SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1079		Narrated Abu Bakra: The Prophet ﷺ said; Time has come back to its original state which it had when Allah created the Heavens and the Earth; the year is twelve months; of which four are sacred; and out of these four three are in succession; namely; Dh AlQada; Dhu AlHijja and Muharram; and the fourth one Rajab Mudar which is between Jumad Ath-Tham and Shaban. The Prophet ﷺ then asked us; Which month is this? We said; Allah and His Apostle know it better. He kept quiet so long that we thought he might call it by another name. Then he said; Isnt it Dhu AlHijja? We said; Yes. He asked What town is this? We said; Allah and His Apostle know it better. Then he kept quiet so long that we thought he might call it by another name. He then said; Isnt it the forbidden town Mecca ? We said; Yes. He asked; What is the day today? We said; Allah and His Apostle know it better. Then he kept quiet so long that we thought that he might call it by another name. Then he said; Isnt it the Day of AlNahr slaughtering of sacrifices ? We said; Yes. Then he said; Your blood lives ; your properties; the sub narrator Muhammad; said: I think he also said :..and your honor are as sacred to one another like the sanctity of this Day of yours; in this town of yours; in this month of yours. You shall meet your Lord and He will ask you about your deeds. Beware! Dont go astray after me by striking the necks of one another. Lo! It is incumbent upon those who are present to inform it to those who are absent for perhaps the informed one might comprehend it understand it better than some of the present audience. Whenever the sub-narrator Muhammad mentioned that statement; he would say; The Prophet ﷺ said the truth. And then the Prophet ﷺ added; No doubt! Havent I conveyed Allah Message to you! No doubt! SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1220		Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: We were in the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ and we assumed the state of Ihram of Hajj and arrived at Mecca on the fourth of Dhu AlHijja. The Prophet ﷺ ordered us to perform the Tawaf around the Kaba and Sai between AlSafa and AlMarwa and use our lhram just for Umra; and finish the state of Ihram unless we had our Hadi with us. None of us had the Hadi with him except the Prophet ﷺ and Talha. Ali came from Yemen and brought the Hadi with him. Ali said; I had assumed the state of Ihram with the same intention as that with which Allah Messenger ﷺ had assumed it. The people said; How can we proceed to Mina and our male organs are dribbling? Allah Messenger ﷺ said; If I had formerly known what I came to know latterly; I would not have brought the Hadi; and had there been no Hadi with me; I would have finished my Ihram. Suraqa bin Malik met the Prophet ﷺ while he was throwing pebbles at the Jamrat AlAqaba; and asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Is this permitted for us only? The Prophet ﷺ replied. No; it is forever Aisha had arrived at Mecca while she was menstruating; therefore the Prophet ﷺ ordered her to perform all the ceremonies of Hajj except the Tawaf around the Kaba; and not to perform her prayers unless and until she became clean. When they encamped at AlBatha; Aisha said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! You are proceeding after performing both Hajj and Umra while I am proceeding with Hajj only? So the Prophet ﷺ ordered Abdulrahman Bin Abu Bakr AlSiddiq to go with her to AlTanim; and so she performed the Umra in Dhu AlHijja after the days of the Hajj. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2906		Narrated Saeed AlMaqburi: Ubai Bin Juraij said to Abdullah Bin Umar; I see you doing four things which are not done by your friends. Ibn Umar said; What are they; O Ibn Juraij? He said; I see that you do not touch except the two Yemenite corners of the Kaba while performing the Tawaf : and I see you wearing the Sabtiya shoes; and I see you dyeing your hair with Sufra; and I see that when you are in Mecca; the people assume the state of Ihram on seeing the crescent on the first day of Dhu AlHijja while you do not assume the state of Ihram till the Day of Tarwiya 8th Dhu AlHijja. Abdullah Bin Umar said to him; As for the corners of the Kaba; I have not seen Allah Messenger ﷺ touching except the two Yemenite corners; As for the Sabtiya shoes; I saw Allah Messenger ﷺ wearing leather shoes that had no hair; and he used to perform the ablution while wearing them. Therefore; I like to wear such shoes. As regards dyeing with Sufra; I saw Allah Messenger ﷺ dyeing his hair with it; so I like to dye my hair with it. As regards the crescent of Dhu AlHijja ; I have not seen Allah Messenger ﷺ assuming the state of Ihram till his camel set out on the 8th of Dhu AlHijja. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5705		Narrated Abu Shihab: I left for Mecca for Hajj AlTamattu assuming Ihram for Umra. I reached Mecca three days before the day of Tarwiya 8th Dhu AlHijja. Some people of Mecca said to me; Your Hajj will be like the Hajj performed by the people of Mecca i.e. you will lose the superiority of assuming Ihram from the Miqat. So I went to Ata asking him his view about it. He said; Jabir Bin Abdullah narrated to me; I performed Hajj with Allah Messenger ﷺ on the day when he drove camels with him. The people had assumed Ihram for Hajj AlIfrad. The Prophet ﷺ ordered them to finish their Ihram after Tawaf round the Kaba; and between Safa and Marwa and to cut short their hair and then to stay there in Mecca as non-Muhrims till the day of Tarwiya i.e. 8th of Dhu AlHijja when they would assume Ihram for Hajj and they were