SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1355 | Narrated Abu AlAswad: An army unit was being recruited from the people of Medina and my name was written among them. Then I met Ikrima; and when I informed him about it; he discouraged me very strongly and said; Ibn Abbas told me that there were some Muslims who were with the pagans to increase their number against Allah Messenger ﷺ and the Muslim army so arrows from the Muslim army would hit one of them and kill him or a Muslim would strike him with his sword and kill him. So Allah revealed:- Verily! As for those whom the angels take in death while they are wronging themselves by staying among the disbelievers. 4.97 | The Chapter on Idolaters And Infidels And Day Of Resurrections in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Whoever disliked to increase the number AlFitan and oppressions in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1375 | Narrated AlHasan AlBasri: When AlHasan Bin Ali moved with army units against Muawiya; Amr Bin AlAs said to Muawiya; I see an army that will not retreat unless and until the opposing army retreats. Muawiya said; If the Muslims are killed who will look after their children? Amr Bin AlAs said: I will look after them. On that; Abdullah Bin Amir and Abdulrahman Bin Samura said; Let us meet Muawaiya and suggest peace. AlHasan AlBasri added: No doubt; I heard that Abu Bakra said; Once while the Prophet was addressing the people ; AlHasan bin Ali came and the Prophet ﷺ said; This son of mine is a chief; and Allah may make peace between two groups of Muslims through him. | The Chapter on Almaghazi And Killing The Enemies And Pagans in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on This son of mine is a chief and Allah may make peace between two groups of Muslims through him in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1417 | Narrated Abu Mousa: The Prophet ﷺ said; My example and the example of what I have been sent with is that of a man who came to some people and said; O people! I have seen the enemy army with my own eyes; and I am the naked warner; so protect yourselves! Then a group of his people obeyed him and fled at night proceeding stealthily till they were safe; while another group of them disbelieved him and stayed at their places till morning when the army came upon them; and killed and ruined them completely So this is the example of that person who obeys me and follows what I have brought the Quran and the Sunna ; and the example of the one who disobeys me and disbelieves the truth I have brought. | The Chapter on Disobedience And Obligations in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Following the Sunna of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4432 | Narrated Aisha: the wife of the Prophet Whenever Allah Messenger ﷺ intended to go on a journey; he would draw lots amongst his wives and would take with him the one upon whom the lot fell. During a Ghazwa of his; he drew lots amongst us and the lot fell upon me; and I proceeded with him after Allah had decreed the use of the veil by women. I was carried in a Howdah on the camel and dismounted while still in it. When Allah Messenger ﷺ was through with his Ghazwa and returned home; and we approached the city of Medina; Allah Messenger ﷺ ordered us to proceed at night. When the order of setting off was given; I walked till I was past the army to answer the call of nature. After finishing I returned to the camp to depart with the others and suddenly realized that my necklace over my chest was missing. So; I returned to look for it and was delayed because of that. The people who used to carry me on the camel; came to my Howdah and put it on the back of the camel; thinking that I was in it; as; at that time; women were light in weight; and thin and lean; and did not use to eat much. So; those people did not feel the difference in the heaviness of the Howdah while lifting it; and they put it over the camel. At that time I was a young lady. They set the camel moving and proceeded on. I found my necklace after the army had gone; and came to their camp to find nobody. So; I went to the place where I used to stay; thinking that they would discover my absence and come back in my search. While in that state; I felt sleepy and slept. Safwan Bin Muattal AlSulami AlDhakwani was behind the army and reached my abode in the morning. When he saw a sleeping person; he came to me; and he used to see me before veiling. So; I got up when I heard him saying; Inna lil-lah-wa inn a ilaihi rajiun We are for Allah; and we will return to Him. He made his camel knell down. He got down from his camel; and put his leg on the front legs of the camel and then I rode and sat over it. Safwan set out walking; leading the camel by the rope till we reached the army who had halted to take rest at midday. Then whoever was meant for destruction; fell into destruction; some people accused me falsely and the leader of the false accusers was Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul. After that we returned to Medina; and I became ill for one month while the people were spreading the forged statements of the false accusers. I was feeling during my ailment as if I were not receiving the usual kindness from the Prophet ﷺ which I used to receive from him when I got sick. But he would come; greet and say; How is that girl ? I did not know anything of what was going on till I recovered from my ailment and went out with Um Mistah to the Manasi where we used to answer the call of nature; and we used not to go to answer the call of nature except from night to night and that was before we had lavatories near to our houses. And this habit of ours was similar to the habit of the old Arabs in the open country or away from houses. So. I and Um Mistah bint Ruhm went out walking. Um Mistah stumbled because of her long dress and on that she said; Let Mistah be ruined. I said; You are saying a bad word. Why are you abusing a man who took part in the battle of Badr? She said; O Hanata you there didnt you hear what they said? Then she told me the rumors of the false accusers. My sickness was aggravated; and when I returned home; Allah Messenger ﷺ came to me; and after greeting he said; How is that girl ? I requested him to allow me to go to my parents. I wanted then to be sure of the news through them I Allah Messenger ﷺ allowed me; and I went to my parents and asked my mother; What are the people talking about? She said; O my daughter! Dont worry much about this matter. By Allah; never is there a charming woman loved by her husband who has other wives; but the women would forge false news about her. I said; Glorified be Allah! Are the people really taking of this matter? That night I kept on weeping and could not sleep till morning. In the morning Allah Messenger ﷺ called Ali Bin Abu Talib and Usama Bin Zaid when he saw the Divine Inspiration delayed; to consul them about divorcing his wife i.e. Aisha. Usama Bin Zaid said what he knew of the good reputation of his wives and added; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Keep you wife; for; by Allah; we know nothing about her but good. Ali Bin Abu Talib said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Allah has no imposed restrictions on you; and there are many women other than she; yet you may ask the woman-servant who will tell you the truth. On that Allah Messenger ﷺ called Buraira and said; O Burair. Did you ever see anything which roused your suspicions about her? Buraira said; No; by Allah Who has sent you with the Truth; I have never seen in her anything faulty except that she is a girl of immature age; who sometimes sleeps and leaves the dough for the goats to eat. On that day Allah Messenger ﷺ ascended the pulpit and requested that somebody support him in punishing Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul. Allah Apostle said; Who will support me to punish that person Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul who has hurt me by slandering the reputation of my family? By Allah; I know nothing about my family but good; and they have accused a person about whom I know nothing except good; and he never entered my house except in my company. Saad Bin Muadh got up and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! by Allah; I will relieve you from him. If that man is from the tribe of the Aus; then we will chop his head off; and if he is from our brothers; the