When death approaches any of you, (take) witnesses among yourselves when making bequests, - two just men of your own (brotherhood) or others from outside if ye are journeying through the earth, and the chance of death befalls you (thus). If ye doubt (their truth), detain them both after prayer, and let them both swear by Allah: "We wish not in this for any worldly gain, even though the (beneficiary) be our near relation: we shall hide not the evidence before Allah: if we do, then behold! the sin be upon us!"

And regarding the verse And those with whom your right hands have made a pledge. Ibn Abbas said; When the emigrants came to the Prophet ﷺ in Medina; the emigrant would inherit the Ansari while the latter relatives would not inherit him because of the bond of brotherhood which the Prophet established between them i.e. the emigrants and the Ansar. When the verse: And to everyone We have appointed heirs 4.33 was revealed; it canceled the bond the pledge of brotherhood regarding inheritance. Then he said; The verse: To those also to whom your right hands have pledged; remained valid regarding cooperation and mutual advice; while the matter of inheritance was excluded and it became permissible to assign something in one testament to the person who had the right of inheriting before. When the Emigrants came to Medina; an Emigrant used to be the heir of an Ansari with the exclusion of the latter relatives; and that was because of the bond of brotherhood which the Prophet ﷺ had established between them i.e. the Emigrants and the Ansar. So when the Verses:- To everyone We have appointed heirs. was revealed; the inheritance through bond of brotherhood was cancelled. Ibn Abbas then said: And those to whom your right hands have pledged. is concerned with the covenant of helping and advising each other. So allies are no longer to be the heir of each other; but they can bequeath each other some of their property by means of a will. SunanAlNasai-017-001-14593		It was narrated from Humaid AlTawil that he heard Anas say: The Messenger of Allah established the bond of brotherhood between some of the Quraish and some of the Ansar; and he established the bond of brotherhood between Saad Bin AlRabi and Abdulrahman Bin Awuf. Saad said to him: I have wealth; which I will share equally between you and me. And I have two wives; so look and see which one you like better; and I will divorce her; and when her Iddah is over you can marry her. He said: May Allah bless your family and your wealth for you. Show me -i.e.; where the market is. And he did not come back until he brought some ghee; and cottage cheese that he had left over. He said: The Messenger of Allah saw traces of yellow perfume on me and he said: What is this for? I said: I have married a woman from among the Ansar.
