Surat AlBaqara Ayah 283Surat AlBaqara-0.05787وَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ وَلَمْ تَجِدُوا كَاتِبًا فَرِهَانٌ مَقْبُوضَةٌ فَإِنْ أَمِنَ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا فَلْيُؤَدِّ الَّذِي اؤْتُمِنَ أَمَانَتَهُ وَلْيَتَّقِ اللَّهَ رَبَّهُ وَلَا تَكْتُمُوا الشَّهَادَةَ وَمَنْ يَكْتُمْهَا فَإِنَّهُ آثِمٌ قَلْبُهُ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌIf ye are on a journey, and cannot find a scribe, a pledge with possession (may serve the purpose). And if one of you deposits a thing on trust with another, Let the trustee (Faithfully) discharge His trust, and let him fear his Lord. Conceal not evidence; for whoever conceals it, - His heart is tainted with sin. And Allah Knoweth all that ye do.

Approach not prayers with a mind befogged, until ye can understand all that ye say, - nor in a state of ceremonial impurity (Except when travelling on the road), until after washing your whole body. If ye are ill, or on a journey, or one of you cometh from offices of nature, or ye have been in contact with women, and ye find no water, then take for yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands. For Allah doth blot out sins and forgive again and again.

Each one (of them) believeth in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers. "We make no distinction (they say) between one and another of His messengers." And they say: "We hear, and we obey: (We seek) Thy forgiveness, our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys."
Surat AlBaqara Ayah 185Surat AlBaqara0.1987شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنُ هُدًى لِلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الْهُدَى وَالْفُرْقَانِ فَمَنْ شَهِدَ مِنْكُمُ الشَّهْرَ فَلْيَصُمْهُ وَمَنْ كَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ بِكُمُ الْيُسْرَ وَلَا يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ الْعُسْرَ وَلِتُكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ وَلِتُكَبِّرُوا اللَّهَ عَلَى مَا هَدَاكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَRamadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful.

For those who can do it (With hardship), is a ransom, the feeding of one that is indigent. But he that will give more, of his own free will, - it is better for him. And it is better for you that ye fast, if ye only knew.

If any one undertakes that duty therein, Let there be no obscenity, nor wickedness, nor wrangling in the Hajj. And whatever good ye do, (be sure) Allah knoweth it. And take a provision (With you) for the journey, but the best of provisions is right conduct. So fear Me, o ye that are wise.

