SahihMuslim-017-001-21757Abdullah Bin Abu Mulaika reported: I was sitting by the side of Ibn Umar; and we were waiting for the bier of Umm Aban; daughter of Uthman; and there was also Amr Bin Uthman. In the meanwhile there came Ibn Abbas led by a guide. I conceive that he was informed of the place of Ibn Umar. So he came till he sat by my side. While I was between them Ibn Abbas and Ibn Umar there came the noise of wailing from the house. Upon this Ibn Umar said that is; he pointed out to Amr that he should stand and forbid them; for : I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: The dead is punished because of the lamentation of his family. Abdullah made it general what was said for a particular occasion. Ibn Abbas said: When we were with the Commander of the believers; Umar Bin AlKhattab; we reached Baida; and there was a man under the shadow of the tree. He said to me: Go and inform me who is that person. So I went and found that he was Suhaib. I returned to him and said: You commanded me to find out for you who that was; and he is Suhaib. He Hadrat Umar said: Command him to see us. I said: He has family along with him. He said: That is of no account even if he has family along with him. So he the narrator told him to see the Commander of the believers and his party. When we came to Medina ; it was before long that the Commander of the believers was wounded; and Suhaib came weeping and crying: Alas for the brother; alas for the companion. Upon this Umar said: Didnt you know; or didnt you hear; that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The dead is punished because of the lamentation of his family? Then Abdullah made it general and Umar told it of certain occasions. So I Abdullah Bin Abu Mulaika stood up and went to Aisha and told her what Ibn Umar had said. Upon this she said: I swear by Allah that Allah Messenger ﷺ never said that dead would be punished because of his family lamenting for him. What he said was that Allah would increase the punishment of the unbeliever because of his family lamenting for him. Verily it is Allah Who has caused laughter and weeping. No bearer of a burden will bear another burden. Ibn Abu Mulaika said that AlQasim Bin Muhammad said that when the words of Umar and Ibn Umar were conveyed to Aisha; she said: You have narrated it to me from those who are neither liar nor those suspected of lying but sometimes hearing misleads. The Chapter on Funerals And Punishment in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 9 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-21758Abdullah Bin Abu Mulaika said: The daughter of Uthman Bin Affan died in Mecca. We came to attend her funeral. Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas were also present there; and I was sitting between them. He added: I first sat by the side of one of them; then the other one came and he sat by my side. Abdullah Bin Umar said to Amr Bin Uthman who was sitting opposite to him: Will you not prevent the people from lamenting; for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had said: The dead is punished because of the lamenting of his family for him? Ibn Abbas then said that Umar used to say someting of that nature; and then narrated saying: I proceeded from Mecca along with Umar till we reached AlBaida and there was a party of riders under the shade of a tree. He said to me : Go and find out who this party is. I cast a glance and there was Suhaib in that party. So I informed him Umar about it. He said: Call him to me. So I went back to Suhaib and said: Go and meet the Commander of the believers. When Umar was wounded; Suhaib came walling: Alas; for the brother! alas for the companion! Umar said: O Suhaib; do you wail for me; whereas the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The dead would be punished on account of the lamentation of the members of his family ? Ibn Abbas said: When Umar died I made a mention of it to Aisha. She said: May Allah have mercy upon Umar! I swear by Allah that Allah Messenger ﷺ never said that Allah would punish the believer because of the weeping of any one of the members of his family ; but he said that Allah would increase the punishment of the unbeliever because of the weeping of his family over him. Aisha said: The Quran is enough for you when it states : No bearer of burden will bear another burden vi. 164. Thereupon Ibn Abbas said: Allah is He Who has caused laughter and weeping. Ibn Abu Mulaika said: By Allah; Ibn Umar said nothing. The Chapter on Funerals And Punishment in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 9 in Sahih Muslim

SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25970Narrated AlBara Ibn Azib: We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ accompanying the bier of a man of the Ansar. When we reached his grave; it was not yet dug. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat down and we also sat down around him as if birds were over our heads. He had in his hand a stick with which he was scratching the ground. He then raised his head and said: Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment in the grave. He said it twice or thrice. The version of Jabir adds here: He hears the beat of their sandals when they go back; and at that moment he is asked: O so and so! Who is your Lord; what is your religion; and who is your Prophet? Hannad version says: Two angels will come to him; make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: My Lord is Allah. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: My religion is Islam. They will ask him: What is your opinion about the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: He is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They will ask: Who made you aware of this? He will reply: I read Allah Book; believed in it; and considered it true; which is verified by Allah words: Allah Book; believed in it; and considered it true; which is verified by Allah words: Allah establishes those who believe with the word that stands firm in this world and the next. The agreed version reads: Then a crier will call from Heaven: My servant has spoken the truth; so spread a bed for him from Paradise; clothe him from Paradise; and open a door for him into Paradise. So some of its air and perfume will come to him; and a space will be made for him as far as the eye can see. He also mentioned the death of the infidel; saying: His spirit will be restored to his body; two angels will come to him; make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. They will ask: Who was the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. Then a crier will call from Heaven: He has lied; so spread a bed for him from Hell; clothe him from Hell; and open for him a door into Hell. Then some of its heat and pestilential wind will come to him; and his grave will be compressed; so that his ribs will be crushed together. Jabir version adds: One who is blind and dumb will then be placed in charge of him; having a sledge-hammer such that if a mountain were struck with it; it would become dust. He will give him a blow with it which will be heard by everything between the east and the west except by men and jinn; and he will become dust. Then his spirit will be restored to him.The Chapter on Mercy And Angels in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Questioning And Punishment In The Grave in Sunan Abu Dawoud

His father had invited him to eat; and when he replied that he was fasting; his father said; These are the days on which the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; forbade us to fast; and told us to break the fast on them. MuwataMalik-017-001-36058Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah Ibn Umar used to say the tashahhud saying; In the name of Allah. Greetings belong to Allah. Prayers belong to Allah. Pure actions belong to Allah. Peace be on the Prophet and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be on us and on the slaves of Allah who are salihun. I testify that there is no god except Allah. I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Bismillah; AlTahiyatu lillah; AlSalawatu lillah; AlZakiyatu lillah. AlSalamu alan-nabiyi wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. AlSalamu alayna wa ala ibadillahis-salihin. Shahidtu an la ilaha illallah. Shahidtu anna Muhammad AlRasulullah. He used to say this after the first two rakas and he would make supplication with whatever seemed fit to him when the tashahhud was completed. When he sat at the end of the prayer; he did the tashahhud in a similar manner; except that after the tashahhud he made supplication with whatever seemed fit to him. When he had completed the tashahhud and intended to say the taslim; he said; Peace be on the Prophet and His mercy and blessings. Peace be upon us and on the slaves of Allah who are salihun. Alsalamu alan-nabiyi wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. AlSalamu alayna wa ala ibadillahissalihin. He then said; Peace be upon you to his right; and would return the greeting to the imam; and if anyone said Peace be upon you from his left he would return the greeting to him.The Chapter on Worship And Tashahhud in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Zakat in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-36089Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya Ibn Said from Muhammad Ibn Ibrahim Ibn alHarith AlTaymi from Yahya Ibn Abdulrahman Ibn Hatib that Umar Ibn AlKhattab set out on one occasion with a party of riders; one of whom was Amr Ibn AlAs. They came to a watering place and Amr Ibn AlAs asked the man who owned it whether wild beasts drank from it. Umar Ibn AlKhattab told the owner of the watering place not to answer; since the people drank after the wild beasts and the wild beasts drank after them. The Chapter on Forbidden And Dinks in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Zakat in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-36160Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham Ibn Urwa from his father fromYahyaibn Abdulrahman Ibn Ha ib that he had set off for Mumra with Umar Ibn AlKhattab in a party of riders; among whom was Amr Ibn AlAs. Umar Ibn AlKhattab dismounted for a rest late at night on a certain road near a certain oasis. Umar had a wet dream when it was almost dawn and there was no water among the riding party. He rode until he came to some water and then he began to wash off what he saw of the semen until it had gone. Amr Ibn AlAs said to him; It is morning and there are clothes with us; so allow your garment to be washed. Umar Ibn AlKhattab said to him; I am surprised at you; Amr Ibn AlAs! Even if you could find clothes; would everybody be able to find them? By Allah; if I were to do it; it would become a sunna. No; I wash what I see; and I sprinkle with water what I do not see. Malik spoke about a man who found traces of a wet dream on his clothes and did not know when it had occurred and did not remember anything he had seen in his sleep. He said; Let the intention of his ghusl be from the time when he last slept; and if he has prayed since that last sleep he should repeat it. This is because often a man has a wet dream and sees nothing; and often he sees something but does not have an emission. But; if he finds liquid on his garment he must do ghusl. This is because Umar repeated what he had prayed after the time he had last slept and not what was before it.The Chapter on Ablution After Dreams Menstruation And Sexual Intercourse in HodHood Indexing, The Book of The Quran in Muwata Malik
