- It was narrated from Amir Bin Saad Bin Abi Waqqas that his father said: The Prophet SAWSYMOBOL gave a share of some spoils of war to some men and not to others. Saad said: O Messenger of Allah SAWSYMOBOL; you gave to so-and-so and so-and-so; but you did not give anything to so-and-so; and he is a believer. The Prophet SAWSYMOBOL said: Or a Muslim; until Saad had repeated it three times; and the Prophet SAWSYMOBOL said: I give to some men; and leave those who are dearer to me; without giving them anything; lest the former be thrown into Hell on their faces. SunanAlNasai-017-001-11888
- Abu Huraira said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: The parable of Mujahid who strives in the cause of Allah - and Allah knows best who strives in teh cause of Allah - is that of one who fasts and prays Qiyam continually. Allah has promised Mujahid who strives in His cause ; that He will either cause him to die and admit him to paradise; or; He will bring him back safely with whatever he had earned of reward or spoils of war. SunanAlNasai-017-001-14633
- Narrated AlBara: We faced the pagans on that day of the battle of Uhud and the Prophet ﷺ placed a batch of archers at a special place and appointed Abdullah bin Jubair as their commander and said; Do not leave this place; if you should see us conquering the enemy; do not leave this place; and if you should see them conquering us; do not come to help us; So; when we faced the enemy; they took to their heels till I saw their women running towards the mountain; lifting up their clothes from their legs; revealing their leg-bangles. The Muslims started saying; The booty; the booty! Abdullah Bin Jubair said; The Prophet ﷺ had taken a firm promise from me not to leave this place. But his companions refused to stay. So when they refused to stay there ; Allah confused them so that they could not know where to go; and they suffered seventy casualties. Abu Sufyan ascended a high place and said; Is Muhammad present amongst the people? The Prophet ﷺ said; Do not answer him. Abu Sufyan said; Is the son of Abu Quhafa present among the people? The Prophet ﷺ said; Do not answer him. Abu Sufyan said; Is the son of AlKhattab amongst the people? He then added; All these people have been killed; for; were they alive; they would have replied. On that; Umar could not help saying; You are a liar; O enemy of Allah! Allah has kept what will make you unhappy. Abu Sufyan said; Superior may be Hubal! On that the Prophet said to his companions ; Reply to him. They asked; What may we say? He said; Say: Allah is More Elevated and More Majestic! Abu Sufyan said; We have the idol AlUzza; whereas you have no Uzza! The Prophet ﷺ said to his companions ; Reply to him. They said; What may we say? The Prophet ﷺ said; Say: Allah is our Helper and you have no helper. Abu Sufyan said; This day compensates for our loss at Badr and in the battle the victory is always undecided and shared in turns by the belligerents. You will see some of your dead men mutilated; but neither did I urge this action; nor am I sorry for it. Narrated Jabir: Some people took wine in the morning of the day of Uhud and were then killed as martyrs. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6394
- Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Badr: He who does such-and-such; will have such-and such. The young men came forward and the old men remained standing near the banners; and they did not move from there. When Allah bestowed victory on them; the old men said: We were support for you. If you had been defeated; you would have returned to us. Do not take this booty alone and we remain deprived of it. The young men refused to give ; and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has given it to us. Then Allah sent down: They ask thee concerning things taken as spoils of war; Say: Such spoils are at the disposal of Allah and the Apostle......Just as they Lord ordered thee out of thy house in truth; even though a party among the believers disliked it. This proved good for them. Similarly obey me. I know the consequence of this better than you. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29784
- Narrated AlBara Bin Azib: The Prophet ﷺ appointed Abdullah Bin Jubair as the commander of the infantry men archers who were fifty on the day of the battle of Uhud. He instructed them; Stick to your place; and dont leave it even if you see birds snatching us; till I send for you; and if you see that we have defeated the infidels and made them flee; even then you should not leave your place till I send for you. Then the infidels were defeated. By Allah; I saw the women fleeing lifting up their clothes revealing their leg-bangles and their legs. So; the companions of Abdullah Bin Jubair said; The booty! O people; the booty ! Your companions have become victorious; what are you waiting for now? Abdullah Bin Jubair said; Have you forgotten what Allah Messenger ﷺ said to you? They replied; By Allah! We will go to the people i.e. the enemy and collect our share from the war booty. But when they went to them; they were forced to turn back defeated. At that time Allah Messenger ﷺ in their rear was calling them back. Only twelve men remained with the Prophet ﷺ and the infidels martyred seventy men from us. On the day of the battle of Badr; the Prophet ﷺ and his companions had caused the Pagans to lose 140 men; seventy of whom were captured and seventy were killed. Then Abu Sufyan asked thrice; Is Muhammad present amongst these people? The Prophet ﷺ ordered his companions not to answer him. Then he asked thrice; Is the son of Abu Quhafa