Khazraj; then order us; and we will fulfill your order. On that Saad Bin Ubada; the chief of the Khazraj and before this incident; he had been a pious man; got up; motivated by his zeal for his tribe and said; By Allah; you have told a lie; you cannot kill him; and you will never be able to kill him. On that Usaid Bin AlHadir got up and said to Saad Bin Ubada ; By Allah! you are a liar. By Allah; we will kill him; and you are a hypocrite; defending the hypocrites. On this the two tribes of Aus and Khazraj got excited and were about to fight each other; while Allah Messenger ﷺ was standing on the pulpit. He got down and quieted them till they became silent and he kept quiet. On that day I kept on weeping so much so that neither did my tears stop; nor could I sleep. In the morning my parents were with me and I had wept for two nights and a day; till I thought my liver would burst from weeping. While they were sitting with me and I was weeping; an Ansari woman asked my permission to enter; and I allowed her to come in. She sat down and started weeping with me. While we were in this state; Allah Messenger ﷺ came and sat down and he had never sat with me since the day they forged the accusation. No revelation regarding my case came to him for a month. He recited Tashah-hud i.e. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is His Apostle and then said; O Aisha! I have been informed such-and-such about you; if you are innocent; then Allah will soon reveal your innocence; and if you have committed a sin; then repent to Allah and ask Him to forgive you; for when a person confesses his sin and asks Allah for forgiveness; Allah accepts his repentance. When Allah Messenger ﷺ finished his speech my tears ceased completely and there remained not even a single drop of it. I requested my father to reply to Allah Messenger ﷺ on my behalf. My father said; By Allah; I do not know what to say to Allah Messenger ﷺ. I said to my mother; Talk to Allah Messenger ﷺ on my behalf. She said; By Allah; I do not know what to say to Allah Apostle. I was a young girl and did not have much knowledge of the Quran. I said. I know; by Allah; that you have listened to what people are saying and that has been planted in your minds and you have taken it as a truth. Now; if I told you that I am innocent and Allah knows that I am innocent; you would not believe me and if I confessed to you falsely that I am guilty; and Allah knows that I am innocent you would believe me. By Allah; I dont compare my situation with you except to the situation of Joseph father i.e. Jacob who said; So for me patience is most fitting against that which you assert and it is Allah Alone whose help can be sought. Then I turned to the other side of my bed hoping that Allah would prove my innocence. By Allah I never thought that Allah would reveal Divine Inspiration in my case; as I considered myself too inferior to be talked of in the Holy Quran. I had hoped that Allah Messenger ﷺ might have a dream in which Allah would prove my innocence. By Allah; Allah Apostle had not got up and nobody had left the house before the Divine Inspiration came to Allah Apostle. So; there overtook him the same state which used to overtake him; when he used to have; on being inspired divinely. He was sweating so much so that the drops of the sweat were dropping like pearls though it was a cold wintry day. When that state of Allah Messenger ﷺ was over; he was smiling and the first word he said; Aisha! Thank Allah; for Allah has declared your innocence. My mother told me to go to Allah Messenger ﷺ. I replied; By Allah I will not go to him and will not thank but Allah. So Allah revealed: Verily! They who spread the slander are a gang among you... 24.11 When Allah gave the declaration of my Innocence; Abu Bakr; who used to provide for Mistah Bin Uthatha for he was his relative; said; By Allah; I will never provide Mistah with anything because of what he said about Aisha. But Allah later revealed: - And let not those who are good and wealthy among you swear not to help their kinsmen; those in need and those who left their homes in Allah Cause. Let them forgive and overlook. Do you not wish that Allah should forgive you? Verily! Allah is Oft-forgiving; Most Merciful. 24.22 After that Abu Bakr said; Yes ! By Allah! I like that Allah should forgive me; and resumed helping Mistah whom he used to help before. Allah Messenger ﷺ also asked Zainab bint Jahsh i.e. the Prophet wife about me saying; What do you know and what did you see? She replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! I refrain to claim hearing or seeing what I have not heard or seen. By Allah; I know nothing except goodness about Aisha. Aisha further added Zainab was competing with me in her beauty and the Prophet love ; yet Allah protected her from being malicious ; for she had piety. | The Chapter on Parents Slander And Innocence in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The women attesting each other in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4657 | Narrated Anas: The Prophet ﷺ reached Khaibar in the morning; while the people were coming out carrying their spades over their shoulders. When they saw him they said; This is Muhammad and his army! Muhammad and his army! So; they took refuge in the fort. The Prophet ﷺ raised both his hands and said; Allahu Akbar; Khaibar is ruined; for when we approach a nation i.e. enemy to fight then miserable is the morning of the warned ones. Then we found some donkeys which we killed and cooked: The announcer of the Prophet ﷺ announced: Allah and His Apostle forbid you to eat donkey meat. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4936 | Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: Allah Messenger ﷺ sent an army towards the east coast and appointed Abu Ubaida Bin AlJarrah as their chief; and the army consisted of three-hundred men including myself. We marched on till we reached a place where our food was about to finish. Abu Ubaida ordered us to collect all the journey food and it was collected. My our journey food was dates. Abu Ubaida kept on giving us our daily ration in small amounts from it; till it was exhausted. The share of everyone of us used to be one date only. I said; How could one date benefit you? Jabir replied; We came to know its value when even that too finished. Jabir added; When we reached the sea-shore; we saw a huge fish which was like a small mountain. The army ate from it for eighteen days. Then Abu Ubaida ordered that two of its ribs be fixed and they were fixed in the ground. Then he ordered that a camel be ridden and it passed under the two ribs forming an arch without touching them. | The Chapter on Journeys And Travel And Almadinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on About sharing meals and the Nahd and Urud in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5393 | Narrated Aisha: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; An army will invade the Kaba and when the invaders reach AlBaida; all the ground will sink and swallow the whole army. I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! How will they sink into the ground while amongst them will be their markets the people who worked in business and not invaders and the people not belonging to them? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6546 | Narrated Sahl Bin Saad As Saidi: Allah Messenger ﷺ and his army encountered the pagans and the two armies.;; fought and then Allah Apostle returned to his army camps and the others i.e. the enemy returned to their army camps. Amongst the companions of the Prophet ﷺ there was a man who could not help pursuing any single isolated pagan to strike him with his sword. Somebody said; None has benefited the Muslims today more than so-and-so. On that Allah Messenger ﷺ said; He is from the people of the Hell-Fire certainly. A man amongst the people i.e. Muslims said; I will accompany him to know the fact. So he went along with him; and whenever he stopped he stopped with him; and whenever he hastened; he hastened with him. The brave man then got wounded severely; and seeking to die at once; he planted his sword into the ground and put its point against his chest in between his breasts; and then threw himself on it and committed suicide. On that the person who was accompanying the deceased all the time came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said; I testify that you are the Messenger of Allah. The Prophet ﷺ said; Why is that what makes you say so ? He said It is concerning the man whom you have already mentioned as one of the dwellers of the Hell-Fire. The people were surprised by your statement; and I said to them; I will try to find out the truth about him for you. So I went out after him and he was then inflicted with a severe wound and because of that; he hurried to bring death upon himself by planting the handle of his sword into the ground and directing its tip towards his chest between his breasts; and then he threw himself over it and committed suicide. Allah Messenger ﷺ then said; A man may do what seem to the people as the deeds of the dwellers of Paradise but he is from the dwellers of the Hell-Fire and another may do what seem to the people as the deeds of the dwellers of the Hell- Fire; but he is from the dwellers of Paradise. | The Chapter on Good Manners And Deeds in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Ghazwa of Khaibar in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6551 | Narrated Sahl: During one of his Ghazawat; the Prophet ﷺ encountered the pagans; and the two armies fought; and then each of them returned to their army camps. Amongst the army of the Muslims there was a man who would follow every pagan separated from the army and strike him with his sword. It was said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! None has fought so satisfactorily as so-and-so namely; that brave Muslim. The Prophet said; He is from the dwellers of the Hell-Fire. The people said; Who amongst us will be of the dwellers of Paradise if this man is from the dwellers of the Hell-Fire? Then a man from amongst the people said; I will follow him and accompany him in his fast and slow movements. The brave man got wounded; and wanting to die at once; he put the handle of his sword on the ground and its tip in between his breasts; and then threw himself over it; committing suicide. Then the man who had watched the deceased returned to the Prophet ﷺ and said; I testify that you are Apostle of Allah. The Prophet ﷺ said; What is this? The man told him the whole story. The Prophet ﷺ said; A man may do what may seem to the people as the deeds of the dwellers of Paradise; but he is of the dwellers of the Hell-Fire and a man may do what may seem to the people as the deeds of the dwellers of the Hell-Fire; but he is from the dwellers of Paradise. | The Chapter on Good Manners And Deeds in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Ghazwa of Khaibar in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6691 | Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: Allah Messenger ﷺ sent us who were three-hundred riders under the command of Abu Ubaida Bin AlJarrah in order to watch the caravan of the Quraish pagans. We stayed at the seashore for half a month and were struck with such severe hunger that we ate even the Khabt i.e. the leaves of the Salam; a thorny desert tree ; and because of that; the army was known as Jaish AlKhabt. Then the sea threw out; an animal i.e. a fish called AlAnbar and we ate of that for half a month; and rubbed its fat on our bodies till our bodies returned to their original state i.e. became strong and healthy. Abu Ubaida took one of its ribs; fixed it on the ground; then he went to the tallest man of his companions to let him pass under the rib. Once Sufyan said; He took a rib from its parts and fixed it; and then took a man and camel and they passed from underneath it without touching it. Jabir added: There was a man amongst the people who slaughtered three camels and then slaughtered another three camels and then slaughtered other three camels; and then Abu Ubaida forbade him to do so. Narrated Abu Salih: Qais Bin Saad said to his father. I was present in the army and the people were struck with severe hunger. He said; You should have slaughtered camels for them. Qais said; I did slaughter camels but they were hungry again. He said; You should have slaughtered camels again. Qais said; I did slaughter camels again but the people felt hungry again. He said; You should have slaughtered camels again. Qais said; I did slaughter camels again; but the people again felt hungry. He said; You should have slaughtered camels again. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-7064 | Narrated Aisha: The wife of the Prophet Whenever Allah Messenger ﷺ intended to go on a journey; he used to draw lots among his wives and would take with him the one on whom the lot had fallen. Once he drew lots when he wanted to carry out a Ghazwa; and the lot came upon me. So I proceeded with Allah Apostle after Allah order of veiling the women had been revealed and thus I was carried in my howdah on a camel and dismounted while still in it. We carried on our journey; and when Allah Apostle had finished his Ghazwa and returned and we approached Medina; Allah Messenger ﷺ ordered to proceed at night. When the army was ordered to resume the homeward journey; I got up and walked on till I left the army camp behind. When I had answered the call of nature; I went towards my howdah; but behold ! A necklace of mine made of Jaz Azfar a kind of black bead was broken and I looked for it and my search for it detained me. The group of people who used to carry me; came and carried my howdah on to the back of my camel on which I was riding; considering that I was therein. At that time women were light in weight and were not fleshy for they used to eat little food ; so those people did not feel the lightness of the howdah while raising it up; and I was still a young lady. They drove away the camel and proceeded. Then I found my necklace after the army had gone. I came to their camp but found nobody therein so I went to the place where I used to stay; thinking that they would miss me and come back in my search. While I was sitting at my place; I felt sleepy and slept. Safwan Bin AlMuattil AlSulami AlDhakw-ani was behind the army. He had started in the last part of the night and reached my stationing place in the morning and saw the figure of a sleeping person. He came to me and recognized me on seeing me for he used to see me before veiling. I got up because of his saying: Inna Li Allahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun; which he uttered on recognizing me. I covered my face with my garment; and by Allah; he did not say to me a single word except; Inna Li Allahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun; till he made his shecamel kneel down whereupon he trod on its forelegs and I mounted it. Then Safwan set out; leading the camel that was carrying me; till we met the army while they were resting during the hot midday. Then whoever was meant for destruction; fell in destruction; and the leader of the Ifk forged statement was Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul. After this we arrived at Medina and I became ill for one month while the people were spreading the forged statements of the people of the Ifk; and I was not aware of anything thereof. But what aroused my doubt while I was sick; was that I was no longer receiving from Allah Messenger ﷺ the same kindness as I used to receive when I fell sick. Allah Messenger ﷺ would enter upon me; say a greeting and add; How is that lady ? and then depart. That aroused my suspicion but I was not aware of the propagated evil till I recovered from my ailment. I went out with Um Mistah to answer the call of nature towards AlManasi; the place where we used to relieve ourselves; and used not to go out for this purpose except from night to night; and that was before we had lavatories close to our houses. And this habit of ours was similar to the habit of the old Arabs in the deserts or in the tents concerning the evacuation of the bowels; for we considered it troublesome and harmful to take lavatories in the houses. So I went out with Um Mistah who was the daughter of Abi Ruhm Bin Abd Manaf; and her mother was daughter of Sakhr Bin Amir who was the aunt of Abi Bakr AlSiddiq; and her son was Mistah Bin Uthatha. When we had finished our affair; Um Mistah and I came back towards my house. Um Mistah stumbled over her robe whereupon she said; Let Mistah be ruined ! I said to her; What a bad word you have said! Do you abuse a man who has taken part in the Battle of Badr? She said; O you there! Didnt you hear what he has said? I said; And what did he say? She then told me the statement of the people of the Ifk