SahihAlBukhari-017-001-092 | Narrated Yahya Bin Ishaq: I heard Anas saying; We traveled with the Prophet ﷺ from Medina to Mecca and offered two rakat for every prayer till we returned to Medina. I said; Did you stay for a while in Mecca? He replied; We stayed in Mecca for ten days. | The Chapter on Makkah And Almadinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on For what period of stay one should offer shortened prayers in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1220 | Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: We were in the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ and we assumed the state of Ihram of Hajj and arrived at Mecca on the fourth of Dhu AlHijja. The Prophet ﷺ ordered us to perform the Tawaf around the Kaba and Sai between AlSafa and AlMarwa and use our lhram just for Umra; and finish the state of Ihram unless we had our Hadi with us. None of us had the Hadi with him except the Prophet ﷺ and Talha. Ali came from Yemen and brought the Hadi with him. Ali said; I had assumed the state of Ihram with the same intention as that with which Allah Messenger ﷺ had assumed it. The people said; How can we proceed to Mina and our male organs are dribbling? Allah Messenger ﷺ said; If I had formerly known what I came to know latterly; I would not have brought the Hadi; and had there been no Hadi with me; I would have finished my Ihram. Suraqa bin Malik met the Prophet ﷺ while he was throwing pebbles at the Jamrat AlAqaba; and asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Is this permitted for us only? The Prophet ﷺ replied. No; it is forever Aisha had arrived at Mecca while she was menstruating; therefore the Prophet ﷺ ordered her to perform all the ceremonies of Hajj except the Tawaf around the Kaba; and not to perform her prayers unless and until she became clean. When they encamped at AlBatha; Aisha said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! You are proceeding after performing both Hajj and Umra while I am proceeding with Hajj only? So the Prophet ﷺ ordered Abdulrahman Bin Abu Bakr AlSiddiq to go with her to AlTanim; and so she performed the Umra in Dhu AlHijja after the days of the Hajj. | The Chapter on Menustration In Alhajj in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on If I had formerly known what I came to know recently in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1378 | Narrated Abu AlMinhal: When Ibn Ziyad and Marwan were in Sham and Ibn AlZubair took over the authority in Mecca and Qurra the Kharijites revolted in Basra; I went out with my father to Abu Barza AlAslami till we entered upon him in his house while he was sitting in the shade of a room built of cane. So we sat with him and my father started talking to him saying; O Abu Barza! Dont you see in what dilemma the people has fallen? The first thing heard him saying I seek reward from Allah for myself because of being angry and scornful at the Quraish tribe. O you Arabs! You know very well that you were in misery and were few in number and misguided; and that Allah has brought you out of all that with Islam and with Muhammad till He brought you to this state of prosperity and happiness which you see now; and it is this worldly wealth and pleasures which has caused mischief to appear among you. The one who is in Sham i.e.; Marwan ; by Allah; is not fighting except for the sake of worldly gain: and those who are among you; by Allah; are not fighting except for the sake of worldly gain; and that one who is in Mecca i.e.; Ibn AlZubair by Allah; is not fighting except for the sake of worldly gain. | The Chapter on Love And Emotions And Faith in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Changing the words in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1496 | Narrated Ata: I heard Jabir Bin Abdullah in a gathering saying; We; the companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ assumed the state of Ihram to perform only Hajj without Umra. Jabir added; The Prophet ﷺ arrived at Mecca on the fourth of Dhu AlHijja. And when we arrived in Mecca the Prophet ﷺ ordered us to finish the state of Ihram; saying; Finish your lhram and go to your wives for sexual relation. Jabir added; The Prophet did not oblige us to go to our wives but he only made that legal for us. Then he heard that we were saying; When there remains only five days between us and the Day of Arafat he orders us to finish our Ihram by sleeping with our wives in which case we will proceed to Arafat with our male organs dribbling with semen? Jabir pointed out with his hand illustrating what he was saying. Allah Messenger ﷺ stood up and said; You People know that I am the most Allah-fearing; the most truthful and the best doer of good deeds pious from among you. If I had not brought the Hadi with me; I would have finished my Ihram as you will do; so finish your Ihram. If I had formerly known what I came to know lately; I would not have brought the Hadi with me. So we finished our Ihram and listened to the Prophet ﷺ and obeyed him. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1535 | Narrated: Abu Abdulrahman and Hibban Bin Atiya had a dispute. Abu Abdulrahman said to Hibban; You know what made your companions i.e. Ali dare to shed blood. Hibban said; Come on! What is that? Abdulrahman said; Something I heard him saying. The other said; What was it? Abdulrahman said; Ali said; Allah Messenger ﷺ sent for me; AlZubair and Abu Marthad; and all of us were cavalry men; and said; Proceed to Raudat-Hajj Abu Salama said that Abu Awana called it like this; i.e.; Hajj where there is a woman carrying a letter from Hatib Bin Abi Baltaa to the pagans of Mecca. So bring that letter to me. So we proceeded riding on our horses till we overtook her at the same place of which Allah Messenger ﷺ had told us. She was traveling on her camel. In that letter Hatib had written to the Meccans about the proposed attached of Allah Messenger ﷺ against them. We asked her; Where is the letter which is with you? She replied; I havent got any letter. So we made her camel kneel down and searched her luggage; but we did not find anything. My two companions said; We do not think that she has got a letter. I said; We know that Allah Messenger ﷺ has not told a lie. Then Ali took an oath saying; By Him by Whom one should swear! You shall either bring out the letter or we shall strip off your clothes. She then stretched out her hand for her girdle round her waist and brought out the paper letter. They took the letter to Allah Messenger ﷺ. Umar said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Hatib has betrayed Allah; His Apostle and the believers; let me chop off his neck! Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Hatib! What obliged you to do what you have done? Hatib replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Why for what reason should I not believe in Allah and His Apostle? But I intended to do the Mecca people a favor by virtue of which my family and property may be protected as there is none of your companions but has some of his people relatives whom Allah urges to protect his family and property. The Prophet ﷺ said; He has said the truth; therefore; do not say anything to him except good. Umar again said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He has betrayed Allah; His Apostle and the believers; let me chop his neck off! The Prophet ﷺ said; Isnt he from those who fought the battle of Badr? And what do you know; Allah might have looked at them Badr warriors and said to them ; Do what you like; for I have granted you Paradise? On that; Umar eyes became flooded with tears and he said; Allah and His Apostle know best. | The Chapter on Military Expedition And Makkah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on AlMutaawalin in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1667 | Narrated Abu Mousa: The Prophet ﷺ said; I saw in a dream that I was migrating from Mecca to a land where there were date palm trees. I thought that it might be the land of AlYamama or Hajar; but behold; it turned out to be Yathrib i.e. Medina. And I saw cows being slaughtered there; but the reward given by Allah is better than worldly benefits. Behold; those cows proved to symbolize the believers who were killed on the Day of the battle of Uhud; and the good which I saw in the dream was the good and the reward and the truth which Allah bestowed upon us after the Badr battle. or the Battle of Uhud and that was the victory bestowed by Allah in the Battle of Khaibar and the conquest of Mecca. | The Chapter on Changing The Qiblah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on If one sees in a dream cows being slaughtered in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1744 | Narrated Abu Huraira: In the year of the Conquest of Mecca; the tribe of Khuzaa killed a man from the tribe of Bam Laith in revenge for a killed person belonging to them in the Pre-lslamic Period of Ignorance. So Allah Apostle got up saying; Allah held back the army having elephants from Mecca; but He let His Apostle and the believers overpower the infidels of Mecca. Beware! Mecca is a sanctuary ! Verily! Fighting in Mecca was not permitted for anybody before me; nor will it be permitted for anybody after me; It was permitted for me only for a while an hour or so of that day. No doubt! It is at this moment a sanctuary; its thorny shrubs should not be uprooted; its trees should not be cut down; and its Luqata fallen things should not be picked up except by the one who would look for its owner. And if somebody is killed; his closest relative has the right to choose one of two things; i.e.; either the Blood money or retaliation by having the killer killed. Then a man from Yemen; called Abu Shah; stood up and said; Write that for me; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Allah Messenger ﷺ said to his companions ; Write that for Abu Shah. Then another man from Quraish got up; saying; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Except AlIdhkhir a special kind of grass as we use it in our houses and for graves. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Except Alidhkkir. | The Chapter on Killing And Martyrs in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The relative of the killed person has the right to choose one of two compensations in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1863 | Narrated Amir Bin Sad: that his father said; In the year of Hajjatal-Wada; the Prophet ﷺ paid me a visit while I was suffering from an ailment that had brought me to the verge of death. I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! My sickness has reduced me to the bad state as you see; and I am a rich man; but have no heirs except one daughter. Shall I give 2/3 of my property in charity? He said; No. I said; Then 1/2 of it? He said; Even 1/3 is too much; for; to leave your inheritors wealthy is better than to leave them in poverty; begging from people. And know that whatever you spend in Allah Cause; you will get reward for it; even for the morsel of food which you put in your wife mouth. I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Will I be left behind my companions in Mecca ? He said; If you remain behind; whatever good deed you will do for Allah Sake; will raise and upgrade you to a higher position in Allah Sight. May be you will live longer so that some people may benefit by you; and some e others pagans may get harmed by you. O Allah! Complete the migration of my companions and do not turn them on their heels; But we pity the poor Saad Bin Khaula not the above mentioned Sad died in Mecca Allah Messenger ﷺ lamented or pitied for him as he died in Mecca. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1932 | Narrated Ali: Allah Messenger ﷺ sent me; AlZubair Bin AlAwam and Abu Marthad AlGhanawi; and all of us were horsemen; and he said; Proceed till you reach Rawdat Khakh; where there is a woman from the pagans carrying a letter sent by Hatib Bin Abi Baltaa to the pagans of Mecca. So we overtook her while she was proceeding on her camel at the same place as Allah Messenger ﷺ told us. We said to her Where is the letter which is with you? She said; I have no letter with me. So we made her camel kneel down and searched her mount baggage etc but could not find anything. My two companions said; We do not see any letter. I said; I know that Allah Messenger ﷺ did not tell a lie. By Allah; if you the lady do not bring out the letter; I will strip you of your clothes When she noticed that I was serious; she put her hand into the knot of her waist sheet; for she was tying a sheet round herself; and brought out the letter. So we proceeded to Allah Messenger ﷺ with the letter. The Prophet ﷺ said to Habib ; What made you o what you have done; O Hatib? Hatib replied; I have done nothing except that I believe in Allah and His Apostle; and I have not changed or altered my religion. But I wanted to do the favor to the people pagans of Mecca through which Allah might protect my family and my property; as there is none among your companions but has someone in Mecca through whom Allah protects his property against harm. The Prophet ﷺ said; Habib has told you the truth; so do not say to him anything but good. Umar Bin AlKhattab said; Verily he has betrayed Allah; His Apostle; and the believers! Allow me to chop his neck off! The Prophet ﷺ said; O Umar! What do you know; perhaps Allah looked upon the Badr warriors and said; Do whatever you like; for I have ordained that you will be in Paradise. On that Umar wept and said; Allah and His Apostle know best. | The Chapter on Military Expedition And Makkah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The one who looks at a letter in order to know its written contents in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-227 | Narrated Abdullah Bin Ubaidullah Bin Abi Mulaika: One of the daughters of Uthman died at Mecca. We went to attend her funeral procession. Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas were also present. I sat in between them or said; I sat beside one of them. Then a man came and sat beside me. Abdullah Bin Umar said to Amr Bin Uthman; Will you not prohibit crying as Allah Messenger ﷺ has said; The dead person is tortured by the crying of his relatives.? Ibn Abbas said; Umar used to say so. Then he added narrating; I accompanied Umar on a journey from Mecca till we reached AlBaida. There he saw some travelers in the shade of a Samura A kind of forest tree. He said to me ; Go and see who those travelers are. So I went and saw that one of them was Suhaib. I told this to Umar who then asked me to call him. So I went back to Suhaib and said to him; Depart and follow the chief of the faithful believers. Later; when Umar was stabbed; Suhaib came in weeping and saying; O my brother; O my friend! on this Umar said to him; O Suhaib! Are you weeping for me while the Prophet ﷺ said; The dead person is punished by some of the weeping of his relatives? Ibn Abbas added; When Umar died I told all this to Aisha and she said; May Allah be merciful to Umar. By Allah; Allah Messenger ﷺ did not say that a believer is punished by the weeping of his relatives. But he said; Allah increases the punishment of a non-believer because of the weeping of his relatives. Aisha further added; The Quran is sufficient for you to clear up this point as Allah has stated: No burdened soul will bear another burden. 35.18. Ibn Abbas then said; Only Allah makes one laugh or cry. Ibn Umar did not say anything after that. | The Chapter on Funerals And The Dead in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The deceased is punished because of the weeping of his relatives in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2466 | Narrated Aisha: When Allah Messenger ﷺ emigrated to Medina; Abu Bakr and Bilal got a fever. I entered upon them and asked; O my father! How are you? O Bilal! How are you? Whenever fever attacked Abu Bakr; he would recite the following poetic verses: Everybody is staying alive among his people; yet death is nearer to him than his shoe laces. And whenever the fever deserted Bilal; he would recite two poetic lines : Would that I could stay overnight in a valley wherein I would be surrounded by Idhkhir and Jalil two kinds of good smelling grass. Would that one day I would drink of the water of Majinna and would that Shama and Tafil two mountains at Mecca would appear to me. Then I came and informed Allah Messenger ﷺ about that; whereupon he said; O Allah! Make us love Medina as much or more than we love Mecca. O Allah! Make it healthy and bless its Mudd and Sa for us; and take away its fever and put it in AlJuhfa. | The Chapter on Recitation Of Surat Albaqara in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The visiting of sick men by women in Sahih AlBukhari

When he had covered some of the way to Mecca; he and some companions of his; who were in the state of lhram. remained behind the Prophet while Abu Qatada himself was not in the state of Ihram. Abu Qatada; seeing an onager rode his horse and asked his companions to hand him a whip; but they refused. He then asked them to hand him his spear; but they refused. Then he took it himself and attacked the onager and killed it. Some of the Companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ ate of it; but some others refused to eat. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2863 | Narrated Aisha: Some Muslim men emigrated to Ethiopia whereupon Abu Bakr also prepared himself for the emigration; but the Prophet ﷺ said to him ; Wait; for I hope that Allah will allow me also to emigrate. Abu Bakr said; Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you. Do you hope that emigration ? The Prophet said; Yes. So Abu Bakr waited to accompany the Prophet ﷺ and fed two camels he had on the leaves of AlSamur tree regularly for four months One day while we were sitting in our house at midday; someone said to Abu Bakr; Here is Allah Messenger ﷺ ; coming with his head and a part of his face covered with a cloth-covering at an hour he never used to come to us. Abu Bakr said; Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you; O Prophet ! An urgent matter must have brought you here at this hour. The Prophet ﷺ came and asked the permission to enter; and he was allowed. The Prophet ﷺ entered and said to Abu Bakr; Let those who are with you; go out. Abu Bakr replied; There is no stranger ; they are your family. Let my father be sacrificed for you; O Allah Apostle! The Prophet ﷺ said; I have been allowed to leave Mecca. Abu Bakr said; I shall accompany you; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; Let my father be sacrificed for you! The Prophet ﷺ said; Yes; Abu Bakr said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ s! Let my father be sacrificed for you. Take one of these two shecamels of mine The Prophet ﷺ said. I will take it only after paying its price. So we prepared their baggage and put their journey food In a leather bag. And Asma bint Abu Bakr cut a piece of her girdle and tied the mouth of the leather bag with it. That is why she was called Dhatan- Nitaqaln. Then the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr went to a cave in a mountain called Thour and remained there for three nights. Abdullah Bin Abu Bakr. who was a young intelligent man. used to stay with them at night and leave before dawn so that in the morning; he would he with the Quraish at Mecca as if he had spent the night among them. If he heard of any plot contrived by the Quraish against the Prophet and Abu Bakr; he would understand it and return to inform them of it when it became dark. Amir Bin Fuhaira; the freed slave of Abu Bakr used to graze a flock of milch sheep for them and he used to take those sheep to them when an hour had passed after the Isha prayer. They would sleep soundly till Amir Bin Fuhaira awakened them when it was still dark. I came to Medina and encamped at Quba; and gave birth at Quba. Then I brought the child to Allah Messenger ﷺ and placed it on his lap. He asked for a date; chewed it; and put his saliva in the mouth of the child. So the first thing to enter its stomach was the saliva of Allah Messenger ﷺ. Then he did its Tahnik with a date; and invoked Allah to bless him. It was the first child born in the Islamic era; therefore they Muslims were very happy with its birth; for it had been said to them that the Jews had bewitched them; and so they would not produce any offspring. | The Chapter on Gifts And Child Birth in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The naming of a newly born child Al AlAqiqa and its Tahnik in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3336 | Narrated AlBara: Abu Bakr bought a camel saddle from Azib for thirteen Dirhams. Abu Bakr said to Azib; Tell AlBara to carry the saddle for me. Azib said; No; unless you relate to me what happened to you and Allah Messenger ﷺ when you left Mecca while the pagans were in search of you. Abu Bakr said; We left Mecca and we traveled continuously for that night and the following day till it was midday. I looked around searching for shade to take as shelter; and suddenly I came across a rock; and found a