SahihMuslim-017-001-18036 | It has been narrated on the authority of Salama Bin AlAkwa who said: We fought against the Fazara; and Abu Bakr was the commander over us. He had been appointed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When we were only at an hour distance from the water of the enemy; Abu Bakr ordered us to attack. We made a halt during the last part of the night to rest and then we attacked from all sides and reached their watering-place where a battle was fought. Some of the enemies were killed and some were taken prisoners. I saw a group of persons that consisted of women and children. I was afraid lest they should reach the mountain before me; so I shot an arrow between them and the mountain. When they saw the arrow; they stopped. So I brought them; driving them along. Among them was a woman from Banu Fazara. She was wearing a leather coat. With her was her daughter who was one of the prettiest girls in Arabia. I drove them along until I brought them to Abu Bakr who bestowed that girl upon me as a prize. So we arrived in Medina. I had not yet disrobed her when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ met me in the street and said: Give me that girl; O Salama. I said: Messenger of Allah; she has fascinated me. I had not yet disrobed her. When on the next day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ again met me in the street; he said: O Salama; give me that girl; may God bless your father. I said: She is for you; Messenger of Allah! By Allah. I have not yet disrobed her. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent her to the people of Mecca; and surrendered her as ransom for a number of Muslims who had been kept as prisoners at Mecca. | The Chapter on Almadinah And Angels In Alghazawat in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 14 in Sahih Muslim

We attacked that tribe early in the morning and defeated them and I and a man from the Ansar caught hold of a person of the defeated tribe. When we overcame him; he said: There is no god but Allah. At that moment the Ansari spared him; but I attacked him with my spear and killed him. The news had already reached the Apostle ﷺ ; so when we came back he the Apostle said to me: Usama; did you kill him after he had made the profession: There is no god but Allah? I said. Messenger of Allah; he did it only as a shelter. The Prophet observed: Did you kill him after he had made the profession that there is no god but Allah? He the Holy Prophet went on repeating this to me till I wished I had not embraced Islam before that day. | The Chapter on Horses And Battels in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 41 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-19154 | Nafi Bin Utba reported: We were with Allah Messenger ﷺ in an expedition that there came a people to Allah Apostle ﷺ from the direction of the west. They were dressed in woollen clothes and they stood near a hillock and they met him as Allah Messenger ﷺ was sitting. I said to myself: Better go to them and stand between him and them that they may not attack him. Then I thought that perhaps there had been going on secret negotiation amongst them. I however; went to them and stood between them and him and I remember four of the words on that occasion which I repeat on the fingers of my hand that he Allah Messenger said: You will attack Arabia and Allah will enable you to conquer it; then you would attack Persia and He would make you to conquer it. Then you would attack Rome and Allah will enable you to conquer it; then you would attack the Dajjal and Allah will enable you to conquer him. SahihMuslim-017-001-22103 | Zaid Bin Wahb Juhani reported and he was among the squadron which was under the command of Ali Allah be pleased with him and which set out to curb the activities of the Khawarij. Ali Allah be pleased with him said: O people; I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: There would arise from my Ummah a people who would recite the Quran; and your recital would seem insignificant as compared with their recital; your prayer as compared with their prayer; and your fast; as compared with their fast. They would recite the Quran thinking that it supports them; whereas it is an evidence against them. Their prayer does not get beyond their collar bone; they would swerve through Islam just as the arrow passes through the prey. If the squadron which is to encounter them were to know what great boon has been assured to them by their Messenger ﷺ they would completely rely upon this deed alone and cease to do other good deeds ; and their that of the Khawarij distinctive mark is that there would be among them a person whose wrist would be without the arm; and the end of his wrist would be fleshy like the nipple of the breast on which there would be white hair. You would be marching towards Muawiya and the people of Syria and you would leave them behind among your children and your property to do harm. By Allah; I believe that these are the people against whom you have been commanded to fight and get reward for they have shed forbidden blood; and raided the animals