Grant me that I may be grateful for Thy favour which Thou has bestowed upon me, and upon both my parents, and that I may work righteousness such as Thou mayest approve; and be gracious to me in my issue. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1423 | Narrated Zaid Bin Thabit: The Prophet ﷺ took a room made of date palm leaves mats in the Masjid. Allah Messenger ﷺ prayed in it for a few nights till the people gathered to pray the night prayer Tarawih behind him. Then on the 4th night the people did not hear his voice and they thought he had slept; so some of them started humming in order that he might come out. The Prophet ﷺ then said; You continued doing what I saw you doing till I was afraid that this Tarawih prayer might be enjoined on you; and if it were enjoined on you; you would not continue performing it. Therefore; O people! Perform your prayers at your homes; for the best prayer of a person is what is performed at his home except the compulsory congregational prayer. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1978 | Narrated Talha Bin Ubaidullah: A bedouin with unkempt hair came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Tell me what Allah has enjoined on me as regards prayers. The Prophet ﷺ said; You have to offer perfectly the five compulsory prayers in a day and a night 24 hrs. ; except if you want to perform some extra optional prayers. The bedouin said; Tell me what Allah has enjoined on me as regards fasting. The Prophet ﷺ said; You have to observe fast during the month of Ramadan except if you fast some extra optional fast. The bedouin said; Tell me what Allah has enjoined on me as regard Zakat. The Prophet ﷺ then told him the Islamic laws and regulations whereupon the bedouin said; By Him Who has honored you; I will not perform any optional deeds of worship and I will not leave anything of what Allah has enjoined on me. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; He will be successful if he has told the truth or he will enter Paradise if he said the truth. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5936 | Narrated Abu Wail: Hudhaifa said; Umar said; Who amongst you remembers the statement of Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ about afflictions? I said; I know it as the Prophet ﷺ had said it. Umar said; No doubt; you are bold. How did he say it? I said; A man afflictions wrong deeds concerning his wife; children and neighbors are expiated by his prayers; charity; and enjoining good. The sub-narrator Sulaiman added that he said; The prayer; charity; enjoining good and forbidding evil. Umar said; I did not mean that; but I ask about that affliction which will spread like the waves of the sea. I said; O chief of the believers! You need not be afraid of it as there is a closed door between you and it. He asked; Will the door be broken or opened? I replied; No; it will be broken. He said; Then; if it is broken; it will never be closed again? I replied; Yes. Then we were afraid to ask what that door was; so we asked Masruq to inquire; and he asked Hudhaifa regarding it. Hudhaifa said; The door was Umar. We further asked Hudhaifa whether Umar knew what that door meant. One of them said to the other: He does not understand more than his camel!: I came to Umar and said: O Commander of the Believers! I have become Muslim and I am keen to go for Jihad; but I learned that Hajj and Umrah were enjoined on me; so I went to Huraim Bin Abdullah and said: Hey you! I have learned that Hajj; and Umrah have been enjoined on me.