little shade there. So I cleaned the place and spread a bed for the Prophet ﷺ in the shade and said to him; Lie down; O Allah Messenger ﷺ. So the Prophet ﷺ lay down and I went out; looking around to see if there was any person pursuing us. Suddenly I saw a shepherd driving his sheep towards the rock; seeking what we had already sought from it. I asked him; To whom do you belong; O boy? He said; I belong to a man from Quraish. He named the man and I recognized him. I asked him; Is there any milk with your sheep? He said; Yes. I said; Will you then milk some for us? He said; Yes. Then I asked him to tie the legs of one of the sheep and clean its udder; and then ordered him to clean his hands from dust. Then the shepherd cleaned his hands by striking his hands against one another. After doing so; he milked a small amount of milk. I used to keep for Allah Messenger ﷺ a leather water-container; the mouth of which was covered with a piece of cloth. I poured water on the milk container till its lower part was cold. Then I took the milk to the Prophet ﷺ whom I found awake. I said to him; Drink; O Allah Messenger ﷺ. So he drank till I became pleased. Then I said; It is time for us to move; O Allah Apostle! He said; Yes. So we set out while the people i.e. Quraish pagans were searching for us; but none found us except Suraqah Bin Malik Bin Jushum who was riding his horse. I said; These are our pursuers who have found us. O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; Do not grieve; for Allah is with us. | The Chapter on Lost And Found And Dates in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The virtues of the emigrants ie Muhajirin in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3381 | Narrated Uthman: the son of Muhib An Egyptian who came and performed the Hajj to the Kaba saw some people sitting. He enquire; Who are these people? Somebody said; They are the tribe of Quraish. He said; Who is the old man sitting amongst them? The people replied; He is Abdullah Bin Umar. He said; O Ibn Umar! I want to ask you about something; please tell me about it. Do you know that Uthman fled away on the day of the battle of Uhud? Ibn Umar said; Yes. The Egyptian man said; Do you know that Uthman was absent on the day of the battle of Badr and did not join it? Ibn Umar said; Yes. The man said; Do you know that he failed to attend the Ar Ridwan pledge and did not witness it i.e. Hudaibiya pledge of allegiance ? Ibn Umar said; Yes. The man said; Allahu Akbar! Ibn Umar said; Let me explain to you all these three things. As for his flight on the day of Uhud; I testify that Allah has excused him and forgiven him; and as for his absence from the battle of Badr; it was due to the fact that the daughter of Allah Messenger ﷺ was his wife and she was sick then. Allah Messenger ﷺ said to him; You will receive the same reward and share of the booty as anyone of those who participated in the battle of Badr if you stay with her. As for his absence from the AlRidwan pledge of allegiance; had there been any person in Mecca more respectable than Uthman to be sent as a representative. Allah Messenger ﷺ would have sent him instead of him. No doubt; Allah Messenger ﷺ had sent him; and the incident of the AlRidwan pledge of Allegiance happened after Uthman had gone to Mecca. Allah Messenger ﷺ held out his right hand saying; This is Uthman hand. He stroke his other hand with it saying; This pledge of allegiance is on the behalf of Uthman. Then Ibn Umar said to the man; Bear these excuses in mind with you. | The Chapter on Oaths And Pledges And The Battle Of Badr in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The virtues of Uthman Bin Affan in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3724 | Narrated Ibn Abbas: When Abu Dhar received the news of the Advent of the Prophet ﷺ he said to his brother; Ride to this valley of Mecca and try to find out the truth of the person who claims to be a prophet who is informed of the news of Heaven. Listen to what he says and come back to me. So his brother set out and came to the Prophet ﷺ and listened to some of his talks; and returned to Abu Dhar and said to him. I have seen him enjoining virtuous behavior and saying something that is not poetry. Abu Dhar said; You have not satisfied me as to what I wanted. He then took his journey-food and carried a waterskin of his; containing some water till be reached Mecca. He went to the Masjid and searched for the Prophet and though he did not know him; he hated to ask anybody about him. When a part of the night had passed away; Ali saw him and knew that he was a stranger. So when Abu Dhar saw Ali; he followed him; and none of them asked his companion about anything; and when it was dawn; Abu Dhar took his journey food and his water-skin to the Masjid and stayed there all the day long without being perceived by the Prophet; and when it was evening; he came back to his retiring place. Ali passed by him and said; Has the man not known his dwelling place yet? So Ali awakened him and took him with him and none of them spoke to the other about anything. When it was the third day. Ali did the same and Abu Dhar stayed with him. Then Ali said Will you tell me what has brought you here? Abu Dhar said; If you give me a firm promise that you will guide me; then I will tell you. Ali promised him; and he informed Ali about the matter. Ali said; It is true; and he is the Messenger of Allah. Next morning when you get up; accompany me; and if I see any danger for you; I will stop as if to pass water; but if I go on; follow me and enter the place which I will enter. Abu Dhar did so; and followed Ali till he entered the place of the Prophet; and Abu Dhar went in with him; Abu Dhar listened to some of the Prophet talks and embraced Islam on the spot. The Prophet ﷺ said to him; Go back to your people and inform them about it till you receive my order. Abu Dhar said; By Him in Whose Hand my life is; I will proclaim my conversion loudly amongst them i.e. the pagans. So he went out; and when he reached the Masjid; he said as loudly as possible; I bear witness that None has the right to be worshipped except Allah; and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. The People got up and beat him painfully. Then AlAbbas came and knelt over him to protect him and said to the people ; Woe to you! Dont you know that this man belongs to the tribe of Ghifar and your trade to Sham is through their way? So he rescued him from them. Abu Dhar again did the same the next day. They beat him and took vengeance on him and again AlAbbas knelt over him to protect him. | The Chapter on Facts And Special Days in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The conversion of Abu Dhar to Islam in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3789 | Narrated Aisha: When Allah Messenger ﷺ came to Medina; Abu Bakr and Bilal got fever; and I went to both of them and said; O my father; how do you feel? O Bilal; how do you feel? Whenever Abu Bakr fever got worse; he would say; Every man will meet his death once in one morning