forged statement which added to my ailment. When I returned home; Allah Messenger ﷺ came to me; and after greeting; he said; How is that lady ? I said; Will you allow me to go to my parents? At that time I intended to be sure of the news through them. Allah Messenger ﷺ allowed me and I went to my parents and asked my mother; O my mother! What are the people talking about? My mother said; O my daughter! Take it easy; for by Allah; there is no charming lady who is loved by her husband who has other wives as well; but that those wives would find fault with her. I said; Subhan Allah! Did the people really talk about that? That night I kept on weeping the whole night till the morning. My tears never stopped; nor did I sleep; and morning broke while I was still weeping; Allah Messenger ﷺ called Ali Bin Abi Talib and Usama Bin Zaid when the Divine Inspiration delayed; in order to consult them as to the idea of divorcing his wife. Usama Bin Zaid told Allah Messenger ﷺ of what he knew about the innocence of his wife and of his affection he kept for her. He said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! She is your wife; and we do not know anything about her except good. But Ali Bin Abi Talib said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Allah does not impose restrictions on you; and there are plenty of women other than her. If you however; ask her slave girl; she will tell you the truth. Aisha added: So Allah Messenger ﷺ called for Barira and said; O Barira! Did you ever see anything which might have aroused your suspicion? as regards Aisha. Barira said; By Allah Who has sent you with the truth; I have never seen anything regarding Aisha which I would blame her for except that she is a girl of immature age who sometimes sleeps and leaves the dough of her family unprotected so that the domestic goats come and eat it. So Allah Messenger ﷺ got up and addressed the people an asked for somebody who would take revenge on Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul then. Allah Messenger ﷺ ; while on the pulpit; said; O Muslims! Who will help me against a man who has hurt me by slandering my family? By Allah; I know nothing except good about my family; and people have blamed a man of whom I know nothing except good; and he never used to visit my family except with me; Saad Bin Muadh AlAnsari got up and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Allah; I will relieve you from him. If he be from the tribe of Bani alaous then I will chop his head off; and if he be from our brethren; the Khazraj; then you give us your order and we will obey it. On that; Saad Bin Ubada got up; and he was the chief of the Khazraj; and before this incident he had been a pious man but he was incited by his zeal for his tribe. He said to Saad bin Muadh ; By Allah the Eternal; you have told a lie! You shall not kill him and you will never be able to kill him! On that; Usaid Bin Hudair; the cousin of Saad bin Muadh got up and said to Saad Bin Ubada; You are a liar! By Allah the Eternal; we will surely kill him; and you are a hypocrite defending the hypocrites! So the two tribes of alaous and AlKhazraj got excited till they were on the point of fighting with each other while Allah Messenger ﷺ was standing on the pulpit. Allah Messenger ﷺ continued quietening them till they became silent whereupon he became silent too. On that day I kept on weeping so much that neither did my tears stop; nor could I sleep. In the morning my parents were with me; and I had wept for two nights and a day without sleeping and with incessant tears till they thought that my liver would burst with weeping. While they were with me and I was weeping; an Ansari woman asked permission to see me. I admitted her and she sat and started weeping with me. While I was in that state; Allah Apostle came to us; greeted; and sat down;. He had never sat with me since the day what was said; was said. He had stayed a month without receiving any Divine Inspiration concerning my case. Allah Messenger ﷺ recited the Tashahhud after he had sat down; and then said; Thereafter; O Aisha! I have been informed such and-such a thing about you; and if you are innocent; Allah will reveal your innocence; and if you have committed a sin; then ask for Allah forgiveness and repent to Him; for when a slave confesses his sin and then repents to Allah; Allah accepts his repentance. When Allah Apostle had finished his speech; my tears ceased completely so that I no longer felt even a drop thereof. Then I said to my father; Reply to Allah Messenger ﷺ on my behalf as to what he said. He said; By Allah; I do not know what to say to Allah Messenger ﷺ. Then I said to my mother; Reply to Allah Apostle. She said; I do not know what to say to Allah Messenger ﷺ. Still a young girl as I was and though I had little knowledge of Quran; I said; By Allah; I know that you heard this story of the Ifk so much so that it has been planted in your minds and you have believed it. So now; if I tell you that I am innocent; and Allah knows that I am innocent; you will not believe me; and if I confess something; and Allah knows that I am innocent of it; you will believe me. By Allah; I cannot find of you an example except that of Joseph father: So for me patience is most fitting against that which you assert and it is Allah Alone Whose help can be sought. Then I turned away and lay on my bed; and at that time I knew that I was innocent and that Allah would reveal my innocence. But by Allah; I never thought that Allah would sent down about my affair; Divine Inspiration that would be recited forever ; as I considered myself too unworthy to be talked of by Allah with something that was to be recited: but I hoped that Allah Messenger ﷺ might have a vision in which Allah would prove my innocence. By Allah; Allah Messenger ﷺ had not left his seat and nobody had left the house when the Divine Inspiration came to Allah Messenger ﷺ. So there overtook him the same hard condition which used to overtake him when he was Divinely Inspired so that the drops of his sweat were running down; like pearls; though it was a cold winter day; and that was because of the heaviness of the Statement which was revealed to him. When that state of Allah Messenger ﷺ was over; and he was smiling when he was relieved; the first word he said was; Aisha; Allah has declared your innocence. My mother said to me; Get up and go to him. I said; By Allah; I will not go to him and I will not thank anybody but Allah. So Allah revealed: Verily! They who spread the Slander are a gang among you. Think it not.... 24.11-20. When Allah revealed this to confirm my innocence; Abu Bakr AlSiddiq who used to provide for Mistah Bin Uthatha because of the latter kinship to him and his poverty; said; By Allah; I will never provide for Mistah anything after what he has said about Aisha. So Allah revealed: continued... continuing... 1 : -6.274:...... Let not those among you who are good and are wealthy swear not to give help to their kinsmen; those in need; and those who have left their homes for Allah Cause. Let them Pardon and forgive i.e. do not punish them. Do you not love that should forgive you? Verily Allah is Oft-forgiving. Most Merciful. 24.22 Abu Bakr said; Yes; by Allah; I wish that Allah should forgive me. So he resumed giving Mistah the aid he used to give him before and said; By Allah; I will never withold it from him at all. Aisha further said: Allah Messenger ﷺ also asked Zainab bint Jahsh about my case. He said; O Zainab! What have you seen? She replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! I protect my hearing and my sight by refraining from telling lies. I know nothing but good about Aisha. Of all the wives of Allah Messenger ﷺ ; it was Zainab who aspired to receive from him the same favor as I used to receive; yet; Allah saved her from telling lies because of her piety. But her sister; Hamna; kept on fighting on her behalf so she was destroyed as were those who invented and spread the slander. | The Chapter on Parents Slander And Innocence in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari |

SahihMuslim-017-001-17525 | Abu Mousa reported: My friends sent me to Allah Messenger ﷺ asking him to provide them with mounts as they were going along with him in jaish AlUsrah the army of destitutes or of meagre means or army setting out during the hard times and that is the occasion of the expedition of Tabuk I said: Apostle of Allah; my friends have sent me to you so that you may provide them with mounts. He the Holy Prophet said: By Allah; I cannot provide you with anything to ride. And it so happened that he was at that time much perturbed. I little knew of it; so I came back with a heavy heart on account of the refusal of Allah Messenger ﷺ ; and the fear that Allah Messenger ﷺ might have some feelings against me. I returned to my friends and informed them about what Allah Messenger ﷺ had said. I had hardly stayed for a little that I heard Bilal calling: Abdullah Bin Qais. I responded to his call. He said: Hasten to Allah Messenger ﷺ ; he is calling you; When I came to the Prophet ﷺ he said: Take this pair; this pair; and this pair i. e. six camels which he had bought from Sad ; and take them to y; our friends and say: Verily Allah or he said: Verily Allah Messenger ﷺ has provided you with these animals. So ride upon them. Abu Mousa said: I went along with them to my friends and said: Verily Allah messenger ﷺ has provided you with these animals for riding; but by Allah; I shall not leave you until some of you go along with me to him who had heard the talk of Allah Messenger ﷺ then I asked him for you; and his refusal for the first time; and then his granting them to me subsequently; so you should not think that I narrated to you something which he did not say. They said to me: By Allah; in our opinion you are certainly truthful; and we would do as you like. So Abu Mousa went along withsome of the menfrom them until they came to those who had heard the words of Allah Messenger may; ﷺ and his refusal to provide them with animals ; and subsequently his granting the animals to them; and they narrated to them exactly as Abu Masa had narrated to them. | The Chapter on Military Expedition And Almadinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 3 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18428 | It is narrated either on the authority of Abu Huraira or that of Abu Saeed Khudri. The narrator Amash has narrated this hadith with a little bit of doubt about the name of the very first narrator who was in direct contact with the Holy Prophet. He was either Abu Huraira or Abu Saeed Khudri. Both are equally reliable transmitters of the traditions. He the narrator said: During the time of Tabuk expedition; the provisions ran short and the men of the army suffered starvation; they said: Messenger of Allah; would you permit us to slay our camels? We would eat them and use their fat. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Do as you please. He the narrator said: Then Umar came there and said: Messenger of Allah; if you do that if you give your consent and the men begin to slay their camels ; the riding animals would become short. But I would suggest you to summon them along with the provisions left with them Then invoke Allah blessings on them different items of the provisions It is hoped Allah shall bless them. The Messenger of Allah replied in the affirmative. the narrator said: He called for a leather mat to be used as a table cloth and spread it out. Then he called people along with the remaining portions of their provisions. He the narrator said: Someone was coming with handful of mote; another was coming with a handful of dates; still another was coming with a portion of bread; till small quantities of these things were collected on the table cloth. He the narrator said : Then the messenger of Allah invoked blessing on them and said: Fill your utensils with these provisions. He the narrator said: They filled their vessel to the brim with them; and no one amongst the army which comprised of 30;000 persons was left even with a single empty vessel. He the narrator aid: They ate to their fill; and there was still a surplus. Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remarked: I bear testimony that there is no god but Allah and I am the messenger of Allah. The man who meets his Lord without harboring any doubt about these two truths would never be kept away from Paradise. | The Chapter on Pulpit And Khutba And Preaching Charity in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 10 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18567 | It is narrated by Safwan Bin Muhriz that Jundab Bin Abdullah AlBajali during the stormy days of Ibn AlZubair sent a message to Asas Bin Salama: Gather some men of your family so that I should talk to them. He Asas sent a messenger to them to the members of his family. When they had assembled; Jundab came there with a yellow hooded cloak on him; He said: Talk what you were busy in talking. The talk went on by turns; till there came his Jundabs turn. He took off the hooded cloak from his head and said: I have come to you with no other intention but to narrate to you a hadith of your Apostle: Verily the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a squad of the Muslims to a tribe of the polytheists. Both the armies confronted one another. There was a man among the army of polytheists who was so dashing that ; whenever he intended to kill a man from among the Muslims; he killed him. Amongst the Muslims too was a man looking forward to an opportunity of his the polytheists unmindfulness. He the narrator said: We talked that he was Usama b; Zaid. When he raised his sword; he the soldier of the polytheists uttered: There is no god but Allah; but he Usama Bin Zaid killed him. When the messenger of the glad tidings came to the Apostle ﷺ he asked him about the events of the battle and he informed him about the man Usama and what he had done He the Prophet of Allah called for him and asked him why he had killed him. He Usama said: Messenger of Allah; he struck the Muslims and killed such and such of them. And he even named some of them. He continued : I attacked him and when he saw the sword he said: There is no god but Allah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Did you kill him? He Usama replied in the affirmative. He the Holy Prophet remarked: What would you do with: There is no god but Allah; when he would come before you on the Day of Judgment? He Usama said: Messenger of Allah; beg pardon for me from your Lord. He the Holy Prophet said: What would you do with: There is no god but Allah when he would come before you on the Day of Judgment? He the Holy Prophet added nothing to it but kept saying: What would you do with: There is no god but Allah; when he would come before you on the Day of Judgment? | The Chapter on Horses And Battels in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 41 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18595 | It is reported on the authority of Sahl Bin Saad AlSaidi that there was an encounter between the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the polytheists; and they fought against one another. At the conclusion of the battle the Messenger of Allah ﷺ bent his steps towards his army and they the enemies bent their steps towards their army. And there was a person his name was Quzman and he was one of the hypocrites among the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who did not spare a detached fighter of the enemy but pursued and killed him with the sword. They the Companions of the Holy Prophet said: None served us better today than this man Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remarked: Verily he is one of the denizens of Fire. One of the people Muslims said: I will constantly shadow him. Then this man went out along with him. He halted whenever he halted; and ran along with him whenever he ran. He the narrator said: The man was seriously injured. He could not stand the pain and hastened his own death. He placed the blade of the sword on the ground with the tip between his chest and then pressed himself against the sword and killed himself. Then the man following him went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: I bear testimony that verily thou art the Messenger of Allah; He the Holy Prophet said: What is the matter? He replied: The person about whom you just mentioned that he was one among the denizens of Fire and the people were surprised at this and I said to them that I would bring the news about him and consequently I went out in search of him till I found him to be very seriously injured. He hastened his death. He placed the blade of the sword upon the ground and its tip between his chest and then pressed himself against that and killed himself. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remarked: A person performs the deeds which to the people appear to be the deeds befitting the dweller of Paradise; but he is in fact one of the denizens of Hell. And verily a person does an act which in the eyes of public is one which is done by the denizens of Hell; but the person is one among the dwellers of Paradise. | The Chapter on Lost And Found And The Companions in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 47 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18899 | Iyad Bin Him-ar reported that Allah Messenger ﷺ ; while delivering a sermon one day; said: Behold; my Lord commanded me that I should teach you which you do not know and which He has taught me today. He has instructed thus : The property which I have conferred upon them is lawful for them. I have created My servants as one having a natural inclination to the worship of Allah but it is Satan who turns them away from the right religion and he makes unlawful what has been declared lawful for them and he commands them to ascribe partnership with Re; although he has no justification for that. And verily; Allah looked towards the people of the world and He showed hatred for the Arabs and the non-Arabs; but with the exception of some remnants from the People of the Book. And He further said: I have sent thee the Holy Prophet in order to put you to test and put those to test through you. And I sent the Book to you which cannot be washed away by water; so that you may recite it while in the state of wakefulness or sleep. Verily; Allah commanded me to burn kill the Quraish. I said: My Lord; they would break my head like the tearing of bread; and Allah said: You turn them out as they turned you out; you fight against them and We shall help you in this; you should spend and you would be conferred upon. You send an army and I would send an army five times greater than that. Fight against those who disobey you along with those who obey you. The inmates of Paradise are three: One who wields authority and is just and fair; one who Is truthful and has been endowed with power to do good deeds. And the person who is merciful and kind hearted towards his relatives and to every pious Muslim; and one who does not stretch his hand in spite of having a large family to support. And He said: The inmates of Hell are five: the weak who lack power to avoid evil ; the carefree who pursue everything irrespective of the fact that it is good or evil and who do not have any care for their family or for their wealth. And those dishonest whose greed cannot be concealed even in the case of minor things. And the third. who betray you. morning and evening; in regard to your family and your property. He also made a mention of the miser and the liar and those who are in the habit of abusing people and using obscene and foul language. Abu Ghassan in his narration did not make mention of Spend and there would be spent for you. | The Chapter on Contracts And Disputes In Land in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 16 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-19110 | Harith b Abi Rabia and Abdullah Bin Safwan both went to Umm Salamah; the Mother of the Faithful; and they asked her about the army which would be sunk in the earth; and this relates to the time when Ibn AlZubair was the governor of Mecca. She reported that Allah Messenger ﷺ had said that a seeker of refuge would seek refuge in the Sacred House and an army would be sent to him in order to kill him and when it would enter a plain ground; it would be made to sink. I said: Allah Messenger; what about him who would be made to accompany this army willy nilly? SahihMuslim-017-001-19148 | Abu Huraira reported Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying: The Last Hour would not come until the Romans would land at AlAmaq or in Dabiq. An army consisting of the best soldiers of the people of the earth at that time will come from Medina to counteract them. When they will arrange themselves in ranks; the Romans would say: Do not stand between us and those Muslims who took prisoners from amongst us. Let us fight with them; and the Muslims would say: Nay; by Allah; we would never get Aasi de from you and from our brethren that you may fight them. They will then fight and a third part of the army would run away; whom Allah will never forgive. A third part of the army which would be constituted of excellent martyrs in Allah eye; would be killed and the third who would never be put to trial would win and they would be conquerors of Constantinople. And as they would be busy in distributing the spoils of war amongst themselves after hanging their swords by the olive trees; the Satan would cry: The Dajjal has taken your place among your family. They would then come out; but it would be of no avail. And when they would come to Syria; he would come out while they would be still preparing themselves for battle drawing up the ranks. Certainly; the time of prayer shall come and then Jesus ﷺ son of Mary would descend and would lead them in prayer. When the enemy of Allah would see him; it would disappear just as the salt dissolves itself in water and if he Jesus were not to confront them at all; even then it would dissolve completely; but Allah would kill them by his hand and he would show them their blood on his lance the lance of Jesus Christ. | The Chapter on Almaghazi And Killing The Enemies And Pagans in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 9 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-19965 | Abu Mousa reported Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying: The similitude of mine and of that with which Allah sent me is that of a person who came to us and said: O people; I have seen an army with my eyes and I am a plain warner and issue you warning that you should immediately manage to find an escape. A group of people from amongst them paying heed to his warning fled to a place of protection and a group amongst them belied him and the morning overtook them in their houses and the army attacked them and killed them and they were routed. SahihMuslim-017-001-22103 | Zaid Bin Wahb Juhani reported and he was among the squadron which was under the command of Ali Allah be pleased with him and which set out to curb the activities of the Khawarij. Ali Allah be pleased with him said: O people; I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: There would arise from my Ummah a people who would recite the Quran; and your recital would seem insignificant as compared with their recital; your prayer as compared with their prayer; and your fast; as compared with their fast. They would recite the Quran thinking that it supports them; whereas it is an evidence against them. Their prayer does not get beyond their collar bone; they would swerve through Islam just as the arrow passes through the prey. If the squadron which is to encounter them were to know what great boon has been assured to them by their Messenger ﷺ they would completely rely upon this deed alone and cease to do other good deeds ; and their that of the Khawarij distinctive mark is that there would be among them a person whose wrist would be without the arm; and the end of his wrist would be fleshy like the nipple of the breast on which there would be white hair. You would be marching towards Muawiya and the people of Syria and you would leave them behind among your children and your property to do harm. By Allah; I believe that these are the people against whom you have been commanded to fight and get reward for they have shed forbidden blood; and raided the animals of the people. So go forth in the name of Allah to fight against them. Salama Bin Kuhail mentioned that Zaid Bin Wahb made me alight at every stage; till we crossed a bridge. Abdullah Bin Wahb AlRasibi was at the head of the Khawarij when we encountered them. He Abdullah said to his army: Throw the spears and draw out your swords from their sheaths; for I fear that they would attack you as they attacked you on the day of Harura. They went back and threw their spears and drew out their swords; and people fought against them with spears and they were killed one after another. Only two persons were killed among the people among the army led by Ali on that day. Ali Allah be pleased with him said: Find out from among them the dead bodies of the Khawarij the maimed. They searched but did not find him. Ali Allah be pleased with