present amongst these people? He asked again thrice; Is the son of AlKhattab present amongst these people? He then returned to his companions and said; As for these men ; they have been killed. Umar could not control himself and said to Abu Sufyan ; You told a lie; by Allah! O enemy of Allah! All those you have mentioned are alive; and the thing which will make you unhappy is still there. Abu Sufyan said; Our victory today is a counterbalance to yours in the battle of Badr; and in war the victory is always undecided and is shared in turns by the belligerents; and you will find some of your killed men mutilated; but I did not urge my men to do so; yet I do not feel sorry for their deed After that he started reciting cheerfully; O Hubal; be high! 1 On that the Prophet ﷺ said to his companions ; Why dont you answer him back? They said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ What shall we say? He said; Say; Allah is Higher and more Sublime. Then Abu Sufyan said; We have the idol AlUzza; and you have no Uzza. - Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: The Prophet ﷺ said; A time will come when the people will wage holy war; and it will be asked; Is there any amongst you who has enjoyed the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ ? They will say: Yes. And then victory will be bestowed upon them. They will wage holy war again; and it will be asked: Is there any among you who has enjoyed the company of the companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ ? They will say: Yes. And then victory will be bestowed on them. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3941
- It has been narratedon the authority of Abu Ishaq who said: A man asked Bara Bin Azib : Did you run away on the Day of Hunain. O; Abu Umira? He said: No; by Allah; The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not turn his back; what actually happened was that some young men from among his companions; who were hasty and who were either without any arms or did not have abundant arms; advanced and met a party of archers who were so good shots that their arrows never missed the mark. This party of archers belonged to Banu Hawazin and Banu Nadir. They shot at the advancing young men and their arrows were not likely to miss their targets. So these young men turned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was riding on his white mule and Abu Sufyan Bin AlHarith Bin Abd AlMuttalib was leading him. At this he got down from his mule; invoked God help; and called out: I am the Prophet. This is no untruth. I am the son of Abd AlMuttalib. Then he deployed his men into battle array. SahihMuslim-017-001-18079
- It was narrated from Abu Huraira that the Prophet ﷺ said that Allah said : For every good deed that the son of Adam does; he will have the reward of ten the like thereof; except for fasting. It is for Me and I shall reward for it. SunanAlNasai-017-001-15192
- Narrated AlBara Bin Azib: Allah Messenger ﷺ sent a group of Ansari men to kill Abu Rafi. One of them set out and entered their i.e. the enemies fort. That man said; I hid myself in a stable for their animals. They closed the fort gate. Later they lost a donkey of theirs; so they went out in its search. I; too; went out along with them; pretending to look for it. They found the donkey and entered their fort. And I; too; entered along with them. They closed the gate of the fort at night; and kept its keys in a small window where I could see them. When those people slept; I took the keys and opened the gate of the fort and came upon Abu Rafi and said; O Abu Rafi. When he replied me; I proceeded towards the voice and hit him. He shouted and I came out to come back; pretending to be a helper. I said; O Abu Rafi; changing the tone of my voice. He asked me; What do you want; woe to your mother? I asked him; What has happened to you? He said; I dont know who came to me and hit me. Then I drove my sword into his belly and pushed it forcibly till it touched the bone. Then I came out; filled with puzzlement and went towards a ladder of theirs in order to get down but I fell down and sprained my foot. I came to my companions and said; I will not leave till I hear the wailing of the women. So; I did not leave till I heard the women bewailing Abu Rafi; the merchant pf Hijaz. Then I got up; feeling no ailment; and we proceeded till we came upon the Prophet ﷺ and informed him. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4688

- Narrated Abu Ishaq: A man asked AlBara; O Abu Umara! Did you all flee on the day of the battle of Hunain? He replied; No; by Allah! Allah Messenger ﷺ did not flee; but his young unarmed companions passed by the archers of the tribe of Hawazin and Bani Nasr whose arrows hardly missed a target; and they threw arrows at them hardly missing a shot. So the Muslims retreated towards the Prophet ﷺ while he was riding his white mule which was being led by his cousin Abu Sufyan Bin AlHarith Bin Abdul Muttalib. The Prophet ﷺ dismounted and invoked Allah for victory; then he said; I am the Prophet; without a lie; I am the son of Abdul Muttalib; and then he arranged his companions in rows. - Narrated Umar Bin AlKhattab: The wealth of Banu AlNadir was among the spoils of war which Allah granted upon His Messenger ﷺ which the Muslims did not gain with the rush of their horses nor camel. So it was purely for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would set Aasi de a year worth of expenditure for his family; then he would use what remained of it for horses and weapons to be used in Allah cause.[Abu Eisa said:] This Hadith isHassan Sahih.
