    Awuf Bin Malik said: I prayed Qiyam with the Prophet ﷺ. He started by using the Siwak and performing Ablution; then he stood and prayed. He started reciting AlBaqarah and he did not come to any verse that spoke of mercy but he paused and asked for mercy; and he did not come to any verse that spoke of punishment but he paused and sought refuge with Allah from that. Then he bowed and he stayed bowing for as long as he had stood;a nd he said while bowing: Subhanaka Dhi Aljabaraut Almalakut Alkibriya Alazamah Glory be to the One Who has all power; sovereignty; magnificence and might. Then he prostrated for as long as he had bowed; saying while prostrating: Subhana Dhi Aljabarut Almalakut Alkibriya Alazamah Glory be to the One Who has all power; sovereignty; magnificence and might. Then he recited AlImran; then another surah and another; doing that each time.

    Awuf Bin malik AlAshjaI said I went out with Zaid Bin Harith in the battle of Mutah. For the reinforcement of the Muslim army a man from the people of Yemen accompanied me. He had only his sword with him. A man from the Muslims slaughtered a Camel. The man for the reinforcement asked him for a part of its skin which he gave him. He made it like the shape of a shield. We went on and met the Byzantine armies. There was a man among them on a reddish horse with a golden saddle and golden weapons. This Byzantinian soldiers began to attack the Muslims desperately. The man for reinforcement sat behind a rock for attacking him. He hamstrung his horse and overpowered him and then killed him. He took his horse and weapons. When Allah; Most High; bestowed victory on the Muslims. Khalid Bin AlWalid sent for him and took his spoils. Awuf said I came to him and said Khalid; do you know that the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ had decided to give spoils to the killer? He said Yes; I thought it abundant. I said You should return it to him; or I shall tell you about it before the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ. But he refused to return it. Awuf said We then assembled with the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ. I told him the story of the man of reinforcement and what Khalid had done. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said Khalid; what made you do the work you have done? He said Apostle of Allaah ﷺ ; I considered it to be abundant. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said Khalid; return it to him what you have taken from him. Awuf said I said to him here you are; Khalid. Did I not keep my word? The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said What is that? I then informed him. He said The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ became angry and said Khalid; do not return it to him. Are you going to leave my commanders? You may take from them what is best for you and eave to them what is worst.

His complexion was red having the resemblance of a slave. He said to him: Come and join me in food. He showed reluctance. He Abu Masa said: Come on; for I saw Allah Messenger ﷺ eating it fowl meat ; whereupon that person said: I saw it eating something of filth and rubbish and I found it repugnant and took an oath that I would never eat that. He Abu Muds said: Come; so that I would narrate to you about that the incident pertaining to vow. And he narrated thus : I came to Allah Messenger ﷺ along with a group of people belonging to the tribe of Ashari; asking him to provide us with riding camels. He the Holy Prophet said: By Allah; I cannot provide you with riding animals. And there is nothing with me with which I can provide you a mount. We stayed for some time there as Allah willed; and there was brought to Allah Messenger ﷺ booty of camels. He called us and commanded that we should be given five white humped camels. As we were about to go back; some of us said to the other: As we made Allah Messenger ﷺ forget oath; there would be no blessing for us in his gift. We went back to him and said: Allah Messenger; we came to you to provide us with riding animals and you took an oath that you would never equip us with mounts and then you have provided us with the riding beasts Allah Messenger; have you forgotten? Thereupon he said: I swear by Allah that if Allah so wills; I shall not swear an oath; and then consider something else to be better than it without making atonement for my oath and doing the thing that is better. So you go; Allah; the Exalted and Glorious; has given you riding animals.

He confined them for some days and then set them free. They came to AlNuman and said: You have set them free without beating and investigation. AlNuman said: What do you want? You want me to beat them. If your goods are found with them; then it is all right; otherwise; I shall take retaliation from your back as I have taken from their backs. They asked: Is this your decision? He said: This is the decision of Allah and His Apostle ﷺ.Abu Dawud said: By this statement he frightened them ; that is; beating is not necessary except after acknowledgement.

No differentiation is to be made between camels when calculating them. Whoever gives it seeking reward will be rewarded for it. Whoever refuses; we will take it and half of his camels; as one of the rights of our Lord. And it is not permissible for the family of Muhammad to have any of them.

I am a man who does not know anything except that which Allah and His Messenger teach me. I ask you by the face of Allah; the Mighty and Sublime; with what has your Lord sent you to us? He said: With Islam. I said: What are the signs of Islam? He said; To say: I submit my face to Allah and give up Shirk; and; to establish the Salah and to pay Zakah. Each Muslim is sacred and inviolable to his fellow Muslim; they support one another. Allah does not accept my deed from an idolater after he becomes a Muslim; until he departs from the idolaters and joins the Muslims.

    Bahz b Hakim reported from his grandfather: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: For forty pasturing camels; one camel in her third year is to be given. The camels are not to be separated from reckoning. He who pays zakat with the intention of getting reward will be rewarded. If anyone evades zakat; we shall take half the property from him as a due from the dues of our Lord; the Exalted. There is no share in it zakat of the descendants of Muhammad ﷺ.

Is it due to your poverty or due to your close-fistedness? Thereupon Ibn Abbas said: Allah be praised; it is neither due to poverty nor due to close-fistedness but due to the fact that Allah Apostle ﷺ came here riding his came; and there was sitting behind him Usama. He asked for water; and we gave him a cup full of nabidh and he drank it; and gave the remaining part to Usama; and he the Holy Prophet said: You have done Food; You have done well. So continue doing like it So we do not like to change what Allah Messenger ﷺ had commanded us to do.

    Bakr Bin Abdullah reported: Anas Allah be pleased with him had narrated to us that he saw Allah Apostle ﷺ combining Hajj and Umra. He Bakr said: I asked about it from Ibn Umar; whereupon he said: We entered into the state of Ihram for Hajj only. I came to Anas and told him what Ibn Umar had said; whereupon he remarked: You are treating us as if we were children.

    Bakr Bin Abdullah said A man said to Ibn Abbas What about the people of this House? They supply Nabidh to the public while their cousins provide milk; honey and mush sawiq. Is this due to their niggardliness or need? Ibn Abbas replied This is due neither to our niggardliness nor to our need; but the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ once entered upon us on his riding beast and Usamah Bin Zaid was sitting behind him. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ called for drink. Nabidh was brought to him and he drank from it and gave its left over to Usamah Bin Zaid who drank from it. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ then said You have done a good and handsome deed and do it in a similar way. It is due to this we are doing so; we do not want to change what the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ had said.
