If ye are ill, or on a journey, or one of you cometh from offices of nature, or ye have been in contact with women, and ye find no water, then take for yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands. If ye are in a state of ceremonial impurity, bathe your whole body. But if ye are ill, or on a journey, or one of you cometh from offices of nature, or ye have been in contact with women, and ye find no water, then take for yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands, Allah doth not wish to place you in a difficulty, but to make you clean, and to complete his favour to you, that ye may be grateful.

So it is those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him, - it is they who will prosper."

So there ware revealed: Then what is the matter with you that you are divided into two parties about the hypocrites? 4.88. Then the Prophet ﷺ said It i.e. Medina is aTayaboh good ; it expels impurities as the fire expels the impurities of silver. By Him in Whose Hand is my life; none amongst them would go out of the city with a dislike for it; but Allah would make his successor in it someone better than be. Behold. Medina is like furnace which eliminates from it the impurities. And the Last Hour will not come until Medina banishes its evils just as a furnace eliminates the impurities of iron. MuwataMalik-017-001-36088		Yahya related to me from Malik from Ishaq Ibn Abdullah Ibn Abi Talha from Humayda bint Abi Ubayda Ibn Farwa that her maternal aunt Kabsha bint Kaab Ibn Malik; who was the wife of the son of Abu Qatada AlAnsari; told her that once Abu Qatada was visiting her and she poured out some water for him to do Ablution with. Just then a cat came to drink from it; so he tilted the vessel towards it to let it drink. Kabsha continued; He saw me looking at him and said; Are you surprised; daughter of my brother? I said; Yes. He replied that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; cats are not impure. They intermingle with you. Yahya said that Malik said; There is no harm in that unless one sees impurities on the cat mouth.
