SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6344 | Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Messenger ﷺ sent out ten spies under the command of Aasi m Bin Thabit AlAnsari; the grand-father of Aasi m Bin Umar AlKhattab. When they reached a place called AlHadah between Usfan and Mecca; their presence was made known to a sub-tribe of Hudhail called Banu Lihyan. So they sent about one hundred archers after them. The archers traced the footsteps of the Muslims till they found the traces of dates which they had eaten at one of their camping places. The archers said; These dates are of Yathrib i.e. Medina ; and went on tracing the Muslims footsteps. When Aasi m and his companions became aware of them; they took refuge in a high place. But the enemy encircled them and said; Come down and surrender. We give you a solemn promise and covenant that we will not kill anyone of you. Aasi m Bin Thabit said; O people! As for myself; I will never get down to be under the protection of an infidel. O Allah! Inform your Prophet about us. So the archers threw their arrows at them and martyred Aasi m. Three of them came down and surrendered to them; accepting their promise and covenant and they were Khubaib; Zaid Bin AlDathina and another man. When the archers got hold of them; they untied the strings of the arrow bows and tied their captives with them. The third man said; This is the first proof of treachery! By Allah; I will not go with you for I follow the example of these. He meant the martyred companions. The archers dragged him and struggled with him till they martyred him. Then Khubaib and Zaid Bin AlDathina were taken away by them and later on they sold them as slaves in Mecca after the event of the Badr battle. The sons of AlHarit Bin Amr Bin Nawfal bought Khubaib for he was a person who had killed their father AlHari Bin Amr on the day of the battle of Badr. Khubaib remained imprisoned by them till they decided unanimously to kill him. One day Khubaib borrowed from a daughter of AlHarith; a razor for shaving his pubic hair; and she lent it to him. By chance; while she was inattentive; a little son of hers went to him i.e. Khubaib and she saw that Khubaib had seated him on his thigh while the razor was in his hand. She was so much terrified that Khubaib noticed her fear and said; Are you afraid that I will kill him? Never would I do such a thing. Later on while narrating the story she said; By Allah; I had never seen a better captive than Khubaib. By Allah; one day I saw him eating from a bunch of grapes in his hand while he was fettered with iron chains and at that time there was no fruit in Mecca. She used to say; It was food Allah had provided Khubaib with. When they took him to AlHil out of Mecca sanctuary to martyr him; Khubaib requested them. Allow me to offer a two-rakat prayer. They allowed him and he prayed two rakat and then said; By Allah! Had I not been afraid that you would think I was worried; I would have prayed more. Then he invoked evil upon them saying; O Allah! Count them and kill them one by one; and do not leave anyone of them Then he recited: As I am martyred as a Muslim; I do not care in what way I receive my death for Allah Sake; for this is for the Cause of Allah. If He wishes; He will bless the cut limbs of my body. Then Abu Sarva; Ubqa Bin AlHarith went up to him and killed him. It was Khubaib who set the tradition of praying for any Muslim to be martyred in captivity before he is executed. The Prophet ﷺ told his companions of what had happened to those ten spies on the same day they were martyred. Some Quraish people; being informed of Aasi m Bin Thabit death; sent some messengers to bring a part of his body so that his death might be known for certain; for he had previously killed one of their leaders in the battle of Badr. But Allah sent a swarm of wasps to protect the dead body of Aasi m; and they shielded him from the messengers who could not cut anything from his body. | The Chapter on Military Expedition Martyrs in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Military Expeditions led by the Prophet AlMaghaazi in Sahih AlBukhari

So when we intended to do coitus interrupt us; we said; How can we do coitus interruptus before asking Allah Messenger ﷺ who is present among us? We asked him about it and he said; It is better for you not to do so; for if any soul till the Day of Resurrection is predestined to exist; it will exist. | The Chapter on Ramadan And Fasting And Kabah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Ghazwa of Banu AlMustaliq or the Ghazwa of AlMuraisi in Sahih AlBukhari

