SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3729 | Narrated Abdullah Bin Umar: I never heard Umar saying about something that he thought it would be so-and-so; but he was quite right. Once; while Umar was sitting; a handsome man passed by him; Umar said; If I am not wrong; this person is still on his religion of the pre-lslamic period of ignorance or he was their foreteller. Call the man to me. When the man was called to him; he told him of his thought. The man said; I have never seen such a day on which a Muslim is faced with such an accusation. Umar said; I am determined that you should tell me the truth. He said; I was a foreteller in the pre-lslamic period of ignorance. Then Umar said; Tell me the most astonishing thing your female Jinn has told you of. He said; One-day while I was in the market; she came to me scared and said; Havent you seen the Jinns and their despair and they were overthrown after their defeat and prevented from listening to the news of the heaven so that they stopped going to the sky and kept following camel-riders i.e. Arabs ? Umar said; He is right. and added; One day while I was near their idols; there came a man with a calf and slaughtered it as a sacrifice for the idols. An unseen creature shouted at him; and I have never heard harsher than his voice. He was crying; O you bold evil-doer! A matter of success! An eloquent man is saying: None has the right to be worshipped except you O Allah. On that the people fled; but I said; I shall not go away till I know what is behind this. Then the cry came again: O you bold evil-doer! A matter of success! An eloquent man is saying: None has the right to be worshipped except Allah. I then went away and a few days later it was said; A prophet has appeared. | The Chapter on Recitations And Poetry And Satan in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The conversion Umar to Islam in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5738 | Narrated Ibn Abbas: When Allah Messenger ﷺ came to Mecca; he refused to enter the Kaba with idols in it. He ordered idols to be taken out. So they were taken out. The people took out the pictures of Abraham and Ishmael holding Azlams in their hands. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; May Allah curse these people. By Allah; both Abraham and Ishmael never did the game of chance with Azlams. Then he entered the Kaba and said Takbir at its corners but did not offer the prayer in it. | The Chapter on Allah And Prophets And Makkah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Saying Takbir inside the Kabah in Sahih AlBukhari

Abu Huraira said: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; I saw Amr Bin Amir AlKhuzai in a dream dragging his intestines in the Fire; and he was the first person to establish the tradition of setting free the animals for the sake of their deities ; Wasila is the camel which gives birth to a camel as its first delivery; and then gives birth to another camel as its second delivery. People in the Pre-lslamic periods of ignorance used to let that she camel loose for their idols if it gave birth to two camels successively without giving birth to a male camel in between. Ham was the male camel which was used for copulation. When it had finished the number of copulations assigned for it; they would let it loose for their idols and excuse it from burdens so that nothing would be carried on it; and they called it the Hami. Abu Huraira said; I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying so. | The Chapter on Live Stock And Charity in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari

Sufyan said: The idol Manat was at AlMushailal in Qudaid. Aisha added; The Verse was revealed in connection with the Ansar. They and the tribe of Ghassan used to assume lhram in the name of Manat before they embraced Islam. Aisha added; There were men from the Ansar who used to assume lhram in the name of Manat which was an idol between Mecca and Medina. They said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The names of the idols formerly belonged to some pious men of the people of Noah; and when they died Satan inspired their people to prepare and place idols at the places where they used to sit; and to call those idols by their names. The people did so; but the idols were not worshipped till those people who initiated them had died and the origin of the idols had become obscure; whereupon people began worshipping them. | The Chapter on Worshiping Idols And Partners in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihMuslim-017-001-20768 | Abdullah Bin Samit reported that Abu Dharr said: We set out from our tribe Ghafir who look upon the prohibited months as permissible months. I and my brother Unais and our mother stayed with our maternal uncle who treated us well. The men of his tribe fell jealous and they said: When you are anay from your house; Unais commits adultery with your wife. Our -naternal uncle came and he accused us of the sin which was conveyed to him. I said: You have undone the good you did to us. We cannot stay with you after this. We came to our camels and loaded our luggage. Our maternal uncle began to weep covering himself with a piece of cloth. We proceeded on until we encamped by the side of Mecca. Unais cast lot on the camels we had and an equal number above that. They both went to a Kahin and he made Unais win and Unais came with our camels and an equal number along with them. He Abu Dharr said: My nephew; I used to observe prayer three years before my meeting with Allah Messenger ﷺ. I said: For whom did you say prayer? He said: For Allah. I said: To which direction did you turn your face for observing prayer ? He said: I used to turn my face as Allah