SahihAlBukhari-017-001-415		AlHasan Bin Muslim told me thatIbn Abbas had said; I joined the Prophet; Abu Bakr; Umar and Uthman in the Eid AlFitr prayers. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5923		Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ said; A man said that he would give something in charity. He went out with his object of charity and unknowingly gave it to a thief. Next morning the people said that he had given his object of charity to a thief. On hearing that he said; O Allah! All the praises are for you. I will give alms again. And so he again went out with his alms and unknowingly gave it to an adulteress. Next morning the people said that he had given his alms to an adulteress last night. The man said; O Allah! All the praises are for you. I gave my alms to an adulteress. I will give alms again. So he went out with his alms again and unknowingly gave it to a rich person. The people next morning said that he had given his alms to a wealthy person. He said; O Allah! All the praises are for you. I had given alms to a thief; to an adulteress and to a wealthy man. Then someone came and said to him; The alms which you gave to the thief; might make him abstain from stealing; and that given to the adulteress might make her abstain from illegal sexual intercourse adultery ; and that given to the wealthy man might make him take a lesson from it and spend his wealth which Allah has given him; in Allah cause. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5963		Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: On Eid AlFitr or Id ul Adha Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ went out to the Mousalla. After finishing the prayer; he delivered the sermon and ordered the people to give alms. He said; O people! Give alms. Then he went towards the women and said. O women! Give alms; for I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-Fire were you women. The women asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! What is the reason for it? He replied; O women! You curse frequently; and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you. O women; some of you can lead a cautious wise man astray. Then he left. And when he reached his house; Zainab; the wife of Ibn Masud; came and asked permission to enter It was said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! It is Zainab. He asked; Which Zainab? The reply was that she was the wife of Ibn Masub. He said; Yes; allow her to enter. And she was admitted. Then she said; O Prophet of Allah! Today you ordered people to give alms and I had an ornament and intended to give it as alms; but Ibn Masud said that he and his children deserved it more than anybody else. The Prophet ﷺ replied; Ibn Masud had spoken the truth. Your husband and your children had more right to it than anybody else. My ailment has reached such a bad state as you see; and I have much wealth; but I have no-one to inherit from me except my only daughter. Shall I give 2/3 of my property as alms in charity ? The Prophet ﷺ said; No; I said; Shall I give half of my property as alms? He said; No. I said; Shall I give 1/3 of it? He replied; 1/3; and even 1/3 is too much. It is better for you to leave your inheritors wealthy rather than to leave them poor; begging people for their sustenance ; and whatever you spend for Allah Sake; you will get reward for it even for the morsel of food which you put in your wives mouth. I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Should I remain in Mecca behind my companions who are going with you to Medina ? The Prophet ﷺ said; If you remain behind; any good deed which you will do for Allah Sake; will upgrade and elevate you. May be you will live longer so that some people may benefit by you and some other i.e. infidels may get harmed by you. The Prophet ﷺ then added; O Allah! Complete the Migration of my companions and do not turn them on their heels. But the poor Saad Bin Khaula not the above mentioned Sad died in Mecca. So he brought it clearly written to me. It says : AlAbbas and Ali entered upon Umar when Talha h; AlZubayr; Abdulrahman and Saad were with him. They Abbas and Ali were disputing. Umar said to Talha h; AlZubayr; Abdulrahman and Sad: Do you not know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: All the property of the Prophet ﷺ is sadaqah alms ; except what he provided for his family for their sustenance and their clothing. We are not to be inherited. They said: Yes; indeed. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to spend from his property on his family; and give the residue as sadaqah alms. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then died; and Abu Bakr ruled for two years. He would deal with it in the same manner as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did. The Prophet ﷺ asked him what happened to him. He said: I had sexual intercourse with my wife. He said: Give sadaqah alms. He said: I swear by Allah; I possess nothing with me; and I cannot do this. He said: Sit down. He sat down. While he was waiting; a man came forward driving his donkey loaded with food. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Where is the man who was burnt just now ? Thereupon the man stood up. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Give it as sadaqah alms. He asked: Messenger of Allah; to others than us ? By Allah. we are hungry; we have nothing to eat. He said: Eat it yourselves. He took a vow to Allah that if he overpowers him; he will cut off his head. He then sent me to Samurah Ibn Jundub to ask him about this question for him. I came to Samurah Ibn Jundub and asked him. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to exhort us to give alms sadaqah and forbid us to mutilate a slain. I then came to Imran Ibn Husayn and asked him. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to exhort us to give alms sadaqah and forbid us to mutilate a slain.