of the people. So go forth in the name of Allah to fight against them. Salama Bin Kuhail mentioned that Zaid Bin Wahb made me alight at every stage; till we crossed a bridge. Abdullah Bin Wahb AlRasibi was at the head of the Khawarij when we encountered them. He Abdullah said to his army: Throw the spears and draw out your swords from their sheaths; for I fear that they would attack you as they attacked you on the day of Harura. They went back and threw their spears and drew out their swords; and people fought against them with spears and they were killed one after another. Only two persons were killed among the people among the army led by Ali on that day. Ali Allah be pleased with him said: Find out from among them the dead bodies of the Khawarij the maimed. They searched but did not find him. Ali Allah be pleased with him then himself stood up and walked till he came to the people who had been killed one after another. He Ali said: Search them to the last; and then Ali companions found him the dead body of the maimed near the earth. He Ali then pronounced Allahu Akbar Allah is the Greatest and then said; Allah told the Truth and His Messenger ﷺ conveyed it. Then there stood before him Abida Salmani who said: Commander of the Believers; by Allah; besides Whom there is no god but He; tell me whether you heard this hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: Yes; by Allah; besides Whom there is no god but He. We saw a wild ass and Abu Qatada attacked it and cut off its hind legs. We got down and ate its meat and we thus ate the meat of a game while we were In the state of Ihram. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29766 | Awuf Bin malik AlAshjaI said I went out with Zaid Bin Harith in the battle of Mutah. For the reinforcement of the Muslim army a man from the people of Yemen accompanied me. He had only his sword with him. A man from the Muslims slaughtered a Camel. The man for the reinforcement asked him for a part of its skin which he gave him. He made it like the shape of a shield. We went on and met the Byzantine armies. There was a man among them on a reddish horse with a golden saddle and golden weapons. This Byzantinian soldiers began to attack the Muslims desperately. The man for reinforcement sat behind a rock for attacking him. He hamstrung his horse and overpowered him and then killed him. He took his horse and weapons. When Allah; Most High; bestowed victory on the Muslims. Khalid Bin AlWalid sent for him and took his spoils. Awuf said I came to him and said Khalid; do you know that the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ had decided to give spoils to the killer? He said Yes; I thought it abundant. I said You should return it to him; or I shall tell you about it before the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ. But he refused to return it. Awuf said We then assembled with the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ. I told him the story of the man of reinforcement and what Khalid had done. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said Khalid; what made you do the work you have done? He said Apostle of Allaah ﷺ ; I considered it to be abundant. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said Khalid; return it to him what you have taken from him. Awuf said I said to him here you are; Khalid. Did I not keep my word? The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said What is that? I then informed him. He said The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ became angry and said Khalid; do not return it to him. Are you going to leave my commanders? You may take from them what is best for you and eave to them what is worst. | The Chapter on Horses And Battels in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding The Imam Denying The Spoils Salab To The Person Who Killed If He Sees Fit To And The Horse And Weapon Are Parts Of The Spoils Salab in Sunan Abu Dawoud |

Yahya said that he heard Malik speak about a camel who attacked a man and he feared for himself and killed it or hamstrung it. He said; If he has a clear proof that it was heading for him and had attacked him; there are no damages against him. MuwataMalik-017-001-35824 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that Umar Ibn AlKhattab told people to kill snakes in the Haram. Malik said; about the wild dogs which people were told to kill in the Haram; that any animals that wounded; attacked; or terrorised men; such as lions; leopards; Iynxes and wolves; were counted aswild dogs. However; someone who was in ihram should not kill beasts of prey that did not attack people ; such as hyenas; foxes; cats and anything else like them; and if he did then he had to pay a forfeit for it. Similarly; someone in ihram should not kill any predatory birds except the kinds that the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; specified; namely crows and kites. If someone in ihram killed any other kind of bird he had to pay a forfeit for it. | The Chapter on Killing In The State Of Ihram in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Hajj in Muwata Malik |