while he will be among his family; for death is really nearer to him than his leather shoe laces to his feet. And whenever fever deserted Bilal; he would say aloud; Would that I know whether I shall spend a night in the valley of Mecca with Idhkhir and Jalil i.e. kinds of grass around me; and whether I shall drink one day the water of Mijannah; and whether I shall see once again the hills of Shamah and Tafil? Then I went to Allah Messenger ﷺ and told him of that. He said; O Allah; make us love Medina as much as or more than we used to love Mecca; O Allah; make it healthy and bless its Sa and Mud i.e. measures ; and take away its fever to AlJuhfa. | The Chapter on Cities Almadinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The AlRival of the Prophet at AlMadina in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihMuslim-017-001-18036 | It has been narrated on the authority of Salama Bin AlAkwa who said: We fought against the Fazara; and Abu Bakr was the commander over us. He had been appointed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When we were only at an hour distance from the water of the enemy; Abu Bakr ordered us to attack. We made a halt during the last part of the night to rest and then we attacked from all sides and reached their watering-place where a battle was fought. Some of the enemies were killed and some were taken prisoners. I saw a group of persons that consisted of women and children. I was afraid lest they should reach the mountain before me; so I shot an arrow between them and the mountain. When they saw the arrow; they stopped. So I brought them; driving them along. Among them was a woman from Banu Fazara. She was wearing a leather coat. With her was her daughter who was one of the prettiest girls in Arabia. I drove them along until I brought them to Abu Bakr who bestowed that girl upon me as a prize. So we arrived in Medina. I had not yet disrobed her when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ met me in the street and said: Give me that girl; O Salama. I said: Messenger of Allah; she has fascinated me. I had not yet disrobed her. When on the next day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ again met me in the street; he said: O Salama; give me that girl; may God bless your father. I said: She is for you; Messenger of Allah! By Allah. I have not yet disrobed her. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent her to the people of Mecca; and surrendered her as ransom for a number of Muslims who had been kept as prisoners at Mecca. | The Chapter on Almadinah And Angels In Alghazawat in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 14 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18095 | It has been narrated on the authority of Bara who said: When the Prophet ﷺ was checked from going to the Kaba; the people of Mecca made peace with himon the condition that he would be allowed to enter Mecca next year and stay there for three days; that he would not enter the city except with swords in their sheaths and arms encased in their covers; that he would not take eway with him anyone from its dwellers; nor would he prevent anyone from those with him to stay on in Mecca if he so desired. He said to Ali: Write down the terms settled between us. So Ali wrote : In the name of Allah; most Gracious and most Merciful. This is what Muhammad; the Messenger of Allah; has settled with the Meccans ; The polytheists said to him: If we knew that thou art the Messenger of of Allah; we would follow you. But write: Muhammad Bin Abdullah. So he told Ali to strike out these words. Ali said: No; by Allah; I will not strike them out. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Show me their place on the parchment. So he Ali showed him their place and he the Holy Prophet struck them out; and Ali wrote: Ibn Abdullah. According to the terms of the treaty; next year the Prophet ﷺ stayed there for three days When it was the third day; they said to Ali: This is the last day according to the terms of your companion. So tell him to leave. Ali informed the Prophet ﷺ accordingly. He said: Yes; and left the city. They were armed and wanted to attack the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions unawares. He the Holy Prophet captured them but spared their lives. SahihMuslim-017-001-18771 | It is reported on the authority of Abu Huraira that there was placed before the Messenger of Allah a cup of soft bread; soup and meat. He took part of the foreleg which he liked most. He sliced with his teeth a slice out of that and said: I would be the leader of mankind on the Day of Resurrection. He then sliced that meat for the second time and said: I am the leader of mankind on the Day of Resurrection. When he saw that his companions did not ask him about this assertion he said: Why dont you say: How would that be? They said: How would be it; Messenger of Allah? He said: People would stand before the Lord of the worlds. And the rest of the hadith was narrated like the one transmitted by Abu Hayan; on the authority of Abu Zura; and in the story of Ibrahim; this addition was made. He said and made mention of his words with regard to the star: This is my Lord. And his words with regard to their gods: But the big among them has done that. And his words: I am ailing. He the Holy Prophet said: By Him in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad; the distance between two leaves of the door from their supporting frames is as the distance between Mecca and Hajar or Hajar and Mecca. Have you not heard Allah Messenger may peace upon him as saying: He will have no children; I said: Yes; of course. Thereupon he said: But I have children. Have you not heard Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying: He would not enter Mecca and Medina? I said: Yes; of course. Thereupon he said I have been once in Medina and now I intend to go to Mecca. SahihMuslim-017-001-19220 | Abu Saeed AlKhudri reported: We came back after having performed Pilgrimage or Umra and lbn Saeed was along with us. And we encamped at a place and the people dispersed and I and he were left behind. I felt terribly frightend from him as it was said about him that he was the Dajjal. He brought his goods and placed them by my luggage and I said: It is intense heat. Would you not place that under that tree? And he did that. Then there appeared before us a flock of sheep. He went and brought a cup of milk and said: Abu Said; drink that. I said it is intense heat and the milk is also hot whereas the fact was that I did not like to drink from his hands or to take it from his hand and he said: Abu Said; I think that I should take a rope and suspend it by the tree and then commit suicide because of the talks of the people; and he further said. Abu Saeed he who is ignorant of the saying of Allah Messenger ﷺ he is to be pardoned ; but O people of Ansar; is this hadith of Allah Messenger ﷺ concealed from you whereas you have the best knowledge of the hadith of Allah Messenger ﷺ amongst people? Did Allah Messenger ﷺ not say that he Dajjal