has directed me to turn my face. I used to observe the night prayer at the time of the end of night and I fell down in prostration like the mantle until the sun rose over me. Unais said: I have a work in Mecca; so you better stay here. Unais went until he came to Mecca and he came to me late. I said: What did you do? He said: I met a person in Mecca who is on your religion and he claims that verily it is Allah Who has sent him. I said: What do the people say about him? He said: They say that he is a poet or a Kahin or a magician. Unais who was himself one of the poets said. I have heard the words of a Kahin but his words in no way resemble his words. And 1 also compared his words to the verses of poets but such words cannot be uttered by any poet. By Allah; he is truthful and they are liars. Then I said: you stay here; until I go; so that I should see him. He said: I came to Mecca and I selected an insignificant person from amongst them and said to him: Where is he whom you call AlSabi? He pointed out towards me saying: He is Sabi. Thereupon the people of the valley attacked me with sods and bows until I fell down unconscious. I stood up after havin. regained my consciousness and I found as if I was a red idol. I came to Zamzarn and washed blood from me and drank water from it and listen; O son of my brother; I stayed there for thirty nights or days and there was no food for me but the water of Zamzarn. And I became so bulky that there appeared wrinkles upon my stomach; and I did not feel any hunger in my stomach. It was during this time that the people of Mecca slept in the moonlit night and none was there to eircumambulate the House but only two women who had been invoking the name of Isafa; and Naila the two idols. They came to me while in their circuit and I said: Marry one with the other; but they did not dissuade from their invoking. They came to me and I said to them: Insert wood in the idols private parts. I said this to them in such plain words as I could not express in metaphorical terms. These women went away crying and saying: Had there been one amongst our people he would have taught a lesson to you for the obscene words used for our idols before us. These women met Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr who had also been coming down the hill. He asked them: What has happened to you? They said: There is Sabi; who has hidden himself between the Kaba and its curtain. He said: What did he say to you? They said: He uttered such words before us as we cannot express. Allah Messenger ﷺ came and he kissed the Black Stone and circumambulated the House along with his Companion and then observed prayer; and when he had finished his prayer; Abu Dharr said: I was the first to greet him with the salutation of peace and uttered these words in this way; Allah Messen- ger; may there be peace upon you; whereupon he said: It may be upon you too and the mercy of Allah. He then said: Who are you? I said: From the tribe of Ghifar. He leaned his hand and placed his finger on his forehead and I said to myself: Perhaps he has not liked it that I belong to the tribe of Ghifar. I attempted to catch hold of his hand but his friend who knew about him more than I dissuaded me f rom doing so. He then lifted his head and said: Since how long have you been here? I said: I have been here for the last thirty nights or days. He said: Who has been feeding you? I said: There has been no food for me but the water of Zamzam. I have grown so bulky that there appear wrinkles upon my stomach and I do not feel any hunger. He said: It is blessed water and it also serves as food. Thereupon Abu Bakr said: Allah Messenger; let me serve as a host to him for tonight; and then Allah Messenger ﷺ proceeded forth and so did Abu Bakr and I went along with them. Abu Bakr opened the door and then he brought for us the raisins of Taif and that was the first food which I ate there. Then I stayed as long as I had to stay. I then came to Allah Messenaer ﷺ and he said: I have been shown the land abound- ing in trees and I think it cannot be but that of Yathrib that is the old name of Medina. You are a preacher to your people on my behalf. I hope Allah would benefit them through you and He would reward you. I came to Unais and he said: What have you done? I said: I have done that I have embraced Islam and I have testified to the prophethood of Allah Messenger. He said: I have no aversion for your religion and I also embrace Islam and testify to the prophethood of Muhammad. Then both of us came to our mother and she said: I have no aversion for your religion and I also embrace Islam and testify to the prophethood of Muhammad. We then loaded our camels and came to our tribe Ghifir and half of the tribe embraced Islam and their chief was Aimi Bin Rahada Ghifirl and he was their leader and hall of the tribe said: We will embrace Islam when Allah Messenger may p;. ace be upon him would come to Medina; and when Allah Messenger ﷺ came to Medina the remaining half also embraced Islam. Then a tribe Aslam came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: Allah Messenger; we also embrace Islam like our brothers who have embraced Islam. And they also embraced Islam. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Allah granted pardon to the tribe of Ghifar and Allah saved from destruction the tribe of Aslam. | The Chapter on Pre-Islam And Makkah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 28 in Sahih Muslim |