him then himself stood up and walked till he came to the people who had been killed one after another. He Ali said: Search them to the last; and then Ali companions found him the dead body of the maimed near the earth. He Ali then pronounced Allahu Akbar Allah is the Greatest and then said; Allah told the Truth and His Messenger ﷺ conveyed it. Then there stood before him Abida Salmani who said: Commander of the Believers; by Allah; besides Whom there is no god but He; tell me whether you heard this hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. SunanAlNasai-017-001-12392 | It was narrated that Jabir said: The Messenger of Allah sent us with Abu Ubaidah and we numbered over three hundred men. He supplied us with a sack of dates and gave them out by the handful. When he ran short; he gave us one date at a time; until we used to suck on it like an infant; and we would drink water with it. When we ran out of them it became very difficult for us. We used to hit the Khabat leaves with our bows to knock them down and swallow them; then drink water with it. We became known as Jaish AlKhabat the Khabat army. Then; when we were about to turn inland; we saw a beast like a hill; caloled AlAnbar. Abu Ubaidah said: It is dead meat; do not eat it. Then he said: The army of the Messenger of Allah in the cause of Allah; the Mighty and Sublime; and we are forced by necessity; eat in the name of Allah. So we arte from it and we made some if it into jerked meat. Thirteen men could sit in its eye-socket. Abu Ubaidah took one of its ribs and seated a man on the biggest camel that the people had; and they passed beneath it. When we came to the Messenger of Allah; he said: What kept you so long? We said: The Quraish and we told him about the beast. He said: That is provision that Allah granted to you. Do you have anything of it with you? Some men responded and affirmed that. He said: By Allah; I adjure a man who heard the Messenger of Allah say; on the day of the army of AlUsrah i.e. Tabuk : Who will spend and it will be accepted? And I equipped half of the army from my own wealth. Some men responded and affirmed that. Then he said: By Allah; I adjure a man who heard the Messenger of Allah say: Who will add to this Masjid in return for a house in Paradise; and I bought it with my own wealth. Some men responded and affirmed that. Then he said: By Allah; I adjure a man who witness Rumah being sold; and I bought it from my own wealth and allowed wayfarers to use it. SunanAlNasai-017-001-15500 | It was narrated that Jabir Bin Abdullah said: In his Khutbah the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to praise Allah as He deserves to be praised; then he would say: Whomsoever Allah SWT guides; none can lead him astray; and whomsoever Allah sends astray; none can guide. The truest of word is the Book of Allah and best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The worst of things are those that are newly invented; every newly-invented thing is an innovation and every innovation is going astray; and every going astray is in the Fire. Then he said: The Hour and I have been sent like these two. Whenever he mentioned the Hour; his cheeks would turn red; and he would raise his voice and become angry; as if he were warning of an approaching army and saying: An army is coming to attack you in the morning; or in the evening! Then he said : Whoever leaves behind wealth; it is for his family; and whoever leaves behind a debt or dependents; then these are my responsibility; and I am the most entitled to take care of the believers. | The Chapter on Supplications And Fear in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on How the Khutbah is to be delivered in Sunan AlNasai |

SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25985 | Salamah Bin Kuhail said: Zaid Bin Wahb AlJuhani told us that he was in the army which proceeded to fight with the Khawarij in the company of Ali. Ali then said: O people! I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: there will appear from among my community people who recite the Quran; and your recitation has no comparison with their recitation; and your prayer has no comparison with their prayer; and your fasts have no comparison with their fasts. They will recite the Quran thinking that it is beneficial for them; while it is harmful for them. Their prayer will not pass their collar-bones. They will swerve from Islam as an arrow goes through the animal shot at. If the army that is approaching them knows what reward has been decided for them at the tongue of their Prophet ﷺ ; they would leave other good activities. The sign of that is that among them there will be a man who has an upper arm; but not hand; on his upper arm there will be something like the nipple of a female breast; having white hair thereon. Will you go to Muawiyah and the people of Syria; and leave them behind among your children and property? I swear by Allah; I hope these are the same people; for they shed the blood unlawfully; and attacked the cattle of the people so go on in the name of Allah. Salamah Bin Kuhail said: Zaid Bin Wahb then informed me of all the halting places one by one; saying : Until we passed a bridge. When we fought with each other; Abdullah Bin Wahb AlRasibi; who was the leader of the Khawarij; said to them: Throw away the lances and pull out the swords from their sheaths; for I am afraid they will adjure you as they had adjured on the day of Harura. So they threw away their lances and pulled out their swords; and the people pierced them with their lances. They were killed lying one on the other. On that day only two persons of the partisans of Ali were afflicted. Ali said: Search for the man with the crippled hand. But they could not find him. Then Ali got up himself and went to the people who had been killed and were lying on one another. He said: Take them out. They found him just near the ground. So he shouted: Allah is Most Great! He said: Allah spoke the truth; and His Apostle has conveyed. Ubaidat AlSalmani stood up to him; saying: Commander of the Faithful! Have you heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? He said: Yes; by him; there is no God but He. He put to swear thrice and he swore. | The Chapter on Horses Islam And Alquran in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Fighting Against The Khawarij in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29275 | Narrated A man from the companions of the Prophet: Abdulrahman Ibn Kaab Ibn Malik reported on the authority of a man from among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ : The infidels of the Quraysh wrote a letter to Ibn Ubay and to those who worshipped idols from alaous and AlKhazraj; while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was at that time at Medina before the battle of Badr. They wrote : You gave protection to our companion. We swear by Allah; you should fight him or expel him; or we shall come to you in full force; until we kill your fighters and appropriate your women. When this news reached Abdullah Ibn Ubay and those who were worshippers of idols; with him they gathered together to fight the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When this news reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; he visited them and said: The threat of the Quraysh to you has reached its end. They cannot contrive a plot against you; greater than what you yourselves intended to harm you. Are you willing to fight your sons and brethren? When they heard this from the Prophet ﷺ ; they scattered. This reached the infidels of the Quraysh. The infidels of the Quraysh again wrote a letter to the Jews after the battle of Badr: You are men of weapons and fortresses. You should fight our companion or we shall deal with you in a certain way. And nothing will come between us and the anklets of your women. When their letter reached the Prophet ﷺ ; they gathered Banu AlNadir to violate the treaty. They sent a message to the Prophet ﷺ : Come out to us with thirty men from your companions; and thirty rabbis will come out from us till we meet at a central place where they will hear you. If they testify to you and believe in you; we shall believe in you. The narrator then narrated the whole story. When the next day came; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out in the morning with an army; and surrounded them. He told them: I swear by Allah; you will have no peace from me