger ﷺ forbade the selling of fruits fresh dates for dried dates but allowed the sale of fruits on the Araya by estimation and their new owners might eat their dates fresh. Sufyan in another narration said; I told Yahya a sub-narrator when I was a mere boy; Meccans say that the Prophet ﷺ allowed them the sale of the fruits on Araya by estimation. Yahya asked; How do the Meccans know about it? I replied; They narrated it from the Prophet ﷺ through Jabir. On that; Yahya kept quiet. Sufyan said; I meant that Jabir belonged to Medina. Sufyan was asked whether in Jabir narration there was any prohibition of selling fruits before their benefit is evident i.e. no dangers of being spoilt or blighted. He replied that there was none.

    Narrated Sahl Bin Saad AlSaid: A man passed by Allah Messenger ﷺ and the Prophet ﷺ asked a man sitting beside him; What is your opinion about this passer-by ? He replied; This passer-by is from the noble class of people. By Allah; if he should ask for a lady hand in marriage; he ought to be given her in marriage; and if he intercedes for somebody; his intercession will be accepted. Allah Messenger ﷺ kept quiet; and then another man passed by and Allah Messenger ﷺ asked the same man his companion again; What is your opinion about this second one? He said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! This person is one of the poor Muslims. If he should ask a lady hand in marriage; no-one will accept him; and if he intercedes for somebody; no one will accept his intercession; and if he talks; no-one will listen to his talk. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ said; This poor man is better than such a large number of the first type i.e. rich men as to fill the earth.