ordered to make the Ihram with which they had come as for Umra only. They asked; How can we make it Umra Tamattu as we have intended to perform Hajj? The Prophet ﷺ said; Do what I have ordered you. Had I not brought the Hadi with me; I would have done the same; but I cannot finish my Ihram till the Hadi reaches its destination i.e. is slaughtered. So; they did what he ordered them to do. SahihMuslim-017-001-22736		Ubaid Bin Juraij said to Ahdullah Bin Umar Allah be pleased with them : Abdulrahman I find you doing four things which I do not see anyone among your companions doing. He said: Son of Juraij; what are these? Thereupon he said: You while circumambulating the Kaba do not touch but the two pillars situated on the side of yaman south ; and I find you wearing the sandals of tanned leather; and I find you with dyed beard and head; and I also found that; when you were at Mecca; the people pronounced Talbiya as they saw the new moon Dhu AlHijja ; but you did not do it till the 8th of Dhu AlHijja. Upon this Abdullab Bin Umar said: So far as the touching of the pillars is concerned; I did not see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ touching them but only those situated on the side of yaman. So far as the wearing of the shoes of tanned leather is concerned; I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wearing shoes without hair on them; and he wore them with wet feet after performing ablution; and I like to wear them. So far as the yellowness is concerned; I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ dyeing head; beard and cloth with this colour and I love to dye my head; beard or cloth with this colour. And so far as the pronouncing of Talbiya is concerned; I did not see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pronouncing it until his camel proceeded on to Dhu AlHulaifa. SahihMuslim-017-001-22836		Aisha Allah be pleased with her reported: We went with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with no other aim but that of Hajj till we came to the place known as Sarif; and there I entered in the state of menses. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to me while I was weeping. He said: What makes you weep? I said: Would that I had not come for Pilgrimage this year. He the Holy Prophet said: What has happened to you? You have perhaps entered the period of menses. I said: Yes. He said: This is what has been ordained for the daughters of Adam. Do what a pilgrim does except that you should not circumambulate the House; till you are purified of the menses. She Aisha said: When I came to Mecca; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to his companions: Make this Ihram the Ihram for Umra. So the people put off Ihram except those who had sacrificial animals with them. She Aisha said: The Apostle of Allah ﷺ had the sacrificial animal with him; and so had Abu Bakr; Umar and other persons of means. They those who had put off Ihram again put on Ihram for Hajj when they marched towards Mina ; and it was the 8th of Dhu AlHijja. She Aisha said: When it was the day of sacrifice 10th of Dhu AlHijja ; I was purified; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me and I did the circumambulation of Ifada. She said that the flesh of cow was sent to us. I said: What is it? They said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has offered a cow as sacrifice on behalf of his wives. When it was the night at Hasba; I said: Messenger of Allah; people are coming back from Hajj and Umra; where as I am coming back from Hajj alone. She Aisha reported: He the Holy Prophet commanded Abdulrahman Bin Abu Bakr to mount me upon his camel behind him. She Aisha said: I was very young and I well remember that I dozed off and my face touched the hind part of the haudaj camel litter till we came to Tanim; and entered into the state of Ihram in lieu of Umra which I for the time being abandoned and which the people had performed. MuwataMalik-017-001-35783		Yahya related to me from Malik; from Hisham Ibn Urwa; that Abdullah Ibn AlZubair stayed in Makka for nine years. He would go into ihram for hajj at the beginning of Dhu AlHijja; and Urwa Ibn AlZubayr; who was with him; would do likewise. Yahya said that Malik said; The people of Makka and whoever else is living there besides them should go into ihram for hajj if they are in Makka; and anyone that is living in the centre of Makka and is not one of the people of Makka should not leave the Haram. Yahya said that Malik said; Someone who goes into ihram for hajj in Makka should delay tawaf of the House and the say between Safa and Marwa until he has come back from Mina; which is what Abdullah Ibn Umar used to do. Malik was asked what the people of Madina; or anybody else; should do about tawaf if they went into ihram in Makka at the beginning of Dhu AlHijja; and he said; They should delay the obligatory tawaf; which is the one they combine with the say between Safa and Marwa; but they can do whatever other tawaf they want to; and they should pray two rakas every time they complete seven tawafs; which is what the companions of the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; did when they had gone into ihram to do hajj. They delayed the tawaf of the House and the say between Safa and Marwa until they had come back from Mina. Abdullah Ibn Umar also did this; going into ihram for hajj in Makka at the beginning of Dhu AlHijja; and then delaying tawaf of theHouse and the say between Safa and Marwa until he had come back from Mina. Malik was asked whether one of the people of Makka could go into ihram to do umra in the centre of Makka; and he said; No. He should go outside the Haram and go into ihram there.
