SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1821 | Narrated Salama Bin AlAkwa: We went out with the Prophet ﷺ to Khaibar. A man among the people said; O Amir! Will you please recite to us some of your poetic verses? So Amir got down and started chanting among them; saying; By Allah! Had it not been for Allah; we would not have been guided. Amir also said other poetic verses which I do not remember. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Who is this camel driver? The people said; He is Amir Bin AlAkwa; He said; May Allah bestow His Mercy on him. A man from the People said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Would that you let us enjoy his company longer. When the people Muslims lined up; the battle started; and Amir was struck with his own sword by chance by himself and died. In the evening; the people made a large number of fires for cooking meals. Allah Apostle said; What is this fire? What are you making the fire for? They said; For cooking the meat of donkeys. He said; Throw away what is in the pots and break the pots! A man said; O Allah Prophet! May we throw away what is in them and wash them? He said; Never mind; you may do so. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1921 | Narrated Abu Hazim: Sahl said; We used to feel happy on Fridays. I asked Sahl; Why? He said; There was an old woman of our acquaintance who used to send somebody to Budaa Ibn Maslama said; Budaa was a garden of date-palms at Medina. She used to pull out the silq a kind of vegetable from its roots and put it in a cooking pot; adding some powdered barley over it and cook it. After finishing the Jumua Friday prayer we used to pass by her and greet her; whereupon she would present us with that meal; so we used to feel happy because of that. We used to have neither a midday nap; nor meals; except after the Friday prayer. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2663 | Narrated Salama Bin AlAqwa: We went out with Allah Messenger ﷺ to Khaibar and we travelled during the night. A man amongst the people said to Amir Bin AlAqwa; Wont you let us hear your poetry? Amir was a poet; and so he got down and started chanting Huda reciting for the people; poetry that keep pace with the camel foot steps; saying; O Allah! Without You we would not have been guided on the right path; neither would we have given in charity; nor would we have prayed. So please forgive us what we have committed. Let all of us be sacrificed for Your cause and when we meet our enemy; make our feet firm and bestow peace and calmness on us and if they our enemy will call us towards an unjust thing we will refuse. The infidels have made a hue and cry to ask others help against us. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Who is that driver of the camels ? They said; He is Amir Bin AlAqwa. He said; May Allah bestow His mercy on him. A man among the people said; Has Martyrdom been granted to him; O Allah Prophet! Would that you let us enjoy his company longer. We reached the people of Khaibar and besieged them till we were stricken with severe hunger but Allah helped the Muslims conquer Khaibar. In the evening of its conquest the people made many fires. Allah Messenger ﷺ asked; What are those fires? For what are you making fires? They said; For cooking meat. He asked; What kind of meat? They said; Donkeys meat. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Throw away the meat and break the cooking pots. A man said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Shall we throw away the meat and wash the cooking pots? He said; You can do that too. When the army files aligned in rows for the battle ; Amir sword was a short one; and while attacking a Jew with it in order to hit him; the sharp edge of the sword turned back and hit Amir knee and caused him to die. When the Muslims returned from the battle ; Salama said; Allah Messenger ﷺ saw me pale and said; What is wrong with you? I said; Let my parents be sacrificed for you! The people claim that all the deeds of Amir have been annulled. The Prophet ﷺ asked; Who said so? I replied; So-and-so and soand- so and Usaid Bin AlHudair AlAnsari said; Whoever says so is telling a lie. Verily; Amir will have double reward. While speaking the Prophet ﷺ put two of his fingers together to indicate that; and added; He was really a hard-working man and a Mujahid devout fighter in Allah Cause and rarely have there lived in it i.e.; Medina or the battle-field an Arab like him. | The Chapter on Animal Sacrifice Meat in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on What kinds of poetry Rajaz and Huda is allowed in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2792 | Narrated Rafi Bin Khadeej: We were with the Prophet ﷺ in Dhu AlHulaifa and there the people were struck with severe hunger. Then we got camels and sheep as war booty and slaughtered them. The Prophet ﷺ was behind all the people. The people hurried and fixed the cooking pots for cooking but the Prophet ﷺ came there and ordered that the cooking pots be turned upside down. Then he distributed the animals; regarding ten sheep as equal to one camel. One of the camels ran away and there were a few horses with the people. They chased the camel but they got tired; whereupon a man shot it with an arrow whereby Allah stopped it. The Prophet ﷺ said; Among these animals some are as wild as wild beasts; so if one of them runs away from you; treat it in this way. I said. We