So choose one of two alternatives: Either the captives or the properties. I have been waiting for you i.e. have not distributed the booty. Allah Messenger ﷺ had delayed the distribution of their booty over ten nights after his return from Taif. So when they came to know that Allah Messenger ﷺ was not going to return to them but one of the two; they said; We prefer to have our captives. So Allah Messenger ﷺ got up amongst the Muslims; and praising Allah as He deserved; said; To proceed! Your brothers have come to you with repentance and I see it logical to return their captives. The Prophet ﷺ rode and Abu Talha rode too and I was riding behind Abu Talha. The Prophet ﷺ passed through the lane of Khaibar quickly and my knee was touching the thigh of the Prophet ﷺ. He uncovered his thigh and I saw the whiteness of the thigh of the Prophet. When he entered the town; he said; Allahu Akbar! Khaibar is ruined. Whenever we approach near a hostile nation to fight then evil will be the morning of those who have been warned. He repeated this thrice. The people came out for their jobs and some of them said; Muhammad has come. Some of our companions added; With his army. We conquered Khaibar; took the captives; and the booty was collected. Dihya came and said; O Allah Prophet! Give me a slave girl from the captives. The Prophet said; Go and take any slave girl. He took Safiya bint Huyai. A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ s! You gave Safiya bint Huyai to Dihya and she is the chief mistress of the tribes of Quraidha and AlNadir and she befits none but you. So the Prophet ﷺ said; Bring him along with her. So Dihya came with her and when the Prophet ﷺ saw her; he said to Dihya; Take any slave girl other than her from the captives. Anas added: The Prophet ﷺ then manumitted her and married her. Thabit asked Anas; O Abu Hamza! What did the Prophet ﷺ pay her as Mahr ? He said; Her self was her Mahr for he manumitted her and then married her. Anas added; While on the way; Um Sulaim dressed her for marriage ceremony and at night she sent her as a bride to the Prophet ﷺ. He said: What did your captive do? He said: She swore that she would not return. So he said: She lied and she will come again to lie. So he caught her and said: I shall not let you go until you accompany me to the Prophet ﷺ. She said: I shall tell you something: If you recite Ayat AlKursi in your home; then no Shaitan; nor any other shall come near you. So he went to the Prophet ﷺ and he said: What did your captive do? He said: I informed him of what she said; and he said: She told the truth and she is a continuous liar. | The Chapter on Games And Hunting And Cutting in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Chapters on The Virtues of the Quran in Sunan AlTermithi

SunanAlNasai-017-001-14585 | It was narrated from Anas: The Messenger of Allah invaded Khaibar and we prayed AlGhadah Fajr there early in the morning when it was still dark. Then the Prophet rode and Abu Talha rode; and I was riding behind Abu Talha. The Prophet of Allah passed through the lane of Khaibar quickly; and my knee was touching the thigh of the Messenger of Allah; and I could see the whiteness of the thigh of the Prophet. When he entered the town he said: Allahu Akbar; Khaibar is destroyed! Whenever we approach a hostile nation to fight; evil will be the morning for those who have been warned. He said this three times. The people came out for their work. One of the narrators Abd AlAziz said: They said: Muhammad has come ! Abd AlAziz said: Some of our companions said: With his army. We conquered Khaibar and gathered the captives. Dihyah came and said: O Prophet of Allah; give me a slave girl from among the captives. He said: Go and take a slave girl. He took Safiyah bint Huyay. Then a man came to the Prophet and said: O Messenger of Allah; you gave Dihyah Safiyah bint Huyay; and she is the chief mistress of Quraidha h and AlNadir; and she is fit for no one but you. He said: Call him to bring her. When the Prophet saw her; he said: Take any other slave girl from among the captives. He said: The Prophet of Allah set her free and married her. One of the narrators Thabit said to him: O Abu Hamzah; what dowry did he give her? He Anas said: Herself; he set her free and married her. He said: While on the road; Umm Sulaim fitted her out and presented her to him in the night; and the following morning he was a bridegroom. He said: Whoever has anything; let him bring it. He spread out a leather cloth and men came with cottage cheese; dates; and ghee; and they made Hais; and that was the Walimah wedding feast of the Messenger of Allah. | The Chapter on Almaghazi And Khaibar in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Consummation Of Marriage While Travelling in Sunan AlNasai |

SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-24994 | Abu Said AlKhudri said The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ sent a military expedition to Awtas on the occasion of the battle of Hunain. They met their enemy and fought with them. They defeated them and took them captives. Some of the Companions of Apostle of Allaah ﷺ were reluctant to have relations with the female captives because of their pagan husbands. So; Allaah the exalted sent down the Quranic verse And all married women are forbidden unto you save those captives whom your right hand posses. This is to say that they are lawful for them when they complete their waiting period. | The Chapter on Almaghazi And Ransoms in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding Intercourse With Captives in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-28581 | Imran Bin Hosain said: Adba belonged to a man of Banu Aqil. It used to go ahead of pligrims. The man was then captivated. He was brought in chains to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ was riding on a donkey with a blanket on him. He said: Muhammad; why do you arrest me and capture the one i.e. the camel which goes ahead of the pilgrims. He replied: We are arresting you on account of the crime committed by your allies Thaqid. Thaqif captivated two persons from among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ. He said whatever he said I am a Muslim; or he said: I have embraced Islam. When the Prophet ﷺ went ahead; he called him: O Muhammed; O Muhammed. Abu Dawud said: I learnt it from the version of the narrator Muhammad Bin Isa. The Prophet ﷺ was compassionate and kind hearted. So he returned to him; and asked: What is the matter with you ? He replied: I am a Muslim. He said: Had you said it when the matter was in your hand; you would have succeeded completely. Abu Dawud said: I then returned to the version of the narrator Sulaiman Bin Harb. He said: Muhammad; I am hungry; so feed me. I am thirsty; so give me water. The Prophet ﷺ said: This is your need; or he said: This is his need the narrator is doubtful. Later on the man was taken back by Thaqif as a ransom for the two men of the Companions of the Prophet. The Prophet ﷺ retained Adba for his journey. The narrator said: The polytheists raided the pasturing animals of Medina and they took away Adba. When they took away Adba; they also captivated a Muslim woman. They used to leave their camels in the fields for rest at night. One night they slept and the Muslim woman stood up. Any camel on which she put her hand brayed until she came to Adba. She came to a camel which was docile and experienced. She then rode on her and vowed to Allah that if He saved her; she would sacrifice it. When she came to Medina; the people recognized the camel of the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ was then informed about it and he sent for her. She was brought to him and she informed him about her vow. He said: It is a bad return that you have given it. Allah has not saved you; on its back that you now sacrifice it. A vow to do an act of disobedience must not be fulfilled; or to do something over which one has no control.Abu Dawud said: This woman was the wife of Abu Dharr. | The Chapter on Camels And Herdsmen And Holiness in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on A Vow Concerning What One Does Not Possess in Sunan Abu Dawoud

SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29258 | Umm AlHakam or Dubaah daughters of AlZibair Bin Abd AlMuttalib said Some captives of war were brought to the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ. I and my sister Fatimah; daughter of Apostle of Allaah ﷺ went to the Prophet and complained to him about our existing condition. We asked him to order to give us some captives. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said the orphans of the people who were killed in the battle of Badr came before you and they asked for the captives. But I tell you something better than that. You should utter Allaah is Most Great after each prayer thirty three times; Glory be to Allaah thirty three times; Praise be to Allaah thirty three times and there is no god but Allaah alone; He has no associate; the Kingdom belongs to Him and praise is due to Him and He has power over all things. The narrator Ayash said They were daughters of Uncle of the Prophet ﷺ. | The Chapter on Booties Of Almaghazi in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Division Of The Khumus And The Share Of His Relatives in Sunan Abu Dawoud

SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29740 | Marwan and AlMiswar Bin Makhramah told that when the deputation of the Hawazin came to the Muslims and asked the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ to return to them their property; the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said to them with me are those whom you see. The speech dearest to me is the one which is true; so choose one of the two either the captives or the property. They said We choose our captives. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ stood up; extolled Allaah and then said To proceed; your brethren have come repentant I have considered that I should return their captives to them; so let those of you who are willing to release the captives act accordingly; but those who wish to hold on to what they have till we give them some of the first booty Allaah gives us may do so. The people said We are willing for that to release their captives ; Apostle of Allaah. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said We cannot distinguish between those of you who have granted that and those who have not ; so return till your headmen may tell us about your affair. The people then returned and their headmen spoke to them; then they informed that they were agreeable and had given their permission. | The Chapter on Almaghazi And Returning Property in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding Ransoming Captives With Wealth in Sunan Abu Dawoud |