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-102Narrated Abdullah Bin Umar: I saw Allah Messenger ﷺ delaying the Maghrib prayer till he offered it along with the Isha prayer whenever he was in a hurry during the journey. Salim narrated; Ibn Umar used to do the same whenever he was in a hurry during the journey. And Salim added; Ibn Umar used to pray the Maghrib and Isha prayers together in AlMuzdalifa. Salim said; Ibn Umar delayed the Maghrib prayer because at that time he heard the news of the death of his wife Safiya bint Abi Ubaid. I said to him; The prayer is due. He said; Go on. Again I said; The prayer is due. He said; Go on; till we covered two or three miles. Then he got down; prayed and said; I saw the Prophet ﷺ praying in this way; whenever he was in a hurry during the journey. Abdullah bin Umar added; Whenever the Prophet was in a hurry; he used to delay the Maghrib prayer and then offer three rakat of the Maghrib and perform Taslim; and after waiting for a short while; Iqama used to be pronounced for the Isha prayer when he would offer two rakat and perform Taslim. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2838Narrated Rafi Bin Khadeej: While we were with the Prophet. on a journey; one of the camels ran away. A man shot it with an arrow and stopped it. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3598Narrated AlQasim: Aisha said that whenever the Prophet ﷺ intended to go on a journey; he drew lots among his wives so as to take one of them along with him. During one of his journeys the lot fell on Aisha and Hafsa. When night fell the Prophet ﷺ would ride beside Aisha and talk with her. One night Hafsa said to Aisha; Wont you ride my camel tonight and I ride yours; so that you may see me and I see you in new situation ? Aisha said; Yes; I agree. When we were returning; Jabir continued; the Prophet ﷺ said; Whoever wants to return earlier to his family; should hurry up. We set off and I was on a black red tainted camel having no defect; and the people were behind me. While I was in that state the camel stopped suddenly because of exhaustion. On that the Prophet ﷺ said to me; O Jabir; wait! Then he hit it once with his lash and it started moving on a fast pace. He then said; Will you sell the camel? I replied in the affirmative when we reached Medina; and the Prophet ﷺ went to the Masjid along with his companions. I; too; went to him after tying the camel on the pavement at the Masjid gate. Then I said to him; This is your camel. He came out and started examining the camel and saying; The camel is ours. Then the Prophet ﷺ sent some Awaq i.e. an amount of gold saying; Give it to Jabir. Then he asked; Have you taken the full price of the camel ? I replied in the affirmative. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4936Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: Allah Messenger ﷺ sent an army towards the east coast and appointed Abu Ubaida Bin AlJarrah as their chief; and the army consisted of three-hundred men including myself. We marched on till we reached a place where our food was about to finish. Abu Ubaida ordered us to collect all the journey food and it was collected. My our journey food was dates. Abu Ubaida kept on giving us our daily ration in small amounts from it; till it was exhausted. The share of everyone of us used to be one date only. I said; How could one date benefit you? Jabir replied; We came to know its value when even that too finished. Jabir added; When we reached the sea-shore; we saw a huge fish which was like a small mountain. We set out; and we had covered some distance on the way; when our journey food ran short. So Abu Ubaida ordered that all the food present with the troops be collected; and it was collected. Our journey food was dates; and Abu Ubaida kept on giving us our daily ration from it little by little piecemeal till it decreased to such an extent that we did not receive except a date each. I asked Jabir ; How could one date benefit you? He said; We came to know its value when even that finished. Jabir added; Then we reached the sea coast where we found a fish like a small mountain. The people i.e. troops ate of it for 18 nights i.e. days. Then Abu Ubaida ordered that two of its ribs be fixed on the ground in the form of an arch and that a camel be ridden and passed under them. We travelled the whole of the night; and when it was about to dawn; we got down for rest; and were overpowered by sleep till the sun shone. After having completed the prayer; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: O; so and so; what prevented you from observing prayer with us? He said: Apostle of Allah! I was not in a state of purity. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered him arid lie performed Tayammum with dust and said prayer. He then urged me to go ahead immediately along with other riders to find out water; for we felt very thirsty. We were traveling when we came across a woman who was sitting on a camel with her feet hanging over two leathern water bags. We said to her: How far is water available? She; said: Far; very far; very far. You cannot get water. We again said: How much distance is there between the residence of your family and water? She said: It is a day and night journey. We said to her: You go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said: Who is the Messenger of Allah? We somehow or the other managed to bring her to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he asked about her; and she informed him as she had informed us that she was a widow having orphan children. He ordered that her camel should be made to kneal down and he gargled in the opening of her leathern water-bag. The camel was then raised up and we forty thirsty men drank water till we were completely satiated; and we filled up all leathern water-bags and water-skins that we had with us and we washed our companions; but we did not make any camel drink; and the leathern water-bags were about to burst on account of excess of water. He then said: Bring whatever you have with you. So we collected the bits of estable things and dates and packed them up in a bundle; and said to her: Take it away. This is meant for your children; and know that we have not its any way done any loss to your water. W hen she came to her family she said: I have met the greatest magician amongst human beings; or he is an apostle; as he claims to be; and she then narrated what had happened and Allah guided aright those people through that woman. So I said: Indeed there is some doubt in my chest concerning wiping over the Khuff after defecation and urination; and you were a man from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ ; so I came to you to ask you: Have you heard him ﷺ mention anything concerning that? He said: Yes; he ﷺ used to order us; that when we were travelers - or - in travel; to not remove our Khuff for three days and nights except; from sexual impurity; but not from defecation; urination; and sleep. He said: Have you heard him ﷺ mention anything concerning love? He said: Yes. We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey when a Bedouin with a loud voice called upon him saying : O Muhammad! So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ responded to him with a voice similar to him saying : Come. So we said to him: Lower your voice for you are with the Prophet ﷺ ; and you have been prohibited from this. He said: By Allah; I will not lower my voice. The Bedouin said: A man loves a people but he is not with them in terms of deeds ? He ﷺ said: A man is with whomever he loves on the Day Of Judgment. So he did not cease talking with us; until he mentioned a gate in the direction of the west with the width of seventy years journey - or a rider would travel its width - for forty or seventy years. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29797Narrated Habib Ibn Maslamah AlFihri: Makhul said: I was the slave of a woman of Banu Hudhayl; afterwards she emancipated me. I did not leave Egypt until I had acquired all the knowledge that seemed to me to exist there. I then came to AlHijaz and I did not leave it until I had acquired all the knowledge that seemed to be available. Then I came to AlIraq; and I did not leave it until I had acquired all the knowledge that seemed to be available. I then came to Syria; and besieged it. I asked everyone about giving rewards from the booty. I did not find anyone who could tell me anything about it. I then met an old man called Ziyad Ibn Jariyah AlTamimi. I asked him: Have you heard anything about giving rewards from the booty? He replied: Yes. I heard Maslamah AlFihri say: I was present with the Prophet ﷺ. Yahya said that Malik said; Someone who is travelling and knows that he will be reaching his people in the first part of the day; and then dawn breaks before he gets there; should be fasting when he gets there. Malik said; Someone who intends to go away on a journey in Ramadan; and then dawn breaks while he is still on his land before he has left; should fast that day. MuwataMalik-017-001-35523Yahya said that he heard Malik say; What I have heard from the people of knowledge is that if a man succumbs to an illness which makes fasting very difficult for him and exhausts him and wears him out; he can break his fast. This is the same as with a sick man in the prayer; who finds standing to be too difficult and exhausting; and Allah knows better than the slave that it is an excuse for him and that it really cannot be described. If the man is in such a condition he prays sitting; and the deen of Allah is ease. Allah has permitted a traveller to break the fast when travelling; and he has more strength for fasting than a sick man.