hope; or we are afraid that tomorrow we will meet the enemy and we have no knives; shall we slaughter our animals with canes? The Prophet ﷺ said; If the killing tool causes blood to gush out and if Allah Name is mentioned; eat of the slaughterer animal. But do not slaughter with a tooth or a nail. I am telling you why: A tooth is a bone; and the nail is the knife of Ethiopians. | The Chapter on Animal Sacrifice Knifes Nails And Tooth in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Mentioning Allah Name on slaughtering an animal in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2837 | Narrated Rafi Bin Khadeej: I said to the Prophet; We will be facing the enemy tomorrow and we have no knives for slaughtering He said; If you slaughter the animal with anything that causes its blood to flow out; and if Allah Name is mentioned on slaughtering it; eat of it; unless the killing instrument is a tooth or nail. I will tell you why: As for the tooth; it is a bone; and as for the nail; it is the knife of Ethiopians. The quick ones among the people got the war booty while the Prophet ﷺ was behind the people. So they placed the cooking pots on the fire; but the Prophet ﷺ ordered the cooking pots to be turned upside down. Then he distributed the war booty among them; considering one camel as equal to ten sheep. Then a camel belonging to the first party of people ran away and they had no horses with them; so a man shot it with an arrow whereby Allah stopped it. The Prophet ﷺ said; Of these animals there are some which are as wild as wild beasts. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3081 | Narrated Qasim Bin Muhammad: Three traditions have been established because of Barira: Aisha intended to buy her and set her free; but Barira masters said; Her wala will be for us. Aisha mentioned that to Allah Messenger ﷺ who said; You could accept their condition if you wished; for the wala is for the one who manumits the slave. Barira was manumitted; then she was given the choice either to stay with her husband or leave him; One day Allah Messenger ﷺ entered Aisha house while there was a cooking pot of food boiling on the fire. The Prophet ﷺ asked for lunch; and he was presented with bread and some extra food from the home-made Udm e.g. soup. He asked; Dont I see meat being cooked ? They said; Yes; O Allah Apostle! But it is the meat that has been given to Barira in charity and she has given it to us as a present. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3489 | Narrated Aisha: Three principles were established because of Barira: i When Banra was manumitted she was given the option to remain with her slave husband or not. ii Allah Messenger ﷺ said The Wala of the slave is for the one who manumits the slave. iii When Allah Messenger ﷺ entered the house ; he saw a cooking pot on the fire but he was given bread and meat soup from the soup of the home. The Prophet ﷺ said; Didnt I see the cooking pot on the fire ? It was said; That is the meat given in charity to Barira; and you do not eat the things given in charity. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4738 | Narrated Abaya Bin Rifaa: My grandfather; Rafi said; We were in the company of the Prophet ﷺ at DhulHulaifa; and the people suffered from hunger. We got some camels and sheep as booty and the Prophet ﷺ was still behind the people. They hurried and put the cooking pots on the fire. When he came he ordered that the cooking pots should be upset and then he distributed the booty amongst the people regarding ten sheep as equal to one camel then a camel fled and the people chased it till they got tired; as they had a few horses for chasing it. So a man threw an arrow at it and caused it to stop with Allah Permission. On that the Prophet ﷺ said; Some of these animals behave like wild beasts; so; if any animal flee from you; deal with it in the same way. My grandfather asked the Prophet ﷺ ; We hope or are afraid that we may meet the enemy tomorrow and we have no knives. Can we slaughter our animals with canes? Allah Messenger ﷺ replied; If the instrument used for killing causes the animal to bleed profusely and if Allah Name is mentioned on killing it; then eat its meat i.e. it is lawful but wont use a tooth or a nail and I am telling you the reason: A tooth is a bone and slaughtering with a bone is forbidden ; and a nail is the slaughtering instrument of the Ethiopians. | The Chapter on Animal Sacrifice Knifes Nails And Tooth in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Not to slaughter the camels and sheep of the booty before distribution in Sahih AlBukhari

The Prophet ﷺ said in reply to their saying; O Allah! There is no goodness except the goodness of the Hereafter; so please grant Your Blessing to the Ansar and the Emigrants. The people used to bring a handful of barley; and a meal used to be prepared thereof by cooking it with a cooking material i.e. oil; fat and butter having a change in color and smell and it used to be presented to the people i.e. workers who were hungry; and it used to stick to their throats and had a nasty smell. | The Chapter on Alansar And Brotherhood in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Ghazwa of AlKhandaq or AlAhzab Battle in Sahih AlBukhari