would be a non believer whereas I am a believer? Did Allah Messenger ﷺ not say he would be barren and no child would be born to him; whereas I have left my children in Medina? Did Allah Messenger may peace upon him not say: He would not get into Medina and Mecca whereas I have been coming from Medina and now I intend to go to Mecca? SahihMuslim-017-001-19253 | Amir Bin Sharahil Shabi Shab Hamdan reported that he asked Fatima; daughter of Qais and sister of AlDahhak Bin Qais and she was the first amongst the emigrant women: Narrate to me a hadith which you had heard directly from Allah Messenger ﷺ and there is no extra link in between them. She said: Very well; if you like; I am prepared to do that; and he said to her: Well; do It and narrate that to me. She said: I married the son of Mughira and he was a chosen young man of Quraish at that time; but he fell as a martyr in the first Jihad fighting on the side of Allah Messenger ﷺ. When I became a widow; Abdulrahman Bin Auf; one amongst the group of the Companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ ; sent me the proposal of marriage. Allah Messenger ﷺ also sent me such a message for his freed slave Usama Bin Zaid. And it had been conveyed to me that Allah Messenger ﷺ had said about Usama : He who loves me should also love Usama. When Allah Messenger ﷺ talked to me about this matter ; I said: My affairs are in your hand. You may marry me to anyone whom you like. He said: You better shift now to the house of Umm Sharik; and Umm Sharik was a rich lady from amongst the Ansar. She spent generously for the cause of Allah and entertained guests very hospitably. I said: Well; I will do as you like. He said: Do not do that for Umm Sharik is a woman who is very frequently visited by guests and I do not like that your head may be uncovered or the cloth may be removed from your shank and the strangers may catch sight of them which you abhor. You better shift to the house of your cousin Abdullah Bin Amr Bin Umm Maktum and he is a person of the Bani Fihr branch of the Quraish; and he belonged to that tribe to which Fatima belonged. So I shifted to that house; and when my period of waiting was over; I heard the voice of an announcer making an announcement that the prayer would be observed in the Masjid where congregational prayer is observed. So I set out towards that Masjid and observed prayer along with Allah Messenger ﷺ and I was in the row of the women which was near the row of men. When Allah Messenger ﷺ had finished his prayer; he sat on the pulpit smiling and said: Every worshipper should keep sitting at his place. He then said: Do you know why I had asked you to assemble? They said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: By Allah. I have not made you assemble for exhortation or for a warning; but I have detained you here; for Tamim Dari; a Christian; who came and accepted Islam; told me something; which agrees with what I was telling; you about the Dajjal. He narrated to me that he had sailed in a ship along with thirty men of Bani Lakhm and Bani Judham and had been tossed by waves in the ocean for a month. Then these waves took them near the land within the ocean island at the time of sunset. They sat in a small side-boat and entered that island. There was a beast with long thick hair and because of these they could not distinguish his face from his back. They said: Woe to you; who can you be? Thereupon it said: I am AlJassasa. They said: What is AlJassasa? And it said: O people; go to this person in the monastery as he is very much eager to know about you. He the narrator said: When it named a person for us we were afraid of it lest it should be a devil. Then we hurriedly went on till we came to that monastery and found a well-built person there with his hands tied to his neck and having iron shackles between his two legs up to the ankles. We said: Woe be upon thee; who are you? And he said: You would soon come to know about me. but tell me who are you. We said: We are people from Arabia and we embarked upon a boat but the sea-waves had been driving us for one month and they brought as near this island. We got Into the side-boats and entered this island and here a beast met us with profusely thick hair and because of the thickness of his hair his face could not be distinguished from his back. We said: Woe be to thee; who are you? It said: I am AlJassasa. We said: What is AlJassasa? And it said: You go to this very person in the monastery for he is eagerly waiting for you to know about you. So we came to you in hot haste fearing that that might be the Devil. He that chained person said: Tell me about the date-palm trees of Baisan. We said: About what aspect of theirs do you seek information? He said: I ask you whether these trees bear fruit or not. We said: yes. Thereupon he said: I think these would not bear fruits. He said: Inform me about the lake of Tabariya? We said: Which aspect of it do you want to know? He said: Is there water in it? They said: There is abundance of water in it. Thereupon he said: I think it would soon become dry. He again said: Inform me about the spring of Zughar. They said: Which aspect of it you want to know? He the chained person said: Is there water in it and does it irrigate the land ? We said to him: Yes; there is abundance of water in it and the inhabitants of Medina irrigate land with the help of it; He said: Inform me about the unlettered Prophet; what has he done? We said: He has come out from Mecca and has settled In Yathrib Medina. He said: Do the Arabs fight against him? We said: Yes. He said: How did he deal with them? We informed him that he had overcome those in his neighbourhood and they had submitted themselves before him. Thereupon he said to us: Has it actually happened? We said: Yes. Thereupon he said: If it is so that is better for them that they should show obedience to him. I am going to tell you about myself and I am Dajjal and would be soon permitted to get out and so I shall get out and travel in the land; and will not spare any town where I would not stay for forty nights except Mecca and Medina as these two places are prohibited areas for me and I would not make an attempt to enter any one of these two. An angel with a sword in his hand would confront me and would bar my way and there would be angels to guard every passage leading to it; then Allah Messenger ﷺ striking the pulpit with the help of the end of his staff said: This implies Taiba meaning Medina. Have I not; told you an account of the Dajjal like this? The people said: Yes; and this account narrated by Tamim Dari was liked by me for it corroborates the account which I gave to you in regard to him Dajjal at Medina and Mecca. Behold he Dajjal is in the Syrian sea Mediterranean or the Yemen sea Arabian sea. Nay; on the contrary; he is in the east; he is in the east; he is in the east; and he pointed with his hand towards the east. SahihMuslim-017-001-20768 | Abdullah Bin Samit reported that Abu Dharr said: We set out from our tribe Ghafir who look upon the prohibited months as