until you conclude a treaty with me. But they refused to conclude a treaty with him. He therefore fought them the same day. Next he attacked Banu Quraysh with an army in the morning; and left Banu AlNadir. He asked them to sign a treaty and they signed it. He turned away from them and attacked Banu AlNadir with an army. He fought with them until they agreed to expulsion. Banu AlNadir were deported; and they took with them whatever their camels could carry; that is; their property; the doors of their houses; and their wood. Palm-trees were exclusively reserved for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Allah bestowed them upon him and gave them him as a special portion. He Allah ; the Exalted; said: What Allah has bestowed on His Apostle and taken away from them; for this ye made no expedition with either camel corps or cavalry. He said: Without fighting. So the Prophet ﷺ gave most of it to the emigrants and divided it among them; and he divided some of it between two men from the helpers; who were needy; and he did not divide it among any of the helpers except those two. The rest of it survived as the sadaqah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ which is in the hands of the descendants of Fatimah Allah be pleased with her. | The Chapter on Military Expedition And Quraish in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding The Incidents With AlNadir in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29646 | Narrated Abdullah Ibn Umar: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat on his camel to go out on a journey; he said: Allah is Most Great three times. Then he said: Glory be to Him Who has made subservient to us; for we had not the strength for it; and to our Lord do we return. O Allah; we ask Thee in this journey of ours; uprightness; piety and such deeds as are pleasing to Thee. O Allah; make easy for us this journey of ours and make its length short for us. O Allah; Thou art the Companion in the journey; and the One Who looks after the family and property in our absence. When he returned; he said these words adding: Returning; repentant; serving and praising our Lord. The Prophet ﷺ and his armies said: Allah is Most Great when they went up to high ground; and when armies said: Allah is most Great when they went up to high ground; and when they descended; they said: Glory be to Allah. So the prayer was patterned on that. | The Chapter on Journeys And Travel And The Rider in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on What A Man Should Say When Setting Out On A Journey in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29766 | Awuf Bin malik AlAshjaI said I went out with Zaid Bin Harith in the battle of Mutah. For the reinforcement of the Muslim army a man from the people of Yemen accompanied me. He had only his sword with him. A man from the Muslims slaughtered a Camel. The man for the reinforcement asked him for a part of its skin which he gave him. He made it like the shape of a shield. We went on and met the Byzantine armies. There was a man among them on a reddish horse with a golden saddle and golden weapons. This Byzantinian soldiers began to attack the Muslims desperately. The man for reinforcement sat behind a rock for attacking him. He hamstrung his horse and overpowered him and then killed him. He took his horse and weapons. When Allah; Most High; bestowed victory on the Muslims. Khalid Bin AlWalid sent for him and took his spoils. Awuf said I came to him and said Khalid; do you know that the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ had decided to give spoils to the killer? He said Yes; I thought it abundant. I said You should return it to him; or I shall tell you about it before the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ. But he refused to return it. Awuf said We then assembled with the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ. I told him the story of the man of reinforcement and what Khalid had done. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said Khalid; what made you do the work you have done? He said Apostle of Allaah ﷺ ; I considered it to be abundant. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said Khalid; return it to him what you have taken from him. Awuf said I said to him here you are; Khalid. Did I not keep my word? The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said What is that? I then informed him. He said The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ became angry and said Khalid; do not return it to him. MuwataMalik-017-001-34722 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Wahb Ibn Kaysan that Jabir Ibn Abdullah said; The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; sent a delegation to the coast. Abu Ubayda Ibn AlJarrah was in command of them. There were 300 people and I was among them. We went out until we had gone part of the way and our provisions were finished. Abu Ubayda ordered that the provisions of the army be gathered up and they amounted to two containers of dates. He used to give us a little provision from it each day until it was finished; and we used to have only a single date each. I said; What use is one date? He said; We will certainly feel its loss when they are finished. Jabir continued; Then we reached the sea and there was a fish like a small mountain. The army ate from it for eighteen nights. Then Abu Ubayda ordered two ribs from it to be set up. Then he commanded that a camel be ridden underneath them and it did not touch them. | The Chapter on Throwing And Satan Knots in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Purity in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-34998 | Malik related to me from Zayd Ibn Aslam that his father said; Abdullah and Ubaydullah; the sons of Umar Ibn AlKhattab went out with the army to Iraq. On the way home; they passed by Abu Mousa AlAshari who was the amir of Basra. He greeted them and made them welcome; and told them that if there was anything he could do to help them; he would do it. Then he said; There is some of the property of Allah which I want to send to the amir Almuminin; so I will lend it to you; and you can buy wares from Iraq and sell them in Madina. Then give the principal to the amir Almuminin; and you keep the profit. They said that they would like to do it; and so he gave them the money and wrote to Umar Ibn AlKhattab to take the money from them. When they came to sell they made a profit; and when they paid the principal to Umar he asked; Did he lend everyone in the army the like of what he lent you? They said; No. Umar Ibn AlKhattab said; He made you the loan; because you are the sons of the amir Almuminin; so pay the principal and the profit. Abdullah was silent. Ubaydullah said; You do not need to do this; amir Almuminin. Had the principal decreased or been destroyed; we would have guaranteed it. Umar said; Pay it. Abdullah was silent; and Ubaydullah repeated it. A man who was sitting with Umar said; Amir Almuminin; better that you make it a qirad. Umar said; I have made it qirad. Umar then took the principal and half of the profit; and Abdullah and Ubaydullah; the sons of Umar Ibn AlKhattab took half of the profit. | The Chapter on Financial Transactions And Loans in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Dress in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35419 | Yahya related to me from Malik from a man of Kufa that Umar Ibn AlKhattab wrote to a lieutenant of an army which he had sent out; I have heard that it is the habit of some of your men to chase an unbeliever till he takes refuge in a high place. Then one man tells him in Persian not to be afraid; and when he comes up to him; he kills him. By He in whose hand my self is; if I knew someone who had done that; I would strike off his head. Yahya said; I heard Malik say; This tradition is not unanimously agreed upon; so one does not act on it. Malik when asked whether safe conduct promised by gesture had the same status as that promised by speech; said; Yes. I think that one can request an army not to kill someone by gesturing for safe conduct; because as far as I am concerned; gesture has the same status as speech. I have heard that Abdullah Ibn Abbas said; There is no people who betray a pledge; but that Allah gives their enemies power over them. | The Chapter on Hand Gestures Pointing in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Jihad in Muwata Malik |