We went to the Prophet ﷺ and said; Here is a rock appearing across the trench. He said; I am coming down. Then he got up; and a stone was tied to his belly for we had not eaten anything for three days. So the Prophet ﷺ took the spade and struck the big solid rock and it became like sand. I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Allow me to go home. When the Prophet ﷺ allowed me I said to my wife; I saw the Prophet ﷺ in a state that I cannot treat lightly. Have you got something for him to eat? She replied; I have barley and a she goat. So I slaughtered the kid and she ground the barley; then we put the meat in the earthenware cooking pot. Then I came to the Prophet ﷺ when the dough had become soft and fermented and the meat in the pot over the stone trivet had nearly been well-cooked; and said; I have got a little food prepared; so get up O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; you and one or two men along with you for the food. The Prophet ﷺ asked; How much is that food? I told him about it. He said; It is abundant and good. Tell your wife not to remove the earthenware pot from the fire and not to take out any bread from the oven till I reach there. Then he said to all his companions ; Get up. So the Muhajirn i.e. Emigrants and the Ansar got up. When I came to my wife; I said; Allah Mercy be upon you! The Prophet came along with the Muhajirin and the Ansar and those who were present with them. She said; Did the Prophet ﷺ ask you how much food you had ? I replied; Yes. Then the Prophet ﷺ said; Enter and do not throng. The Prophet ﷺ started cutting the bread into pieces and put the cooked meat over it. He covered the earthenware pot and the oven whenever he took something out of them. He would give the food to his companions and take the meat out of the pot. He went on cutting the bread and scooping the meat for his companions till they all ate their fill; and even then; some food remained. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27006 | Ali said to Ibn Abad : should I not tell you about me and about Fatimah; daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She was dearest to him of his family. When she was with me; she pulled mill-stone which affected her hand; she carried water with the water-bag which affected the upper portion of her chest: She swept the house so much so that her clothes became dusty; and she cooked food by which her clothes became black; and it harmed her. We heard that some slaves had been brought to the prophet ﷺ. I said: if you go to your father and ask him for a servant; that will be sufficient for you. She came to him and found some people talking to him. She felt shy and returned. Next morning he visited us when we were in our quilt. He sat beside her head; and she took her head into the quilt out of shame from her father. He asked: What need had you with me; O family of Muhammad? She kept silence twice. I then said : I swear by Allah; I shall tell you. She pulls the mile-stone which has affected her hand; she carrys water with the water-bag which has affected the upper portion of her chest; she sweeps the house by which her clothes have become dusty; and she cooks food by which her clothes have become black. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29176 | Narrated Rafi Bin Khadeej: I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: Messenger of Allah; we shall meet the enemy tomorrow and we have no knives with us. May we kill with a sharp-edged white stone flint and with splinter of a staff ? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Hasten in slaughtering it. When Allah name is mentioned you may eat what is killed by anything which causes the blood to flow except tooth and claw. I shall tell you about it. The tooth is a bone; and the claw is the knife of Abyssinians. Some people hastened and went forward; they made haste and got booty; while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in the rear and they setup cooking pots. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by over the cooking pots. He ordered to turn them over. He then divided the spoils of war between them; and gave them a camel for ten goats in equation. One of the camels of the people ran away; and they had no horses with them at that time. A man shot an arrow at it; and Allah prevented it from escaping. The Prophet ﷺ said: Among animals i.e. camels there are some which bolt like wild animals ; so when any of them does so; do with it like this. | The Chapter on Animal Sacrifice Knifes Nails And Tooth in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Slaughtering With Marwah in Sunan Abu Dawoud |

MuwataMalik-017-001-35754 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya Ibn Said and Abdullah Ibn Abi Bakr and Rabia Ibn Abi Abdulrahman that AlWalid Ibn Abd AlMalik asked Salim Ibn Abdullah and Kharija Ibn Zayd Ibn Thabit if he could use perfume after he had stoned the jamra and shaved his head; but before he had left for the tawafal-ifada. Salim forbade him to do so; but Kharija Ibn Zayd Ibn Thabit said that he could. Malik said; There is no harm in a man oiling himself with an oil which does not have any perfume in it; either before he enters ihram; or before he leaves Mina for the tawaf Alifada; if he has stoned the jamra. Yahya said that Malik was asked whether someone in ihram could eat food with saffron in it; and he said; There is no harm in some one in ihram eating it if it has been cooked. If; however; it has not been cooked he should not eat it. | The Chapter on Shaving The Head And Aljamarat in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Hajj in Muwata Malik |