SunanAlNasai-017-001-11364 | Abdullah Bin Masud said: We were fighting a battle and the idolators kept us from praying Zuhr; Asr; Maghrib and Isha. When the idolators went away; the Messenger of Allah commanded a caller to say Iqamah for Zuhr prayer; and we prayed. Then he said the Iqamah for Asr; and we prayed; and he said the Iqamah for Maghrib and we prayed; and he said the Iqamah for Isha and we prayed. SunanAlNasai-017-001-11563 | It was narrated that Anas Bin Malik said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to AlMadinah; he alighted in the upper part of AlMadinah among the tribe called Banu Amr Bin Awuf and he stayed with them for fourteen nights. Then he sent for the chiefs of Banu AlNajjar; and they came with their swords by their sides. It is as if I can see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on his camel with Abu Bakr riding behind him on the same camel and the chiefs of Banu AlNajjar around him; until he dismounted in the courtyard of Abu Ayoub. The Prophet ﷺ used to offer the prayer wherever he was when the time for prayer came; and he would pray even in sheepfolds. Then he ordered that the Masjid be built. He sent for the chiefs of Banu AlNajjar; and when they came; he said: O Banu AlNajjar; name me a price for this grove of yours. They said: By Allah; we will not ask for its price except from Allah. Anas said: In that grove there were graves of idolators; ruins and date-palm trees. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that the graves of the idolators be dug up; the ruins be leveled and the date-palm trees be cut down. The trunks of the trees were arranged so as to form the walls facing the Qiblah. The stone pillars were built at the sides of its gate. They started to move the stones; reciting some lines of verse; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was with them when they were saying: O Allah! There is no good except the good of the Hereafter. He said: Who will face the people? Talha h said: I will. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Stay where you are. One of the Ansar said: I will; O Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: You go ahead. So he fought until he was killed. Then he turned and saw the idolators. He said: Who will face the people? Talha h said: I will. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Stay where you are. One of the Ansar said: I will; O Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: You go ahead. So he fought until he was killed. This carried on; and each man of the Ansar went out to face them and fought like the one before him; and was killed; until only the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Talha h Bin Ubaidullah were left. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Who will face the people? Talha h said: I will. So Talha h fought like the eleven before him; until his hand was struck; and his fingers were cut off; and he exclaimed in pain. SunanAlNasai-017-001-16737 | It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said: Concerning the saying of Allah; the Mighty and Sublime: And offer your salah prayer neither aloud nor in a low voice- It was revealed when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was still preaching in secret in Makkah. When he led his companions in prayer; he would raise his voice - One of the narrators Ibn Mani said: He would recite the Quran out loud- And when the idolators heard his voice they would insult the Quran; and the One Who revealed it; and the one who brought it. MuwataMalik-017-001-35426 | Yahya related to me from Malik that it reached him that a slave of Abdullah Ibn Umar escaped and one of his horses wandered off; and the idol worshippers seized them. Then the Muslims recaptured them; and they were returned to Abdullah Ibn Umar; before the division of the spoils took place. I heard Malik say about muslim property that had been seized by the enemy; If it is noticed before the distribution; then it is returned to itsowner. Whatever has already been distributed is not returned to anyone. Malik; when asked about a man whose young male slave was taken by the idol worshippers and then the Muslims re-captured him; said; The owner is more entitled to him without having to pay his price or value or having to incur any loss before the distribution takes place. If the distribution has already taken place then I think that the slave belongs to his master for his price if the master wants him back. Regarding an umm walad of a Muslim man who has been taken by the idol worshippers and then recaptured by the Muslims and allotted in the distribution of spoils and then recognised by her master after the distribution; Malik said; She is not to be enslaved. I think that the Imam should pay a ransom for her for her master. If he does not do it; then her master must pay a ransom for her and not leave her. I do not think that she should be made a slave by whoever takes her and intercourse with her is not halal. She is in the position of a free woman because her master would be required to pay compensation if she injured somebody and so she is in the same position as a wife. He must not leave the mother of his son to be enslaved nor may intercourse with her be made halal. Malik was asked about a man who went to enemy territory to pay ransom or to trade; and he bought a free man or a slave; or they were given to him. He said; As for the free man; the price he buys him for is a debt against the man and he is not made a slave. If the captive is given to him freely; he is free and owes nothing unless the man gave something in recompense for him. That is a debt against the free man; the same as if a ransom had been paid for him. As for a slave; his former master can choose to take him back and pay his price to the man who bought him or he can choose to leave him; as he wishes. If he was given to the man; the former master is more entitled to him; and he owes nothing for him unless the man gave something for him in recompense.