permissible months. I and my brother Unais and our mother stayed with our maternal uncle who treated us well. The men of his tribe fell jealous and they said: When you are anay from your house; Unais commits adultery with your wife. Our -naternal uncle came and he accused us of the sin which was conveyed to him. I said: You have undone the good you did to us. We cannot stay with you after this. We came to our camels and loaded our luggage. Our maternal uncle began to weep covering himself with a piece of cloth. We proceeded on until we encamped by the side of Mecca. Unais cast lot on the camels we had and an equal number above that. They both went to a Kahin and he made Unais win and Unais came with our camels and an equal number along with them. He Abu Dharr said: My nephew; I used to observe prayer three years before my meeting with Allah Messenger ﷺ. I said: For whom did you say prayer? He said: For Allah. I said: To which direction did you turn your face for observing prayer ? He said: I used to turn my face as Allah has directed me to turn my face. I used to observe the night prayer at the time of the end of night and I fell down in prostration like the mantle until the sun rose over me. Unais said: I have a work in Mecca; so you better stay here. Unais went until he came to Mecca and he came to me late. I said: What did you do? He said: I met a person in Mecca who is on your religion and he claims that verily it is Allah Who has sent him. I said: What do the people say about him? He said: They say that he is a poet or a Kahin or a magician. Unais who was himself one of the poets said. I have heard the words of a Kahin but his words in no way resemble his words. And 1 also compared his words to the verses of poets but such words cannot be uttered by any poet. By Allah; he is truthful and they are liars. Then I said: you stay here; until I go; so that I should see him. He said: I came to Mecca and I selected an insignificant person from amongst them and said to him: Where is he whom you call AlSabi? He pointed out towards me saying: He is Sabi. Thereupon the people of the valley attacked me with sods and bows until I fell down unconscious. I stood up after havin. regained my consciousness and I found as if I was a red idol. I came to Zamzarn and washed blood from me and drank water from it and listen; O son of my brother; I stayed there for thirty nights or days and there was no food for me but the water of Zamzarn. And I became so bulky that there appeared wrinkles upon my stomach; and I did not feel any hunger in my stomach. It was during this time that the people of Mecca slept in the moonlit night and none was there to eircumambulate the House but only two women who had been invoking the name of Isafa; and Naila the two idols. They came to me while in their circuit and I said: Marry one with the other; but they did not dissuade from their invoking. They came to me and I said to them: Insert wood in the idols private parts. I said this to them in such plain words as I could not express in metaphorical terms. These women went away crying and saying: Had there been one amongst our people he would have taught a lesson to you for the obscene words used for our idols before us. These women met Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr who had also been coming down the hill. He asked them: What has happened to you? They said: There is Sabi; who has hidden himself between the Kaba and its curtain. He said: What did he say to you? They said: He uttered such words before us as we cannot express. Allah Messenger ﷺ came and he kissed the Black Stone and circumambulated the House along with his Companion and then observed prayer; and when he had finished his prayer; Abu Dharr said: I was the first to greet him with the salutation of peace and uttered these words in this way; Allah Messen- ger; may there be peace upon you; whereupon he said: It may be upon you too and the mercy of Allah. He then said: Who are you? I said: From the tribe of Ghifar. He leaned his hand and placed his finger on his forehead and I said to myself: Perhaps he has not liked it that I belong to the tribe of Ghifar. I attempted to catch hold of his hand but his friend who knew about him more than I dissuaded me f rom doing so. He then lifted his head and said: Since how long have you been here? I said: I have been here for the last thirty nights or days. He said: Who has been feeding you? I said: There has been no food for me but the water of Zamzam. I have grown so bulky that there appear wrinkles upon my stomach and I do not feel any hunger. He said: It is blessed water and it also serves as food. Thereupon Abu Bakr said: Allah Messenger; let me serve as a host to him for tonight; and then Allah Messenger ﷺ proceeded forth and so did Abu Bakr and I went along with them. Abu Bakr opened the door and then he brought for us the raisins of Taif and that was the first food which I ate there. Then I stayed as long as I had to stay. I then came to Allah Messenaer ﷺ and he said: I have been shown the land abound- ing in trees and I think it cannot be but that of Yathrib that is the old name of Medina. You are a preacher to your people on my behalf. I hope Allah would benefit them through you and He would reward you. I came to Unais and he said: What have you done? I said: I have done that I have embraced Islam and I have testified to the prophethood of Allah Messenger. He said: I have no aversion for your religion and I also embrace Islam and testify to the prophethood of Muhammad. Then both of us came to our mother and she said: I have no aversion for your religion and I also embrace Islam and testify to the prophethood of Muhammad. We then loaded our camels and came to our tribe Ghifir and half of the tribe embraced Islam and their chief was Aimi Bin Rahada Ghifirl and he was their leader and hall of the tribe said: We will embrace Islam when Allah Messenger may p;. ace be upon him would come to Medina; and when Allah Messenger ﷺ came to Medina the remaining half also embraced Islam. Then a tribe Aslam came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: Allah Messenger; we also embrace Islam like our brothers who have embraced Islam. And they also embraced Islam. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Allah granted pardon to the tribe of Ghifar and Allah saved from destruction the tribe of Aslam. | The Chapter on Pre-Islam And Makkah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 28 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-20771 | Ibn Abbas reported that when Abu Dharr heard of the advent of the Apostle ﷺ in Mecca he said: Brother; ride in this valley and bring information for me about the person who claims that there comes to him information from the Heavens. Listen to his words and then come to me. So he rode on until he came to Mecca and he heard his words the sacred words of the Holy Prophet and then came back to Abu Dharr and said: I have seen him exhorting people to develop good morals and his expressions can in no way be termed as poetry. He Abu Dharr said: I have not been satisfied with it regarding that which I had in my mind as I sent you. So he took up provisions for the journey and a small water-skin containing water and set forth until he came to Mecca. He came to the Masjid Kabah and began to look for Allah Apostle ﷺ and he did not recognize him the Holy Prophet and he did not even like that he should ask about him from anyone until it was night; and he slept. Ali saw him and found him to be a stranger. So he went with him. He followed him but one did not make any inquiry from the other about anything until it was morning. He then brought the water and his provisions to the Masjid and spent a day there; but he did not see Allah Apostle ﷺ until it was night. He then returned to his bed; and there happened to pass Ali and he said: This man has not been able to find his destination until this time. He made him stand and he went with him and no one made an inquiry from his companion about anything. And when it was the third day he did the same. Ali made him stand up and brought him along with him. He said: By Him; besides Whom there is no god; why dont you tell me the reason which brought you here to this town? He said: I shall do this provided you hold me promise and a covenant that you would guide me aright. He then did that. He Ali said: Verily; he is truthful and he is a Messenger of Allah ﷺ and when it is morning; follow me and if I would say anything from which I would sense fear about you I would stand in a manner as if I was throwing water and if I move on; you then follow me until I get in some house. He did that and I followed him until he came to Allah Messenger ﷺ. He entered the house of Allah Apostle ﷺ along with him and listened to his words and embraced Islam at this very place. Allah Apostle ﷺ said to him: Go to your people and inform them until my command reaches you. Thereupon he said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life; I shall say to the people of Mecca this thing at the top of my voice. So he set forth until he came to the Masjid and then spoke at the top of his voice saying : I bear testimony to the fact that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. The people attacked him and made him fall down when AlAbbas came and he leaned over him and said: Woe be upon you; dont you know that he is from amongst the tribe of Ghifar and your trading route to Syria passes through the settlements of this tribe ; and he rescued him. So I and another person of my tribe went out; and I was more handsome than he; whereas he was almost ugly. Each one of us had a cloaks; My cloak was worn out; whereas the cloak of my cousin was quite new. As we reached the lower or the upper side of Mecca; we came across a young woman like a young smart long-necked camel. We said: Is it possible that one of us may contract temporary marriage with you? She said: What will you give me as a dower? Each one of us spread his cloak. She began to cast a glance on both the persons. My companion also looked at her when she was casting a glance at her side and he said: This cloak of his is worn out; whereas my cloak is quite new. She; however; said twice or thrice: There is no harm in accepting this cloak the old one. Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas were also present there; and I was sitting between them. He added: I first sat by the side of one of them; then the other one came and he sat by my side. Abdullah Bin Umar said to Amr Bin Uthman who was sitting opposite to him: Will you not prevent the people from lamenting; for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had said: The dead is punished because of the lamenting of his family for him? Ibn Abbas then said that Umar used to say someting of that nature; and then narrated saying: I proceeded from Mecca along with Umar till we reached AlBaida and there was a party of riders under the shade of a tree. He said to me : Go and find out who this party is. I cast a glance and there was Suhaib in that party. So I informed him Umar about it. He said: Call him to me. So I went back to Suhaib and said: Go and meet the Commander of the believers. When Umar was wounded; Suhaib came walling: Alas; for the brother! alas for the companion! Umar said: O Suhaib; do you wail for me; whereas the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The dead would be punished on account of the lamentation of the members of his family ? Ibn Abbas said: When Umar died I made a mention of it to Aisha. She said: May Allah have mercy upon Umar! I swear by Allah that Allah Messenger ﷺ never said that Allah would punish the believer because of the weeping of any one of the members of his family ; but he said that Allah would increase the punishment of the unbeliever because of the weeping of his family over him. All these men once turned their backs; till he the Holy Prophet was left alone. He the Messenger of Allah on that day called twice and he did not interpose anything between these two announcements. This remark reached him the Holy Prophet. and he gathered them In a tent. and said: What is this news that has reached me on your behalf? They kept silence. We were also people large in number; and our number had reached six thousand. And on one side Khalid Bin Walid was in charge of the cavalry. And our horses at once turned back from our rear. And we could hardly hold our own when our horses were exposed; and the bedouins and the people whom we knew took to their heels. He met him and said: Muhammad; I can protect one who is under the influence of charm; and Allah cures one whom He so desires at my hand. Do you desire this ? Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Praise is due to Allah; we praise Him; ask His help; and he whom Allah guides aright there is none to lead him astray; and he who is led astray there is none to guide him; and I bear testimony to the fact that there is no god but Allah; He is One; having no partner with Him; and that Muhammad is His Servant and Messenger. Now after this he Dimad said: Repeat these words of yours before me; and the messenger of Allah ﷺ repeated these to him thrice; and he said I have heard the words of soothsayers and the words of magicians; and the words of poets; but I have never heard such words as yours; and they reach the depth of the ocean of eloquence ; bring forth your hand so that I should take oath of fealty to you on Islam. So he took an oath of allegiance to him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: It this allegiance of yours is on behalf of your people too. He said: It is on behalf of my people too. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent an expedition and the flying column passed by his people. The leader of the flying column said to the detachment: Did you find anything from these people? One of the people said: I found a utensil for water. Upon this he the commander said: Return it; for he is one of the people of Dimad. | The Chapter on Supplications And Fear in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 13 in Sahih Muslim
